Just of to dry cleaners to collect dh's shirts. Always the first thing that MiL says, before she has taken her coat off, is "right where are his shirts" as knows that I don't tend to iron them, - so this time I have organised them all to be dry cleaned and will hang them up in cupboard and will be able to smile and say no all done!
MiL is great, just find it hard being told stuff rather than asked:
Like last night was told "I bringing tomorrows dinner" = negative reaction from me, whereas if she said can "Can I cook tea for you? how about I do this? would that be ok? = wouldn't put me in foul mood. Ranting sorry! I am grateful really, don't want to cook dinner at all! Silly me!

goign to look at schuhstore.co.uk then I'm going to have to go and do soemthing useful beforeI have to pick up the smalluns

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 10:49

MM - Have fun, dont go stealing any semen from the geese mind!!

Bronze they aren't that high at all especially as they are wedges they feel like flats and the beachbabe ones dont have toeposts

OddEyes, you should be okay with the HiP so long as the EDD is after the 6th

I'm really excited for you How weird is it knowing it's the last day before your new baby instead of having to sit & guess?

& try not to get wound up by MIL if you can help it! (Easier said than done, I know ) xx

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 10:53

ahhh better linkey for sketchers

OP posts:
brettgirl2 · 01/04/2009 10:53

Oddeyes - post it NOW because the rules say that you have to claim before your due date (and that prob means they have to receive and log it)

BoffinMum · 01/04/2009 10:53

Bronze, you can buy a hospital grade TENS quite cheaply from PhysioMed - look for the TPN200+ model. About £35 (you can get the VAT refunded if it is for medical use).

Nutty, remember that taking codeine and paracetemol at the same time works better than just one or the other on their own.
This was my (consultant approved) regime at the same in the pg as you are now:

0800 60mg codeine plus 2 x 500mg paracetemol, TENS on

1200 Ditto

1800 Ditto

2200 Ditto plus oramorph 5ml if required

I was allowed two other doses of oramorph during the day - say 1000 and 1600 if I wanted, but I didn't like taking it because of the wooziness, so I generally didn't bother.

Solpadol probably only has 7.5 mg codeine in it so might not quite be enough to sort you out, tbh.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 10:54

Oddeyes- Wooohhooooo last day for you!!! how exciting!!! good luck with the MIL xx

bronze · 01/04/2009 10:55

oh thanks Boff. Will have a look. Especially if I can then get some money back on ebay

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 10:56

I think with the HiP that you're okay so long as your due date is after the 6th & they receive it within 31 days of it being signed. Otherwise lots of people will miss out because the forms haven't been readily available - & that's not our fault.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 10:59

Boff - Solpadol has 500mg Paracetamol & 30mg codine and i can take 2 at a time so tis pretty much the same , i have taken some bout an hour ago xx

i'm the same with the morphine, i just dont trust myself with it if i'm alone i feel safer when dh is here (and dd is in bed)hence the 8pm and 12 midnight doses

Oh dear, sounds like a pretty frustrating morning for most. Except perhaps Auld who I hope has found some light at the end of the tunnel.

It's beautiful outside today but I just feel so heavy I may just throw DD in the garden and sit on my bottom all day. I have been so busy the last couple of days and will be again Friday and all weekend so I reckon I deserve a lazy day.

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:01

Yippee for ACE inhibitors!

Nutts - I just think that if these obstetric professional types are going to stick their necks out and give you a due date, they should be obliged to enforce it! Already 11 hours of the day gone, and my baby is not here!!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 11:03

Juw - ((hugs))

OP posts:
SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 11:05

Would you like a bit of my sponge, Ju? It's very relaxing

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:05

Ooh, tea!

Easily side-tracked

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 11:07

Juw - chalk?? crumbly chalky goodnes!!

OP posts:
Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:08

Springy - I am quite tempted to seek out a Doktor Power sponge - they sound fascinating.

DH thinks I am a loon because when I see things that are shiny and colourful like boiled sweets (my friend's turquoise Mini Cooper for example), I really want to lick them because they look so edible. Can I claim that my pg craving was Minis (even though this predates pg?)?

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:10

Nah, crumbly does't do it for me.

Chalk lollies - booooo!
Boiled-sweet type shiny lollies (those little flat circular ones in a square packet) - Yay!!

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 11:10

Oh, you should! They're amazing! They're genuinely practical as well as being lovely. I bought mine from Wilkos when I was buying the legendary maroon bathsheet

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:12

Ah, maroon bathsheet!

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:12

Whistful???

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:14

WTF! Ocado don't appear to sell Doktor Power products! What a bunch of wasters!

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 11:14

Right the first time, I think.

I've eroded a little dent in my sponge with all the stroking. I really am losing my mind

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 11:14

hello - just popping in to say I am still alive and not mental!!! have taken all the fixtures and fittings down (bar the shower screen as that is a bit heavy for me, ripped all the wood cladding off and have taken the tiles off of one wall (the easy half wall one!!!

It is actually helping my mood no end, think it's because I get to hit things with a hammer and hear them crash!

Ok off to put the remnants in a binbag and get cracking again!!
