Happy due date!

I think I'm going to be off now. My bed's calling to me. & DH has just flounced off because I told him that having his penis out doesn't automatically entitle him to an orgasm. I said it in a light-hearted tone, but I think it may have come across as a bit grumpy. Probably because it was

Night all xxx

tristaleejac · 01/04/2009 00:06

Don't mention the A word, it freaks me out. I refuse to look at any calendars!

springy my DP was totally like that for 1st year we were together, until I freaked out wondering where the intimacy was. He admitted he didn't know what to do, what I wanted etc, and was really embarrassed about asking.
After that we arranged a lovely evening together, set up lovely background music, had a wee glass of wine each, and made a deal. No touching of bits, at all. Just enjoying our bodies together.
We lay there for ages, kissing, touching, stroking etc. The fact that we weren't allowed to touch main bits made it more exciting. The suspense was incredible.
We didn't stick to the rules for long, of course, but it just gives enough time to show how amazing the build up can be.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 00:07

Night Springy, good luck with the pillow talk xx

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 00:07

Haha, I may make that my catchphrase

& there'd better be some more baby action overnight. I'll be disappointed if I come on in the morning & nothing's happened - & nobody wants to disappoint me, do they?

Niiight! xx

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 00:11

Trist, he's perfectly fine in a non-sexual setting, but he doesn't seem to understand that I can't just go 0-60 in the time it takes him to put his hand between my legs. Sometimes he asks if I want to do rudes & I say that I'm open to persuasion - meaning that he'll have to make a bit of effort. Again, he just takes that to mean that he has to wriggle his fingers in my knickers a bit. It wasn't such a big problem before the boob thing, because he loves boobs & would spend ages touching them. Now it really is just nothing. I think it will have to be a conversation - the more I think about it to explain it here, the more I realise that it's not on!

Really am off now. Must get to bed before he falls asleep & is in a grump all of tomorrow as well

tristaleejac · 01/04/2009 00:13

Morning all.
Welcome to April!!!
The month we've been waiting on since our common shagging in july!
Roll on happy healthy babies and mums.

I couldn't sleep and was itching to see if anyone was up and in labour. It appears not but hopefully things are progressing for a few of you

Hope today's fantastic for everyone

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 07:12

Mooooooorrrrrrrning!!!

It's April - Officially due date time!!!! Come on then girls - what you all waiting for

Hope you all had nice sleeps - I was OK until the early hours when the pains started really kicking in again - period pain has intensified and my stomach is very very tender - had a couple of 'proper' contractions in the early hours but still no major progressions - have to leave in an hour for my mw appointment so hoping the walk and some fiddling will get things started properly!!

Soon2be - welcome back - how are things?

Happy due date to Rachel, Juw and ChickenBalti and puzzle and soon2be - welcome to full term!!!

Swali, how you feeling today?

Surprise - you feeling any better?

Morning trista - it's very funny how MN becomes such a big part of your routine- I virtually kick DH out the door at 6.45 so I can come on and check out the actions of the previous night.

Boff - really really good news about DS2 - such a weight off your mind! Looks like things are finally looking up for you!!

Nutty, how is the pain today - did you get lots of sleep last night?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 01/04/2009 07:50

morning!

just popping in quickly. have my scan today to see if baby has moved (i really don't think s/he has)

MIL has DS so not sure what we're going to do with the rest of the day. i'm thinking costco and ikea....what a wild woman i am!

sad news last night. MIL had to put one of her dogs down. poor DH was distraught. rico was a great dog. he was just about a year old when i came on the scene. he was a very sensitive dog, was fantastic when DH's dad died. was always just there just when you needed him.
his back legs stopped working and they said it was neurological.

i don't think we're going to say anything to DS unless he notices that rico's not around. how do you explain death to a 3yo?

sorry to put a downer on the day. just wanted to get that out.

i'll try to pop back on later to update on bub;s position.

happy april everyone!
xx

PuzzleRocks · 01/04/2009 07:51

Hi BB, good luck this morning. Thanks for my term day congrats.

Trista/Springy/Smuts - I snorted my cereal reading your late night posts.

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 07:54

Oh purple it is tough, it is really difficult to explain to young kids but sure you will think of something if the time comes - sorry I can't be more help! Good luck with the scan!

Morning puzzle - right am already running late - see you all in a bit!

PuzzleRocks · 01/04/2009 07:58

Good luck today Purple. Sorry about MIL's dog.

frekkles · 01/04/2009 08:13

hello everyone, how's yous? Sorry for lengthy abscence, I've been working lots the last couple of weeks trying to get some pennies together for the summer and then my mum has been in hospital having surgery on her knee so I've been at my sisters visiting her in hospital

i'm generally ok, usual ups and downs and aches and pains but not too shabby. Pregnancy progression wise I've had a bit of show, and I'm feeling alot more crampy low feelings and backache, so things are perhaps moving on a little. I'm 37 weeks on friday! actually starting to look forward to having this baby now!!!!!! how weird me typing that.

been reading a brilliant/hilarious/inspiring book called spiritual midwifery and it's extremely posotive and making me remeber how to be courageous and independant and head strong. which i like. getting me in a good place mentally

how is everyone? I've missed you all x thanks for asking after me last week. have we got anymore babies yet?

PuzzleRocks · 01/04/2009 08:17

Hey Frekkles, we've missed you girl.
I hope your Mum is on the mend?
I may seek that book out, that's great that you are feeling really positive.

The baby list...
12 Feb: Skiingone: MARIANNA 4lb 4oz
20 Feb: Glaskham: RUBY MARIE 4lb 3oz
04 Mar: Barbarella: ESTELLA, ROSANNA, OTIS
05 Mar: Kazkiss: ISABELLE FLORENCE 4lb 6oz & OLIVER THOMAS 3lb 7oz
15 Mar: Babypringle: OSCAR WILLIAM 7lb 2oz
28 Mar: Claireykitten: VIOLET ROSE 7lbs 9oz
29 Mar: WhatFreshHell: BABY FRESHHELL 10lb 5.5oz
31 Mar: Mumblemum: ORSON XERXES

BoffinMum · 01/04/2009 08:42

Hey Frekkles, good to have you back.

I am more or less OK this morning, despite not sleeping too well, but actually don't feel particularly pg any more, and didn't yesterday either. It's very odd. LO is still moving around a lot, so I have no worries there, but I was wondering if anyone else feels like this? Even my SPD seems a bit better. The only clue to being pg is not being able to bend over, and also eating twice as much as usual.

DH has gone down to the surgery for another BP appointment, so hopefully that will be OK. He is going to ask about beta blockers etc.

DCs have skipped off to school, DS1 is very jealous he can't move as well, but as he only has a term to go at secondary school, really there's no point. DS2 is still extremely cheerful indeed about the move, thank goodness.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 08:42

HAPPY APRIL!!!!!!!!

BB - good luck at the MW, lets hope things start hotting up for you soon xx

Morning Puzzle

Purple - Good Luck with the scan today so sorry to hear about your MIL's dog xx maybe you could say that he wasn't very well so he had to go to a big doggie playground up in the sky to see some friends so he could get better, but he cant come back or he would be ill and owie again?? xx

Frekkles - YAY hello there, hooray for the show and good progression and positivity Hope your mum gets better soon xx

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 01/04/2009 08:43

I meant only a term to go until secondary school.

BoffinMum · 01/04/2009 08:44

Hey Nutty how is your back and so on today? Did yesterday's rest help?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 08:44

Morning Boff thats fantastic that your DS is so happy!! fingers crossed for your DH xx

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 08:52

still really bad today , i'm expecting it to be like this for a few days (i hope its not but...)tbh as i must have really pushed my body some the other night. Still have virtually no feeling in my left leg, cant stand up properly and can take only very very small steps, definate improvement to not being able to move at all but i have to do it myself today as DH had to go back to work and DD has happily gone to school. which is good cos i can wail cry and scream in private but i have to leave the morphine alone today too cos its just too dangerous for me to take on my own, makes me to spacey.

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 09:02

on the upside though.....only 30 more days to go till its all over, i will have a bambino instead of pain and it will all be distant memory and life will be more mobile and back to normal (there may be a back op involved somewhere along the lines and 6 week recoup but that will be nothing compared to the last 9 months)

OP posts:
conkertree · 01/04/2009 09:05

yaaaaaayyyyyy its april

that has made me very excited (am refusing to acknoweldge that this baby could be born in May).

smutty - sorry to hear about the pain. hope it improves during the day.

boffinmum - great that ds2 is happy - makes life a lot easier with a new arrival i imagine.

lol at the chat last night - definitely something to be sorted springy though. doesnt have to be the same routine every time but a little warmup never does any harm.

ds was a nightmare last night again - ended up in our bed and thats always a disaster for me having any sleep - so far the spots dont seem to be itchy though so maybe he will have the pox in a mild form which would be great.

anyway dh is calling - french toast and rlt on the table so its not all bad having no sleep

good luck bb today at the mw - and nice to see you back frekkles.
