The thing is with names, I know I will give in - am very stubborn as is DH but he just has this way of making me change my mind - so infuriating!

bronze · 25/03/2009 09:38

Well I like all your list though maybe not caravan so much but if you like them too then maybe you can find a compromise

brettgirl2 · 25/03/2009 09:42

Hi All

May I ask - why can a heavily pg lady not get any peace at all? I have already this morning had DHL hammering on my door then received a nuisance phone call (one of those silent 'withheld' ones). I have caller display so possibly should ignore but I did answer one yesterday and it was the police (we had a tyre slashing incident on Friday night ).

Gingersarah - very cunning lol. I would also suggest starting in all seriousness with a couple of ridiculous suggestions and come round to the one you actually want

In terms of BP - it isn't the level of 130/90 that is particularly worrying it is the fact that it is much higher than usual. They think when that happens it is PE. I have quizzed quite a lot on BP due to my white coat syndrome and 'real' BP on the high side of normal and they told me that they look for change rather than the actual level. They also take more notice of the bottom figure and 90 is the absolute maximum. It is poss to get a false reading though - I had one that was 120/60 and my BP has NEVER been measured as less than 130/75.
The highest mine has been measured during pg was 152/90 (which they didn't like), half an hour later when I was more relaxed it was 137/83 . To get it down you need to relax, avoid too much salt and forget about it. If you get tense it puts it up IYSWIM!

Will somebody please have a bloody baby? I'm not happy about the lack of birthing action. Boffin having the baby this week would be inconvenient for work??? What a **ing liberty!!!!!

brettgirl2 · 25/03/2009 09:43

90 being the absolute maximum for 'normal', not life! That's reads really scarily!

PuzzleRocks · 25/03/2009 09:45

Ok I have definitely been on here too long. Just read Brettgirls post and though DHL? Dear Husbands Lover, surely not?

brettgirl2 · 25/03/2009 09:46

And purple if your HB is that bad it will be because your oesophagus is inflamed. Go to the doctors and get Omeprazole.

brettgirl2 · 25/03/2009 09:47

Hahahahaha.

Not that would be something to moan about

bronze · 25/03/2009 09:49

Well Brettgirls DHL would be brettgirl then surely

SpringySunshine · 25/03/2009 09:50

Haha, thank you for your expression of remorse, Boffin. It means a lot

I know what you mean about waking up pregnant. I had more bleeding last night & some pretty strong contractions, but told myself to go to sleep & get some rest. I wake up this morning & NOTHING. It's so damn close! Why must it taunt me so?

BB, my favourite of those names are Ilay & Tayan. My least favourite are Karahan (Caravan) & Emin (Tracy). The other two are really nice too, though The more I think about it, the more I'm not sure that I'd have made the Caravan connection without you pointing it out. It's really not a terrible name beyond that. But the Caravan thing is hard to get past now it's in my mind

Auld, sorry to hear that things are still tough. If only there was some sort of magic wand that could be waved to make it all easier

Just read the explanation of your DH's work. It sounds infuriating! What a cheek to keep taking the credit (financial & otherwise!) for other people's work. It makes me really to think about & it's not even my DH.

Puzzle, it wasn't unintentional at all - every time I have sex, I send Nutty a lengthy description of the details. Sometimes with a little video clip, if she's really lucky. A blow-by-blow account, if you will

Kitty, that's good news about your BP - hopefully any doubt will be resolved very easily as a result!

Schulte, my granddad always bring me tea in bed when I stay with them. He's the only person who ever does it, & I think it's really sweet - even though I'm never in the mood for tea first thing in the morning, I drink it & think it's lovely. It's one of those little things that makes me all oddly sentimental for no apparently reason

Sarah, you're a baby-naming genius

PuzzleRocks · 25/03/2009 09:55

Springy

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 10:20

Springy are you bleeding or is it like bloody gunk? Have the contractions stopped this morning?

brettgirl2 · 25/03/2009 10:23

My first vision Bronze was a stunning homosexual with rippling muscles

I hope my DH doesn't read this, he would be horrified!

SpringySunshine · 25/03/2009 10:24

Bloody gunk & it's pretty much stopped now anyway. It was just last night.

& I'm a bit contracty, but a lot less than last night.

I'm tempted to go to the hospital to see what they say - I'm really not worried (but will play that card!), but I'm curious to know what the hell's going on. LO's still quite quiet as well, so I think I have a legitimate reason, even though I know he's okay.

I would be worried if I didn't have MN, so I don't think it's too cheeky of me to phone & hope they invite me in, is it?

SpringySunshine · 25/03/2009 10:25

brett, you could've at least gone for a bisexual & got in on the action

bronze · 25/03/2009 10:26

I am so lost and confuddled

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 10:28

I would just call them a bit later, say you have had some bleeding and contractions and the movements have decreased slightly - they will ask you if you are still having 10 movements a day which if you are I think you should tell them yes as otherwise that's a whole different story! (when mine were down to 2 or 3 they had me in there so quick it actually stressed me out more than anything else!)

I really do think it is all starting for you, just may take you a while to get to active labour!!

With your contractions are they like painful tightenings or still period pain-like?

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 10:28

ha ha bronze I tend to ignore the things that confuse me - of which rippling homosexuals is!!

Bleuravin · 25/03/2009 10:29

Morning. Just checking in to say I'm not in jail for killing my ILs though on Monday I came rather close to locking them in the livingroom or shouting my MIL out of the house...she KEPT telling me to 'go sit down' when I had things to get done. Nothing annoys me quicker then being told nonsense when I have things to be getting done, especially when I'm REALLY not doing anything above what I capable. She wouldn't even let me carry the bloody plates to the table, snatching them from my hands at one point. I said to her in a semi joking tone that if she did not stop I was going to make her go sit on the couch and not allow HER to do anything soon if she kept it up. Things eased slightly after that...
Then she kept wanting to talk about jobs and our possible prospects and money and kept saying that we just couldn't sell the house because our lives would be ruined if we did... And surely we couldn't seriously be thinking of moving out of the country... I had to keep repeating to her that what options we had were the options we had and we would only be making 'rash' decisions after some long discussions and if nothing else was avail to us.
Then she wanted to talk about raising kids... and kept saying things like...it's going to be harder then you think dealing with a baby 24/7. to which I kept saying, I'm sure it is, but I have no qualms about the everyday stuff... to which she said you need to take SO MUCH stuff with you whenever you go out, going out for a day is like going out for 5 there's all the nappies and clothes and...
Bloody hell! I nearly ran screaming from the room to cut off my ears...
But I've survived...but as you see I'm still a bit tense about the whole thing...sorry about the rant.
Really she is well meaning and lovely; I'm just growing more and more irratated in the last weeks of the pregnancy...no more than 3 weeks to go...

SpringySunshine · 25/03/2009 10:31

I have both. By contractions I mean the tightenings that start, get painful, stop being painful, then stop. Sometimes they get so painful that I have to wriggle my toes & do silly breathing to get through them. Usually they're not that bad.

I also have on / off period pain, & occasional stabbing / tingling pains down the bottom of my bump towards my fanjo.

SpringySunshine · 25/03/2009 10:34

Well done for surviving, Bleu. That all sounds rather irritating, so I'm proud of you for not flipping out & stabbing someone

& yes, it is a lot easier to get stressed / upset these days than it has been. Hormone levels must be absolutely through the roof, I think. I've not suffered much with hormones throughout the pregnancy (obviously a bit, but not terribly so), but the last week or so has just been a total joke. Which is all the more reason why your patience is very impressive

BoffinMum · 25/03/2009 10:36

Kitty, electronic machines are generally more inaccurate than manual ones, but if it is a new machine they can't really say too much in criticism. My DH has just been loaned an electronic one by the surgery. What would count is keeping a graph or chart of how it goes up and down, and taking it at the same time every day. I am sure that would be good enough.

Bleuravin · 25/03/2009 10:38

Oh.. and DH has invited tons of people from his work over this evening for supper... Not even a day to relax between the two events... Bloody hell what am I to feed these people? And in the mean time my feet/ankles have swollen painfully no matter that I have them up at least half the day... I look at them and think...who the hell cut my feet off and put some old granny's feet on them instead?

OOOOOooooo Bleu is in a bad mood today! You must forgive me as I gnash my teeth...

SpringySunshine · 25/03/2009 10:39

What was he thinking?!

bronze · 25/03/2009 10:40

you are not to feed them bleu- Dh will have to do it. Had he not thought? You need some nice granny slippers to go with your feet

Bleuravin · 25/03/2009 10:41

He's thinking he's almost done with work... A week from yesterday is his absolute last day...
