Here we go

Show business may be good business but can we get on with some birthing business now please!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 08:53

Schultes don't say that!! Sweet tea in bed when you are tired / poorly / hungover is the perfect remedy (fwiw you and my DH would get on like a house on fire !!!)

I feel fine in myself just period pain and nausea, have just had some plain bread tho which normally settles it!!!

The weather here was awful last night, woke up to my garden looking like some sort of post-war scene with the wind! So glad I didn't do the summer planting at the weekend like I had planned as the frost will have killed them all off!!!

Is DD at home or have you sent her off to nursery? it's difficult as in one way you want her to have them so its over and done with but the risks are too high and it would be horrid if your DH and her weren't around when the baby came!!

Auld that sounds awful - so basically unless you own your own business you are pretty screwed! Even not having friends and family within an hour of me means contacts etc for DH when he was looking for work were hard - so can't imagine what it is like for you! Fingers crossed everything works out!

morning all

sent ds1 to school with a friend this morning so had a relaxed morning. Gave the children cereal bars for breakfast so I didn't have to worry about that either.

I missed out on getting a virtual wife...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 25/03/2009 08:56

Morning lovely ladies!

I've followed all your advice and am taking it veeeeery easy today and tomorrow... My wonderful DH came home early from work with a big bunch of tulips and a bloop pressure machine, so that we can monitor it every few hours ourselves. So far we're looking like it WAS an error on the MW side - whether her machine wasn't calibrated or what I don't know, but my BP has been a constant 110/75-ish all of yesterday afternoon and today. Hold thumbs it stays like that!!

Boff - oh guru of home births - will they be willing to look at my results when they come around tomorrow to retest, or will they come up with some silly excuse like "those Lloyds pharmacy machines are inaccurate" or something like that? What do you think?

Schulte · 25/03/2009 08:58

I'll have your DH then BB but only if he drops Caravan as a name. You can have my MIL - she always brings me tea in bed when I stay at her house when I really really don't want it. I am such an ungrateful bitch!

DD is at nursery right now because I have a pregnancy massage booked for today and really need to get a couple more things done before my 'holiday' is over. If she caught it today she should come down with it before I am 39 weeks so hopefully we'll be fine....

Auld

Schulte · 25/03/2009 08:59

Bronze I'll marry you then I'd always have fresh eggs in the house!

Schulte · 25/03/2009 09:00

Kitty sounds promising! Okay, off to have a shower now.

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 09:01

Kitty, they can't ignore it f it remains consistent - that has decreased a significant amount so I think you will be fine unless they are TRYING to find a reason for you NOT to have a HB.

It may have just been a blip in you BP, if you pushed yourself too much or were anxious about something (even subconsciously!)

bronze · 25/03/2009 09:04

any one know what those little plastic toys, sort of collecatable things are called. theres an advert around at the moment with a load of them tumbling around?

bronze · 25/03/2009 09:05

shall I make you all jealous. My mil just rang and offered to come and take some laundry off my hands . This is on top of doing all the other stuff she does, I know she in court all day too

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 09:05

Sorry bronze no idea - are they animals or characters?

PuzzleRocks · 25/03/2009 09:06

Kitty - That's great. Don't take no for an answer from them.

Schulte - I really hope everything works out ok.

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 09:06

oooh nice MIL - mine is the same - I wish she lived in this country as I would have nothing to do - when she comes to stay I have weeks of no washing, an immaculate house, all my ironing done and food ON THE TABLE when I walk in the door!

PuzzleRocks · 25/03/2009 09:08

I wish I had a mother-in-law.

bronze · 25/03/2009 09:08

not sure little aliens or characters I think. I want toget ds some for his birthday. Normally he only gets sensible but lovely presents but he wants some of these and I want to surprise him because hes been so fab the last few days.

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 09:08

They are not all good - look at Nutty's

PuzzleRocks · 25/03/2009 09:10

Bet mine would have been brilliant though.

Schulte · 25/03/2009 09:12

Crazy Bones Bronze? You can get them at newsagents. Must be off to get washed now. Really really must. ((slaps self))

bronze · 25/03/2009 09:14

oh that looks right thanks Shulte

PuzzleRocks · 25/03/2009 09:14

quick

purplemonkeydishwasher · 25/03/2009 09:15

morning everyone!

once agian it has taken me an HOUR to catch up on the thread. then i forget what i want to comment on. bugger this pg brain!

OH NAMES! i'm so glad that we aren't the only ones who don't have names picked. i'm 90% on a girl's name but nothing for a boy, DS keeps insisting that the new baby will be called DS. and no apparently we won't get confused

i'm so jealous of those of you with clean houses and the energy to keep then that way!

i am so struggling right now. between being knackered and the pelvis pain and not being able to bend down because of the heartburn very little is getting done.

speaking of heartburn...i'm finding that when it's really bad it gives me a backache. that#s weird isn't it.

bronze · 25/03/2009 09:20

Shulte not just chickens eggs you can have quails eggs on demand too

gingersarah · 25/03/2009 09:21

Good morning.
I am eating toast in bed Right Now. If this makes me unmarriageable, so be it. I am accustomed to the estate of spinsterhood anyway. (At my sister's wedding my BIL's great aunt said suspiciously, "you are quite lovely... why aren't you married?" must be the toast.)

Auld, sorry... can't offer advice but please feel free to tell us all about it if it helps, especially as you are not talking about it IRL.

I am seeing the MW this morning about HB. Kittycat, you should be fine, shouldn't you? They will have to recognise a temporary blip as such.

Only 3 days to go, only 2 in the office (if I make it through 2 days). Easy day today with appointments and lovely massage booked by lovely DP.

gingersarah · 25/03/2009 09:26

PS - names -

BB I like all those names, but that's not the point is it?
I am refusing to talk seriously about names other than batting suggestions around. My sneaky theory is that if you push your favourite name too hard at the beginning it may fall out of the race, like the initial leader of the field always falls in the Grand National. I am going to build up a private stock of preferences, mentioning a few of them perhaps without pushing too hard, and then when we have met the baby and we can see how (s)he looks I can go in hard when DP is at his most vulnerable and emotional (and grateful, I hope) with what I want and he won't be able to refuse.

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 09:26

Oh ginger that sounds nice (toast and massages)!! Good luck with the MW. I am counting down the hours - only two more wake ups until I don't have to get up and turn this blasted laptop on. Have promised DH I will only look once a day and it will be after 5.30 so I can't get bogged down with anything - so am going to have to make sure that I leave the house for a bit of the day as I know I will be tempted to check up on things if I am sat here alone...

So when I have kids will I suddenly have a sound knowledge of these little toy contraption things (I actually worked in toy PR for 2 years and knew everything but alas 4 years out has taken me out of the loop!!!)

BabyBolat · 25/03/2009 09:28

Good ploy ginger!
Purple ouch for heartburn! does anything help ease it?
