Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

OP posts:

Lauren you need to phone the labour ward as it could be first stage labour and you are under 37 weeks. If you are having regular contractions every 15 minutes I am fairly certain they will want to check you out.

Schulte · 18/03/2009 10:21

Oh - happy bouncing ladies.

Lauren I'd also call the antenatal ward although if they are only 15 mins apart at the moment probably nothing to worry about (just yet). Good luck.

lauren61 · 18/03/2009 10:22

i hate that place, they put things up ya muff grr oh well better be safe than sorry i guesss, will keep you updated guys im sure its nothing major though its not my turn yet!!! xx

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 10:24

Ahh but brettgirl I only want them when they look all cute and tiny on the TV!!!

Also on the hair I have very long hair so for a full head of highlights/ lowlights and cut that's not too bad but having said that because of the length I only need to do it twice a year (summer and winter) so actually 200 ish on haircuts over a whole year isn't too bad [persuading self emoticon!!]

Lauren if they are every 15 minutes regularly then give your labour ward a call or just pop up to the hospital if it's not too far away - sure it is nothing but better to go and put your mind at rest!

Ju no, I ate my porridge then attacked the bag - am going to blame it on the MW when DH gets home and asks where all the chocolate has gone

gingersarah · 18/03/2009 10:26

Congratulations to Babypringle!

BB, why did your boss annoy you?

I am having work-grrr too, only 8 days left though so shouldn't let it get to me. I am supposed to be handing over to my lovely new person, and everyone else in the office is treating it as a free for all to grab the bits of my / her job they have always wanted (and won't do them properly and will throw the mauled dog-ends back at her when they are bored of it). She is not at my level and so everyone seems to have decided to pile in and mess about with it all - and I have not even left yet!

Juwesm · 18/03/2009 10:26

BB - do you only have hair cut twice a year? I love you!!

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 10:28

Juw - stop panicking - are you planning to have this baby today?

Have not got emergency hospital bag ready. - do you have the stuff - if so go and pack it - will take 10 mins!

Have not got HB kit of shower curtains and dark towels - can you order them online so they arrive this week - if it comes earlier do it in the bath if you need to and wash it away

Have not got birthing pool - see above comment!

Have not got moses basket ready to go - Do you have a MB? If so, pop the sheets in the wash now and you and DH can put it together tonight - if not LO can sleep in your bed until it's ready!

Have not got biscuits for midwives as was encouraged to eat them - pah - if you go in to Labour send DH to the shop to buy them - apparently they like to have things to do when you are huffing and puffing!

Have got house of filth - Germs are good for babies - helps build up their immune system!

Have not got nursing bras - again order online or just wear a normal one and whack um out when you need them!!!

See how helpful I am!!!

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 10:31

Yep twice a year, once at the end of April / May time and once in November! although because of this LO haven't had a colour in over a year as didn't want to risk it at the start of my pregnancy last year!! can't wait to have it done.

Ginger - he is just so helpless sometimes and calls before I am supposed to work (even though I have been working since 7) to ask me pointless things that he hasn't even thought about!

grr for work gs - but yay for 8 days left!!! me too!!!

Juwesm · 18/03/2009 10:32

Ah, you are brill! Will go pack bag immediately (after a bit of prevarication, will just make a cuppa, perhaps put some things in the dishwasher.....)

You're right about the rest. Don't know why I'm worried. It's not like I'm usually an organised person who has collapsed into pregnancy chaos - this is normal me!

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 10:35

Schultes, I really want your mat leave life I am getting so very bored of my four walls (Don't know how boff and nutty have coped and really really want to DO something other than sit at my computer!)

Juwesm · 18/03/2009 10:36

I have hairdresser-phobia. I think it's mainly being plonked in front of a mirror for so long. Also, I dislike people playing with my hair. But strangely, don't mind so much having it coloured, will sit quite happily whilst all the weaving and foiling goes on (especially if I can face away from mirror!). It's cutting that I don't like. Perhaps had traumatic episode as a child. I did once cut my own fringe with nail scissors when small - I seem to recall I left about half and inch!

AuldAlliance · 18/03/2009 10:42

Schultes: lunch in town .
I'm facing another lunch en tête-à-tête with DS, whose conversation palls after a few hours.
Have just been very, very naughty and built the changing table (yep, the one that weighs 25kg).
Gave up on fitting the drawer together, as I thought I should leave something for DH.
Then rushed along to shops to buy paper cases for cakes with DS, who was panicking at the idea that the neighbours' kids would have gone in while we were out.
They hadn't and they are all playing (squabbling?) with their toy tool kits on the square outside.
Am feeling a bit funny after all the exertion
Off to cook lunch...

AuldAlliance · 18/03/2009 10:44

"I just figure, how wrong can you go? You put food in one end, keep the other end clean, and take everything else day by day and just do the best you can."
Juwesm, you make it sound so simple...why do my memories of the first, ooh, 6 mths, not tally with this approach?

brettgirl2 · 18/03/2009 10:46

I am having my hair cut next Thursday, I have given up on colouring though and have decided to stick with being a 'standard' brown.

BB my boss always asks me questions that he could easily find out the answer to himself. It does my absolute nut in.

brettgirl2 · 18/03/2009 10:47

I'm going to the races this afternoon because of course my boss does my nut in no longer

Juwesm · 18/03/2009 10:52

Ah, Auld, I should have put more emphasis on the 'everything else' part! The only bits I'm ready for are the food in/ poo out (and I'm not really ready for that) - I intend to make the rest up as I go!

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 11:04

brett - exactly - and the most annoying thing is that he will often ask things that I have specifically spoken to him about before or literally just emailed over and said - I DONT KNOW THE ANSWER and he will phone and say right what is happening with XX...

Anyway - have a conference call at 11.30 and then hoping the afternoon will be much more chilled!

Am actually really missing having my friend around to go and do lunch / with - everyone is at work or not babied up so not really that interested. Think I will investigate some baby groups this afternoon as will have to do something post baby!!

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 11:05

Juw have you packed that bag yet???

Juwesm · 18/03/2009 11:17

Morning Nutty!!

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 11:18

gs here's hoping!

Morning smutts - how are you today?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 18/03/2009 11:18

oookkk in one way i would like to say that that would be fantastic!! yummy orgasm and pain free well at least your mind would be taken off it

but on the other hand you would be giving birth to your child while having a sexual experience (would feel slightly wrong) even though you wouldn't really be able to help it iyswim
