Hi all - like the gulls story. Did anyone hear about 'Half Price Fuels Day' on radio 1 this morning - that was very funny!

I've brought my scan into work today to show the guys I work with and its been lovely to finally be able to tell!

Kay, sorry about your boiler issues, sounds like a right old palava! Gruff, hopw yours gets fixed very soon - I can't stand being cold!

Cosmo - have you been taking raspberry leaf tea? The midwife was saying yesterday that in order to try and make sure I get a VBAC, I should start taking it from 37/38 weeks (can't remember now but guess I'll have plenty of time to check!) but she said she highly recommends it for kick starting labour... just thought I'd mention it.

Cosmogirl · 01/04/2009 13:46

Hey, lost my mucus plug thing about an hour ago! No blood in it but definitely the plug or a big part of it. Now seem to be getting some dull periody type cramps and bump feels quite tight. Don't feel like contractions though...not painful. Ekk!! .... Really hope this is the start of something proper. Seem to have bad heartburn too if that means anything.

Am watching the crazy protesters on Sky News to keep my mind off it...

GruffaloSoldier · 01/04/2009 13:47

Hi STT - we've been lucky actually as its been quite warm and our flat holds the heat really well. Its just for peace of mind really with the baby on its way so soon.

I have already started on the raspberry leaf tea a few days ago and have started EPO today. Don't know if it is going to make any difference but it is worth a try. The research I have read suggests that RL tea just tones and prepares uterous for labour rather than bring it on.

Oh Ive got to go for a sec - back in 5

kayzr · 01/04/2009 13:47

That is how my labour with DS2 started Cosmo!!!! I have everything crossed for you!!

Cosmogirl · 01/04/2009 13:53

Thanks Kayz. Have been googling and some say could be a while still but as I am 40+1 hopefully not for me!

lastboxoftampons · 01/04/2009 14:28

Ooooh Cosmo! Exciting! Fingers crossed this is it for you!

Hi Gruff!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 01/04/2009 14:39

Hello! Sorry Ive been so crap but this baby businsss is a bit time consuming but fantastically worth it

All going ok except here, except she has been a bit slow to regain wt which was bit stressful but she'd gained a bit today so Im happy now Though Im still having to feed her 3 hrly including waking her night but hopefully only for another couple of days then I can let her wake me up.

Im still recovering somewhat from the rather unexpectedly large baby (no one had any idea how big she'd be until I was holding her in birth pool after!) Did anyone else feel like their intestines and everything else would fall out of them when they stood up?

Hope everyone is ok, sorry for lack of catch up...

Cosmo- did see your post about the mucus plug... fingers crossed it all will happen very soon for you.

BTW, I already cant remmeber what its like to be pregnant and Im looking back fondly at it.... what is that all about!!?

Got to go as Mini GYo is stirring upstairs ready for lunch.

bye for now.

Cosmogirl · 01/04/2009 14:43

Hi GYo! Glad it is going well with mini GYo. Gosh I really hope this is it for me....lol at fond memories of pregnancy....wonder if that will be me in a few weeks? Probably not...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 01/04/2009 15:59

ooh yes pls Gruff!

GruffaloSoldier · 01/04/2009 16:06

cool

I'm trying to ignore the two bags of mini creme eggs I've just bought that are calling to me from the fridge. I have a plum instead - not quite the same

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 01/04/2009 16:08

LOL
Ive been told to eat more to help make my milk more calorific... its fantastic... to eat what I want, though it will have to be short lived or it might go badly wrong!

I lost 1 stone 3 lbs from the birth itself!

GruffaloSoldier · 01/04/2009 16:11

Woah that is a big weight loss - blimey! Oooh I think I might be already practising for making my milk calorific The last couple of weeks I have started to eat sooo much. Its a standing joke now that I'm ALWAYS hungry.

So is your DH back at work now Gyo? Is he finding it ok??

lastboxoftampons · 01/04/2009 16:11

Wow, GYO! good for you! But to be fair, a lot of that WAS the mini!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 01/04/2009 16:19

oh yes that was easily the baby, placenta and other fluids etc. Think Ive got another stone to lose but dont know for sure.

DH back on monday but working at home this week due to london summit thing. He is ok as Im doing all the night stuff, as we dont both need to be up, working ok so far.

GruffaloSoldier · 01/04/2009 16:24

sounds good

Moosy · 01/04/2009 16:32

Glad all is going well with miniGYo, I'm still blissfully forgetful about being pg too, I have a feeling I'll be remembering pretty soon though!

Hope this is it foe you Cosmo, ooooooh just think, you'll be able to eat a HUUUUUUGE meal very very soon!

Cosmogirl · 01/04/2009 17:20

Things pretty quiet here...just called mw to check in with her re: plug and she was all 'oh could mean nothing....could still be days away'...Thanks luv! Ah well, will see what transpires overnight I suppose...I'm just going to try and eat and rest as that seems to be good advice.

Ahhh Moos I cannot wait to eat proper food again and get rid of the nausea! Also having really icky heartburn today which hasn't been a problem during the preg so wondered if that was an early labour sign...

Cosmogirl · 01/04/2009 17:27

Three guesses left...

Cosmo's syndicate: (actual due date - 31st March)

OhSnap - 1st April, 2.45am 7lb 5oz
LBOT - 2nd April, 1.15pm 7lb 6oz
Astarte - 5th April, 11pm, 7lb 12oz

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 01/04/2009 17:29

Cosmo, if you can bear it try sex... now some plug has come away there is space for the prostaglandins to mingle. {grin} I went from having a high posterior cervix to in labour in 24hrs so things can move fast. Also I didnt get my bloody show until i was in established labour...

keep us posted !

lastboxoftampons · 01/04/2009 17:41

Ooooh, I'm going to be right!!!
I have to get going and won't be on again tonight, but Cosmo, I'm thinking about you! Fingers crossed! and nevermind the mean old MW! It COULD be any minute!

Take care!!!
