Ooh Kayz that skirt is gorgeous! Are you going to buy do you think??

kayzr · 27/03/2009 12:01

Yes I am going to buy it. It's not too expensive and I love it!!

Diege · 27/03/2009 12:26

My Dad has just rung me. His GP thinks he might have skin cancer. He has a spot on his nose which he has had for years. A few weeks ago he knocked it somehow and it scabbed over. So he went to the GP and he needs it operating on and then they will send it for tests. He doesn't seem remotely bothered but I am really worried.

idreamofbeanie · 27/03/2009 13:26

Hi Kayz,

I don't know whether this helps but my mum had something similar - also on her nose and it scabbed over like your dads. Hers was a basal cell carcinoma (also known as a rodent ulcer/carcinoma). It is extremely slow growing and they don't metastasis/spread anywhere else. She wasn't given any options the first time - she had it cut out and they grafted a small piece of skin from behind here ear onto her nose to help it heal. That was 10+ years ago, it was done under local anesthetic and she has never had any more problems with it. It has barely left a mark. A few years later she had a second 'piece' and she saw a different doctor who gave her the option of surgery again or freezing it so she had it frozen. Again no mark and no problems. She has it checked every 10 years or so incase it needs to be frozen again but as it is not a worry as it won't grow quickly even if it comes back (that's not a worry with surgery). If your dad has the same thing I wouldn't worry.

kayzr · 27/03/2009 13:30

Thanks IDOB, I hope it is just that. They did mention a skin graft to him but they might take the skin from his bum. That is what was bothering him most.

lastboxoftampons · 27/03/2009 13:42

Oh, Kay just what you need! So sorry to hear about your dad, but like IDOB says in most cases those spots are localized and easy to treat. Fingers crossed that everything is okay with your dad. But...LOL about him being upset about having bum skin on his nose! I hope he's finding the humor!

That skirt is really nice and would do just the trick! I'm having a nightmare with Ebay at the moment! Looking for a dining table and chairs - I'm not SUPER SUPER picky, but I know what I like There are a few things that I really love, but they all seem to be way up north which is just too far for collection seeing as we don't have a car.

kayzr · 27/03/2009 16:58

ARGHHHHH!!!!

I just went to the toilet and I heard something get put through the door. So I came down and there was a card with mine and DH's names on it. "Ooooh" I thought.

Anyway it is a card for 'Freida'.

"To Freida Happy second birthday, sorry it's late(not that you'd notice as you are only 2) Lots of love Annabel(Old lady in red coat, shops in Co-Op and knows Mummy and Daddy).

This woman is ever ever so lovely but ever since he was born she has called Freddie Freida. I haven't seen her in ages and someone told me she had died, but obviously she hasn't. I can't begin to tell you how many times we have told her that Freddie is a boy. She often moaned at me for putting her in blue.

I suppose I shouldn't complain really, it can go with the rest of Freddie/Freida's cards.

I was told her DD was called Freida as her husband is German so maybe that is why.

Diege · 27/03/2009 17:18

Oh dear KAYZ . That must be super-ittitating, although as you say she has a good heart..Wonder if sh'll keep the frieda thing up as he gets older? .
TINKS, I am also an addict when it comes to children's clothes . My dds have far too much, some of which is only worn a few times usually because I've forgotten I've got it . I try and justify it by selling onto e-bay, but still, I daren't add up how much I spend...
Dh just left with older dds to catch train to wales - they should at youth hostel by 8ish, so hopefully will hear from them later.
Shame he can't take dd3...she has been at her most horrific these last few days...Still, hope to get her to bed early then I can relax!

lastboxoftampons · 27/03/2009 17:35

KAY! What a silly old woman! You'd have thought she would've confused it in reverse (ie if you had a Freida, she would've called her Freddie!).

Diege - try to enjoy your weekend. Maybe what DD3 needs is to be the center of attention for a few days

Have been embroiled on another 'Americans name their children stupid things' thread on baby names WHY do I bother!?!? I'm usually pretty good about ignoring that stuff, but this one thread in particular has gottne me really bent out of shape! Check it out if you're bored!

kayzr · 27/03/2009 17:37

I've seen that LBOT but not looked yet.

glaskham · 27/03/2009 18:07

evening everyone!!

Not been able to get on much still... ruby has decided she wants to start being awake lots now, but i wont complain as she looks adorable with her eyes open!!

She was weighed again yesterday and hasn't put weight on since the day she went into hospital when she'd lost some... she's currently 4lb6oz!! still a tiddler!!

kayzr · 27/03/2009 18:09

Oh my word Glask. Dylan is 15lb 7oz. It really puts it into perspective for me to think about it like that. He is almost 4 times her weight.

I'm glad she has her eyes open alot. They look so cute when they watch you.

Astarte · 27/03/2009 18:16

Dd2 is 10lb 7oz
She's gained 6oz a week since she was born!

Glask she might be titchy but totally gorgeous!

Diege with the clothes, especially Dd1.
Everytime I go to get the Summer or Winter clothes I head off saying to Dh "I won't get too much don't worry". Each time I drive back over-laiden, slightly sheepish and apologetic, trying to justify why they need each item that clearly isn't necessary .
Next is lethal for me.

They've just emailed advance warning for their online sale and I'm already mentally working out how much I could spend

Can't believe I forgot to mini preen that she smiled for the first time yesterday and NO it wasn't wind! hehehe x

lastboxoftampons · 27/03/2009 18:22

Aw, glask, Ruby sounds adorable! So glad she's doing well.

Hi Astarte! So lovely that DD smiled! Make sure you take lots of pics!

Kay - don't bother with that thread - it's so not worth it! I've just been labeled a stalker because I noticed that someone with the same screenname on another site is on here too... WHY did I bother!?!

Oh, well, off for the weekend. Have a lovely one everyone!!!

glaskham · 27/03/2009 18:25

i'm very tempted by the next sale too!! have known for ages as DH works nextdoor to a next store, but the exhaust fell off the car yesterday so we had a big dent in the holiday saving this mornign when DH collected it.... wondering if my holiday fund can withstand another hammering.... with the car and buying the wii last week i'm not too certain.... but if i find out DH has got full bonus then it'll be a massive spending spree for me!! haha!!

glaskham · 27/03/2009 18:28

Ast- thats fab!! I think we're starting to get Ruby's first smiles too... only first thing in a morning though, they are closed mouth smiles, and all her wind smiles are wide open mouthed grins rather than smiles!! haha!!

glaskham · 27/03/2009 18:32

Gutted- wanted to put some of my recent pics of ruby on here, but can't find my bluetooth dongle anywhere!! think the DC's have had it!!

kayzr · 27/03/2009 18:32

Yay Astarte for smiling DD. They are great when they smile. DS2 giggled at DS1 the other day. It was so cute.

glaskham · 27/03/2009 18:37

Oh and its odd how much weight everyone elses DC's are putting on so quick... she's only put on a total of 6oz since birth!! The outreach nurses from SCBU are keeping an eye on her weight gain though... i know it can't be my milk though as the other 2 put weight on no problems... think its just because of her size to be honest... i wont be letting anyone talk me out of breastfeeding though.

actually talking of breastfeeding, i might be becoming a breastfeeding star for blackpool!! could be on posters all over the area!!

kayzr · 27/03/2009 18:42

Wow that would be cool Glask!!

glaskham · 27/03/2009 18:53

yeah it sounds really good- i'd get trained up to be able to give breastfeeding support, and would be available to go and see other new breastfeeding mums in the area to try and help them continue to feed for longer.

The breastfeeding rates are so low here that they are needing something to help get them up again. As i have breastfed both the other 2 DC's and coped with a SCBU stay for over 2 weeks and a section and pumped my way through it i'm apparently an ideal candidate and they wanna recruit me... i'm just seeing if i have the time really... but dont wanna turn it down as it is something i feel strongly about.

Also am i the only one to have had a section on the wagon yet? have a few Q's about healing etc... but can't remember hearing any of us having a section...

kayzr · 27/03/2009 18:57

Playing had an emergency section but she isn't around much atm.
