SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 26/03/2009 14:44

Hi! Just had my annual review with my boss. Agreed a good performance rating and got some good feedback. She said if it wasn't for my ML, she'd be starting to get me to deputise for her in certain areas but that we could just postpone that until I return to work

NCT was good. Sounded v similar to others experiences. DH didn't moan but when I asked him what he'd learnt, he said nothing as he already knew it all! He also said he may need to miss 1or 2 due to work commitments. I won't really mind if it's just 1...
There are 6 couples in the group due between 6th May and 7th June. All seem nice with 2 or 3 that I think we could really click with.

Sorry for not catching up on everyone else properly - on phone... Hope you're all ok

NatalieJane · 26/03/2009 15:39

Hello

GYo, really beautiful name Will try and navigate my way round FB for a peak at the pictures - wish me luck!!

Glask, so glad Ruby's home now

Ses, glad NCT and your review both went so well

Kay, sorry for horrible headache

Diege, leak sound's like a mare Never just simple is it?

LB, really hope the gaviscon starts to make a difference soon, I have nil experience with reflux and the like, so no advice, but I have been thinking about you, it must be awful to see him in pain and not be able to do anything.

No good news here, it looks like we'll be able to just about do the mortgage in April, but May.....??? TBH, think we are reaching breaking point and we're both just ready to explode, everytime we think we have a plan, something gets in the way. I think how ever it ends up, it's not gonna be pretty.

Anyway, I am very pleased to announce Mikey seems to have cracked it, he is sleeping through now from 8/9pm, till we get up (somewhere between 5 and 6am mostly) It can't be just a fluke 3 nights in a row can it? (Someone agree with me please!) and he had his second injections yesterday, and that didn't unsettle him at all. Would be great if I wasn't led there awake, not able to sleep!

Diege · 26/03/2009 16:28

Great news about your review SES, and good that your boss is looking at future promotion etc .
Hi NAT! I would def say that Mikey's good sleeping is more than a blip - a definite beginning of a proper trend .
Sorry to hear how awful things are with finances etc..Would it be worth having a chat with someone like ther CAB to see what optionsare available? Could you possibly make interest-only payments for a while?
Hi HAPPY! How are things?
IDOB, I think Sept/Oct are going to be busy months on the wagon! Seems such a long way away but will come round soon I'm sure

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 26/03/2009 16:30

hi

kayz hope headache has gone
gyo - have added u as a friend on facebook
nat - sorry that not good news
well done mikey
bracken just wake @ 4am

Astarte · 26/03/2009 17:09

Trying to keep up but failing miserably.
Checking in Cosmo really

Hope things get better for you Nat. I think Mikey's sleeping through sounds permanent

Good luck for WW Kayz, how do you think you're doing?

Tink I haven't got their Summer clothes yet, don't need anything for Ds2 & Dd2 (the upside of numerous kiddies ), but will be looking in April for the older 2.

Gruff you should def be taking things a bit easier, you're nearly there now.

Ses & Diege you're hurtling towards M/L and the top of the list.

I've just booked my hols, so excited! We're staying in this country until dd2 is a bit older.
Going to Centerparcs at Whinfell in September & again in March. Got a great deal on the March one

Gotta go get tea on....might be back when someone isn't asking for something or a nappy needs changing or when the washer stops etc etc (next year then maybe)

OP posts:
Diege · 26/03/2009 17:41

Good to hear from you ASARTE - sounds like you are coping admirably ; is it really that much different with 4?? Please tell me it's just a case of a bit more watching and the older ones are mesmorised into silence and obedience by the baby??
TINKS, meant to say I have also started on the summer clothes thing - have had lots of bits from Boden, and have also splurged a bit with my marking money on stuff from Catimini and Oilily, esp for dd3 who still lets me dress her in what I want . I can't see myself getting half as excited about clothes for baby boy!

Diege · 26/03/2009 17:42

Bit more washing I meant, although 'watching' also works I think!

Cosmogirl · 26/03/2009 18:06

Hi Ast, I'm still here...just feeling really low and down at the moment so not posting much. Feeling sorry for myself I suppose. I just want it to be over now and I can't see an end in sight..

Astarte · 26/03/2009 18:32

Ahhh! Cosmo, the end is near I promise
I know how you feel, we all do
Each day feels like a week but you, bless ya, have had a bit more than us to cope with, with the sickness. You're due next week though, a big landmark! I hope to congratulate you before then though obv,

Diege you might well have that experience I personally feel it would be easier to herd cats towards the bath for a wash than look after my kids for the day.

I was checking out Boden today for the kids. Haven't bought there before. Are their clothes worth buying, wash well, good fit?
Have my eye on a Monsoon party dress for Dd1. She's just starting to assert her tastes in clothes. Needless to say, she frequently looks like she had a fight with a colour-blind tramp in Oxfam and came out the worse for it

Today has been a bit better, awaiting Dh to return with takeaway food, yum

OP posts:
Cosmogirl · 27/03/2009 07:15

Thanks Ast I know it is entirely my own fault for allowing myself to think I would be a 37 weeker and now the wait has seemed that much more painfully slow.

I have a midwife appt tomo morning and will see what is going on, but might beg to see if I can get an early induction if I go overdue. I will be giving birth on Easter Sunday at this rate and that is way to long away....I don't care about the pain anymore - one more day or being pregnant and miserable or labour pain? Labour please!

Cosmogirl · 27/03/2009 07:23

Let's see if Mystic Diege can get this baby to shift

Cosmo's syndicate: (actual due date - 31st March)

Diege - 27th March, 7.40pm, 71bs 6oz
Star - 29th March, 3am, 7lbs, 1oz
Ses - 30th March, 6.45am 7lb 10oz
tink - 31st of march 3am 8lbs3ozs
OhSnap - 1st April, 2.45am 7lb 5oz
LBOT - 2nd April, 1.15pm 7lb 6oz
Astarte - 5th April, 11pm, 7lb 12oz

kayzr · 27/03/2009 08:28

Morning,

Headache didn't really go at all. I've still got a little one now. So didn't go to WW as I just felt dreadful.

Astarte, I have a code for 15% off Boden and free delivery, It's RQAN if you want to use it.

Cosmo, I really hope that baby Cosmo comes soon. The last few weeks are always the hardest as they just drag along.

Nat, I hope DH's work picks up soon. I'm not sure what he does but I hope it picks up soon.

DH has applied for 2 jobs this week, so fingers crossed he gets one of them. If he was an electrican he would be fine as there is a job going here for £14.50 an hour. He was going to train to be an electrican but chose to do computers instead and there are just no jobs here in computers.

I'm struggling with my goth weekend outfit. I can not find a skirt I like that is cheap so I might go to Whitby next week and look through the charity shops as the always have goth stuff in.

Hope you are all well.

Astarte · 27/03/2009 08:46

Have you bought their stuff before Kayz. Thanks for the code. I'm tempted! Poo you didn't get rid of the headache

Good luck for the m/w Cosmo hopefully she'll say something like

"ooh can you not feel that contraction? I'd say you were 6cm!" hehehe x

FWIW I agree with Kayz, 37 weeks onward is def the worst.

We didn't have a good night, both Ds's have croupy coughs and are poorly sick . No one slept much last night. Both Dd's are sniffly, but seem okay in themselves, hope it stays like that for them

Why can't they be sick one at a time?

Well, LO's are napping, housework is done, they're all dressed, sooooo, idle fingers feel some shopping coming on.....

OP posts:
kayzr · 27/03/2009 08:51

No I haven't. I'd like to but can't really afford it. I think Diege has though. I'd think for the price they charge I'd hope they would be good clothes.

Diege · 27/03/2009 09:40

Morning!
COSMO, sending you lots of cosmic vibes for today, although I fear my prediction might be a bit premature! Good luck with the midwife, and let us know how you get on!
KAYZ, a day going around the charity shops in whitby sounds fab; I agree there are some great baragins there - got the dds checked school dresses from one last year when we were on hols
ASARTE, yes, I am a bit of a Boden addict. I love the styling, and there's always something for dd1 who hates anything pink and girly (as well as for dd3 who loves pink!). They wash and wear extremely well, and I also sell on Ebay/pass down and the stuff still looks great. One tip - check out the customer reviews as sizing can be a bit unpredictable. It's 10% discount and free p&p and returns through mumsnet usually, but as Kayz says they do have better offers at times. Sales are also good too. A warning though, once you start you'll be hooked
Suffering a bit today as cold has gone onto chest and found the school run in this wind a bit of an ordeal. Older dds are off to wales with dh for the weekend after school, and then me and dd3 will be staying at parents in wales for sat/sun.
Has anyone else got any plans for weekend?? (apart from Cosmo who will be having her baby )

idreamofbeanie · 27/03/2009 10:13

Morning all,

I'm wishing the hours away today. Tomorrow I am off to London with an old schoolfriend for a day of relaxation at the Sanctuary Spa. Sooo looking forward to lazing around then having a lovely massage . Afterwards we are meeting other friends I haven't seen for ages for dinner and drinks (no champagne for me though ). On Sunday I might have to go shopping for something to wear to this wedding next week. Sigh - I hate shopping but the trousers I usually rely on have really seen better days.

Cosmo - here's hoping while I am relaxing by the pool you are having your LO. I have everything crossed she comes soon.

Kayz - hope you find something for your goth weekend.

Astarte - poor DSs, hope they are feeling better soon. More to the point I hope they just sleep all day so you have plenty of shopping time.

Diege - have a lovely weekend in Wales. Lots of pampering from your parents sounds like the right way to get over a cold.

kayzr · 27/03/2009 10:45

Oooooh I may have found a skirt. Not sure though but maybe.

lastboxoftampons · 27/03/2009 11:05

Hello all

IDOB your day tomorrow sounds lovely! Enjoy it!

Cosmo Poor you! I know you must be miserable at the moment, but just think, in a few weeks at most, you'll have your LO in your arms and this will all be a slightly unpleasant part of a wonderful dream. {{{{{{{{labour vibes}}}}}}}}}}

Kay Fingers crossed for your DH, and sorry that your headache is still lingering Good luck in finding a skirt.

Diege sorry about your cold Everyone seems to be sick! But have a lovely weekend in Wales.

Ses congrats on your wonderful review! Nice to know you have exciting prospects on your return from ML - hopefully it will mean that you can fully enjoy your time off guilt-free!

So, we've booked our flights to South Africa for the end of April and are just firming up decisions on the safari bit! Think we're doing Madikwe, which is fairly close to Jo'burg airport and malaria-free for several days and then down to Capetown to be ushered around the wineries by friends who are living there! Am really excited, but slightly nervous! Not least of all becuase of the amount of money we're spending, but, as DH rightly pointed out, despite 3+ years of dating and 5 years of marriage, we've never ACTUALLY been on a full-fledged holiday together before! We've done mostly city breaks in Europe, a week at the New Jersey shore once and a Caribbean cruise with my parents and brother's family, but this is on another level. Except I kind of wish we had gone last year!

Ooh LBOX that sounds such an amazing holiday, and well-deserved too! You will have a brilliant time
IDOB, wow that spa weekend has come round fast!! And yes you must do some shopping on the Sunday, the wagon insists
KAYZ, sounds good going on the skirt front - have you found one on a website?
Well I have succombed to yet more retail therapy, spurred on by all this talk of Boden.... More stuff for dds, and one FINAL maternity purchase that I'm sure I will wear for the rest of my life - a long wrap type cardigan thing from IO that I'm sure I will live in from now up to birth, and beyond .

Ooh meant to add ASARTE that I couldn't get KAYZ's discount code to work for me (but then I may well have used it in the past) but just in case there's another for you to try ; it's M641 .
Right, best get the place sorted and out to Jo Jingles!
