Glask - so sorry to hear Ruby has been ill. Sounds horrible. Glad to hear she is getting the treatment she needs and fingers crossed for her safe return home on Monday.

Diege · 21/03/2009 19:18

STAR, that sounds very positive . Have been thinking about you a lot - hold on in there you're doing so well, and let us know how things are progressing when you get the chance xxx
GYO, I think I would give the midwife a ring now (if you haven't done already). Things are definitely progressing and I think you will have your baby in your arms by the end of the weekend. Once contractions are lasting a minute they may ask you to go in - hopefully they have a laptop on the ward

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 19:34

hello

Star- glad ok, will reply more when I can

Was due hwb but there is only 1 mw and she is busy... so may have to go in to hosp. Am waiting a couple of hours...

Cosmogirl · 21/03/2009 19:47

Diege · 21/03/2009 20:07

Hi GRUFF! Hope you feel better soon . Had forgotten about sunday being mother's day and possibly little gyo's birthday! Bang goes your mother's day lie-in then GYO for the next 18 years. Bummer about homebirth - aren't they legally supposed to be able to supply a midwife? (I'm probably making that up..)Sounds like it's all go - can tell by change on your posting style! Post when you can - will keep checking in

Cosmogirl · 21/03/2009 20:10

Hi Diege/Gruff, just realised it's my day on GYo's sweepstake tomo so come on out mini one!!! I want to win! Ast also has tomo so depends which time she/he pops out....

Sparklytwinkletoes · 21/03/2009 20:33

Evening all, busy day here playing in the garden and having some friends over for a catch up which has been really nice - hope the weather holds for tomorrow.

Star, good to hear from you, and glad your LO is making progress, it must be very hard for you so big to help you through.

GYo, hope this is it for you and if it is, that its straightforward for you! Look after yourself!

I think its LaTour's birthday today, so if you're lurking - happy birthday LTE!

I haven't been on FB for ages - I'm so busy with everything it seems at the moment, kind of need the world to slow down a bit.

I'll be 11 weeks on Monday, still feeling ridiculously tired and nauseous which I can only imagine as a good thing. Hoping DP is going to trun up and feed me soon

Best scoot, got loads to do , have a lovely day tomorrow everyone, either as mums or with mums or thinking happy thoughts about mums...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 20:49

Hi STT! Sounds like a lovely day you had there

Sparklytwinkletoes · 21/03/2009 22:00

Oh bless GYo, good luck with your contractions - but its not actually my birthday!!!

Good luck for the HWB!

lardybump · 21/03/2009 22:12

TMI alert... I have just been to the toilet (wee wee) and there was blood on the toilet paper after I wiped!!! DS is only a month old today and I am breast feeding, surely this can not be a period??? Should I go to GP to check everything is ok with the stitches and everything?? I didn't have a period for months after dd was born.....

kayzr · 22/03/2009 07:18

Hello!!

York, meet up, I'm there!!!! When???????

The party was great, Freddie had a wonderful time. My nice tidy lounge is now covered in toys. Mainly ones that make lots of noise.

We had a lovely time on the train yesterday. Freddie was telling everyone that he was on the train and that it was on tracks.

MIL did be slightly annoying. She said one of Dylan's feet isn't straight. We can't find anything but might take him to GP just to be checked.

Happy Birthday to LB's DD.

Glask, I hope Ruby is home soon. xxx

Hope you are all ok. GYo I hope mini GYo is here.

Cosmogirl · 22/03/2009 07:33

Morning all,

Hope all going well GYo. Been thinking of you during the mainly loo trips last night.

Morning Kayz - glad the party was a success.

Happy mother's day to all the mummies....Just hear about Jade Goody passing away - very

kayzr · 22/03/2009 07:38

It is very sad Cosmo. Her poor boys will wake up on Mother's Day and their mother won't be there.

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 22/03/2009 09:07

it is very sad
good luck gyo
glas good luck with rubyx

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 22/03/2009 09:23

Morning!

GYo - sending you nice quick & easy labour vibes across Surrey

Kay - sounds like Freddie's had a really good birthday

LB - I'm sorry, not sure what to suggest. Is there any more this morning?

Sad about Jade - especially on Mother's Day. I guess if it was inevitable, I'm glad it didn't drag on too long for her and her loved ones though IYKWIM.

Morning everyone else - tink, Cosmo and any lurkers!

DH came home from Twickenham very happy after Ireland's win. He managed to watch it on tv after seeing England win.
With Spurs beating Chelsea and Andy Murray beating Federer, it was quite a good day for sport in our house!!

Also spoke to bf last night. Her DD (my godaughter) is soooo cute. I'm amazed that even though she only sees me about 5 times a year she remembers me so well and she keeps telling her mum how excited she is about the baby coming. Apparently she said "When my Sarah's baby arrives, I will help and give it cuddles. When Sarah is feeding the baby I will be quiet until after she has finished." She was 3yo in October - I'm sucha pround Godmum!! I just hope the baby's on time as they're down this way and want to meet the baby 12-14 days after I'm due...!

(note: IDOB - I've done one of my essays now, you are not alone!!!)

lardybump · 22/03/2009 09:44

Just popping on quickly to check on GYO... Happy mothers day everyone... I got a card this year from dd and another from ds... bless him makes up for him forgetting last year...

no more blood this morning so am going to try and ignore it!!!

I wont be on now today as it is dd's 2nd birthday.... my baby is 2 i can not belive it..

Diege · 22/03/2009 11:10

Morning! Was also thinking of GYO on my nocturnal loo trips - have a feeling things are progressing and there will be a birth annoucement soon!
SES, that's so cute about your godaughter . Kids do remember everything don't they! Fingers crossed they're there at the right time to see mini-ses
LB, does sound like a period of sorts, and not unknown for things to get back to normal, even if bf. Quite unusal though, so may be worth having chat with hv/gp if you're concerned. Happy birthday to dd!!
Morning COSMO, TINKS, and lurkers!
Agree, very sad about Jade, particualrly poignant on mother's day . As SES says, in a way at least she is out of pain now and her family can start to grief.
KAYZ, glad Freddy had a good time yesterday - I'm sure the foot thing would have been picked up by now by the hv/gp - one of the things they look for in their check - it's really common for one foot to be slightly 'mishapen' for a few months - (my dd2 had something called 'congenital curly toe' that sorted itself out after 6 months or so) especially after being curled up for so long!
Re: York meet-up, how does some time in May sound? SES, with you being due then what's best for you?
Right, back to tidying for viewing at 3. dh has gone back to bed as feeling 'not himself' , no doubt aided by the copious beer and curry of last night .
A wry 'happy mother's day' to all!

Cosmogirl · 22/03/2009 12:09

Morning Diege - hope viewing goes ok later on.

I can't wait for GYo's announcement to come in! Getting very excited for her and Mr GYo...

Feeling a bit grumpy today though and not quite sure why.....must be silly hormones going up and down. Trying not to speak to DH too much in case I start picking arguments.

Diege · 22/03/2009 13:04

Hi COSMO! We have reached the stage of 'take us the way you find us' for the viewing after realising about an hour ago that tidying we had done was rapidly becoming untidy again courtesy of dds
Also very excited about GYO's announcement - I think we'll hear something by early evening myself
Hope your mood improves - I get lots of days like that, esp at weekend, though it seems to lift as bedtime for the dds approaches . Think you will def. be next COSMO! If you could make it either Thurs, Fri or weekend that would suit best

Cosmogirl · 22/03/2009 13:15

Too late...opened my big mouth and we've fallen out .......I'm just so up and down at the minute.

Arghhh I hate being pregnant!! Next Thurs or Fri would be great - I'll diarise it!

Will check back later to see if there's any news from GYo.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 22/03/2009 14:31

Oh Cosmo - sorry to hear about your falling out with DH. Mystic Diege seems to be doing well on current form so you haven't got much longer to wait!

Diege - re meet up, May could be difficult for me but then we're never going to get a date to suit everyone. DH has said he doesn't really want me travelling that far away from home that close before the baby comes (understandable I guess), Due date is 10th May and MIL & SIL have pencilled in to come over from Ireland wkend of 16th/17th May and then wkend of 23rd/24th May is when a good friend is getting married and bf is down (from York!) Maybe set a date and if by some miracle I can be there, great. If not, maybe I can virtually be there via internet or mobile phone!

Rant alert...!
I've just popped round to see Mum and am now doing my impression of the most evil daughter...
Well a couple of weeks ago we had the conversation about what childcare arrangements I was going to put in place when I went back to work and she made it clear that she didn't want to regularly commit which - tbh - was a relief as we've never had a fantastic relationship as she's always very controlling. To the extent where I had to ask permission to wear jewellery, put my stereo on in my room, etc even up to the age of about 16! She also thought discipline using bags of frozen food was perfectly acceptable. Having said that, she was sufferring from undiagnosed depression and so I try to put the past in the past as she is much better now.
When I popped round this morning part of the conversation went along the lines of:
Mum: I spoke to my friend in the week and she looks after her grandson 2 days a week. It made me feel quite guilty.
Ses: Why?
Mum: Well should I be doing something similar?
Ses: No, don't worry about it. Every situation is different and I didn't have any expectation that you would.
Mum: Am I a really bad mum then?
Ses: Don't be silly
Mum: Maybe I am. Am I a bad mum?
Ses: Stop it! I'll start agreeing with you if you're not careful.

She then changed the subject.
Sorry for mega post but part of me wants to turn round and say "Yes, you were crap. Do you remember x,y and z? You've never acknowledged it or apologised. You act as if it never happened and as if I'm now your best friend. It would really help me to move on if you would just acknowledge what happened."
I know it would open a huge can of worms though and would only achieve upset so no point.

Means you lot have borne the brunt this morning, sorry...

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 22/03/2009 15:34

On a lighter note...

Am recovered from my rant and we've just been out in the garden playing with the dogs. We gave each of them a bone which is a real treat that only happens about once every couple of months. True to form, Jessie is enjoying hers and not letting anyone near it. Lucy is playing with hers and took it off in her mouth to bury it. DH promptly unburied it and so she picked it up again and went running round the garden looking for a better spot where she promptly buried it again!

Hope everyone else is having good afternoons and thinking of you GYo!

Astarte · 22/03/2009 16:09

I can't believe I've missed GYo's birth
Are there any updates or news?

LB same happened to me. Not a period, but likely to be an indication you've done a bit too much recently. Take it a bit easier x
