GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 12:26

Hi Lb xposts. Sorry about the sick/poo etc

Cant believe how many DH/DCs are having bdays just now.

So far had Kays DS1, KKs DD1, LBs DD1, Diege's DH, Nats DS1. Then Stars DD1 being born and I saw on FB that it was one of the Wagoners birthdays but and hopefully we will have a few more births soon too. Clearly a good time of year

Im sure I've missed one too..

Astarte · 21/03/2009 12:30

GYo just wanted to suggest that direct deposits are most effective if, immediately afterwards, you come too. Apparently it dips the cervix into the ....er....deposit and sets off BH, which shoves you in the right direction

Besides, you shouldn't go without

thanks for the update glask, sounds extrememly frightening x

glorious day, off to garden some more.

Astarte · 21/03/2009 12:31

oh yes and stop chattering fgs, we're a third of the way through this thread and no babies yet!!!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 21/03/2009 12:31

Hi GYo! I definitely think Diege's prediction will come true! V exciting!!

I saw the birthday on FB - think it's STT.

LB - sorry you're all still struggling through the bug. I'm sure DD won't notice that she doesn't get a present on her actual birthday - might be better to postpone the celebrations anyway if you're all feeling so rotten. Hope DS doesn't get too badly affected by it. Take care x

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 21/03/2009 12:33

x-posts!! Hello Astarte!! Glad you've agreed a plan for the next few weeks. It really can't be easy trying to juggle 4 LOs (not literally!)

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 12:33

LOL hello Astarte

That particular approach (which I'm following to the letter!) and the cushion under the bum is what got me in this sitution in the first place! ... Hoping it will get me out of it too...

Enjoy the gardening and send some gardening dust down south to magically plant out vegetable seeds!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 12:41

Hi Ses, hows things with you Miss 2 more weeks of work!?

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 21/03/2009 12:57

Things are fine thanks. Just getting to the stage where I'm feeling frustrated that I can't do everything I want to or as quickly as I want to.
Ordered the cotbed and mattress yesterday and that's due to be delivered on my first Monday of ML!

Gorgeous weather here but I think the most gardening I'll do will be watering what DH has planted out - raspberries, gooseberry, blackberry, rhubarab and then pepper, tomato, chilli, chive and coriander seeds in the greenhouse!

Huge pile of ironing waiting for me but will try and do most of it whilst watching all the rugby this afternoon.

No news from Gruff this morning yet.... I still think you'll be first though GYo!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 13:04

Wow your garden sounds great with all those things growing. We are taking a first stab a growing stuff so will see how it goes...

Great news about cot delivery etc.... good to get that sorted and assembled etc.

I was wondering about Gruff too.... im sure she is basking in the sun somewhere...

Maybe Mini Gyo will appear first (since there was a months difference in our dates) but not sure of anything after being overtaken by all my NCT friends

Would be great to have same date and Cosmo too!

Right lunchtime.

BAck laters

Cosmogirl · 21/03/2009 13:32

Show and period pains sounds very promising GYo - things are clearly moving in the right direction for you.

No more 'stuff' here but keep knicker checking with ernest!

GruffaloSoldier · 21/03/2009 14:23

Hello everyone!

What a beautiful day!! Its so hot on our balcony

My Dad is down at the moment and I have been overseeing the fitting of a new kitchen sink which is almost done! Dad has been fitting it all morning. It looks fantastic!

No news here. Still getting cramps but Im not sure if thats just wind I also had another damp patch in knickers this morning which just looked like water. Not sure if it was just discharge but I don't think it was. Im keeping quiet for now though as it was only a bit.

I need Gruffette to hang on for another week at least as we are waiting for a part for a boiler to come before our heating can be fixed. Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news but end of next week will see return of cold snap so make the most of this lovely weather while you can!

Gyo - things sound very promising!I reckon you will be first and Cosmo will be next week actually. I may be the week after ??!!I bet I end up going to 42 weeks now

Ses - enjoy the gardening

Diege - I havent seen the film buy DH is reading the book at the moment. Im not sure he knows there is a film so I will have to tell him!

LB - sorry things are still bad for you. Hope evryone gets better soon.

Glask - Im so sorry for what you are having to deal with at the moment. I cant imagine the worry. I hope Ruby makes the speediest of recoveries and is home asap!

Cosmo - I think things are def moving along nicely for you! You will be before me Im sure. It wont be long now

Hi anyone Ive missed! My brain is fried!

Diege · 21/03/2009 14:24

Hello! Seems like things are moving along there nicely GYO, all ready for start of 'proper' labour tomorrow
Am very of this lovely weather you all seem to be having - grey skies here.
Good to hear from you ASARTE -sounds like you have a good plan re: a bit of help. I think I may well be requesting an early return to work if things get bad, just to get a rest! BTW, can you (or anyone else) recommend a good birthing ball? Saw some on the net with furry covers, but assume these are non-standard?
Must force myself to go out with dds 2&3 as dd1 at party and they are going stir crazy! Have also got viewer coming round to see house tomorrow afternoon so really must get the place sorted.
Have been thinking about York meet-up, and I think that we need to first of all arrange which month it will take place in - I'm thinking if we do it sooner rather than later (ie. some time in May) but then we have mini-SES to consider! So perhaps either some time April, or early June??? So that would be April, may or June . Any ideas?

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 21/03/2009 15:23

afternoon

dh left @ 7:30am for his week long skiiing trip 2 france with a few mates.
my mum has just arrived parents r staying over.
off 2 tesco later for an easter egg!! will b glad when they r out of the shops cant help buying them just taste so much better than chocolate bars.
cant wait ot take dd1 to clarks tom to get her sandals just luv there shoes!!
gyo - sounds like little gyo will be making an appearance soon
gruff - things in greenhouse sound great

Cosmogirl · 21/03/2009 16:07

Hi Tinks and Gruff,

Gruff - ah I hope you are right - would be great if things happened next week. 10 days until due date and time just seems to be standing still.

Diege - I reckon May or June would be better for me. April is likely to be a bit bonkers methinks....

Anyone got nice plans for mother's day tomorrow?

Diege · 21/03/2009 16:07

Hi TINKS! Good that you have your parents coming when dh is away - hopefully you can get a bit of a break!
Freezing out. Was quite funny watching everyone still in their summer clothes after the last few days rubbing their arms etc
dh out tonight, so I'm going to get my knitting out and wait for GYO's baby

Cosmogirl · 21/03/2009 16:08

Diege - I picked my (powder pink) birthing ball up from TKMaxx for about a fiver and it has been fab. Comes with a little hand pump.

Diege · 21/03/2009 16:10

Hi COSMO! I suppose May would be best for me, but probably maybe not for others. Early June would be OK too, though bear in mind I don't tend to get past 39 weeks .
Think mother's day will be a bit of an odd affair here as it'll be all hands to the deck getting ready for viewer (who no doubt will just be 'having a nosey' . Will feel a bit cheated if they put in an offer after having kitchen and bathroom done

Diege · 21/03/2009 16:11

Ooh thanks for tip COSMO - may check out my local branch

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 17:38

Afternoon all

Glad all ok Gruff Weather is really great isnt it.. Im secretly pleaseed about the cold snap . I bought Mini GYo a snow suit in the jan sales thinking it would be cold in March, and I'd be gutter if it cant wear it!! Thats sounds like Im very sure I will have a baby by saturday!

Hope Gruffette hangs on for your boiler bits to come and get fitted.

Hello Diege Great idea to set month for the meet up. May would be good for me, but would need to check with DH about doing a trip upnorth anyway...

Tink- yummy about the easter eggs, I know what you mean... I've never thought of just buying one to eat right now, always think they have to be saved for easter
Enjoy your parents staying, hope your DH enjoys himself.

Mini Gyo escape update- rather foolishly did a whole load of house work (instigated by DH who I think is nesting BIG TIME and since then achiness is getting more constant and stronger and maybe coming in waves of about every 15mins...Really not sure if its contracts as its just not that painful.

Been trying to ignore it but its getting harder to. Question for you experienced ladies, can it hurt between contractions (if that is what they are? or does discomfort/pain subside completely?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 18:10

ah you rotten lot, all buggered off when I need you!

Diege · 21/03/2009 18:32

I'd say you'll know when they are proper contractions. Everyone is different (mine start 5 mins apart, full-on lasting 60ish secs)but as a rule there is a distinct break between contractions so you know when they start, peak and finish, as opposed to general achiness/discomfort that doesn't have a distinctive pattern. I'd say that at the very least this is pre-labour, and at the most very early contractions that aren't as yet 'established'. Will keep an eye on thread this evening with virtual hot water, towels and double chocolate muffins for energy

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 18:42

Thanks Diege. There is definately a pattern now... around 4/5 mins apart but only about 40 secs each.

DH has put the tens pads on me so might try that as I heard it should be used early on.

Hope its not a false alarm

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 21/03/2009 18:47

Yay!! Just seen this!!
Glad Diege is around as I'd have no idea!!

Hope this is it for you GYo and not baby GYo teasing!

Starshinetiger · 21/03/2009 19:03

Hi Gyo - that sounds very promising. First time round, mine built up like that - are you at the stage of mooing through the contraction yet (or is that just me ?) For me, when I had to start really exhaling/mooing through contractions, that's when I knew with the pain that it was time - but we're all different.
Sounds like you maybe had better call the midwife. Shan't unfortunately be able to track this one, as I need to go upstairs to ward and express shortly, but shall check back in tomorrow.
Short update on DD - she is still paralysed and sedated at the moment - did start on tube fed ebm yesterday, but is having a rest tonight as she's having trouble digesting it. Hopefully will start again tomorrow. She did have a poo this afternoon though, so that's a good sign that things working well (these little things get us very excited!). If it is going to plan, they should start weaning the sedation off tomorrow evening with a view to taking tubes out by Tues evening, so keeping fingers crossed. Not had such a good day today because have stopped her feeding and been playing around with her sedation, but hoping tomorrow will be smoother.
Sorry not had time to catch up on all posts, but sorry to hear so much sickness around - wishing you all speedy recoveries.
Yay for new kitchen sink Gruff.
Will check in again as soon as can in next few days.
