Don't worry IDOB - I'm always writing essays!!

Didn't realise you and your DP were having to live apart atm. Must be v difficult. Does he travel up to York at weekends?
York is lovely - maybe we could do a 2nd meet up there at some point as I think Kay lives quite close and I'm sure there are a few others not too far off!

idreamofbeanie · 20/03/2009 15:31

That would be lovely Ses, it would be nice to meet some of you guys but it will be strange learning your real names!

At the moment we are taking turns to spend the weekend in either York or Cambridge. It was okay at first - we had both been working silly hours so not seeing much of each other before I moved out and we really made the most of weekends and had a couple of weeks holiday together - but it is a real drag now. I'm sure it will all work out in the long run. We both wanted to move north closer to family and friends. I enjoy my job in York and we love the area it is just a pain that it is taking ages for DP to arrange a job.

Have you enjoyed your day at home? Its so lovely and sunny here I wish I'd had the day off.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 16:30

Can imagine it is a real drag...

I'm just back from a quick walk with the dogs. I was breathless after just half a mile though

Third load of washing is in the machine. Think I'll postpone the ironing until tomorrow and I can do it whilst watching the rugby. DH is at Twickenham again for the England v Scotland match and is then staying on there to watch the final match between Wales and Ireland. He's warned me that he won't be in a good state when he gets home - especially if Ireland win the grand slam!!

Diege · 20/03/2009 16:31

Hi IDOB, good to hear from you . Would be very happy to take charge of your credit card .
SES, a York meet-up would be great - I can get there in a few hours from here on the train. Just name the date!

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 20/03/2009 16:46

hi diege - as long as you pay off next account within in the given time u dont get paid interest!! have a month to pay off. i pay it off as soon as amount goes online.
the bits in the catologue r much nicer than in the shop
no wont be getting bracken any bits for 6-9 months really maybe just a couple of new next outfits. dd1 had gorgeous next outfits for that size have 6 dresses,4 pairs of trouse lots of lovely tshirts and skirts

Diege · 20/03/2009 17:23

You are very restrained TINKS! That's my problem, I'm not self-disciplined enough to pay things off so quickly, and end up paying far more than I should!
Dds are driving me mad - just hope they pull out the stops for mother's day . Can't believe I'll have a little boy by next mother's day!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 17:26

ooh you are getting me hooked.. i cant wait to chose some outfits once I know what colours to buy...

might have a sneaky look online now

Hello IDOB- So long as I have some notice I'd come to a york meet up, any excuse to go up there as its a great city.

Not long now til your scan

I've just made chocolate cake, still in the oven. Shall I hand around slices when its cooked. I know I was meant to be resting today but got bored of tele and lying down was giving me heartburn

More achiness this afternoon which is good... and lots more showy stuff... Wonder if I will make it as far as the MWs rubber gloved hand on tuesday!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 17:30

ooh x-posts Diege.

So exciting for you to have a little boy to add to your family...

Diege · 20/03/2009 17:31

Yes please GYO - slice of cake would be lovely
Ooh sounds like a possible York meet-up is shaping up nicely. Once we have an idea of numbers I will get bossy and suggest some dates

Diege · 20/03/2009 17:31

x-posts with you too GYO! Meant to add I have a strong feeling you'll have your baby by the weekend

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 17:38

York will be great, as we can combine it with visit to my DH's best friend. I can leave the two of them with baby Gyo (unless we are bringing babies) and come along..

Ooh so exciting .

I am trusting your vibes Diege.... since you know about these things.. I just think baby is waaaaay too comfy inside, even though it seems to be running out of space by the hour!

Diege · 20/03/2009 17:50

Yes, mark my words you will start to feel contractions on Sunday night...don't expect baby before Monday though...

Cosmogirl · 20/03/2009 17:53

Some choccie cake over here please! Thanks.

Oh, hope things do kick off this weekend GYo. Any predictions for me mystic Diege??

York would be good for me too - not far on train either.

Diege · 20/03/2009 18:07

Sorry COSMO, my vibes show nothing for you this weekend ; they are glowing a little for GRUFF though . Would be fab if you could get up to York!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 18:07

Hurray for mystic Diege!!

I was just surfing for post birth food porn pleasures and found this site :

CHEESE

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 18:13

LOL at mystic Diege!!

GYo - I think I'd do a similar thing with York as my bf lives there but may depend on when it is and when baby arrives!!

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 20/03/2009 18:18

diege - i try to be a good girl. otherwise my shopping spirals out of control
i had a certain amount of money 2 spend on dd1s clothing looked through cat and made a list and added it all up. used to buy her way too many clothes which is why bracken is going to end up with so many. now i buy hwr just what she needs
for clarks on sun i have £50 max to spend

gyo - i am sure your baby will arrive over the wknd crossing everything for u

Astarte · 20/03/2009 20:12

I'm up for York!

GYo you are very kind for asking

We kind of have a plan, for the next 3 weeks Dh is taking some time off, if I'm struggling a bit after that we're going to look at hiring someone to help me out until I'm okay on my own, be that a cleaner, nursery nurse or mysterious woman who 'helps'

GYo I still think Mother's Day for you, it's just too cute not to

Diege get bossy!
I'll likely drive down, will have baby with me. Not sure whether Dh will come with the rest of the brood, but go elsewhere in York. What will you be doing fellow four-baby'er?

Hello Cosmo, Ses, LBOT & Tink and anyone else who is about (I think they were the last few to post)

glaskham · 20/03/2009 21:16

Hi all- posting and running off to bed again i'm afraid. But thought i'd update you on Ruby's progress so far.

What we've found out so far is that she has a viral infection (as long as the blood cultures taken yesterday, that wont be back till tomorrow evening, all come back clear anyway), which caused her temp to drop so low (30.7 at the lowest point) which caused her to get hypothermia... that then caused her organs to start shutting down, and her bowels went first and got dilated with air. then on top of that she had flem and snot etc on her chest and nose etc so she was swallowing that and because she couldn't digest it it was causing a whole load of problems for her.

As of this morning her temp was fully stabilised, they have now started reducing the temp of the incubator she's in and hopefully she'll still have a stable temp so will hopefully go into a cot tomorrow.

She's on a course of AB's for 5 days then should be ok to come home after that's finished all being well. So i'm thinking she may be allowed home later on monday.

It was the scariest thing ever seeing her being rushed off in an ambulance, but luckily she's fighting fit now!!

I managed a really good nights sleep considering, I was so tired i fell asleep almost instantly, though i did have to sleep with her sleepsuit she'd worn the night before under my nose for some strange reason... sure it's all excused in the situation!!

Diege · 21/03/2009 09:26

Morning . Glask, thanks for the update - that sounds extremely scary, and you and Ruby truly deserve to have things settle down in the next few days. It does sound like the worst is over, and you must try and rest as much as you can. Thinking of you both xxx
Hope everyone is well, and either relaxing or giving birth! Dh is out with the dds, and I am meant to be having a bath, but am easily distracted! Saw 'The Boy in Striped Pyjamas' last night - a brilliant film that I'd strongly recommend, but make sure you have a large box of tissues ready. Has anyone else seen it?

Cosmogirl · 21/03/2009 10:22

Morning,

Just checking in to let you all know there is no birthing going on here as yet...bit of stringy snotty stuff in knickers this morning but very small amount so don't think it could be the show....

Good to hear from you Glask and hope Ruby continues to make progress. Can't imagine how hard it must be for you.

Morning Diege - have heard about that film but not seen it yet. I blub at everything these days so maybe should wait until after the birth...

Ast - hope you manage to find someone to help out. Don't know how you manage with 4 - I take my hat off to you!

GYo/Gruff - any updates re: Gruffette/Mini GYo.

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 21/03/2009 10:42

glad that ruby is getting better it must have been traumatic

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 21/03/2009 11:33

Morning!

Glaskham - thanks for updating us. I was wondering how you were getting on. As Diege says, must be very difficult but it sounds like Ruby's doing much better and I hope that continues.

Diege - I haven't seen "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" yet but maybe I'll watch it when I'm on ML!!

I couldn't get comfy last night in bed and spent most of the night stopping myself looking at the clock as I knew I'd be disappointed that it was still v early. Then when I got up I was retching over the sink as I tried to clean my teeth, which I haven't done for months! Getting lots of movements this morning too! Going to try and have some porridge now and hopefully will feel a bit better then.
DH has gone off to Twickenham so I now have the day to myself - hoping to do a load of ironing and get the Dyson out upstairs.
It's a lovely day again and I've got a couple of the living room windows open - so nice to have some fresh air!!

lardybump · 21/03/2009 12:21

Morning I am still constantly clearing up sick, poo or wee at the moment so can not get on as much as i would like... DS has the bug now..... argh!!!!!!!!!!

DD is two tomorrow, I cant believe it and I have no gift for her yet as havent been out!!!

right must get dressed....

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 21/03/2009 12:22

hello

Glad you are ok Astarte- hope you can find a solution. 4 young kids is HARD work so hope you are cutting yourself slack.

Glask thanks for the update. Poor Ruby, and you must be very stressful.

Cosmo, shame no Small Cosmo junior yet but am sure she is getting ready and packed . Stringy snot is good news definately means its moving in right direction. I had mine for 1 wk before my update below.... but everyone is differnt.

Hi everyone else... hope I've not missed anyhting...brain is like sieve

Mini Gyo update: Think things are moving albeit slowly. Another "direct shot" of the protagladins last might (2nd time this week) seems to he helping as I woke up 2hrs later with really strong period pains that i had to properly breathe through. This happened on and off all night and woke up this morning to bloody tinged snot and Im really achey in lower back and lower bump. Went out to town this morning too to try and keep

Wondering if mystic Diege might be right with her predictions
