Morning again

Just back from the hospital. 2nd needle later (first one was blunt and didnt go in!) and they manage to get anti D into me. Fortunately I was only there for 1 hour instead of last nights 6hrs.

Happy Birthday Freddie! have a great w/e Kayz

Diege- good to have you back from Cardiff. Im shocked at your work. Hope they sort it out. Im on your behalf!

Thats good news that you had those contractions then gave birth shortly after... Im still feeling stuff but not like last night after the hospital...

Cosmo- glad you are ok now... hopefully Diege is right and the bowel irritation brings on something.
Since I saw a MW on Tueday and got prodded and poked enough last night my MW isnt coming today so i've escaped the decision about the S&S. Will see if nature does anything over the weekend.

Gruff- how are you today?

Nat are you lurking, thinking of you- hope all is ok and not too worrying at home.

Morning Ses- please send over some porridge when its made

Sorry to who I've missed, am not really with it after last night I think I will try and doze on the sofa today.

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 20/03/2009 10:10

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 10:15

Morning tink & GYo

Porridge pan now ready -yum yum!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 10:26

thanks Ses.

So, is it just 2wks now til you start maternity leave?

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 10:32

Yup! 2 weeks today is my last day!!

I'm really looking forward to it now. Will be strange next week when the person covering my ML is spending most of the week with me to do a handover. I can be a bit of a control freak and I'm just going to have to let go!

V exciting about your contractions (even if mild atm). Maybe a nice rest on the sofa this morning and then you could try a short walk this afternoon (avoiding Sainsburys!) to see if that kicks anything off??!!
I'm sure we'll be welcoming baby GYo in the next few days!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 10:36

Hurray for only 2 wks!

I know what you mean about the handing over thing, but you soon wont care, especially on the last day! , im excited for you.

Rest on sofa plus activity later sounds a great plan Ses... Will definately be avoiding sainburys and ANYWHERE with trolleys until after giving birth

When I told my usual MW, she said I was the 2nd person to have that happen that in a number of weeks, so weird.

Diege · 20/03/2009 10:37

Mmm porridge was lovely SES . I have had 2 thorntons chocolates with a cup of coffee so far this morning which is not good I know
Have ordered my final piece of maternity wear. A t-shirt from Crave maternity. That really is it now!!!! (unless IO do a spectacular sale...)

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 10:44

for more maternity wear purchases Diege... I think you are a closet version of Tink posting under a different name

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 10:46

Are you sure that's your final piece of maternity wear Diege??!!
I'm actually still waiting for a top I've ordered to arrive... Should be today or tomorrow. I guess I've got the excuse that I'm hoping to go through this again in the next few years!
Diege - how about the excuse of trying for DC5???!!!

GYo - sounds like Sainsburys needs to come with a warning for pg women about trolley bumpers!

Diege · 20/03/2009 10:54

GYO, yes I think I am TINKS alter ego.. Have to say I have been very pleased with topshop maternity's offerings (and IOs, crave, bm, seraphine, new look, etc etc...).
SES, you have very good reason to continue buying maternity thing if you are planning to have 4 Having said that I basically bought from scratch each time as was sick of what I had, plus time of year was different etc..No chance of number 5 here!!!!!

lastboxoftampons · 20/03/2009 11:17

Hello everyone!

KK - wonderful news about your scan!!!! Congratulations! Hoping you can now relax into the pregnancy and enjoy it!

IDOB - Yay for 12 weeks! Our scans are the same day! You're not in London, are you?

Kay - Happy Birthday to Freddie!!

Glask - so sorry to hear about Ruby having to go to the hospital But glad to hear she seems to be doing better. Take care.

GYO - Exciting about the contractions!!! And good to know you didn't actually feel them I think it's any day for you now!

Cosmo - Sorry about the dodgy curry tummy But hopefully it'll be worth it!

NJ - really sorry to hear you're in a tough spot but as others have said, you sound like you've got a great attitude and you'll pull yourself and your family through. Thinking of you...!

Diege - you're a mat wear FIEND!!!! Remember to leave some stuff for the rest of us! Seriously, I think there's a serious shortage of not just cute items to begin with, but of stock of those very cute items. Whenever I try to order stuff online, I'll find something I really like, click on it and find that it's out of stock!! GRRRRRR!!!! I've got a few things, though, that should see me through most of the pregnancy, but my problem is I just don't know what I'll look like towards the end!

I had recorded the LOs heartbeat on my phone for DH at the midwife yesterday and I played it for him when he got in last night - he loved it. He's really getting cute about the whole thing! I just met with our HR person to discuss ML a bit further - it's all becoming very real!

I don't have any ideas about whether I'm having a girl or a boy. At first I thought definitely boy, but then I was getting girl vibes. I saw my family this weekend and the concensus seems to be girl, but now I'm thinking boy again! Will truly be a surprise!!!

Oh and for anyone who was worried - after 4 weeks I FINALLY got my blood test results back and I don't have syphilis!

Cosmogirl · 20/03/2009 11:30

Hi all,

Diege - hope you get work thing sorted - that is well out of order and you aren't over-reacting at all to get h and s involved. Good work on mat clothing front I have survived on one pair of jeans, two bump bands, a dress, a few t-shirts and a sweater....but then I haven't been the most fashionable pregnant woman it has to be said!

Spoke to my mum this morning who called me a 'twerp' for eating a curry...nice! I am 26 going on 27 so not sure when I am old enough to make food choices.....perhaps when I become a mum myself?! Doubt it..

LBOT - good idea recording the heartbeat on phone. I wish I'd done that - would have been good to play to mum, siblings etc...

GYo - sounds like you should rest today after the night you've had, and you'll need all your energy if things start to kick off.

I have cousin in law popping for a coffee at 3 but apart from that nothing planned. I feel like I have more energy than yesterday thankfully and it is sunny here today which is nice.

Thanks for the porridge splat Ses! Yum yum....I had mine with lots of sugar!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 11:32

Hi LBOT!!

LOL at no syphilis - stupid blood test mix ups!!

Are you definitely going to find out the sex at your scan? Not long!!

I've got a day's annual leave today and so am catching up on some home stuff. Washing is in the machine and it's good drying weather. Must put fresh bedding on the bed and do a bit of ironing too...
Have been exchanging cute little emails with DH as well - oculd be another benefit of ML! He's agreed that we will go out for something to eat this evening - only to the Harvester but it seems a while since we went out just the 2 of us.
He's also suggested that "the baby wants me to take the dogs out on a long walk today"!! I'll probably take them out to the field round the corner later.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 11:38

Cosmo - why is it our mothers treat us like we are still 4 yrs old??!! When we're still MNing in 20 years, we must remind ourselves not to fall into that trap!!

lastboxoftampons · 20/03/2009 11:51

Hi Ses!

Glad you're enjoying your day off! It's lovely weather for housework if that makes sense at all. Nice and clear and sunny - makes me want to get everything cleared out and fresh.

LOL about your DH coming up with things for you to do and attributing it to the baby. I do that to DH a lot

Cosmo - LOL about the food choices. Pretty soon your choices won't affect just you!

Ses, we are finding out what we're having. I don't really want to know, but he does, so I've agreed this time around. Next one will be a surprise. DH said he made the girls at work cry the other day because they were asking him which he'd rather have and when he told them he had no preference, they didn't believe him. So he told them that it was already a little person that he loved he would'nt feel any differently if it were a boy or a girl. Perhaps I'm overemotional, but DH felt the LO kicking up a storm last night v. cool!

NatalieJane · 20/03/2009 12:41

Hello

...and goodbye, Mikey's just woke up, will try and get back but we've got DS1's party this afternoon, his birthday celebrations tomorrow, Sunday will be spent vegging no doubt and so it may be Monday before I'm back.

Have a good weekend everyone - hope Ruby makes a good recovery and Freddie has a lovely birthday Kay, sorry, really must go xxx

GruffaloSoldier · 20/03/2009 13:25

Hi there everyone!

Glask - so sorry about Ruby - I hope shes well and home very soon!

Gyo - nightmare about hospital! My hospital lost my blood and swab results from Monday too. Grr!

Cosmo - sorry curry didnt have the desired effect!Hang on in there.

Diege - def out of order of your work. Hope you sort it out

KK- congrats on scan!

Hello to loads I've missed!

I have been to hospital antenatal clinic today and consultant seems to think everything is ok so instead of going back two times a week (which is a right pain with hospital parking) I can go back in 2 weeks. Hooray! So looks like the Gruffette might be hanging on in there for a bit longer

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 13:28

hello all

LBOT- glad you dont have any dodgy diseases Very excited to find out what you are having... feels like time has gone really fast for you (am sure you dont think so!!)

Hi and bye Nat! enjoy party etc

Been trying to doze on sofa but DH rang and I stupidly left phone on ring not silent. Having said that if I hadnt answereed he would have rung land line in panic!

Im offiically the last to give birth in my NCT grp. The C-sect lady was done this morning... Weird being last, there will be a month between me and the first one now!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 13:31

x-posts there gruff

Hurray for everythting looking well. Did you see a different consultant today?

What is it with hospital losing things? so annoying!

Hosp carparking is a pain isnt it. Its usually packed so you have to circle for age to get a space and then its really expensive.

Last night cost us more than £10! So we actually bought a weekly ticket as I was going back today, that worked out cheaper, especially if we have to go in again this week!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 13:43

Astarte are you lurking? wondered how you are? as you've sounded quite tired this week....

Will put kettle on i think...

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 20/03/2009 14:10

hi

waves @ tinks alter ego (diege) u sound just like me.
i have ordered all dd1s summer clothing from next use my next account and then pay off in a month. she is in 18-24 months even though she is 3.5 years very small for age. summer clothes i have ordered in age 3-4 years bought a top in age 3-4 years in tesco to try on her and it fits great
buying her sandals in clarks on sunday.

GruffaloSoldier · 20/03/2009 14:11

Gyo - parking ticket sounds like a plan.£10 yes was different consultant was really lovely!

Ive got to dash to tesco now as dad is coming today and I have no teabags!or anything for dinner!but will be back on later!

Diege · 20/03/2009 14:28

GYO, you must give birth this week just to get your parking money's worth
NJ, good to hear from you. Sounds hectic, but fun!
TINKS, I try not to buy stuff from the directory as the interest is a killer, but if you pay off quickly not a bad plan . I remember you saying you wouldn;t have to buy anything for dd2 in a certain size after unearthing dd1s things - do you think you'll stick to that??
Your hospital visit sounds positive GRUFF - must be a relief not to have to nbe there every 2 minutes.
Off to get dds in a minute, so speak later x

idreamofbeanie · 20/03/2009 14:35

Hi LBOT, I'm in York not London unfortunately. Just had a funny image of us meeting in the waiting room and calling each other LBOT and IDOB - people would think we are part of some strange cult ! Hope you get some great pics from the scan. We are planning to find out the sex at the 20 week scan too.

Kay - Enjoy the birthday party, hope Freddie has a great time and the kids eat all the food. Party leftovers are lethal when you are trying to lose some weight aren't they.

Glask - so sorry to hear about Ruby having to go to the hospital and I hope you managed to get some rest last night.

GYO - how exciting that mini-GYo might arrive over the weekend. I'm going to spend the next 6 months reassuring myself that you don't feel contractions and trying to convince myself that is true right through the birth !

Cosmo - Sorry the curry didn't have quite the right effect. Hope you are feeling better.

Tink/Diege - I hate shopping, partly because I am a bit overweight and struggle to find clothes that look good and partly I have just always hated shopping. How about I give you my credit card and you pro's can buy my maternity clothes for me?

NJ - I'm so sorry you have all these worries. The worst part is not knowing what will happen over the next few months - it makes it so hard to plan doesn't it. I moved to York last year expecting DP to transfer up a few months afterwards but with the world of banking going to pieces it hasn't happened and we are still living apart and struggling to pay for 2 houses (1 mortgage and 1 rent). We have no idea how we'll manage if he can't get a job here soon (does he take redundancy and hope something comes up or do we manage apart for longer) or if we can't rent our old house (not a great chance of selling in this climate) when he does. I hate not knowing where we stand and I was also really worried how we would cope as a couple - especially now I am pregnant which is great but another worry too. It has been tough but we have made an effort to keep talking and we are as close as ever. Sorry if that all became a bit me me me - I just wanted to say I understand the stresses of this bloody recession and sympathise and you shouldn't feel bad about moaning. Plus you sound very grounded and like you know what you want (hope that isn't patronising) so I'm sure and DH will come through this fine and find a solution that works for your family.

idreamofbeanie · 20/03/2009 14:36

Oops - what an essay .
