Hi everyone!

So much to catch up on...

NJ - I wish I could do something to help. It sounds like you're really trying to burden the load at the moment to protect DSs and DH so please feel you can let off steam on here. I really hope something comes through for you.

LB - sounds like you've had a really rotten time. Take care of yourselves and I hope you're all feeling better soon.

GYo - for you at woman in Sainsburys!! A clumsy accident with an apology and concern for your welfare would have been one thing but her behaviour was rude to put it mildly. Just grateful that it wasn't worse but boo for another Rh jab.

I've had a chuckle at some of the other conversations on here today

DH is working late tonight so I've got the place to myself for another couple of hours and get to cook my choice of tea! I've gone for tinned tomatoes with frozen peas, chopped mushrooms, chopped carrots and pasta all cooked together!! Sounds odd now I've put it down on here but pretty healthy and what I wanted!!

Sorry for anything I've missed - will be on a bit more tomorrow as I have a day off work (I feel quite pleased with how I've planned my last week's leave to have odd days here and there - think it's really helping!)

idreamofbeanie · 19/03/2009 20:11

Hooray! 12 weeks today and I get to see the bean in just 3.5 days . Just as well, I am about to explode with impatience.

Gyo - sorry about the horrid trolley lady. I am she didn't even apologise.

Astarte - don't feel guilty about the disposables. I can't imagine that doing 2 loads of washing is any better.

Cosmo - sorry you are feeling crap. LOL at prostaglandin poisoning.

LBox - hope you get some great pics from your scan. Do you have a feeling whether its a boy or a girl.

Tink - I'm so impressed at all your aerobics classes. I am feeling really out of shape - I walk to work which is 25 mins fast walking each way and I play squash at the weekend (was told to give up at 12 weeks though) but I'm being really lazy otherwise. I used to play rugby but obviously had to give that up. I hate swimming and I'm not sure what else I can do - would a short jog really be bad? I'm not very fit but take things slowly and try not to get too hot. I don't want to put the baby at risk but I think being fit would help me cope with pregnancy/labour better. Or maybe I just want to see a bump thats not all me .

Sparklytwinkletoes · 19/03/2009 20:37

Cosmo - mine did too first time round although I seem to be getting by (touch wood as still only 10 weeks) much better! I stopped puking at about 38 weeks but still felt off till after I'd had him. Was so weird not having the MS but wonderful too!

My first night home (3 days after due to CS), DH cooked me a wonderful dinner of prawn cocktail (couldn't eat them at all), a medium rare steak (no point eating them well done!) and he'd bought lots of cheeses (brie and stilton) but I was so stuffed by that point I couldn't eat all of it. I washed it down with a lovely glass of red wine and DS slept through it all . Bliss.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 19/03/2009 20:40

IDOB, I know you said you normally hate swimming, but you might find that changes - especially when you get bigger as it supports the weight, and bobbing around in an aquanatal class can be really relaxing and surprisingly energising.

Cosmogirl · 19/03/2009 20:41

Sounds heaven STT...... I can't remember what it feels like not to have that constant nausea feeling in your throat. I haven't thrown up now since around 27 weeks but since then it has just been day after day of feeling sick and being careful what I eat, but not actually being sick....

Curry seemed to go down ok earlier so hopefully it stays put!

kookykid · 19/03/2009 20:45

Hi everyone! Sorry to dash in and out again... am having a manic week.

The great news in the scans went really well yesterday, in fact they probably couldn't have been better! The heart specialist said the heart looked completely normal and the consultant told us from the detailed scan that he did that again, as far as he could tell everything was developing completely normally and that 20 week scan should be fine. As you can imagine I haven't stopped grinning since! It was amazing that the measurements that they were taking were so tiny.... The heart is about 1cm and even the femur was less than 2cm. Incredible!

Then when we got back from the hospital later my ILs had arrived and then spent the rest of the evening entertaining and preparing for today, which is my DD's 2nd birthday. just haven't stopped all day - had a few kids here and luckily we were mostly out in the garden. DD has been spoilt rotten but has been so good. Can't believe my littel girl is 2!

Tomorrow we are off for a weekend at Cetre Parcs with friends, so now got to go and pack. See, told you? manic! Hope toc atch up properly next week. Hope I haven't missed anything crucial.

Thanks Sparkly, I'll give swimming a go I guess. I just find it boring and I'm so slow I never feel like I've had a good workout. I've been told the pools in York aren't nice either which puts me off.

idreamofbeanie · 19/03/2009 20:49

Hooray Kooky!!! Glad the scan went well. Have a fantastic weekend.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 19/03/2009 20:52

Hmm, I don't suppose that would inspire me too much...got any country club / private pools?

KK, so glad / relieved to hear from you! Was beginning to worry about you - promise not to do that again!!! A belated Happy Birthday to DD.

glaskham · 19/03/2009 20:53

Hi, sorry but i'm going to post and run off to bed.... The SCBU nurse came out to see Ruby and within the time i'd called and her arriving she'd gone floppy, unresponcive, and cold to the touch, ended up being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Its not as bad as initially thought though, she's in tonight being kept under constant observation, (and i have come home to sleep after a bad couple of nights with her then i can be fresh for whatever tomorrow brings)

Its thought she might have a viral infection. He temp is slowly rising, she's on 10 different wires/drips/tubes etc and looks so different to the baby girl she normally does. As we were leaving she was starting to open her eyes a bit and looking more responcive, all her bloods are fine, she's all normall now really expect for not feeding properly since this time last night and still being a bit floppy as of when I left. She was making pretty fast recovery while we were there, and hopefully she'll be back on track tomorrow morning when i go so i can feed her.

Will keep you all as updated as possible.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 19/03/2009 20:56

Oh Glask, so sorry to hear that about Ruby - hope you can get some kind of rest tonight in the knowledge she's making a recovery and in safe hands, give her a big kiss from me in the morning. Love, STT.

Cosmogirl · 20/03/2009 03:37

Curry = bad idea....dodgy tummy now. Knew it was a mistake and mws go around recommending it....Thought I'd pop on as up and saw Glask's message. Glask, you poor thing, that must have been really frightening. Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight and things are better in the morning. Thinking of you x

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/03/2009 07:10

Morning all

Glask- sorry to hear that Ruby is poorly- glad the hospital are looking after her now. Hope you were able to get some sleep last night before going back to be with her at the hospital today.

KK- hurray for the fab scan, enjoy your thoroughly deserved w/e away!

Cosmo- oh no about the dodgy tum. Did you get some sleep eventually?

Well- I had an interesting evening!

Went to hospital after the trolley bump and thought they'd just give me a shot and send me home but no!

I got hooked up to the monitor for an hour and had 4 lots of blood taken and then just had to wait on the ward. The delviery suite was packed so they were really stretched.

Trace was fine and even showed im having mild contractions that I didnt really know about [grin. Eventually, at 10.00pm the MW came and suggested I stay the night as the my blood samples were lost as was the anti D jab that had been prepared for me . Being a bit of a hospital phobe, I said I wanted to go home so had to wait to see a doctor and have more blood taken. We got home at midnight!! By which time I was feeling those mild contractions but nothing has come of them during the night.

About to set off for the hospital shortly to get the jab now. After a night of virtually no sleep (remind me to never eat a sandwich at midnight again!) I will be coming home and going back to bed Poor DH looked exhausted when he left for work at 6.45am.

kayzr · 20/03/2009 07:51

Morning,

Glask, I hope Ruby is better today.

Kooky, I'm glad everything went well with the scan.

Cosmo, Get plenty of rest.

I haven't read through as it has been hectic here. Freddie is 2 today!! So won't be on again until Sunday probably so have good weekends!!

kayzr · 20/03/2009 07:53

This is what happens when instead of going back to sleep after being woken up by DS2 you have GOF instead. I read GYo's post and for some reason thought it was Cosmo.

GYo get plenty of rest. Grrr at trolley!!

Diege · 20/03/2009 08:42

Morning! Back from Cardiff, though found the travelling very uncomfortable and of course they couldn't turn off the heating on the train as it was 'programmed' to stay on until April!!! Never realised GB rail was so high-tech
GYO, what an eventful night! Don't think it will be nuch longer for you now. When I went in at 39 +1 with dd1 because of high blood pressure they could see I was having contractions on trace but I couldn't feel anything myself - then when I got home I started feeling them (mildly) and had her that night . Can't believe they could lose your bloods etc - how incompentent . Good luck for this morning anyway!
COSMO, hope your tummy feels better soon - so the curry did have some effect then! They say stimulated bowel = stimulated uterus though, so you never know may lead to something later!
GLASK, sounds like Ruby is recovering well - how scary for you . Hopefully she will be back to her usual self in a day or two . SES, hope your nephew is doing ok too - sounds like he is slowly recovering x
KAYZ, happy birthday to Freddie . Hope you have a lovely day and weekend.
Excellent news on scan KK - hopefully all the trauma of the last few months can finally be put to rest now
NJ, have just skimmed through but very sorry to hear about your housing stresses etc - must be very worrying . You have such a strong, positive attitude to life though and I know that you and dh will see it through together. Let us know how things are going, and freely rant as necessary!
All fine here, although house is a state and can't seem to muster up the energy to do anything other than the day to day stuff. Really looking forward to maternity leave - just 6 weeks left

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 08:44

Morning!

Happy birthday Freddie
Kay, hope you all have a great time!

Cosmo - sorry for curry effects. Hope you managed to get some sleep and that things clear up and start happening for you soon.

GYo - hope all goes well with jab and hospital trip this morning. Take it easy!

Glask - how awful for you
Hope Ruby's doing much better today.

Kooky - great news about your scan! Really pleased for you.

IDOB - not long for your scan now!! That 12 weeks does seem to have gone quickly (maybe not for you...!)

Sparkly - that first meal your DH did for you sounds great - I must start hinting!!

LB, Star, Playing - if you're lurking, hope all is going well with your LOs.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 08:46

Sorry Diege - x-posted! Good to have you back from Cardiff
6 weeks til your ML doesn't sound v long at all - makes me realise that 2 weeks today is my last day!!!

Cosmogirl · 20/03/2009 08:52

Morning all,

Feeling bit better now after a rough night! Did finally manage some sleep eventually. I am swearing off curries for quite a while though.

Sounds promising GYo - are you still going ahead with the S and S today?

Diege - not long until mat leave for you then - that must feel good.

KK - forgot to say yesterday, congrats on your scan results.

Kayz - hope the party goes well and MIL behaves herself!

IDOB - congrats on reaching 12 weeks milestone and here's looking forward to a good scan for you.

Hey to everyone else.

Diege · 20/03/2009 09:22

SES, the 2 weeks will fly by! Doesn't seem so long ago that we were worrying about early scans!
COSMO, glad tummy seems to have settled down and you got some rest

Am a bit with work. Need to sort out some help carrying over equipment to lecture theatre (risk assessment requires this, as do I!) and IT bloke replied saying they had no-one to help but I could purchase a trolley from Argos and do it myself . Not really in the spirit of 'duty of care' I'd say, not to mention the 2 flights of stairs I need to negotiate!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 09:24

Diege - not suprised you're
That's ridiculous!!! Can you follow it up with your boss or whoever did your RA? Whatever you do, don't give in!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 09:31

Right, I'm off to buble up a pan of porridge

Diege · 20/03/2009 09:35

Thanks SES . Have just fired off an e-mail to health and safety, plus my boss, and was worrying that I was over-reacting. It took me 20 minutes to get the stuff there last week, and 20 mins back, and had awful bh as a result (lifting an overhead projector is a nightmare), so hopefully I'm not making too big a deal of this.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/03/2009 09:42

You are definitely not making a big deal of it! It would be reasonable for you to ask for help anyway but the fact it's in your RA as well....
