Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 15:41

So glad Nutty & Springy have been in contact.

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 15:42

I had a blue streak put in last week... (not down low) I should have had it cut at the same time but I wanted to get it done closer to the time so I could wait longer after the baby is born.

BoffinMum · 04/03/2009 15:47

DH is doing prep in anticipation of painting. He also has painting clothes on. This is looking promising.

I texted Nutty again some time ago with no reply, but my guess is that she has been admitted to hospital.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 15:49

I actually hope she has been admitted. At least she ought to get looked after there.

She has had such a grim pregnancy poor girl. Can't imagine she will ever want any more babies after this one.

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 15:50

Let's hope so.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 15:51

Blue streak v. adventurous Bleu. I was just thinking of plain old blonde myself. Desperately needs a cut. A combination of harsh winter, pregnancy and a DD who likes to nibble the ends as she dozes off has ruined my hair.

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 15:52

I'm telling you it's all a plan to get an early CS so she can beat me!!!!!

She has had the worst pregnancy tho bless her....

Come on then any more thread ideas - we can't let it get as close as last time!

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 15:53

LuLu, no not yet, am still debating on whether to go before or just after - might well book it in for my first day of mat leave (also my due date!)

purplemonkeydishwasher · 04/03/2009 15:53

Oh, just wanted to add a couple things to Boff's BF tips:

  • often there will be pain in the first few seconds of feeding. that's normal. if it lasts longer than a few seconds (ie the whole feed) there is a problem with the latch and positioning. even if someone tells you it looks ok. it's how it feels that matters.
  • NOSE TO NIPPLE. if you put your nipple to the baby's nose that forces the baby to lift it's chin to latch on. try to drink something with your head tucked into your chest, or looking over your shoulder. it's impossible.
  • if you have to have your finger moving some of your boob away from the baby's nose so it can breath then you need to change your positioning. a baby's face is shaped so that it's nose should never be blocked when feeding. and you can get mastitis if your finger is blocking a duct.
  • it's not recommended to use a dummy or give a bottle within the first 6 weeks (which is generally how long it takes for BF to be established) it can cause nipple confusion and effect supply.

-SKIN TO SKIN. it really is the key to the whole thing. if you are having troubles turn the heat up, strip off and take baby to bed with you.

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 15:54

that was with regard to sorting my hair out fyi!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 04/03/2009 15:55

so shall we take bets on who's going to be the lone pregnant one?? i'm going to go with me.

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 15:57

I reckon it will be me after all my yelling about it!!!

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 15:58

Ok also tips on getting the baby to go down further - I am 4/5 engaged but want the little blighter trapped in there good and proper - any tips?!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 04/03/2009 15:59

you'd have to be very very very late then BB!

gingersarah · 04/03/2009 16:01

Bleu, blue streak sounds good! At the front?

Poor Nutty. I can't imagine how today must be for her at this stage when she probably has so little emotional / physical endurance left after everything else to date.

I am getting mildly obsessed with these:

www.kaboodle.com/reviews/tummy-tub-5

They are probably a gimmick, to prey on pfb parents like me, only last a few months, serve no real purpose, etc etc etc. But.... every time I look at a picture of a baby in one, it makes me feel all soothed as if the baby is sending happy contented vibes.

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 16:01

I might take after Boff....

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 16:02

Yes I don't think that you'll be that late BB.

I do think your second episode title is a good one too.

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 16:02

Oooh they are very cute GS!!!

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 16:04

Ok we can go with the second one in honour of smuttynuttytaff!!

Due April 2009: Episode 17 - We're off of work and ready to push, time for DH's to attend to that bush!!

WIll set it up as we get a bit closer to the end of this one!

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 16:07

Streak is nearish the front on the side... I got it to fight off middle age... I had one about 6 years ago and really liked it even though it made everyone shocked and I got a lecture (albeit gentle) from my boss at the time...technically I could have been fired.

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 16:09

Did any of you expert mums do anything rebellious after your LO's were born - like go and get tattoo'd or change hair colour?

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 16:11

I have a BF class on Friday - will be interesting to hear what they say compared to your tips xxx

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 16:13

Dh wants to know about me, the pregnancy, hot tubs and spa treatments...Doesn't that sound expensive too? What am I supposed to do?

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 16:16

Bleu, just tell him you are not allowed them!

CAn you have a chat with him tonight and just say you are a bit worried about money and would rather spend the weekend with him at home getting ready for the baby than off somewhere?

BabyBolat · 04/03/2009 16:17

it's nice that he wants to spoil you xxx
