Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 21:46

I'm hungry, what should I eat? All of the minstrels are gone. I feel like having a glass of milk and a biscuit but that's not very exciting, is it?!

PuzzleRocks · 03/03/2009 21:47

Chin chin Swali.

PuzzleRocks · 03/03/2009 21:49

Cake?

Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 22:02

Oooooooo, I do have some lemon cake. I also fancy some shreddies.....with lemon.

PuzzleRocks · 03/03/2009 22:04

Oh don't. I really want some shreddies now. All I have is muesli or porridge.

Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 22:19

We have frosties and cheerios as well.

Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 22:20

Oh, we also have weetabix.

Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 22:21

Has everyone gone to bed?

Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 22:24

I guess that I should take the hint and go to bed.

Night all x

conkertree · 03/03/2009 22:24

hmm just had two chocolate cookies - not sure the glucose in urine thing has had the proper effect on me - must cut down on sugar just incase.

I too shall still be partaking of the odd beverage while bf - did with ds - very small amount when he was tiny, but slightly more the older he got - but still moderate amount - and as was said - if going somewhere i knew i'd have more than a couple of glasses, i expressed.

conkertree · 03/03/2009 22:28

yes off to bed here too - either speak to you in the morning, or in four or five threads time when i get back from holiday. hope the expected babies eg barbarellas come by then, but the rest stay put for a wee while longer.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 03/03/2009 23:08

Just got back from NCT breastfeeding class - vvv interesting, loved the video on skin-to-skin and how the newborn wriggles his way up Mum's tum to get at the boob... twas too cute!

Good night all you gorgeous sleepy ladies...

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 23:23

Everyone off to bed and I'm up anxious and incapable of sleep... but at least I caught up with the last 100 posts now I'll only be behind by 400-800 tomorrow

BoffinMum · 03/03/2009 23:55

I am just going to log off now. DH massaged my glutes for me so might actually have a good night's sleep for once. Night night! xx

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 00:02

I wonder if that makes me the last person on? Checking emails and wondering at the amount of money Dh wants to spend on a biketrailer...not too wise really considering the lack of new contract yet...

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 00:13

Read this: "Boffins have revealed that an asteroid big enough to destroy London almost hit Earth yesterday" on Yahoo attached to this news story And had to smile. I imagined Boffin family standing outside their home announcing science-y news stories...

Bleuravin · 04/03/2009 00:26

Right, I'm going to try to go to sleep again...if I'm posting nonsense in an hour things are quite bad...but then it might amuse the first couple of people up tomorrow morning...

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 07:24

Morning!

Goodness all that chat about drinking and breastfeeding has made me really fancy a glass of champagne. And it's only 7:20am. Oh dear.

I really cannot drink more than a thimblefull at the moment. I have a drop of red wine every so often with food but any more gives me wretched heartburn. I am looking forward to being able to enjoy a cold glass of wine on a hot summer's evening. Bliss.

With DD I remained abstinent for the first 6 weeks after she was born and then enjoyed a few tipples - on one occasion waaaay too many tipples when a school friend helpfully turned up to 'wet the babies head' on a hot sunny day with a bottle of champagne AND a bottle of Pimms. Like a kid in sweet shop, I couldn't decide which to have so had both. DD slept throughout the following day .

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 07:26

Schulte - I can't imagine sleeping on a shower curtain would be very comfortable. So crinkly! I will have a look for the washable ones in mothercare but I found boots incontincence pads did the job last time. Must remember to buy some.

BoffinMum · 04/03/2009 07:36

Bleu, how do you know that the Boffins don't regularly stand on our doorstep making pronouncements on scientific matters??

Re: Mattress protection, I have never needed it for waters breaking as mine don't, but agree waterproof covers feel horrid. My compromise thus far has been a breathable woven artificial fibre one which is really aimed at the anti-allergy market, but it is still quite odd to sleep on, so I think I might treat myself to this.

I'm more worried about breast milk etc after the event tbh. We bought a very nice sprung memory foam mattress recently and I want to look after it.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 07:43

I'm picturing all the Boffins on the roof gazing at the stars like the final bit in Third Rock From The Sun.

Boff - I'm concerned about breast milk too. Our mattress is old, but nevertheless will be getting a new mattress cover to protect it from the dreaded stale milk stench. And despite being a huuuuuge fan of feather duvets my lovely goose down one will remain in the loft and I'll be using our old foam one (usually the spare) until I finish breastfeeding.

BoffinMum · 04/03/2009 07:48

That sounds like a plan, Lulu.

Now I supposed as I have to go to physio this morning, I had better get up. DH massaged my glutes last night and I slept a lot better. He is taking me to physio which is always good as they make more effort with me when he is there.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 07:48

That White Company one looks like a lovely mattress protector. I recently chucked out our old one which I bought v. cheaply in Asda. It wasn't very nice and it disintegrated in no time at all so not really a very good bargain after all.

Also check First Linen - I think they are only online so their prices are reasonable and the quality is good. Not sure whether their mattress protectors are actually waterproof which isn't much good, but their cotton bedlinen is good value.

BoffinMum · 04/03/2009 07:50

PS Local MP has taken on my SPD case and all the hospital cockups, and is holding them accountable. Very decent of him. I think this might actually cause them to shake up that stupid SPD clinic once and for all, and make them look at the evidence base for what they do (or indeed don't do) up there.

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 08:36

Sorry Swaliswan, DD woke up and I fell asleep settling her.

Conker - Have a lovely holiday.

Boffin - Excellent work getting someone on the case.

Morning Lulu.
