Over here ladies-can't believe we have a 2nd thread already.

I haven't been on for a while, mainly because we're on leave this week. Meant to be house hunting whilst ds still goes to nursery. However, best laid plans and all that. He had really high temps from Thurs through Monday - very scary and then he's gone down with ANOTHER shocking cold.

He's finally started to eat something and DH has just taken him to nursery this morning.

I was sooooo looking forward to occasional naps and feeling vaguely human. Working long days 4 days per week is beginning to take it's toll.

So now, I feel worse than ever. I have rosacea (major spots) all over my face so self confidence is through the floor. On the plus side I'm feeling a little less queasy.

Just got a letter through from the midwife who's currently on holiday telling me to make an appointment to see her on a tuesday when she visits our local medical centre. Can't do tuesdays as I work away on client's site every tuesday. Cant get one for three weeks anyway. Then will be 12 weeks and need to have a nuchal fold by 13 (don't you?) so how on earth am I going to have a scan in time.

This thread moves so fast that I've only been able to read some of it but the one thing that really did make me laugh is that I seem to have had another baby in the meantime. I said it was a while since I was on here! I've put myself back to #2. I don't know how I'll cope with THAT let alone ever go for a third. Some of you must have such patience to be on #4!!! Hat's off to you.

Sorry major rant and freak out. Over now. I'm feeling so pants though!

I hate shopping and we're going to look at five houses later today!

sponge I really hope the scan goes well today-sending lots of positive thoughts....

Had midwife again yesterday-she left it to the last min and JUST left enough time to do everything before dd and I had to be at Jo Jingles-it seems they are ALL very bad at time keeping around here! A friend was telling me that they were at least 45mins late for every apt. she had and in the post natal ones one day the mw was 7 hours late!!!
She has given me all my handheld notes and a bounty pack full of stuff that I might get round to reading sometime!!!

We have snow today!!!! Very strange weather! Toddler group has been cancelled-Not impressed-dd loves it-will have to try and not mention it or there will be tears!

This week has gone quite fast thank god-just have next week and then the scan is the following tues-hopefully it'll go as fast-but I am shitting myself about it-at least its in the morning! Mw said that bloods are taken then and also you make the 20wk scan apt whilst you are there-so everything is sorted then-quite a nice way of doing it. Lets just hope everything goes well [very scared!!]

sammy I reckon mw's have the same sense of timing as babies, must rub off on them!

I've scared myself silly, by waking up in the night sleeping on my front. It was really uncomfortable and I turned onto my side but I'm still a bit achey. Do you think it could have done any harm? Told both sets of parents last night. I had to tell my parents coz they were going on about me not getting my hosp appts. So then in the interests of fairness DH told inlaws. I hope everything is alright in there now!

MeHimCatBlob I wish I got the hot flushes I am freezing all the time still have my coat and scarf on at my desk!

I don't think I am going to get away with keeping this quiet much longer at work my tummy seems to be really sticking out, I have been wearing baggy tops and you still seem to notice! Is it usual to have a tummy this soon?

Oh Smallone, I wouldn't worry about sleeping on your front. That baby is well cushioned and the only discomfort will be yours - the uterus will make damn sure it has enough space and it doesn't care what other organs it moves out of the way !

I think they do recommend that you sleep on your left side towards the end - avoids putting any pressure on the artery that supplies the uterus. But at this stage, it's more important that you sleep comfortably !

My swollen fingers, wrists and ankles are now more human looking and there's no pains in those joints anymore. I can only guess that it was a virus and just hope it hasn't harmed the baby. Scan in 3 weeks so we'll see then.

Cazza - I keep feeling funny internal flicks and pings and flutters that so remind me of when I was pregnant with ds. I felt ds moving as early as 17 weeks, but surely I couldn't be feeling the baby this early (am 10 + 2 but have been feeling these things for a couple of weeks). I am fairly slim but even so... I quite enjoy feeling it though.

Getting anxious about the scan (not that I have a date yet!) as there is bad family history of getting terrible news, mainly at 20 weeks though. With ds I was told he might die, but it turned out there was nothing wrong after all!
Very sad at Lizzie's news.

JellyTotz - think it might be the Health in Pregnancy grant you're talking about. There's more info here. Hope that helps.

theboob - not heard from you - did you have to go to an EPU? What happened? Hope you're OK.

Good luck to everyone who's house hunting at the moment. One of the advantages of taking a long time ttc was that DH and I had already had big discussions about where we'd lived when the LO turns up and had already decided not to move from where we are at the moment. Don't think I could handle the stress of that right now.

ICBINBitter Thanks, I had a feeling I was being silly, you've definitely reassured me. Glad you're feeling better, just in time for everything else to start swelling eh?

kleinemaus What a rollercoaster for you, at least you won't have to wait for long hopefully.

DD and I have just had a massive batch of drop scones for lunch. I dread to think what this pregnancy is doing to her nutrition! She's loving it tho

Just catching up. Very sad to hear Lizzies news.
I have a scan date 10th March.(although haven't even heard from a mw yet). By LMP I will be 12 weeks next week but am expecting the scan to date me at least a week later than that. Hopefully I will have a definite due date then. DH cant come with me as he's working away.
Have updated the list.
Interesting re the Maternity grant; have never had one of those before with the other DCs. Is it means tested or can anyone get it?
Good luck to the house hunters amongst us. We moved into our current house 2 weeks before my due date with ds. I was absolutely exhausted.

Hi all

Had my booking in appointment today with the MW and she said oh, we need to make an appointment for your booking in. WTF? So she is coming on the 20th March so will be 12 weeks. As expected she has me du on the 5th October but I will wait to see what the scan says on the 24th March-yay! She ignored me explaining my shorter cycle and OV day 12. She also asked if it was planned-honestly, was that necessary?

Hello - room for one more?

I'm 9 weeks, due around 6th October and cannot wait to have scan ... booked for 24th March. These weeks are a bit of a headf*kc with uncertainty don't you think? I really want to get hold of a doppler and hunt about my [fat] tum for a sign of life at least.

I look forward to getting to know evryone and best wishes all of you (us).

HC - I am at the stage with giving up explaining what I know about my own body. DC1 - we knew the conception date. The was only one possible date. Yet because the scan showed a baby smaller than that, my dates were clearly wrong and I was left with a very overdue, alert and peeling child. With this one, I have varying cycle lengths, and again, due to circumstances there is only one date for conception making me due (I worked out the other day) about 10th rather than 19th. Can't be arsed to say anything as I know that regardless of conception they will only believe scan dates . Even my poor m/w was ignored with the first one and it was implied that she was useless who couldn't tell the difference between adult and foetal heart beat (found on doppler at what would have been 8 weeks by scan date, 12 weeks by mine).

Sorry for ranty bit Have little faith in the system with dates .

Found out today that a woman who mum works with has a daughter a few weeks further on than me... just found out it is twins

Patmum I think you and I got muddled up on the list as I seem to have dropped a child! I've added my scan date and added BlackEyedDogstar - at least that's what I've tried to do...my IT skills are not the best since leaving work!

Hi guys, thank you all so much for your messages of support.

Unfortunately the scan this morning was a complete waste of time and has only served to increase my anxiety .

They don't think I'm as far forward as they said on Tuesday so it was still too early to conclusively see the HB. They did see the fetal pole and fetal echo so the pg has progressed since last week. They also saw a 'pulse' but couldn't decide if it was a maternal pulse or the HB.

They did say if it was the HB that it was too slow to be a healthy baby and I would miscarry . Great eh?

So, I have to wait an agonising week before going back next Thursday for a repeat scan .

Wish I'd just waited anyway now .

So sorry this bean is messing you around, I hope this week goes super fast and you get to see a strong heartbeat next week. In the meantime make sure you look after yourself and spoil yourself rotten. We'll all be thinking of you. Come and have a rant every hour if you need to.

Spongebrain - that sounds awful, i'm sorry and keeping fingers crossed all is well.

I'm feeling permanently achey is this normal? (i know its my 3rd and i should know) Its not the period type pains i felt last week, its a constant ache in my stomach. I panic every single time i go to the toilet in case there is blood as last November i miscarried at this stage.

I also feel enormous, i'm sure its bloating and not baby bump, but concerned that i can't fit into most of my clothes.

Who else is working fulltime on here? how are you coping? Today it really hit me how tired i am with the pg, and coming home from a days work to two little cherubs is exhausting me.

Sponge please dont worry about it, it could just be like they said, it could be to early. I wish they wouldnt say neg things, it makes the waiting a living hell! What date next week do you go back?? xx

HC By your 'booking in appointment' did the midwife mean as in a home visit and finish filling in forms? I think they like to do the booking in at home, just to assess your living arrangement, to see if the woman may need any extra help (domestic violence, depression, poverty etc.).

Feel like crap today have a really awful cold ds has been shipped off to nana's for the night. He made snow men today in their garden! They had loads of snow, we had hardly any!

DP has finally pretty much finished the downstairs toillet in an afternoon (I've been waiting 6 months!)I think the prospect of moving has given him the kick in the ass he needs!

9+3 and on checking the calendar have realised the mw isn't coming over untill i'm 11+2 a week before my scan date.

Yes LittleMissBliss-the MW is coming to my house with my hospital files. The same MW never went to my school mum friend's house. Sorry to hear you feel so rough.

sponge-how frustrating and upsetting for you. Echo the others-come and chat anytime.

You all keep talking about MW appointments.

Is it normal to get a MW appointment before you have your scan then? I haven't heard anything about that at all. Maybe they don't do them in this area

We have to see the MW to get a scan appointment as she has to take my notes to the scan place along with a mid stream wee sample.

Hattie05 - I'm working f/t and then some and will be back at work very soon after birth! Felling exhausted is pretty difficult to disguise as is my sudden dislike for milk (makes me nuseaous). The hot flush or freezing cold flushes are particularly hard to disguise at work - currently typing this in 4 layers of clothes plus my Duvet Jacket in my nice centrally heated house whilst DP wears a T-shirt!

Bit worried to hear about the difficulties with dating - i chart my baseline temperature so know exactly when I ovulated but whether m/w will accept that remains to be seen. only 1.5 weeks to wait

Yes its horrible that this early stage is when you'd most like to be able to explain yourself to colleagues isn't it.

I'm getting myself in a panic here, having constant cramps accross my stomach which are making me feel quite nauseus. (havn't had ms before) could i just be being pathetic and its just morning sickness?

Those who have ms is it accompanied by cramps?
