lizzie9442 That's such dreadful news, I'm really sorry for you. Good luck with the test, and fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy when you are ready XX

MustGetSleep · 04/03/2009 09:32

Oh Lizzie I'm so sorry

Had my registering with the dr today, see the m/w next week. Met her this morning too though and she seems lovely. Dr's face was a cross between and at the last birth being a homebirth - so should be fun She went on to advise me about using the hospital with the most medical supervision available, knowing from our conversation that I had one at midwife led unit, and the next at home .

have DD off school with a sickness bug, thankfully I think the actual sickness is over (DH dealt with it last night so I didn't have to smell it ).

spongebrainbigpants · 04/03/2009 09:40

Hi guys, sorry I joined then disappeared - about six hours after I posted I started bleeding, only lightly but really shook me up.

Anyway, have had repeat bloods on Monday and my HCG is now 27,000 so they are scanning me tomorrow.

Having seen a couple of m/cs on this thread already though I'm still very nervous .

Hope everyone else is feeling ok. Will let you know how the scan goes tomorrow.

MrsPuddleduck · 04/03/2009 10:20

Morning all

BellaCullen - I am feeling better today and I think you are right, if you get a good night's sleep the morning sickness isn't as bad. I feel worst last thing at night when I am ready for bed.

Lissie - sorry to hear your news. I hope the tests give you some answers so you don't have to go through this again.

Spongebrainbigpants - hope all goes well for you tomorrow.

Treats · 04/03/2009 11:02

lizzie - I'm so very sorry to hear your news . Take care of yourself and I hope you get some answers from the test and can look forward positively.

theboob - I went to the EPU at St Thomas' in London. I just walked straight in and they saw me straightaway - didn't need an appointment or a referral. Try here for more info. Why do you need to go??? Hope it's nothing bad!!!

spongebrainbigpants - Fingers firmly crossed for you. I know you've had a real rollercoaster to get this far, and I'm praying that your bean will stick. How many weeks are you? An HCG at that level would be normal if you're about 6/7 weeks. Good luck with the scan.

Cazza28 · 04/03/2009 11:44

Ok am I being silly here but I swear I have just felt something on the left side low down, maybe like a pulse inside if that makes sense? Doesn't feel like wind , its far to early to feel the baby isn't it......? 9+4.

spongebrainbigpants · 04/03/2009 12:14

I thought I was 5 +6 but they think I'm 6 +2 cos I have a short cycle. Really hope we can see something .

LittleMissBliss · 04/03/2009 12:40

Hiya everyone!

I've had a few estate agents over this morning as dp and i were discussing how we'd like a bigger house, with another one on the way and bigger garden. We could make this house work with sharing rooms or converting the computer room back into a nursery. But i would really like more space downstairs as well. The two that came over this morning vallued the house between 6-10,000 less than we payed for it in '07 so not too much of a loss in the current climate. We have another two agents coming over after lunch, so i'm stuck in all day!

We'll discuss it tonight and then possbly put the house on the market asap. I'm excited and have spent all of ds's nap looking at new houses!

sponge- good luck for your scan, hope it all goes well.

cazza- It's proably just things stretching i would think, but not sure. I don't think i felt anything move untill arround 19-20 weeks with ds and that was only a flutter!

Ds has woken up so better get the lunch on before i have another visitor.

HappyTangerine · 04/03/2009 12:52

Hi all

8spongebrainbigpants8 - keeping everything crossed for your scan

Lazy day so far. I keep walking up at 4am - in the job I've just left, I would leave at 4am(sometimes 2am if London)for the long drives to my appointments. Now I've finished, I'm still waking up and going through the motions before I remember I've left! Went back to bed and dh let me sleep until 11am. I think it might take me a while to adjust.

Getting impatient for any word from a mw-rang my surgery and they just said it had been referred and to wait for a letter. They had said a midwife was supposed to see me at 10weeks but it looks like no sign of that happening. Lots of horror stories in local press about how Ormskirk is short staffed and they are sending expectant mothers miles away-am wondering if I should change to Liverpool or Preston.

HappyTangerine · 04/03/2009 12:57

I've just chased the surgery again and it looks like the secretary "forgot" to type the referral letter.

stroopwafel · 04/03/2009 13:05

Hi Ladies, Am nearly 6 weeks and due on the 29th Oct. Have ds who is 2 and a half and agree with some of your comments there... its really hard dealing with the sickness and tiredness this time round! This is my first time in the Netherlands though, so not sure what to expect of the system here! Congrats to all...

JemL · 04/03/2009 13:44

HappyTangerine - am ed at secretary, surely she must know better than to take her life in her hands, delaying first scan of pregnant lady?!?!
Have visions of her suddenly crashing through Dr surgery window, followed by her PC

MrsPuddleduck · 04/03/2009 13:53

LMB - good luck with the estate agents I hope you manage to sell soon. I moved house 3 days before I had Ds2 (was a planned c-sction) and don't recommend it late on in pregnancy!

smallone · 04/03/2009 14:21

Hi all,
HT I don't know about ormskirk but I have a friend on the Wirral that chooses to have her babies in Liverpool coz she thinks its better. Although maybe they'll have sorted out their issues by oct?

I'm starting to panic about twins, like proper catching in your throat panic. I have them in my family and I don't know what we'd do. Really can't afford two and it would mean putting three in one room. Only three weeks to wait I suppose.

Also dd has come out in a rash, like prickly heat but with some big red blotches, and the main prickly bit over her front seems to be smoothing out and looks like sunburn. Any ideas? I thought it could very well have something to do with DH forgeting to put a nappy on her last night so she was sodden when she woke up, but its quite hot to the touch so I'm not so sure. I just hope its not going to do anything nasty to bean. I know chicken pox can be dangerous but can anything else?

peachespaige · 04/03/2009 14:38

Afternoon all and any newbies.
lizzie I really and truely am sorry. I hope the test gives you some answers please look after yourself.xx
sponge Im crossing everything for you and pray its good news.
Im not feeling that great today. I think Iv over done it. Was at a toddler group I help run all morning doing teas and coffees dishes etc, then cleaned up swept the hall, now I feel wiped out and sore.
Think Ill give the gym a miss!

fidelma · 04/03/2009 14:49

LIZZIE so sorry to hear your news.My freind had 8mc before lots of IVF which didnt work. She saw Zita West in London and now has had 3 lovely girls.Hope you get some answers and thinking of you.xxx

LittleMissBliss · 04/03/2009 15:19

The last two estate agents been and gone and they were a little disapointing in comparison to the first two. So that's thrown a spanner in the works!

Willmouse We moved into this house 2 weeks before ds arrived and that was stressful enough can't imagine 2 days.

I've been thinking about it and just remebered how much i HATE packing, moving and unpacking. I am now thinking that the house will have to be perfect for us to move. At least because i'll be pregnant again i can avoid the lifting! It's still exciting but i wish we could teleport the contents of this house into a new house.

HappyTangerine · 04/03/2009 17:43

I don't think I'm safe around a phone anymore today. Surgery rang me back-secretary had hurriedly typed out a letter and faxed it to ante-natal. I asked for the phone no so I could ring and check. No fax received plus midwife had been & gone until Saturday. Got the fax number. Rang surgery back-they said they had fax number and receipt but not the fax no ante-natal clinic had so I got them to re-fax. It turns out they had been faxing the ante-natal ward, not clinic.

Next was the dealership that I picked my car up from yesterday-the one that went through all the pre-sales checks bbar checking if the drivers door locked/unlocked. They have to wait for a part from Honda and we won't get it back until Friday. Think dh should deal with them from now on.

Quick question re wedding - is black definately unacceptable still?

stroopwafel - hello and welcome . Whereabouts in the Netherlands are you? I spent 5 yrs working there, splitting my time btwn UK and Amsterdam/Nijmegen.

JemL- pmsl at your post! I was so not impressed with them-think that came across loud and clear!

smallone - thanks-am seriously considering transferring now, it's all been such a mess here since they closed the ante-natal facilities at Southport. Btw, someone I used to work with had twins and then 2 years later had another set of twins-they've now got 2 sets under the age of 5. They're finding it a bit cramped and tough but seem to be doing okay.

Peachespaige - you deserve a rest after all that, I'm tired just reading it!

theboob - hope things are okay for you at the EPU if you have to go.(hug)

spongebrainbigpants · 04/03/2009 18:07

HT, the question about black at weddings has just been asked on my post-natal thread funnily enough! The general consensus was that the black was perfectly acceptable at a wedding, as long as a splash of colour was included somewhere!

HumphreysCorner · 04/03/2009 19:37

theboob-is everything OK. We are here if you need to talk.

spongebrainbigpants-your levels do seem quite high so hopefully this is promising. Good luck for tomorrow.

stroopwafel-welcome and congrats to you.

HappyTangerine-what a grot day you have had. Agree that DH will have to sort it!

fidelma-that is a soul destroying amount of MC's. I'm glad it worked out well in the end for her.

Am very tired tonight so big wave to everyone else.

Evening All!

I am going out of my mind sitting here and I am hoping someone will be able to help me! I read the other day in somebody's post that as from this April 09 we can claim child benefit before the baby is born after 26 weeks pg.......but now i cannot find where i read it!!! Im not even sure it was in this thread! Has anybody read it too or does anyone know anything about it......Maybe I dreamt it!!!!

MeHimCatBlob · 04/03/2009 20:44

Hi all, hope you had a good day - work was tiring as usual but at least my PA knows now so lots of sympathy from her. Is it normal to get problems with your temperature during prgnancy? I seem to either be having a hot flush or absolutely freezing cold hands and feet?

Good luck with estate agents - we're trying to sell 2 houses and buy a larger one which I am not looking forward to.

anyway, sleep calls (hopefully)

HumphreysCorner · 04/03/2009 21:06

The Child Benefit thing was on this thread but there was no link. My internet connection is crap so can't get onto the HM Gov website to see if there is anything on there about it. I mean, what if you claim it and sadly something happens-do you have to pay it back I wonder. Will try and look later.

HC Thanks so much! I am not going mad!!
I will have a search on the internet and see if I can find anything.... It would certainly be very useful to have! x

MustGetSleep · 05/03/2009 08:10

It seems to be that they back date the child benefit. I have read various sites, and they seem to say it gets backdated or the idea was changed in favour of the healthy pregnancy thing
