boob Do you think it's better holding off untill ds is more understanding? He understands allot now but can't say that much at the moment. I'm so nervous with this potty training malarky! Maybe i should hold off untill new one is born. Is it hard work having more than one in nappies?

We moved ds into a big boy bed at 13 months because we were co-sleeping (poor dp banished to sapre room) and he hated his cot with a passion and would scream and shake the bars everytime i tried t encourage him to sleep in it. We got him a boat shaped bed and he loved it, indipendant sleeping sorted!. We get the occational 3am visit but besides that it was the best move ever !

Not sure if i will go down the co-sleeping route again with new bub, as ds was so attached to me but it was a godsend for breastfeeding, so we'll see.

KleineMaus · 26/02/2009 21:18

Finally got my booking appointment, but will be 11 weeks by then so goodness knows when I'll get my scan as they won't make the appointment for that until the booking one. I suppose the only consolation is that the later it is the more babylike it will look.

Have mistakenly planned to whisk dh away to the big city for the weekend for his birthday. We moved away to the country in the summer and we don't often get a chance to go back, so I've arranged for us to meet up with old friends of his. Of course I arranged this before I was pregnant and now I'm feeling shocking pretty much 24/7, so I'm not sure how I'll cope. Still it will be nice to get away just the two of us (ds is going to granny's house!).

KKKKaty · 26/02/2009 22:16

Thanks, LittleMissBliss. There's not much chance of her being able to hear it then at only 8 weeks, what with my layer of blubber!

Having said in my post last night that I wasn't getting any sickness at all, of course sod's law kicked in. I felt really queasy last night in bed and actually had to get up in the middle of the night and have a bit of a retch (sorry tmi), which did make me feel better, and I felt a bit queasy in the this morning, improving after a hot cross bun at 11 am! I did decide that it was something I ate maybe, but now it's getting towards bedtime today, and I'm feeling a little peculiar again. Could it be that I have "night sickness" rather than morning sickness?! Has anyone else had this, or is it just some sort of bug?

BlackLetterDay · 27/02/2009 01:38

Hi can I join? Pg with no3, not sure when I'm due could be anywhere between the 18th Oct-3rd November I reckon. Haven't got any sickness yet (hopeful that will stay away), bit nervous after an early m/c in August but what the hell joining an antenatal thread isn't going to sway things either way. Hope you are all well.

BlackLetterDay · 27/02/2009 01:42

Oh and I will have to wait until 20 weeks for a scan!! if I get that far, although will push for a dating scan as I'm not really sure what went on at all

littlepea72 · 27/02/2009 07:43

Hey everyone, dont know if anyone else has noticed, but Prisci has left a post on the part 1 thread. She has had a MC

idreamofbeanie · 27/02/2009 08:31

Oh no Prisci - that is awful . I'm so sorry.

Congratulations BLD - feel free to add yourself to the list. Just pick a date in the middle for your due date or add yourself to the bottom with a ? for the date.

KKKaty - I feel sick when I'm hungry, tired or both so you could well just get nauseous in the evening when you are tired. Maybe a late evening snack will keep it at bay.

Well the dratted hormones that made me feel like a real moody mare yesterday have decided to give me a break today so I feel great. Think the 10 hour sleep I had last night probably helped. Am off to SILs for the weekend so probably won't be on until Monday. Hope you all have a great weekend.

sammysam · 27/02/2009 08:53

KKKaty-my sickness with dd and with this one is only later on the the day-and worst in the evening-normally feel my best in the morning
My general low feeling is starting to lift at the mo and I realised it's because it really is starting to feel more like spring-I suffer from SAD in the winter and since getting my BFP i've not been using my lightbox -I'm so excited about the spring/summer-I can't wait!!!! It's sunny out the window and i'm kinda pretending to myself it's here already!!! Hopefully my mood will improve even more after the scan when hopefully I can relax a bit more
Really better get sorted now-off for swimming with dd

Cazza28 · 27/02/2009 09:18

Prisci so sorry to hear your news. Big Hugs. x

Feeling sick at the mo glad I am at home on the sofa! Hopeully it will stop me eating so much today.

Hope everyone has a good day x

theboob · 27/02/2009 09:21

morning ladies

so sorry for your news prisci

littlemissbliss i would leave him a bit if he is not showing any signs, but it would not hurt to introduce a potty in the summer just incase he really takes to it,having 2 in nappies was fine, and only lasted a few months,i think i have started to early this time and will give him a few days and if he still not getting it i will stop and try a bit later in the year

we all seem to be having high and low peaks of sickness and right now im on a high peak,my stomach churned all night last night and i had cramps again like in the first few weeks, has anybody else felt these come back??

hope you all have a brill friday enjoy swimming sammy sam

ballio · 27/02/2009 09:31

Hi All, my scan date is the 17th March, think im 8+1 but will find out at the scan! Feeling quite sick at points in the day but im not over tired which is a little weird.I look quite bloated as well! strange as didnt with DS

CalypsoFlame · 27/02/2009 10:27

Prisci, thats very sad, I hope you feel better and have a happy and successful pregnancy soon X

To all those who are feel stabbing pains that they think may not stretchy-ligament type pains, the team at the EPU thought that I had a corpus luteum cyst that had ruptured. This isn't dangerous to the baby but may mean you bleed a bit (I didn't). I don't want to stop anyone visiting a Dr if they feel they need to, obviously, but for those of you with some niggles, this might be the cause.

Some more info I found:
www.drspock.com/article/0,1510,5335,00.html

Had a horrible day yesterday, standing outside in the cold and rain, chiselling over 100 large slate tiles before they could be laid today. I felt very 'wah, wah but I'm pregnant, I shouldn't be doing this' but then there wasn't anyone else to do it. Hate feeling so sorry for myself, very unlike me!

HumphreysCorner · 27/02/2009 10:53

Prisci-I am so very sorry and it was so sudden. Take care {{xx}}

Very acidy today and feel a tad stressed as mum and dad have said there is no way we can move DD1 into DD2's bedroom and have them share a room. They said she is too attached to her bedroom. Can't see the baby sharing with DD2-what if it is a boy? Also, DH not doing any room arranging until well after the baby is born but I have been used to having an empty room ready so where am I going to keep all the baby clothes and nappies etc. Need to talk this over with DH pronto but I know he won't understand my concerns.

Have a good day ladies.

Morning everyone - gosh this new thread is busy already!

Prisci - that's awful news, I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself.

Time seems to be playing trickso on me. I surprised myself by finding that it was already Friday when I woke up this morning - it seemed to arrive much sooner than I expected - but somehow I'm STILL only 8 weeks pregnant .

I'm counting down the days to the end of the first trimester - not so much because of the scan (like, booooooring - I've already had two! ) but because I can finally tell everyone.

I popped out at lunchtime for my second scan yesterday (got an amazing picture btw which I'll try and upload into my profile picture so you can all get a good idea of what your beans are looking like now) and then came back and calmly got on with my afternoon work and couldn't even discuss with anyone the amazingness of seeing that is has hands and a spine........ I'm sure people must have clocked by now - whenever anyone wants to talk to me about 'important' or 'interesting' stuff, my expression must say "Huh! You think THAT'S important/interesting?".

Roll on 27th March.......

Treats · 27/02/2009 11:03

HC - x-posted but what's it got to do with your mum and dad if your DDs share a room? Isn't it yours and DH's decision? I should have thought that the prospect of sharing it with a smelly crying baby would soon make DD1 forget any attachment to her room .

Don't let it stress you - there's plenty of time to sort this out and even if you do need a nice empty room for the baby (which I completely understand), you probably won't need it until about a month before the birth.

Our 'baby's room' is currently stuffed to the rafters with junk - we're going to have to be very strong minded about throwing things out. Even then, it's going to be a long way from being an 'empty' room - and will probably never be truly 'baby's' either.

You'll find a solution - I'm sure it won't be a problem.

smallone · 27/02/2009 11:28

Hiya, HC sorry your folks have made you worry about this. I live in a flat and had just redecorated our dining room (2nd bedroom) when I discovered I was expecting dd. I cried buckets that I wouldn't be able to make a "proper nursery" for the baby. In the end she stayed in with us till she was 6mo and then we moved and left her in our room. (lots of stuff that can't be moved out of the old dining room, like a massive book unit and a piano!) Then when we were thinking of #2 I was worried that they would have to share, as I always had my own room growing up. But a news item made me think of all the people in the world with entire families in one room, and that put the whole thing into perspective. So I'm planning on getting bunk beds as dd's first bed so that they'll have more room once #2 is out of the cot. I'm guessing if its a boy we'll have to look at moving when they're school age but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Could you give dd1 a choice of who she shares with and which room they share? and maybe sweeten the deal with new decoration or new bedcovers or something? Or ask your parents what they suggest? perhaps they'll buy you a new house

thelittlestbadger · 27/02/2009 11:50

Hiya, I need to be added on to the list as well. Due on 12th October but I had a scan last week at 6+4 because it was a frozen embryo so have seen the little heart bouncing away! I have a 20 month old DD so I'm also starting to have to think about potty training... or just carry on with the pooh mummy, pooh now approach!

I've got the booking in appointment for hte nuchal scan but it won't be until 14+3. I thought they had to be between 10 and 13 weeks - is this right?

I'm also feeling sick and wobbly and work and toddler generally are a bit of a struggle. Roll on 13 weeks!

BlackLetterDay · 27/02/2009 13:04

Sorry about your news Prisci

Thanks for the welcome beanie, have a good weekend

I'm worried about the sharing thing too smallone, we have just moved and we have just got our bedroom back after moving ds into his own room wah .

Think this one will share with ds when the time comes, he is less prickly than his sister lol, be handy if it was a boy although again I don't think dd would be too thrilled.

lal123 · 27/02/2009 13:08

Hi all - I think I'm about 5 weeks pregnant - due at end October if all goes well. i've one dd (5) and have had 2 mcs in last couple of years. i've just arranged a scan for 17th March - fingers crossed bean stays til then. Nice to meet you all!

littlepea72 · 27/02/2009 13:11

Im seeing my MW on Tuesday, thank goodness! The stabbing pains have gone, but so have the sickness. Still tired, but for the last 2 days appart from the pains, nothing. Hope its just one of those things, just not wanting history to repeat itself. Maybe im just thinking about that to much.....

I've posted my scan picture in my profile. If you're about the 8 week mark, take a look if you want to see how your bean's probably looking.

spongebrainbigpants · 27/02/2009 13:48

Hi all, have just nervously added myself to the list .

5 wks today, due on 26th october (I think!). Already have an eight month old DS - wasn't expecting to be pg again quite so soon!

DS conceived via IVF and we were told we'd never have children naturally - hmm, shows doctors don't know everything! So, we never bothered with contraception.

Real danger of ectopic cos I have blocked tubes but had a scan yesterday and the sac is in-utero. Next scan booked for the 12th March to check for HB.

Wasn't sure whether I would be tempting fate to start posting here, but already struggling with being pg and having such a young baby so thought it would be nice to get some virtual support!

spongebrainbigpants · 27/02/2009 13:49

That's such a clear scan pic Treats, much better than the one I had at 8 wks with my DS!

sammysam · 27/02/2009 13:54

Wow-treats! I can't wait for the scan even more now!!!!
Welcome spongebrain-what fantastic news! I'm sure everything will be ok-this one is obviously meant to be!!!
