Hi everyone. Thanks for all your messages of support. Feeling a bit better today although the news has definitely taken the shine off the pregnancy. Have mostly been moping about today but think that a slummy day was what I needed. It's great to hear about other people's experiences and really heartening to know that most people come through it unscathed.

Fingers crossed for the next scan, and at least - if it's still bad news - we'll be able to prepare ourselves for baby needing an op. Much better to know that it's going to happen than to have romantic dreams of a perfect baby and blissful homecoming dashed at the last minute.

Thanks again for all your support - it really helps.

littlepea - it sounds horrid. Glad you got back safely. I've had to invest in my first proper pair of tracksuit trousers in the last couple of weeks. I'm still swanking around in my glamorous gear during the day, but anything less forgiving than stretcy trousers is unbearable in the evening, so I completely sympathise. Still too early for maternity gear though.

Sugarkane - I'm quite . That hasn't happened to me although I've had a few occasions when I've definitely felt like it when I never normally would.......

Waves to everyone else. Hope the weather is less miserable wherever you are today than it is here......

rubyslippers · 28/03/2009 21:21

Blarbie · 29/03/2009 11:30

Sorry to all who've had a sicky time, I don't get sick at all.
BUT...
Friday night woke up puking, on and off every 20/30 mins. Then DD woke up with same. DB out on the lash, argh! Got him home at 4am and me and DD puked our way through night. All day in bed yesterday. Today I can eat, but a bit worried about what my sickness may've done to the bump inhabitant.
Am 13 weeks and don't have scan til April 7th - couldn't do the original 24th March date. Anyone know if what I'm guessing was food poisoning will affect the BI?

Blarbie · 29/03/2009 11:36

Sorry, what do you call the new one? To DD it is of course baby in Mummy's tummy, but since I've not had a scan so can't really be sure there's anything there it feels unlucky to write it down.

HappyTangerine · 29/03/2009 12:37

Treats-what a shock for you, I so hope the next scan brings good news. Thinking of you both

MeHimCatBob - have a fab holiday

Gorgeous weather here this weekend but have only got energy to slob around house and garden after a busy day shopping yesterday. Am getting car sick so stupidly suggested we walk into town-my feet did not appreciate it! Got a lovely v shaped pillow that has made all the difference to my sleeping.

I managed to put the clocks forward last night only to realise this morning that some of them did it automatically so I gained an extra hour anyway-sweet!

HappyTangerine · 29/03/2009 12:39

Blarbie - def sounds like food poisoning or noro-virus, hope you feel better soon. SIL had it when pg with her second, not nice. Fingers crossed for you both that it clears up fast.

Blarbie · 29/03/2009 13:20

Did it affect the baby though?

HappyTangerine · 29/03/2009 16:28

Hi Blarbie - no, in my SILs case baby not affected -she was 16 weeks pg at the time

kaos73 · 29/03/2009 16:31

Not posted for a few days and so too much to catch up on! Hope those of you with MS are finding it's easing off. I'm 10/11 weeks so hoping like last time it'll get better soon. Now got 2 weeks till scan/cons appointment. It can't come quick enough.

Treats - thinking of you. Perhaps your next scan will bring some reassurance and hope.

Blarbie - can't help I'm afraid. Could you give your midwife a quick call tomorrow?

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 29/03/2009 21:12

Hi, just checking in.

As have been feeling a bit rubbish (tired mainly) have been deliberating whether to tell work yet - am only 11 weeks though. Would like to wait for my scan which is in 2 weeks time.

Like a few of you I am getting a weeny bit massive so its getting trickier to work out what to wear without looking totally pg.

Blarbie - Speak to Doc or Midwife if you can. Hope you feel better soon.

Treats - hope you had a good day today.

Hattie05 · 29/03/2009 21:26

Hi all,

Treats so sorry must be frightening, but as you say at least you know. I too have seen these ops on childbirth programmes, and it seems a very straight forward procedure for the experts.

I've had time off work last week and can't face tomorrow at work. I've been so very exhausted its unbelievable. Docs checked blood pressure and iron levels all fine, so i guess its just due to working fulltime plus having 2 little ones to look after! Anyone else working fulltime with other children? How are you coping?

Blarbie, hope you are well x

Very jealous of your holiday mehimcatblob! Have a lovely time.

Blarbie · 29/03/2009 22:32

Feeling much better, very sweet of you to wish me well. X

stroopwafel · 29/03/2009 22:42

Been what seems like a week since I posted... the lurgy has hit here in the Hague.. no vomiting for me, but major cramps for about 5 days and even water not really staying put! So lots of rehydration salts and finally a meal of rice and apple sauce (I googled it!)last night and am feeling on the mend. I did go to docs in the middle of it as wasnt sure if it would affect baby going on for so long, and to reassure you blarbie as long as you are drinking enough, or are getting some rehydration salts inside you, it shouldnt affect baby. It just sucks feeling worse and even more drained that you already do! Hope you feel better soon xxx

stroopwafel · 29/03/2009 22:47

Oohh and just read further down treats.. how awful for you.. hope the next scan is more positive.

Flamesparrow · 30/03/2009 07:59

Hoping things are better at the next scan Treats.

My birthday this weekend - to celebrate DS had a d&v bug, and DH has tonsillitis.

Yay.

BellaCullen · 30/03/2009 08:28

Treats hope your next scan will bring better news.A family friends son had this and recovered really quickly and is absolutely fine now.The success rate for this is really good so wishing you all the best.

Blarbie hope you`re feeling better I had this 2 weeks ago and baby looked absolutely fine on scan so as long as you stay hydrated you should be fine.

DD`s birthday was lovely we went bowling which she loved and she was so happy when she saw her new Baby Born doll.Times goes so fast. Before we know it these little ones will be 3.

Need to clean and tidy everywhere today as my sisters coming tomorrow last saw her in August so itll be great.
Have a good day.Any one with scans good luck.x

LittleMissBliss · 30/03/2009 08:33

Morning,
just bookmarking as i lost the thread, will be back shortly to catch up and post.

littlepea72 · 30/03/2009 08:40

Hi everyone, just got a question as alot of people have been taking about it. Im Dehydrated, all the time. I get myself hydrated half way through the day, but through the night it gets really bad again. No matter what i do its bad. Does this do anything to the baby? Im a bit worried now.

Hope everyone is feeling good this week, are there any scans?

sammysam · 30/03/2009 08:44

Morning everyone
I hope you all had a good weekend!
Flamesparrow-happy belated birthday! I'm sorry it sounds like it wasn't much fun -maybe they can make up for it and celebrate next weekend?!

Blarbie-poor you-hope you are better now. The advice others have given sounds great-try not to worry too much-especially if it was a short lived thing and you are eating/drinking as normal now.

I hope all the poor ill people are better now

We got back very late last night after a very busy weekend with a severe lack of sleep. Have been feeling very sick again but i'm hopeing it is just because I have really overdone it this weekend. Ended up adding at least an hour to the journey as I managed to leave the gorgeous flowers my dad gave me and my mobile at my sisters so had to turn round-dp was not too happy!!!

Am supposed to be meeting friends this afternoon to go to Farmer Palmers but I feel so tired, sick and rubbish this morning I really don't feel up to it.....really don't want to go Only one of them knows so it wouldn't be easy to just tell the truth iyswim. Was going to tell the others today. Have to go to tumble tots this morning and then just want to come home to colapse. Would I be really bad to do that?

Hope everyone else is ok x x x

Cazza28 · 30/03/2009 08:45

Morning All!

Going to tell work today - Do I just go In and say "I am pregnant"??? Seems daft maybe I am just thinking about it to much.....

Got 2nd Scan at 15:40 today hopefully baby will be facing the right way to measure the neck.

sammysam · 30/03/2009 08:52

Littlepea-i'm in the same position-still can't drink water at all or anything else in any quantity. I'm trying not to worry as basically the baby is a parasite and will take everything it needs from our bodies before we do and so it'll be us that suffers. As long as you manage not to get REALLY dehydrated and are still drinking something to keep yourself alive everything will be ok. Doesn't help too much when you are feeling like crap cos you are dehydrated though. I feel constantly rubbish because I'm not drinking enough to feel good iyswim but i'm still functioning and from the scan I know that I'm obviously drinking enough to enable me to make all the fluids etc I need, so i'm trying to not worry too much. It is hard though!!! Roll on being able to drink without it making me sick

I hope this random waffle helps in some way

LittleMissBliss · 30/03/2009 08:52

Bella Glad your dd had a lovely birthday!

Treats Hope your next scan goes well and must be really re-assuring that the OP is fairly routine with a high chance of a positive outcome. It must have been a shock for you but like you said you have 6 months to prepare and know what to expect.

Flamesparrow what unique presents! You poor thing, happy Birthday for this weekned.

Hello everyone else hope you are well.

DS has been really ill this weekend with croup like symtoms very chesty, temp and coughing until he throws up. He's also got a rash on his face but he's had that for nearly a month now and haven't had much light shed on what it is from anyone. Off to dr's this morning to check on rash and see if there is much i can do for ds's cough. He's never been so ill. So tired today been up all night, as he was in our bed so that i could monitor his temperature and keep propping him up. Could do with a long nap today.

13 weeks!
