tracyea · 25/03/2009 13:08

Ah yes that was me with the bush!!!

Calypsoflame I have not bought any new running gear yet except for a cast iron bra!! I really need to hold them in place or I may give myself a black eye. My running trousers just keep gradually falling down and i just yank them back up again!

I more day to go - trying to keep busy!

KKKKaty · 25/03/2009 13:34

Idreamofbeanie - Actually, I've just had a look at the calendar and it seems I fibbed when I said it starts in June - it actually starts on 21st July - so it may well be the same one as you!

idreamofbeanie · 25/03/2009 14:18

KKKKaty - my class starts on the 21st July too so it probably is the same class. See you there!

Sugarkane · 25/03/2009 15:18

Thanks guys feel better after my earlier rant, and Smallone im for you, they shouldnt leave you a week thats too mean.

Wow both of u in the same class, that sounds fun dont forget to wear a red rose or a sombrero so you know who you both are.

smallone · 25/03/2009 15:18

IDOB Scan's are done in my community hosp via a mobile service and the mw who does them (only on tues) is on holiday, and her replacement had sprained her ankle! So I've got to wait til next tue, I'll 11+2 then so its not too bad, am consoling myself with the thought that it'll look more like a baby then!

Am still v depressed about my BMI situation, but am trying to be positive. On the upside mw actually said "wow" when she took my BP. 96/73 so maybe the consultant won't want to be too "hands-on" Am dreading having to be weighed monthly and having tonnes of tests done, I'm sure it'll just stress me out. Am doing a pregnancy fitness vid which is from the 80s and a bit rubbish but the hair and the leotards keep me amused! Can anyone recommend another one? I'm aiming not to put on any more than 7lb but will see what the consultant says.

Can't remember who it was who was seeing the consultant but yes it will be because of previous cs. They see you here if you've had any sort of surgery or complications in a previous birth.

fidelma · 25/03/2009 15:19

my NCT was great(2000 )with dd made friends and talked in great detail about birth, nappies, sore breasts and lack of sleep !!! I met one of my now best friends there she has 3 children the same age as mine.We have had lots of fun and holidays together.Sadly she is not having a 4th but our friendship is sound. If its your first I would recommend NCT enjoy.

Been feeling a bit better these last two days although always in bed at 8pm not great for DH although he enjoys the telly to himself.Going for my scan on Friday I hope its not twins!!!

Good luck to all having scans.

sammysam · 25/03/2009 15:42

sugarkane-how crazy! how nasty-and I bet they made you feel like it was your fault as well!! At least you don't have long to wait-poor smallone having to wait a week

calypso-very polite friends-though I suppose if you are like me i've been wearing layers and a cunning scarf to distract-though people have still guessed I think if you tend to be slimmer it is much more obvious earlier on. My tummy is prob my slimmest part normally so it has been hard to hide-no one has asked me outright but they have asked my friends!!! You look lovely and slim though and i'd kill for your lovely hair!!!

Flamesparrow-I hope you manage to get some rest-think I should take a bump photo today as well-haven't done one yet and didn't do it with dd-it is a lovely idea to do though!

I'm getting my apetite back and then some-which is good and bad I really have got to try and keep it a bit under control as I have to fit into a bridesmaids dress less than 8wks after due date and it really isn't a very forgiving one. I never normally worry about things like this but I know i'll be looking bedraggled (sp) anyway due to lack of sleep etc and really want to get some nice family photos on the day!

Sorry for the ramble-can't help myself at the moment!!

HumphreysCorner · 25/03/2009 15:46

Am so very tired and nauseous today so apologies for not replying properly.

Iron levels are tested with first lot of bloods-my level confirmed as OK yesterday.

Willmouse-I thought I was 12+5 yesterday but MW thought 12+1 so I was nearer at 13 w exactly.

Sugarkane-that is unacceptable.

Calypso-that is a good bump and people must have guessed.

Big wave to all!

SugarKane - you must have been in agony, what the hell was the hospital thinking of? I'd write and complain - at the v least, you might get some free scan photos out of it

smallone - so wrong of them to leave you a week, I hope it passes quickly. Re a pre-natal fitness vid, I'm doing Erin O'Brien's Prenatal Fitness Fix which is good. Watching the partner workout is the best bit-her hubby is the guy who plays Mike in Desperate Housewives . I swim 6 days a week and am looking to try a yoga vid next so I don't get bored of doing the one workout

My mum, who wasn't going to tell anyone about the baby until "oh at least 20 weeks" seems to have told half of Wales - I started getting phonecalls from my massive family (my mum alone has 11 brothers and sisters) at 8 o'clock this morning! We told both my mum and MIL about the baby by writing it in their mother's day cards.

Sammysam - with everyone else, I've just gently let the conversation intio "what kind of Auntie/Uncle etc do you think you'll be?" and discussed it for a bit while waiting for the penny to drop.

BellaCullen · 25/03/2009 17:16

SugarKane how annoying and stressful, could have mentioned in letter which hospital your scans at.at least they giving you one tomorrow hope everything goes well.

Smallone can`t believe they cancelled your scan and you have to wait till next week hopefully the week goes fast for you.

My sister is coming over next week cant wait itll be nice to see her and were going for shopping trip. Its also dds birthday on sunday cant believe shes already turning 3 where has the time gone seems like yesterday when I was pregnant with her.
Hope everyone has a good evening x

LittleMissBliss · 25/03/2009 22:05

Evening all,

Sammysam thanks for the cream/oil advice.
I was just wondering if you had to pay or you photos at your 12week scan at Poole?

My 12 week scan pictures were free last time but at a different hospital. Although i had to pay for 20 week pics via tokens purchased in the lobby. (but on the scan appointment letter it asked you to bring £1 coins from the machine)

SugarKane sorry about your crappy day and good luck for tomo!

Smallone must be annoying having to wait another week, but the thought that your bean will be more baby-like means you'll have more to look forward to!

Flame I've had one of those days where i have little verging on no motivation and fell asleep with ds at his nap time.

calypso impressive bump and i also think your hair looks lovely!

sammysam · 26/03/2009 07:20

Morning all!

Felt much worse last night so think I spoke too soon We're seeing dp's dad to tell him tonight-he'll be very excited!

Littlemiss-re scan photos you pay £5 at the 20wk scan and that covers all the photos-you get 3 for the 12wk and they said more than that at the 20wk. I think you just bring along a fiver at 20wks.

Had quite a good day yesterday-things seemed to have some unusual good luck.....lets hope it continues a little longer

Good luck for any scans today

littlepea72 · 26/03/2009 07:35

Poor you Sammysam, you think you might be getting a break from the sickness, then it back again. Im not as bad now, i dont have it as often, but when it hits, it hits hard! Hopefully in a couple of weeks it might have gone altogether. Hope you well better today.

Good luck with everyones scans today! Hope there is loads of big smiley faces

xx

theboob · 26/03/2009 08:35

good luck with scans today,i will check back later for all the news

smallone · 26/03/2009 09:05

Thanks everyone, strangely I'm not that bothered about scan, it can't be helped and dh doesn't work tues and I'm a sahm anyway so it doesn't inconvenience us at all. I thinks its like doing the pg test, I was desperate to do one till I decided I prob was pg, then I was happy to leave it for a few days. Am I mad?

Thanks HT I'll check that one out!

Good luck with scans today

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 26/03/2009 09:30

Had my scan yesterday and lost a few days but that everything was OK. 2 of everything that there should be 2 of etc !! Am 11/4 with a due date of 11 October - will start encouraging baby to arrive end of September of course !

Had to have 8 vials of blood taken - think I was nearly eligible for a biscuit and a cup of tea !

Nuchal fold was 0.9mm which is a good measurement for my age (35) and will hopefully match up with some good blood results !

Now have a fetal consultant appointment next week and weekly scans !

Good luck to all scanners today !

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 26/03/2009 09:48

Hi ladies,

I have bunked off work today. Was feeling sooooo tired and a bit coldy. Getting DS ready for his dad to take him to nursery was exhausting. Rang work and said I had a cold!!!!

Anyway I'll be in all day for a chat if anyones bored...

HappyTangerine - my random cravings have been tangy fruit, pineapple chunks, erm iced gems?????, DS's piggy sweeties from M&S, toasted tea cakes, proper baked potatoes and costume dramas.

LittleMissBliss I heard that the itching is to do with all the mad hormones running around. I have had itchy palms / feet. To prevent stretch marks I have been using Body Comfort from Green People, I don't know if it will help the itching but it smells and feels gorgeous. Free delivery if you order in March.
www.greenpeople.co.uk/body-comfort-200ml.aspx

Willmouse - I don't know if I do want a C Sec this time. I found it all massively traumatic last time. I was left unable to sit up and pick up my DS to BF in hospital. There were not enough staff. It was awful. Am blanking it out and will have to just hope things are better this time.

Have a good day all!

DogStar · 26/03/2009 10:46

hi all

so had my scan on tuesday, everything looking good. Phew. was 12/2 edd October 4th.

so have started telling friends. Ds is beside himself with happiness, keeps saying '...when my baby comes...'

Nuchal fold 1.1 mm which is a good start, like you ICBINB am waiting for the bloods now to tally.

I'm thinking about doggus today, and wishing you really all the best with your scan today x

doggus · 26/03/2009 13:45

I have some bad news - I had a miscarriage last night at home. My bleeding got a lot worse so I was prepared.

I just want to say thank you for being such good pals on here and wish you all the very best for the rest of your pregnancies.

Hopefully I will be back ASAP on another ante-natal thread! xx

sammysam · 26/03/2009 13:53

Oh my god doggus I'm so so sorry Are you ok? I really wasn't expecting that I'm sending loads of love your way-make sure you take extra special care of yourself. I don't know what to say-I really am so shocked. x x x x

doggus · 26/03/2009 13:59

Hi sammy - I am OK, very tearful and upset, which I would guess is completely rational.

The problem is I had heard the heartbeat so despite the bleeding I thought I was going to be OK.

I don't want to freak any of you out though - it is very rare what happened to me - apparently once you hear the heartbeat you are something like 98% sure of having a baby.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 26/03/2009 14:04

Oh no. So sorry to hear your news doggus. Just awful. Been there myself.

Hope you are feeling ok. Look after yourself. Big hugs. xxx

sammysam · 26/03/2009 14:05

Doggus-I am so sorry. I would say that loads of tears are completely normal You sound like you are being so very brave. I really wish you so much luck for the future and that you can join another antinatal thread very soon and stay with it right to the end.....
I can't believe it. The fact that you had heard the heartbeat was so promising.
Take it very slow and easy-really look after yourself x x x

CookieMonster1 · 26/03/2009 14:18

So sorry to hear your news Doggus. Take care.

DogStar · 26/03/2009 14:27

I am so sorry doggus.

really wish you all the best and a lovely healthy pregnancy soon - I am so sure you will. x
