doggus-I do hope everything is OK.

I bought this doppler as it shows the heart rate. Am interested to know which dopplers you are all using.

doggus - forgot to respond to you when i posted earlier. I had a little bit of bleeding at 5+6, but it turned out to be nothing. It was nothing like what you had, but I did quite a lot of reading up on bleeding in pregnancy and it often can happen for no apparent reason. If you've had a scan and everything seems fine, then try not to worry.

Hurray that you're not bleeding anymore - that has to be a good sign.......

sammysam · 16/03/2009 14:32

Thank you so much sparkly and douggus-i'll try you suggestions and that is great news about the citrus

Doggus I'm so happy the bleeding has stopped

I'm so tempted to buy a doppler but know i'd get too carried away and use it too much prob best I don'e

Oops better dash-dd has just woken up....

lixanismapolium · 16/03/2009 15:17

YYYAAAYYYYY!!! I got appointments through the post at last - Tuesday 24th for midwife and Tuesday 31st for scan.

I'm so relieved, I thought I was going to miss out completely - especially when I called the hospital for reassurance and they just went on about how they quickly get booked up for scans and easily run out of slots!!

Anyway, I can relax now. Only a couple of weeks and we get to see what is in there!

HappyTangerine · 16/03/2009 15:19

Doggus - so glad bleeding has stopped

Had booking in appt with two lovely midwives, one a 3rd yr student and one v experienced mw usually based at hospital but now on a 6m community placement. All went well and I'll be under midwife led care. They couldn't find a vein so bloods will have to be done next week at the scan. Lots of big booklets to read and a dvd to watch.

According to their calculations, I am 12 weeks today, 2 days earlier than I thought.

littlepea72 · 16/03/2009 15:20

Hi everyone, just a quick one as my day has been so bad....im scared to stay on computer to long incase it blows up!! Well the MW is going to phone tomorrow & is doing me out another file (thank god), they just laughed at me & said i wasnt the first . Then i went to Real which is a big food mall here in Germany to do my weekly shop. I wasnt feeling very well earlier, ms, lightheaded, headache ect...but went anyway as we are so low on food. Half way round i knew something wasnt right, so i went with what i had upto the cash till, i remember handing over the money.....then nothing....i only went and fainted! lol...I came round to loads of Germans asking me something (?) and then they tried to stuff a mars bar down my throat! Oh the shame ....going to bed soon & staying there lol..xx

theboob · 16/03/2009 16:19

oh no littlepea....rest up ,i used to faint with DD and feel the same if i get hungry this time

doggus yeah for no more bleeding

yeah for everyone else that got their apt through

HC i still get crampy now and again, the MW said it would be streching

think i will buy a dopler but not yet ,still feeling ill here ,think i over did it taking thr dc to the water park, they loved it though x x

twinklegreen · 16/03/2009 17:10

Hi all,

doggus so pleased to hear the bleeding has stopped.

I've just got a quick question about Slapped Cheek. I seem to remember that there was a bit of discussion about it a couple of weeks ago.

Am I right in thinking that it causes miscarriage up to 18weeks? presumably this is only if I catch it? Are you immune if you've had it as a child? Is it only infectious before the symptoms appear? Sorry for all the questions, Just picked my daughter up from nursery to find out that the child she was playing with this morning got sent home feeling ill and was diagnosed with slapped cheek.

Am feeling a bit annoyed as I'm 12 weeks now and was just starting to think I could relax, and now I've got something else to worry about

Sugarkane · 16/03/2009 17:14

Hi everyone congrats to the 12 weekers, and its great the bleeding has stopped now doggus.

I had my booking app and as usual they couldnt get blood from me, they said that they would rush my scan through as I still dont know how preg I am , but im worried now as I have B12 injections regularly and I feel little crappy like they are low again, I really need my bloods checking wish my scan appointment would hurry up. Anyone else have B12 probs. If so how you feeling.

Oh an I have just found out my little sister is also preg, due around the same time as me AIBU to feel a little upset as I now have to share?? God that sounds so bad.

MustGetSleep · 16/03/2009 18:31

Right. Trying to catch up.

I will forget/mix up names, so am going with the details. Tis really not personal - I need to have met people at least 10 times in rl to remember names , I hate myself for it!

Poorly child - urgh and nightmare trying to clear up poorly kids with sickness of your own.

Yay for bleeding stopping!!!

Yay for the 12 weekers - it seems a lifetime away still!

Slapped Cheek - Yes, it is contagious before the symptoms, think it is up to 18 weeks (def past 12), if you had it as a child you are ok. The majority of GPs will test you for antibodies for it though.

Sugarkane - My stepsisters both announced pregnancies due just after my last one, amidst all great drama (both young, no/unstable father, secret for months etc). I was upset that they got all the attention I think it is only natural. I'll never forget the feeling of smugness that I had a DS, and seeing as I already had a DD I had produced one of each sex "for my father" before them . They are still the less favoured children though

Ok, so maybe that wasn't helpful input - we have family isshoos anyway

For me - I feel good. The meds are amazing. I feel tired, slightly queasy when I am hungry, but I can function. I feel like I have my life back again. I have lost 7lb in total so far with the sickness, prob will lose more as I am still not eating much , but clothes will become an issue due to bump shape more than weight gain soon.

ballio · 16/03/2009 18:37

Hi all, im now 10 +4 and noticed im bleeding....its red but there isnt much of it an the moment. got scan booked tomorrow but fearing the worst. has anyone got any positive stories of this??

HappyTangerine · 16/03/2009 19:09

Apologies in advance to anyone I miss here-am so tired I'm off to bed in a minute.

ballio - how scary for you. Hopefully all will be okay, there are a few threads about people finding red blood and scan showing all is well. Hope the night goes quickly for you and sending you a huge hug and good vibes for your scan tomorrow.

Sammysam - good luck for scan tomorrow. How is DD now

*MustGetSleep - yay for you feeling better!

Littlepea - hope you are getting lots of rest and glad you mw was ok abut the notes. Strange images in head of well meaning German people trying to feed you while you're unconcious!

Sugarkane - okay, feel better that I'm not the only one with no veins! Re your sister- I would be thoroughly hacked off so don't think you're being unreasonable, it's a natural reaction. Later on, you'll probably be glad of it but now-I see what you mean.

lixanismapolium - yay for your appointments coming through at last!

Smallone - missed your post re breakfast earlier. I struggle as well. Mw recommended Rich Tea biscuits as soon as I wake up follwed by whatever I fancy. At the moment, thats Baxters chicken broth soup...

HC - am also crampy atm, mw reassured me is all stretchy normal cramps so trying not to think about it(easier said than done I know)

have a good evening all x

doggus · 16/03/2009 19:59

I spoke too soon - the bleeding is back, but only a little bit. I am just going to try to forget about it unless it gets any worse as it is only a tiny smear now. I have heard so many positive stories on here that I am going to assume positive thinking status and won't mention it any more (unless it stops definitively!).

sammysam and HC - I think if I get one like you, ss, I will just use it every five minutes so am holding off for the moment.

littlepea - poor you but you did make me laugh with concerned Germans and Mars bars.

sugarkane - I'd be just like you!

mustgetsleep - yay you for feeling good.

ballio - I am in the same boat at 10w 0d. It's awful isn't it. But take heart, I had my scan last week and all was well despite the bleeding. Is it like me - when you wipe after a pee? Mine is bright red too. My obstetrician reassured me by saying 25% of healthy pregnancies bleed...

ballio · 16/03/2009 20:03

doggus - yes its awful, got some period type cramping too, did you get any of that?
Glad all good with you!

HumphreysCorner · 16/03/2009 20:33

ballio-how do you feel? Do you still 'feel' PG ie. sore boobs, nausea etc? What time is your scan? Try and rest tonight and I hope all will be fine for you.

doggus-monitor your bleeding too and ring the Dr won't you if it gets any worse.

ballio · 16/03/2009 20:49

Not sure how if feel, i definately felt sick still on sat but i have good days and bad days. think i still had bit of nausea yest and today. boobs re still bit tender..........i really dont know! bleeding stopped at the moment but got period type cramping

doggus · 16/03/2009 21:24

ballio - I had a bit of cramping yesterday, some this morning, it comes and goes. I think the worst bit is not knowing, being in limbo. Like you I am not sure if I still 'feel' pregnant either, all I have is severe fatigue and even my boobs are less sore but then again all that could be because we are at 10 weeks! I will be thinking of you tomorrow for your scan and really really hoping you get a great result. Hang in there.

HC - thank you, that's exactly what the midwife said to do. Apparently if you go to A&E they don't scan you nowadays...

Treats · 16/03/2009 22:17

Sugarkane - me too! My sister is due 8 days after me and I felt just the same as you when I found out..... Tbh I think the best thing is to be completely honest about how you feel (not to her though!). I found that acknowledging that that was the way I felt and giving myself 'permission' to feel that way (sorry, this sounds a bit psychobabbly ) - i.e. don't berate yourself for being a bitch but tell yourself that it's completely natural to feel that way - is the quickest way to get over it. If you let the feeling fester, to the extent that you're suppressing resentment every time you see her, then it's going to be very difficult. Let the feeling out then let it go. At the end of the day, your baby will be very special to you and your DH/ DP and that's all that matters. And how cool will it be to have a cousin so close in age for them to play with!! My sister and I have been in touch far more than we used to be now that we have pregnancy notes to compare - so you can turn it into a positive. Good luck with that - and I'm here if you want to rant........

ballio and doggus - fingers crossed for you. I'm sure everything's fine......

littlepea - hope you're feeling better. Sure you didn't do it for the free Mars Bar?

sammysam · 17/03/2009 07:20

Ballio-am keeping my fingers crossed for you and as others have said don't worry (easy to say I know) as there are so many good stories, I also seem to remember my mum saying that either with me or my sis she bled on and off throughout the pregnancy-and we're both in our late 20's now

Doggus-i'm sorry it's started again-hopefully it'll stop soon-fingers are crossed!

Littlepea-how bad and funny (after the event!!) How is your German? I would have been so disorientated coming round to crazy German talking masrs bar weilding people! I hope you are ok now!

Mustgetsleep-I am exactly the same re names-if not worse. I hardly ever use peoples names when talking-especially if I haven't known them long as I just can't remember names-I've always been like it and my dad is the same . At college and Uni i've been know to meet new people, told their name and a week later ask them something rediculas like 'so how do you spell your name?' just to re-find out their name without having to admit I can't remember!! It takes forever on here going back through messages to find the names to make posts more personal-I like your method though wander if we can get away with doing that from now on?!!! I'm very sorry everyone It always comes accross as rude when you can't remember names-like it wasn't important enough to remember-I just really can't do it-I really people who can.

Now i've ranted I can't remember who else I wanted to mention-I'm sorry if I missed you out

I'm SO SO SO scared about my scan this morning I really am. I'm almost having palpitations just sat here and I have 4 hours to go.....I'll be having a heart attack by the time we get there
What can I do to calm down?

DD was sick all day yesterday but had no D, she has slept the whole night and seems better this morning (touch wood) but from the smell think the D might be on its way back. I've never known a bug with such large gaps between bouts and with the D& V almost taking turns........very very weird. I really hope it's on it's way out......

Cazza28 · 17/03/2009 08:24

ballio and doggus hope all is well with you both... hopefully we will have some good news from your scan soon ballio xx

Just checking in to say hi really [big wave] 10 days and counting till my scan. My arm is still bruised from my bloods seems to be growing down my arm now!!

Cazza28 · 17/03/2009 08:26

sorry good luck with your scan to sammysam

ballio · 17/03/2009 08:35

Thanks for all your messages...i havent had any now bleeding overnight but had some brown blood this am when wiping (sorry tmi) scan at 10.20 so at least will know for sure today.
Good luck with yours sammysam

stroopwafel · 17/03/2009 08:42

Morning ladies,

Ive had visitors the last weekend so feel like Ive missed loads these last days!
Congrats to the 12 weekers, just seems like an aaaaaage away for me (only 7 + 5!).

doggus and ballio - sorry to hear about the bleeding.. keeping my fingers crossed its nothing serious.
littlepea - good to hear you have some friendly locals there, mars bar?!

Just got back from dropping ds off at playgroup this am. He kicked and fought all the way down the road (he's 2 1/2) and it was so awful I wanted to cry! We are moving in a few months to another area, so maybe I will just pull him out early. I have thought there are problems there before, but this was an extreme reaction. Poor lad, its so unlike him. The teachers there blame language (english at home.. dutch there) but Im not convinced thats the problem.

Got my 8 week scan on Thurs, and having really mixed emotions about it this time round. My tummy is so huge already friends are teasing me its twins! But saw another post where a mw said it was just bloating, so think thats more likely (gawd I hope so!!!). I had a fairly flat stomach 6 weeks ago though!

Hope the weather is as fine where you are as it is here Roll on summer!

CalypsoFlame · 17/03/2009 09:06

Lovely sunny morning to everyone,

I was itching to go for a run this morning, but when I went on Saturday, there's no denying it; I don't fit into my running kit anymore, especially the sports bra , so waiting post-scan on Thursday before splurging on new kit.

12 weeks tomorrow, but having heard nothing on the doppler for the past week, not feeling quite as cheerful as I might - so to all those getting to 12 weeks and having great scans, big congrats, very happy for you, and lots of luck to the rest of you having them in the next few days.

doggus and ballio I really hope you are both fine and bleeding is nothing detrimental.

Hope things improve immensely to all those with poorly little ones, house viewings, awol administrative paperwork and anything else that's making our lives more complicated

littlepea72 · 17/03/2009 09:10

Hi everyone!! Good luck with the scans today Sammysam & Ballio. Ballio it could be anything & nothing, try not to worry, look at Doggus who was given the thumbs up, like someone else said, it could be when your cycle would of be due....anything. Will be thinking about you. Will write a bit more later as ms is here & is hating me...been up all night with my head down the loo lol....

Doggus....how are things today??
