Morning all

Doggus - did you get any trousers/jeans? I went out to look for some yesterday and ended up buying shoes Really nice yet sensible sandals to walk around in all summer so most pleased with myself.

Littlepea - LOL it is the sort of thing I would do. Surely they can't have gone far!

Fidelma - I have also started watching Discovery Home and Health. I am sure I watched virtually every episode of Portland Babies when on mat leave last time! They need some new (non-American) shows.

I am feeling better now. Morning sickness doesn't kick in now until about 7pm so I get most of the day nausea free!

sammysam · 15/03/2009 16:07

Doggus-I hope everything is still ok-what a huge scare I'm glad everything looks ok!

Littlepea-she may be a tad upset-but far better to have lost them at this point than a few weeks before the birth -make sure you point that out

DP is back from our friends stag do-the stag passed out at 9.30!!!

How lovely is the weather today
Just had a lovely pub lunch sat outside in the sunshine-roll on the summer!!!

I've found some really nice shoes for the wedding......may just wear them!!! Will have a look for a dress next weekend-hopefully i'll sort it all then

littlepea72 · 15/03/2009 17:14

I have spent the whole day in tears, not just crying, but load sobbing! I dont know what i could of done with them, even my DH helped and we took the whole house apart. I will phone her tomorrow & take what she throws at me ...how could i lose them??

HumphreysCorner · 15/03/2009 17:27

Have you looked under the car seats, amongst newspapers, magazines that you may have thrown out? Under the sofa, under the bed? Don't upset yourself, honestly, she won't be cross.

Littlepea - think back, when did you last physically have them in your hands? Close your eyes and try to visualise what you were doing then retrace your steps. Sods law mean the minute you ring her, you'll find them.

Could they be in a bag you use only occasionaly or gone outside with paper recycling by mistake? Please don't worry yourself about it, she'll understand x

Doggus - how scary, glad all is okay

MustgetSleep - hope you're feeling better

I have had a blissful weekend of going to bed at 1am and sleeping through my usual waking up morning sickness time of 4am! God, it's made such a huge difference,I feel human again!! Hope you've all had nice weekends.

LittleMissBliss · 15/03/2009 22:17

Evening all so exhausted, (should be in bed)

Worked a 12 hour shift yeasterday finishing at 12pm! and worked again today then came home to tidy the house with dp. He'd spent the whole weekend glossing the windows, cleaning the windows and guttering and general tidying. We have our first viewing tommorrow! Very impressed as the pictures of the house only went up on the net Friday!

Ds came home from spending the weekend at dp's mum a little terror. He always comes back in an over tired state. And tantrums over the slightest thing.
I think its a mixture of his routine being disrupted and too much over stimulation. But He loves his nana so much and running arround their mahoosive garden (I think this is where the over tiredness arises) i can't complain and it allows us to get on with things at the house and for me to work weekend and dp to work weekends.

Littlepea- hope you find your notes! Do you have more than one bag? Could they have fallen behind the sofa? Have you filled them away? Put them amoungst magazines? Put them on the book shelf? Good Luck!

littlepea72 · 16/03/2009 07:04

We took the whole house apart, even pulled out the dishwasher & f/freezer! They cant be in the house. I had them over a week ago, on the sofa, now im thinking have i threw them out by mistake. We even pulled the basement appart. My scan date etc was there too, so i really do need to see the MW lol...i couldnt stop crying yesterday, think the hormones were flying! Will phone her in a couple of hours.

I dont know how everyone can work! Littlemiss, im just knackered reading your post! I really am feeling this pregnancy, but the scan will make it all worth while.

Doggus, how are you? how have things been?

Well off to make the breakfast & wait for the MW to start......

sammysam · 16/03/2009 07:53

littlepea-really don't worry, she won't shout at you and it won't be too big a job to redo them. Just tell her how sorry you are and say the new ones will live in the safest place in the house from now on

littlemiss-there is no way I could do that shift (or any) massive respect to you!

Doggus-how are you? I hope the bleeding has stopped as although they have said it is fine it must be heart stopping everytime you see it and mean it is very hard to relax.

DD was fine yesterday so we went out and met friends for lunch....then at 7.30pm she was sick everywhere again.....what the hell is going on? It was 24-36hours after the last time. She was fine over night and seems ok this morning but we'll have to stay in today and miss tumble tots as I don't want to risk her spredding it (think that is where she must have caught it in the first place). I'm quite happy to stay in as I have no energy-dd however is NOT going to be happy
It might be a looooonng day!

Only about 27hours til my scan......aaaahhhhh

HappyTangerine · 16/03/2009 08:05

LittleMissBliss - good luck with the viewing. I am in total admiration of you working 12 hr shifts and then coming back to clean house!

LittlePea - sorry you didn't find them. I'm sure she'll be fine, you won't be the first person to have lost something-I'm sure she has lost the odd set of notes and had a panic as well!

SammySam - my neice was like this when she had d&v, we thought she was over it then it all started again(so we thought). She was sick twice then fine again, almost like the illness having its last hurrah. Hope your dd is okay today

Stayed up until 1am again and didn't wake up at 4 to be sick. Leaves me knackered tho. have been retching this morning but no ms for the 3rd day. Its so wonderful. Bit worried about the wedding we're going to on Thursday because we're leaving at 4am and I'm driving.

My car saga continues - am dropping it off to be fixed at 9am and hopefully will have a car that locks by 5pm! Am meeting with midwife at 1am.

Any ideas for a wedding present for a q wealthy couple who have everything? They have not made a gift list.

HappyTangerine · 16/03/2009 08:06

ahem, that should read meeting with the midwife at 1PM! x

LittleMissBliss · 16/03/2009 08:50

Thankyou i'm a little . Can i just add it's not a normal occurance that i work a 12 hour shift!

sammysam I hope the bug is flushed out now and she's better this evening. You should take your dd to monkey buizness today! we'll be there as its the best way to tire ds out with little effort, and keep the house as tidy as possible untill the viewing at 5.30. We'll be there from 1pm onwards (after ds's nap and cheapy toddler time!) I'll be the one wearing the red carnation, with a paper under my arm.

Doggus I hope you are feeling ok! A girl i work with told me yesterday that she had a really heavy bleed after having sex at 14 weeks and went on to have a healthy pregnancy. I also i know someone else who didn't know she was pregnant until 16 weeks, as she was still getting light periods! She only found out 5 days before leaving for a gap year of travelling, and that was only due to her sister forcing her to take a test! She thought she was just putting on a little weight . She went on to have a healthy baby boy but didn't make it to Australia .

Happy I hope your car is sorted at last!
Good luck with you MW apt. As for the present could you get them an oxfam gift?
Goat, safe water, seeds etc. www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/hub.aspx?catalog=unwrapped

smallone · 16/03/2009 08:54

Morning all,

HT could you make a donation to comic relief? Tell them you've paid for xnumber of malaria nets etc? I'm sure they've got details on a website somewhere. Someone got us 10 apple trees for an African village through "send a cow" which we really appreciated.

littlepea have you checked down the back of the sofa? Ours is notoriously hungry and I've found all sorts of things down there in the past. I'm sure you'll find them as soon as you get new ones done. I'm sure you're not the first to lose them, what with pregnancy brain!

Can anyone tell me what they're having for breakfast please? I'm really struggling to find anything that I fancy.

Have a good day all.

sammysam · 16/03/2009 08:57

Thanks littlemiss........I think I spoke too soon though-dd has been sick all over the carpet so am waiting for the docs to ring after 9-no idea what they will do though but everyone says phone the docs...
So don't think you'll want us to come to monkey buizness to infect everyone

Poor dd, and poor cream carpet

HappyTangerine · 16/03/2009 09:19

Thanks for suggestions re wedding present. we were given an Oxfam goat for one of our wedding presents and I loved it! Was looking for something dog charity related but can't seem to find what I'm looking for so charity donation may well be the way to go.

HumphreysCorner · 16/03/2009 09:31

Poor DD sammysam-perhaps the Dr can give her something.

Haven't been sick this morning, the first time ever so now freaking out that my symptoms must be going.

Taking DD2 to nursery for the first time at 10am so must dash!

Sammysam- Oh no poor thing. The doctor may suggest to starve her of everything but liquids. Maybe something like ribena or watered down orange juice, for the sugar and salts and to stop her dehydrating. Sometimes they give you some salts i think to add to water.

HC- Hope everything goes well at nursery bet she'll have loads of fun!

theboob · 16/03/2009 09:59

morning all

sammy sam ...hope your DD feels better soon, not good for MS

HC ,i bet she will love it,enjoy the peace and quiet

good luck to all with scans this week ,i'm sure you will all be fine x

well i have made it
12 weeks today !!!!!!! i know things can still go wrong, but to be at 12 weeks feels great

hope you all have a great day x x

MrsPuddleduck · 16/03/2009 10:13

Hi

TheBoob - Wow 12 weeks! I remember when you first posted on here and I wasn't even pg! congrats!

Sammysam. My DS2 suffers from reflux and when he caught the winter vomiting bug about 18 months ago we literally couldn't get him to keep anything down. The trick is this. Get the natural diaoyalite and make it with strong squash (with the sugar - they need it). Little and often is 5ml every 10 mins. It is really tedious and we used a syringe but it only took a morning for him to be able to keep fluids down. hth.

Doggus - have you reported back on your shopping trip yet? Hope the bleeding has stopped.

Smallone - I am back to weetabix for breakfast now that I don't feel sick first thing but I don't suppose that helps. How about a scrambled egg?

Hi to everyone else

I am waiting for the midwife to come for my booking in appointment!

Treats · 16/03/2009 11:16

Hurrah theboob - how exciting to be at 12 weeks. I'll be there next Tuesday.....

Sammysam - hope your DD feels better soon. It's the last thing you need, I'm sure.

littlepea - at the lost notes, but I'm sure it'll be fine. At least you can honestly say that you looked EVERYHWERE......

Nothing to report for me at the moment. Saw the keeyootest little pair of booties in a shop yesterday but DH banned me from buying them. He thinks it's still too early to be buying things and that we should wait till after the scan to be sure. I know he's right, but these were so gorgeous! I shall head straight back to the shop after the scan next Friday........

Lots of MW appointments this week! Mine should have been on Thursday but I'm off on holiday for a week on that day, so I've had to put it off until I get back. Hope everyone else's goes well. And we're nearly at the scans.........

MrsPuddleduck · 16/03/2009 11:20

Midwife appointment went well. I have been referred to the consultant I usually see and she basically said I would be fine to opt for a thrid c-section . Also will be fine to go on holiday in July and positively encouraged it!

I was a little surprised to be told that I could have 3 units of alcohol a week once I was past the third trimester. I thought it was positively discouraged.

Right, off to read through all the paperwork I have been given!

sammysam · 16/03/2009 12:36

Yes this is definately NOT good for ms last night dp was useless as was hungover from friends stag do so I had to clear it up-making myself sick as well.....

Well doc has given blackcurrent diaoyalite-which dd hates-maybe I could mix it with squash? Have to get a stool sample-easy enough and a urine sample-never gonna happen!!! Gave me a load of printed info and it says to keep feeding them as normal if they want to eat-that goes against everything I thought-surely normal food-well certain things aren't a good idea-citrus fruit for example that dd is begging me for Anyway i'm just keeping my fingers crossed it stops asap as its my scan tomorrow and we only have one babysitting option as MIL is on hol. I'm sure my friend won't want my sicky dd to look after risking her dd getting it. So that would mean that dp would have to stay at home and i'd have to go on my own

Willmouse-may have to resort to some kind of forceful technique! That is good news about the c-section.

I wish we could be outside enjoying all this lovely sunshine

HumphreysCorner · 16/03/2009 12:38

Am terribly crampy girls, is this normal? Have just tried the doppler and did get a fast heartbeat straight away but it wasn't any higher than 155 beats. Am going to try later with an even fuller bladder.

Just got back from the nursery and I wanted to cry and I stayed with her. Think I was expecting it to be like DD1's nursery but that cost the earth so should have realised it wouldn't be but DD2 seemed to enjoy herself and we are going again on Thursday. The children were lovely and the staff were amazed how good DD2 was

theboob-12 weeks, wow! Should be there on Thursday or Monday according to the MW.

Roll on the 24th for my scan.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 16/03/2009 13:40

Hi guys, just a really quick post, sorry:

sammysam, its ok to give citrus fruit, its high in fibre (to bulk up contents of bowels and avoid constipation / diahorroea (SP)) , water (to help reyhdrate) and vitamins (to help fight it off)...just try to avoid dairy products, spicy foods and anything too greasy.

My DS has had multiple bouts of really bad gastroentiritis and every time the health visitors and docs have always said to offer him little and often, as bland as possible, and all fruit and veg are fine. Personally I'd stay away from 'trumpy' veg, like brussels and cauliflower and cabbage, but can't imagine your DD is pestering for those . Also, if they don't want to eat, don't push it, just make sure the fluids still go in.

Hope that helps and that poor DD is feeling better soon.

10 weeks today for me, still feeling a bit nauseous occasionally, and can now 'feel' that something is in my tummy (i.e. my uterus) but as there's so much padding, its not a defined shape, IYSWIM? Trousers are much tighter today too and my appetite is still through the roof - all good signs I trust.

Two more weeks till my 12 week scan.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 16/03/2009 13:41

Ooooh, and have ordered a doppler which I hope gets here soon!

doggus · 16/03/2009 14:06

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the kind words and thoughts - the bleeding intensified yesterday and I had terrible tummy ache. I thought the worst and then realised I'd had All Bran for brekkie which alawys gives me cramps. This morning, no blood when I wiped YAY! Going to the GP in a minute to test for urine infection/anything else they can think of.

Wilmouse - I went to H&M and found that my fat bum could no longer fit into a maternity 14 and they had no 16s in the style I liked. I think I am going to try to order online.

sammysam - when ds had this we followed the BRAT diet - bananas, apple sauce, rice and toast. We also gave him things like Ritz crackers for the salt. It seemed to help but I think it was more of a question of improvement over time. We also put a towel in between the sheet and mattress in the cot which saved our bacon!

theboob - yay for 12 weeks!

sparkly - where did you buy your Doppler?

littlemiss - it really helps to hear happy endings, thank you.
