Good luck with the scans today! Lovely weather here again today!

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 17/03/2009 09:41

Haven't been around for a while - and my poor aching head really can't plough through all the missed posts ! So just hoping we haven't lost anyone and that everyone is now that little bit closer to their scan !!

I am a walking virus at the moment, we've had slapped cheek (me and DS), norovirus (DS and DP) and now I have a cold

Add to that the feeling sick all the time, headaches and general tiredness ..... ho hum !!

But scan next Wednesday - can't bloody wait !

HumphreysCorner · 17/03/2009 10:21

Morning ladies

Good luck for scans today ladies. ballio will be in there now.

Still crampy today but scan is a week today so not too long. Booking in with the MW on Friday.

idreamofbeanie · 17/03/2009 11:52

Hi all,

sorry I haven't been around much but I found I was getting really obsessed and anxious about my scan so trying to stay away from MN most of the time and think something else until my scan on Monday. I'm really not a natural worrier but this pregnancy has totally brought it out on me . I'm just lurching from madly excited to crazily worried.

Just wanted to pop in and say sorry for all of you with rotten bugs/DCs with bugs. Hope everyone is feeling better soon. The MS is bad enough without crappy viruses hanging around!

Doggus and Ballio I hope the bleeding has stopped. There are loads of stories on here about ladies with a little bleeding in the early weeks going on to have completely healthy pregnancies.

Good luck with the scans Sammysam, Lal & Ballio - I'm sure everything will be great and you'll soon be very excited at seeing your lovely healthy little beans!

Hi to everyone else

BlackEyedDogstar · 17/03/2009 12:09

Good luck to everybody having scans today I am sure all will be fine and reassuring.

I think a little bleeding and some cramps are par for the course especially first few months? Try not to worry!

I have stopped feeling nauseous really now - but I am 11 weeks so I guess I'm moving beyond the sicky first trimester [hopeful]. Feel quite 'womb-ey' iykwim?

My scan + nuchal is one week away! Can't wait, like everyone here I need to see PROOF that this pregnancy is progressing...

fidelma · 17/03/2009 13:33

Hi to all

Just thought that I would say Hi.I have been quite sick but oh my god the accupuncture seems to work I feel pretty good today. The Dr even gave me needles to do it on myself. Its not difficult and I know the points.I can really recommend it for anyone feeling sick.

Good luck with the scans.xx

doggus · 17/03/2009 13:55

Thinking of everyone with scans today....good luck to everybody.

We have a nanny in the mornings for our ds and she has kindly taken him out this afternoon to the beach so I can put my feet up. But I feel really guilty and miss him - must be hormones! So stroopwafel I feel your pain: it must have been dreadful taking him to nursery.

lal123 · 17/03/2009 14:50

Had scan - measuring 8+2 or thereabouts with a strong heartbeat so feeling more positive about things. Guess we'll be telling the prospective grannies tonight - why do I feel so nervous about admitting to them that dp and I have sex?? We've already got 1 dd and have been together 16 years fgs!

lixanismapolium · 17/03/2009 14:59

Congrats lal123!!!!!

LOL - you could make out it was only the 2nd time you did it and that the deed was done with the sole intention of having a baby!!!

HumphreysCorner · 17/03/2009 15:08

Great news lal123-what a relief for you.

Hope ballio is OK.

lal123 LOL....after 16 years they would think you were crazy if you werent having sex! Really glad the scan went well, its such a weight off your mind.

My mw rang today and was laughing at me, asked me was it just the book i lost, told her it was everything and she laughed harder! Shes either just really jolly or shes a crazy woman!! lol....

lal123 · 17/03/2009 15:25

you'll not be the first to have lost your book!

lix - 4 times in all - 2 mcs Lucky DP once every 4 years (no his birthday isn't on 29th Feb...)

doggus · 17/03/2009 15:38

lal123 - well done and congrats, what a total relief it must be.

littlepea - after all the worry about the book and notes you must be relieved she was so happy. Maybe she's been at the gas and air?!

ballio · 17/03/2009 16:47

Hi Guys
What a relief....went into my scan shaking with fear! sonographer was very nice and showed me very quickly a lovely heartbeat!!! soooooooo releived, was amazing. i 11 weeks so have to go back next Friday to do the NT and stuff. Bleeding stopped, hopefully that was it!
Thank you to everyone who made me feel a bit better yesterday

HappyTangerine · 17/03/2009 16:47

Hiya, happy St Patricks day everyone. Been shopping in Liverpool for Mothers day presents and there are hundreds of jolly Irish men about, singing and dancing.

Lal - thats great news, congratulations

Ballio and Sammysam - hope all has been okay with your scans

Feeling pretty grim here. The 4am sickness started again today and has continued on and off all day. Debenhams in Liverpool-just managed to get to the toilets in time, Lush-not so lucky and had to run outside. People must have thought I'd been one of the merry St Pat's day drinkers but Lush staff v nice and got me a drink of water.

Fidelma-thanks for tip about acupuncture, may have to give that one a go.

HappyTangerine · 17/03/2009 16:49

Crossed post...

ballio - SO delighted for you, been thinking about you! Poor you, I know that shaking with nerves feeling. I get so bad I won't look anywhere near the sonographer or the screen til they say something, almost like I will jinx it!

Hope sammysam is OK now.

happytangerine - poor poor you. I haven't had nausea so much this time but last pg I remember being sick into a nappy sack outside Goldman Sachs on Fleet Street before a highpowered meeting. I spent the meeting clutching my handbag CONVINCED I was going to be sick into it. There's something so wrong about not vomiting into your own loo!

HumphreysCorner · 17/03/2009 17:36

I hate the way they turn the screen away and say I'll have a quick look first and last time (after a previous MC) it was ages before she spoke. Infact, as soon as I said I'm worried due to a MC last time she soon said oh, there is a heartbeat look, then turned the screen round. Their faces scare me and I shan't sleep between now and next Tuesday.

Result though as MIL phoned earlier and asked how the sickness was. Then said I must be mad so I laughed and said I must. First comment about the baby-yay!
