*Sammysam - hope your dd is better soon, poor little thing, sounds like you both had a grim night.

Smallone - I am and in awe at you hosting so many children & parents, glad you don't have to feed everyone!

Willmouse -God that must have been a shock. hope it is nothing. Through the job I've just left, I have a few books on young children and the autism spectrum - do you want me to send them to you?

Picked up dh last night and came home to find that in the space of the 15 mins I'd been out, some feckless wonder had dumped a pile of brochures on the space in the road where car had been. . They were blowing all over the road so spent ages picking them up. Went out this morning to pick the rest of it and found someone's unshredded binned post wet and on the ground as well-inc car tax disk with her name, address, car reg details, DVLA ref no. .

Was also up at 4am again(oh the irony-when I HAD to get up at 4am for the job, I never could without the aid of 4 alarms)and was sick for Britain so am tired, have headache and in a ratty mood but only have self to look after today so know I'm lucky. I just want to stop being so sick at 4am every flaming morning, its exhausting and gives me stonking headaches. Sorry to moan. On plus side, am ridiculously excited about rugby this weekend - you can take the girl out of Wales...

HappyTangerine · 13/03/2009 12:36

Forgot to ask:

MustGetSleep - how are you feeling today? Hope you're on the mend

Cazza - Am pretty sure it's just paracetemol and rest for the headaches. SIL would get really bad ones every few weeks, coinciding with hormone surges. She was suffering caffiene withdrawl as well though!

patmum · 13/03/2009 12:57

HappyTangerine what time do you go to bed and do you eat anything last thing?

My friend was similar to you and felt that it was a dip in her blood sugar. She found that having a piece of toast and a banana last thing before bed helped her through the night.

HumphreysCorner · 13/03/2009 13:30

sammysam-hope your DD gets better soon. Isn't it only supposed to last 24 hours?

HappyTangerine-the middle of the night sickness has stopped for me thank goodness. Didn't matter what I ate the night before I was still sick in the early hours then again when I got up.

Booking in appointment a week today so scan is 11 days and counting.

Losing all hope with the doppler as lots of heartbeats but all too low so they must be mine.

Loving the smileys

Hiya,

Just stopping by to update as looking at the computer is making my head swim.

Stopped panicking about slapped cheek - 99% sure it is just a virus. I had an anti-sickness injection this morning and have managed to hold down a croissant, plus have been given a prescription for pills. Still feeling wibbly and very dehydrated. I was meant to have a weekend away which was planned months ago, am gutted, but there is no way I can drive a few hours this dehydrated - I think driving to my booking in in a min (5 mins away) is going to be pushing it!

Will try and catch up more when I am more hydrated and less woozy

littlepea72 · 13/03/2009 15:03

Felt so much better this morning, i even went round the house doing housework like a crazy woman, then DH took me out and i had a big fry....big mistake! lol....i feel so ill!! But i could of eaten 4 of them! I think i must be getting the 4 days sick, 1 day off.

Have a great weekend everyone!! x

lixanismapolium · 13/03/2009 15:51

HC - hav you tried the doppler with a really really full bladder? That's what did it for me.

HumphreysCorner · 13/03/2009 16:22

My bladder was a bit full but not bursting. Think I will have to have it really full won't I? Isn't it true you don't have to have a full bladder at the first scan?

Thanks all for get well messages for dd. She hasn't been sick since first thing so hopefully it's on its way out

I'm feeling bad now but think it's just the ms....

HC worth giving a full bladder a try. For my first scan it says not to have a full bladder....think they have upgraded their machines

DP is off out for dinner and i'm staying here with dd-there is no food in the house and i'm in no state to try and cobble something together .........

fidelma · 13/03/2009 17:48

theboobdid they really induce you at 38 weeks because of size? my last was 10lb and a little too big although I made it it was nae bonnie!!!!! I was enormous.I am not very big myself DH was 13lb!!!!! help

twinklegreen · 13/03/2009 18:27

Hi Ladies, sounds like everyone's really suffering at the moment with MS and illness, here's hoping everyone starts to feel better next week.

humphreyscorner I was told to have a full bladder at my 12wk scan, so very kind of them to be running 45mins late. Think it depends on which hospital you're at.

fidelma My last was 10lb6oz, was measuring so big that my midwife didn't even bother writing a measurement after about 28wks just a '+'. They still let me go 14 days over before they induced me. Don't understand why everyone else seems to get growth scans etc when their baby looks big! I even had a friend who got an elective cesarean at 39 wks because of a 'big' baby who turned out to be 8lb2oz. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong, I'm definately going to be more pushy this time if it's looking on the large size!

doggus · 13/03/2009 20:10

OK, sorry this is going to be mememme. I had a fright last night - went to the loo, wiped and there was a streak of blood. I thought I was going to collapse. To cut a long story short, I phoned my EPU and they were closed and in a tizz I rang the obstetrician who scanned me on Tuesday and he was lovely and agreed to scan me at 5pm.

All was well! My cervix was closed which is a great sign and the bub's heartbeat was as strong and fast BUT I am still bleeding - only a teeny tiny bit that you wouldn't see if you weren't looking. Any thoughts welcome - maybe it is just one of those weird things and will stop!?

littlebellsmum · 13/03/2009 20:25

Hi Doggus - I've been lurking here and just wanted to give you some reassurance. If it's brown and that small an amount you are probably fine and it will settle down.
There are loads of posts on mn talking about bleeding and happy outcomes and your scan sounds really positive.

I had minor bleeding when I had my booking in appoint - much more than you are describing and even then, my midwife said it would go either way.

I'm sure it will be just fine - try and relax(and I know just how difficult this is to do)
Good luck

doggus · 13/03/2009 20:35

Hi littlebellsmum - thank you so much. I am actually reading a thread on mn now about bleeding. I think what is doing my head is that my previous pregnancy with ds was a breeze, no bleeding or pain just a touch of morning sickness. I am wishing the bloody nausea back, better than bleeding!

littlebellsmum · 13/03/2009 20:47

I know just what you mean - my first two pregnancies were really easy and I think I was a bit blase about the whole thing.
Hope everything goes well - I'm going back to lurking now!

HumphreysCorner · 13/03/2009 21:03

doggus-how worrying for you. Doesn't sound too serious though and you don't have any cramping do you? Try and rest up if you can.

Hi HC, no cramping, thank goodness, just the usual feeling of utter tiredness! Dh is taking ds off tomorrow so I can put my feet up...x I just wish I was 40 weeks not 10!

HumphreysCorner · 13/03/2009 21:50

That's good.

Off to bed as my eyes won't stay open and I'm trying to watch Comic Relief. Am a complete saddo as I've recorded it so I can watch it when awake.

Doggus at least you have had a scan & people are there to keep an eye on you, so many people talk about it happening to them, and it turns out find, but what a worry it must of been to see it. Im so glad its ok! ....

xx

smallone · 14/03/2009 09:23

doggus how worrying for you. Did they tell you where the blood is coming from? Is it the time your period would have been? Sound like it's such a small amount you should be ok. Definitely use it as an excuse to rest as much as poss.

HC glad its not just me that taped Comic relief! I did stay up and watch alot tho, but my god its traumatic. There's a film of Davina visiting a maternity ward in Africa, my advice is DO NOT WATCH it! It is not advisable for hormonal pregnant women.

Hope everyone has a good day

HumphreysCorner · 14/03/2009 10:33

smallone-I did watch and blubber my way through Davina's trip to the maternity building.

doggus-how are things today?

Here is a pic of my 11 week bump. My size 10 troos are now a tad tight. Still find it hard to believe there is anything in there.

Big wave to all.

doggus · 14/03/2009 15:26

smallone - they have no idea where it is coming from but it doesn't look like it's from anywhere bad iyswim.

littlepea - thank you. I don't think I could have got through the weekend without knowing, the EPU was closed til Monday...

HC - it's still there, same thing, a small smear on the paper when I wipe. Gosh, you are SO slim, what a lovely figure you have. You have about the same size bump as me but I am a size 14 so there are various bulges over the trousers! I am off to H&M (thank you for that recommendation willmouse) for some maternity gear.

Lix - where did you get that fetal doppler from? I reckon it would be cheaper to get one of those than all these private scans!

fidelma · 14/03/2009 18:52

twinklegreen Yes I think I will be more pushy this time.I have been watching Portland Babies on sky (sad I know) but they seem to support the mothers decisions>wish the NHS was a tad more like this even a birth at 40 weeks would be an improvement for me.Oh well fingers crossed perhaps these babies will be a little smaller.
Anyone eles a rugby widow at the moment?(hmm)

Feeling sick yuck yuck yuck !!!(sad)

fidelma · 14/03/2009 18:53

my smileys didn't work
