Welcome schmizaj and andrea and congratulations I apologise in advance for my crazy ramblings-hopefully they'll be better after scan on tues

I too have felt flutterings (certain they weren't wind etc) but that has fueled my paranoia as haven't felt them for a few days.........que another panic!!!!

Willmouse-I had heard on here that blooming marvelous had gone under but I ordered a couple of things from their sale online a couple of weeks ago and it came within a few days so I'm assuming all is ok

Time is draggggggging at the moment-and my imagination is using it for all kinds of nasty tricks and fun and games-not happy about that

I try and remind myself about the 1% statistic but there is no telling my crazy brain at all-the cramps i'm getting at the mo are really not helping either-Please someone tell me to pull myself together

From what everyone has written I'm shocked by how disorganinised antinatal care is-nationwide-doesn't help with stress!!!

sammysam · 12/03/2009 15:30

HappyTangerine- at your friend the groom-surely any person in their right mind would turn down being 'extras' on someones honeymoon

MustGetSleep · 12/03/2009 15:35

I am in bed, feeling like hell. I have been sick more today than ever, and everything hurts in all my joints.

I was stupid enough to google slapped cheek and fit the pre-redness symptoms. The logical part of me says I had it really severely as a child, I must have antibodies, but the less logical is pointing out that I have had a hep b vaccination twice now and still don't procude the antibodies

Scared.

Sorry for blatant ignoring of everyone else.

HappyTangerine · 12/03/2009 15:51

MustGetSleep - oh you poor thing. Can you speak to your midwife or doctor about your worries? Focus on those antibodies, tel yourself you DO have them. I hope things pick up for you soon.(((hug)))

Sammysam - oh it gets better, just found out that he hadn't told the bride he'd invited us on this mini honeymoon! Bet that would have gone down like a lead balloon...

Cazza28 · 12/03/2009 16:06

Mustgetsleep stop googling things it always makes you feel a thousand times worse and the answers are always way out to what you may/may not have! Go and get some sleep and drink lots of water it may make you feel better

Any one know what I can take for stinking head aches? I forgot to ask the MW yesterday. I can normally put up with them but they seem to be getting worse this week!

smallone · 12/03/2009 16:45

Welcome schmizaj and andrea

at your friend HappyTangerine mustgetsleep try not to worry, I'm sure if you googled the symptoms of a common cold you'd get the results of some tropical disease! Have you seen your GP? They could prob take some blood to check for anti-bodies, they did that for my friend when her DS had chicken pox while she was pg.

Cazza I know you can take paracetamol, but don't know about anything else. Hope you get some relief.

Its barfarama for me today, not been sick until today, just lots of retching. Now I've broken the seal and have thrown up everything I had this morning and been dozing on the sofa for most of the afternoon.

I am a terrible mother! Had a bath with dd (2yo) and shaved my legs, pg seems to make them grow like forests. Anyway, had to get out to throw up coz dd was drinking bath water and when I turned back around she'd got the razor off the side and has sliced her thumb. Poor thing, its never within her reach normally, and I've had to put a plaster on her which is almost bigger than her whole thumb!

LittleMissBliss · 12/03/2009 16:46

hi hope everyone is well.

I posted a 20% discount code for blooming marvelous if anyone is thinking of buying anything, but it was on the first thread. will have a go at finding it again.

LittleMissBliss · 12/03/2009 16:56

code- YAYF

ballio · 12/03/2009 17:01

Hi All, got my scan on Tuesday soo excited/worried! feeling less sick than usual so thats not helping my paranoia! hoping i will chill out then if all well.

I am only around 10 weeks but i have a massive tummy! its above my pelvis so assuming its not baby, this is my second pregnancy and wasnt this big ths early with ds1. has anyone got any ideas or shed any light on why?? i look at least 4 months preg, oh and it is there when i wake up so have ruled out bloating

lixanismapolium · 12/03/2009 18:45

ballio - sounds like you're tummy muscles have given in!!! I'm normally quite good at holding it all in looking relatively slim, but have completely lost that ability!

BellaCullen · 12/03/2009 19:12

Hi all,
can`t believe how quickly this thread moves on.
Welcome to Andrea 75 and scmizaj and congratulations.

I have definitley felt baby move from 9 weeks feeling it only few times during week hoping for daily movements soon. With dd felt her from 8 weeks and midwife said definitly possible.I think your just more aware after your first. Can`t wait for scan in 10 days.

Symptons come and go yesterday felt great and really energetic but totally completly exhausted and bad nauseus. My tummy is masive look about 5 months. Will tell work families after scan am fed up wiyh trying to find clothes in cupboard to hid the massive bump.

Went to Primark today got lovely tops and 2 dresses that will look good with a bump so can`t wait till it gets warmer.Would recommend having a look in there its so cheap too. This is advantage of summer pregnancy you can waer dresses a size bigger and long tops.

Dogus and theboob glad your scans were good and those pictures look great.

Off to put kids to bed now and then have a relaxing bath.

HumphreysCorner · 12/03/2009 19:51

Hello and welcome to the newbies-congratulations girls.

Don't know why I have just bought 2 long sleeved tops from Mothercare as it has turned warm. At least I will get wear out of them in September/October. Just need some bigger short sleeved tops.

Hope all OKish.

BlackEyedDogstar · 12/03/2009 20:02

welcome Andrea and Scmizaj

I too have the occasional flutters but I thought I must be mistaken!

I look about 4 or 5 mths! Must do some abdominals after all this . Had a struggle yesterday because our hairdresser came round and as she is the biggest gossip I know I was trying to somehow suck in my big pot belly so that she wouldn't guess.! I've only told mum and one very close friend for now.

I want pretty bump clothes too (but don't want to jinx my scan on 24th. sorry bit weird I know).

MeHimCatBlob · 12/03/2009 22:07

Hi all

havent been on for a while so have been catching up with the ups and downs - now have my dates - next Wednesday for my checking in appointment and 23 April for my scan (I'll be 13-14 weeks by then). am trying not to think about the negatives particularly given I'm fast approaching 40 but who knows.

anyway, enjoy the rest of the week and may your ms get better soon!

Hattie05 · 12/03/2009 22:26

Hi all

welcome and congrats to Andrea.

Congrats to those who have had successful scans!

And those of you being paranoid - i am too! although trying to ignore the fact i'm even pregnant which helps. lal123 thank you, i did speak to epu yesterday they say i had to have 3 miscarriages and were most unhelpful. So i've resigned myself to the fact i won't get a scan and i'll be lucky if i ever here from a midwife as my GP said they don't have one at mos due to short staffing. Hospital midwives will offer antenatal at home, which is no good for me working fulltime cos they can't give appt times! I got quite upset about it all so have just decided to ignore the fact i'm pg for a few weeks.
....saying that its pretty hard as i have a visible bump already and people are starting to stare at work (i'm not being paranoid, cos my one workcolleague I have told noticed also!).

Thanks to Patmum, twinklegreen and sammysam for info on chicken pox. I asked because my dd has been mixing with someone who has it, and dd hasn't had it yet so am wondering if she'll break out in spots soon! But doesn't sound like i need to worry too much.

lixanismapolium · 13/03/2009 07:46

Congrats on the successful scans and welcome to the new girls.

I heard an 'alien' heartbeat on my fetal doppler this morning! I am 9+6.

I've never used one before but am pretty sure it was baby as it was way way way too fast to be mine.

Poor dh, he's not good in the mornings anyway, but was woken up at 5.30 to find a pair of headphones being jammed onto his ears to have a listen!

Have since looked at a few doppler videos on youtube and they sound exactly like what I heard.

So, I'm feeling a lot more positive about this pregnancy now! Have started looking forward to my scan rather than dreading it.

smallone · 13/03/2009 09:05

Blimey lix you get up early! Its a lovely sound isn't it?

Hattie can you see your gp for antenatal? Saw mine at 36 wks and he had a doppler so I would have thought if you were struggling they could do it. All it is really is measuring your bump, testing your wee, taking blood pressure and taking blood if necessary. Maybe if you put a bit of pressure on the surgery they'll be more inclined to recruit a midwife!

Got 5 mums and 7 kids coming for lunch today (tho I've only got to feed the kids fortunately!), not sure why I volunteered to host this week but I've got to live with it now! I hope I have a better morning than yesterday!

DH is talking to me again, think the vomming yesterday must have helped he came home last night talking about baby names. I think he was sulking that I wasn't going look after him anymore, now there's two. Poor lamb. If this baby is a boy I SWEAR I will bring him up to look after himself.

smallone · 13/03/2009 09:06

(tho I've NOT got to feed the kids)

sammysam · 13/03/2009 09:13

Morning all

DD is ill-sick everywhere several times before bed, during dinner, in the bath, in the night, soaked through all her clothes and grobag with poo in the night. Going to docs at 10.30. Can you get like this with slapped cheek? Her cheeks are nearly completely back to normal now.....?
I'm feeling very sick and my bowels don't feel too hot but this is quite normal at the mo anyway-god i hope i don't get it. Its FIL's birthday today and we are supposed to be going out tonight-not great timing-especially as dp is on a stag all weekend

And to make things worse i've put the result of nights washing on and can hear my expensive torch dp gave me going round and round

I was going to comment on posts but can't remember what I was going to say-I'm sorry Had very little sleep last night-it is going to be a very long day. This house SMELLS ill not good at all. Sorry for the big moan-poor dd doesn't understand why she feels so rough-poor little mite

LittleMissBliss · 13/03/2009 09:29

sammy does your dd have DV? Could the red cheaks be down to teething? Poor little one its awful when little ones are sick. Hope the doctor helps and she feels better soon.

Its awful when you put things in the washing machine and there's nothing you can do. Hopefully it may be ok. I think if you put it in a jar of dried rice for a week the rice should absorb all the moisture and it may still work. [hopeful!]

feel a bit rubbish today but these have cheered me up.

sammysam · 13/03/2009 09:37

Thanks littlemiss. I'm simple-whats DV?
Fairly sure she isn't teething.
Hopefully the doc will be helpful-i've worried myself now

I love these-how did I miss them

Better go and get sorted-need to shower etc-might see if dd wants to join me to try and make her smell a bit fresher

MrsPuddleduck · 13/03/2009 09:56

Morning all

Had a traumatic day yesterday. Went along to parents evening expecting to be told about numeracy and literacy targets and instead was asked whether they could get an educational psycologist into DS1 (5) as he is showing signs of being on the autistic spectrum. Not good news especially when your hormones are all over the place and you're not expecting it. Apologised to the teacher this morning for my over emotional reaction!

On the plus side MS has subsided and managed to have weetabix for breakfast (as opposed to toast).

LittleMissBliss · 13/03/2009 11:14

D&V that should have been, less graphic way of say diarrhoea and vomitting- Tummy bug.

Hope she gets better soon.

sammysam · 13/03/2009 11:52

Willmouse-what a shock-especially if you had no idea-not at all good with pg hormones. I'd have either burst into tears or slapped them-no controlling the crazy hormones. It is fantastic that they are on top of it and hopefully its a false alarm but otherwise it is good to catch it early. I hope it is nothing though.
Good news that ms is better-even at my worst i've been ok enough in the mornings to eat my (now) 4 weetabix-don't know how i'd have coped otherwise! But then I have evening sickness and can't manage dinner....

Back from the docs and he thinks its just a gastro bug but i'm not 100% a)i'm paranoid b) I don't completely trust GP'sanc c) dd's red cheeks weren't there at the GP's but are back now-NHS choices says the rash can come and go.
I sound CRAZY!!! I'll see what happens but will definately talk to my midwife when I see her (did send her a text-she seems to operate that way?!-about this and her forgetting to give me the Maternity exemption form thingy-no reply-maybe i'll ring.....don't want to look as crazy as I am though )

Just had dp on phone getting all stressed as he hasn't got his dad a birthday pressie and card and it is too late to ask what he wants now-seeing as it's his birthday today!!! I did ask him 2wks ago-he never learns!!! I can't help him by going to get anything either-maybe this time he will learn not to leave it so late

sammysam · 13/03/2009 11:55

Ah i should have worked that out-yes she does have D&V. Thank you littlemiss
