mrsgamp · 07/03/2009 14:01

Hello there! Is there any chance I can join your thread? I am expecting my third baby in October (22nd), so I'm 7-ish weeks pregnant now. Feeling bloody awful!! Still - and having read some terrible experiences on here, I feel this more than ever - there is something reassuring about feeling so bad...

doggus · 07/03/2009 14:51

Welcome mrs gamp - come on in...

Lizzie - good to hear from you and hope your recovery goes well.

HumphreysCorner · 07/03/2009 17:08

My maternity jeans arrived today, they are mahoosive so hoping to fill them. Despite feeling so sick today I took the girls into town this afternoon to get DD1 some new school shoes and popped into Mothercare and picked up 2 tops in the sale. Hope I've not bought them too soon (tempting fate and all that) but I needed some long tops to hid the telltale stretch panel.

Hello and congrats to mrsgamp.

I feel so cold today but it was so hot in town.

Love to all.

Lizzie - so sad to see your message, take care xxx

Welcome Mrs gamp and congrats

Humphreyscorner, you're not tempting fate, i'm only 6 weeks and desperately wondering if i could get away with some maternity clothes!

I've decided i am only suffering from morning sickness and nothing more serious. I'm not actually sick but every evening feel it bad, and have awful cramps.

I am weeing every 5 minutes as well! don't remember that this badly with other pgs.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Saturdays.

stroopwafel · 07/03/2009 17:41

Thanks for the welcomes all..

Sad to hear your news Lizzie

HappyTangerine Im in The Hague. Spent time here years ago too in Hilversum/Amsterdam and Amersfoort areas, but this is quite different - esp with kids!

Has anyone else had really early signs of being PG? At about 3 weeks (Valentines!) my tummy popped out and started to feel sick about an hr before the babysitter was due. Luckily we were off out to a Thai restaurant, so thought I would go with it, and the stick of ginger they gave me really helped, so was grinning like a cheshire cat, all night thinking it was highly likely I was. Shame I didnt enjoy get to join in enjoying the food though! Anyway, with such early signs... wondering if its a girl this time?

LittleMissBliss · 07/03/2009 18:05

Hi all,

Thank you lizzie for coming back to let us know how you are. Wishing you all the happiness in the near future.

Welcome mrsgamp, Congratulations!

MustGetSleep Yay on the no sickness front, long may it continue!

i've been at home today couldn't face work.
So decided to plant some flowers in the hanging baskets and empty pots. With ds's help which was amusing especially when he was running under the just watered hanging basket like a shower. Did something stupid and picked up a slightly too heavy pot and have now put out my back on the left hand side which is a bloody pain! makes bending very painful. Any tips? I have a hot water bottle on that side at the moment and will have a long bath when ds goes to bed.
On the plus side cold much better and found a lovely house which we look at next week!

HC I'm always drifting into the maternity section when shopping! I have a few new bits at home but i'm not big enough yet desperately want to wear it but i seem to be losing weight. This happened with ds and remeber all the comments 'oh haven't you lost weight', 'are you on a diet?' etc. And me thinking are you mad, i'm pregnant! I later found out its common to loose before gaining! Bring back my belly is all i can say!

littlepea72 · 07/03/2009 19:47

I couldnt believe how much weight i was losing, my jeans where falling off me. I now realise i was wrong! My tummy was gotten bigger & is pushing my jeans down! I must admit not being the most brightest!
Can you get early maternity jeans? Like you said HC im afraid to get them to early, but i really dont think i have much choice.

8+6

HumphreysCorner · 07/03/2009 20:22

LittleMissBliss-I did lose 7 lb but am now putting it back on which is surprising considering the sickness. Must be having an elephant.

littlepea72-my jeans will last me throughout the pregnancy and are ridiculously big but my normal jeans were just too uncomfortable. I have to keep pulling them up but in another few weeks they should be a tad better. I'm sure you can get jeans for early on in your pregnancy but I don't suppose you would get much wear out of them.

Ugh, this nausea is horrid, horrid, horrid!

Hello all - is it just me or is time passing v-e-r-y slowly at the moment? I had my booking in with the m/w on Friday - all was fine until she told me that, as I had a c-section last time, I would be able to go for a VBAC - but would have to be in the labour ward, on continous monitoring, instead of the midwife led birthing centre. They are both in the same place - we have a dedicated maternity hospital where I am - so I had thought I could go there and be transferred if needs be. I cried in the appointment, completely out of the blue, because I remembered how much I hate the dark, miserable labour ward with all the tubes and equipment everywhere.

Feel stupid moaning about this when it is ages away and when there are others with more immediate worries, but noone in RL knows I am pregnant, so can't offload!

Strropwafel - I have the same gender based suspicions, as last pregnancy was a boy and I had no sickness or early signs of preg...in fact no signs or symptoms at all! I have always maintained there is strong anecdotal evidence to support the "ms=girl" theory, but I am sure I will hear lots to the contrary now

KleineMaus · 07/03/2009 21:53

How on earth is everyone managing to keep their pregnancy secret? I have a fairly obvious bump (gets bigger as the day goes on). I'm 10 weeks, nearly 11 (second pregnancy). I wonder if everyone knows already but are too polite to ask. My brother, who has Downs syndrome and isn't usually terribly perceptive, asked me why I had such a fat tummy and was I pregnant again! I managed to laugh it off. My mum knows and 2 of my closest friends, but I keep forgetting people don't know and nearly saying something about it. Can't wait to tell people but don't even have a scan date yet and really want to see that my bean's alive and well before I say.

theboob · 08/03/2009 08:31

twinklegreen · 08/03/2009 09:07

Hi everyone, can I join this thread. I'm due 30th September but have been overdue with the previous 2 so pretty sure this one will come in October. My other children are October birthdays too DD 23rd Oct 05 and DS 21st Oct 07, so I'm just glad this one will not be the 22nd!
Had my scan on Friday as I was officially 13wks but they put me back 2.5wks, which I was expecting as this pg is straight ater a MC.
kleinemaus I look very obviously pregnant as well, I'm sure everyone has noticed but they're obviously just being polite, in case I'm just getting fat. I've actually lost weight so I know it's a baby bump rather than a chocolate bump!
stroopwafle I had very early symptoms too, knew I was pregnant for about 5 days before I got a positive test, boobs were killing me and felt really exhausted.

twinklegreen · 08/03/2009 09:10

theboob hope you feel better soon, I had tonsilitus when I was 5wks, it was awful. x

Hi everyone!
Welcome twinklegreen & mrsgamp!

Get well soon theboob-hopefully the rest of the 9months you'll be very fit and healthy I keep feeling little wiggles too-I hope i'm not imagining them

Lizzie-I'm so sorry Take very good care of yourself-lots and lots of pampering. Wishing you all the best x x x

HC-I hope the potty training is going well!

I'm so sorry i'm so bad at remembering what everyone has said -must try harder!!!

Had a very late night last night as went to see Ross Noble and then had food-I'm really feeling it today-I NEED sleep! Plus did loads of walking between places last night and I got a really bad pain low down-I've now convinced myself I have just pulled a muscle as it only really hurts when I walk-and I do tend to walk fast with a long stride. It did really worry me last night-but can I really have harmed anything just by walking?

Well only just over a week til the scan so not too long to find out if everything is ok [touch wood] [please please please!]

idreamofbeanie · 08/03/2009 18:17

Hi all,

have just had a post-weekend catch up and have promptly forgotten everything I wanted to say .

Boob - hope you are feeling better soon, you are having a rotten time! Take care of yourself.

I've had a lovely weekend - my DB and SIL came to stay in a local hotel for their anniversary and I babysat my lovely niece (6 months) on Saturday afternoon/night so they could have some time to themselves. It was lovely and LO spent most of the day giggling and went to bed without any fuss which made me feel much better about a baby arriving soon. There's a big difference between a newborn and a 6 month old but was confidence boosting anyway.

Feeling much better these days - totally exhausted but just a small amount of nausea on the odd occassion - does that mean I'm having a boy I wonder? I'm still having scary dreams about twins but sure I'd feel worse if that was the case. Roll on the 23rd, can't wait to see my little bean now!

MeHimCatBlob · 08/03/2009 19:40

Hi all

also having my post-weekend catch up - been in CUmbria laying hedges which seems to have temporarily cured my ms (apart from being rediculously cold) although now the cramps have come back but at least i don't feel I have to dash to the loo on a regular basis to check I'm not bleeding if that makes sense.

Hope you all have a great week - only 1.5 weeks till my check in appoint. which I am kind of nervous about as its my 1st.

anyway, hoping to get a good sleep

spongebrainbigpants · 08/03/2009 20:14

Hi all, just marking my place - too tired for much else! Coping with a nine month old and early pg is tough!

Sorry for all those having bad MS and other ailments. I'm feeling much sicker than I did with DS and have already been told I'm having a girl! But the three friends I have who had the worst MS all had boys so I don't believe a word of it personally .

Hope everyone else is well.

Two more sleeps til scan.

HappyTangerine · 08/03/2009 21:03

twinklegreen and mrsgamp - welcome and congratulations

theboob - you poor thing, sending you lots of get well vibes.

Lizzie-have been thinking of you, take care xxx

Hi to everyone else , hope you've all had great weekends

We had a lovely day yesterday, went to Holywell in Flintshire(yay, I got back into my native country for a little bit! ) to see St Winifreide's shrine and then went for lunch at Hoylake on the Wirral. Absolutely exhausted afterwards-went to bed at 8pm. Shattered today too and have done v little as its been blowing a gale.I feel another early night coming on...

LittleMissBliss · 09/03/2009 08:35

Theboob Hope you feel better soon, you poor thing try and get some rest if you can. It must be a challenge with 3 little ones.

Not much to report except now i have a two cold sores! They say bad luck comes in threes so hopefully i'm done now on the illness front.

Thought i might as well get a scratch card yesterday as my luck should be looking up and i won
get ready.......................drum roll.................

a £1.

Have a good day all!

MrsPuddleduck · 09/03/2009 09:09

Hi, hope everyone had a good weekend.

Boob - hope you feel better soon.

So, who is first into the maternity jeans? Is it HC? I am still managing in a size 14 pair I have at the moment but I'm not sure what I'm going to wear when I need to wash them. I am going to try and buy cheapie clothes this time as it is definitely my last. Is it Peacocks or New Look that sell maternity clothes? I can't remember.

I feel much more sick this time and am hoping its because it is a girl but with two boys already don't hold out much hope!

Cazza28 · 09/03/2009 09:09

Hi All,

Sorry to all of you who are not feeling your best. Boob hope you feel better soon, sounds awful you poor girl!
