HC - no, nor me. The weeing thing was terrible for me last time but at about 36 weeks when I was going once an hour and doing little teaspoons full.

Meek · 06/03/2009 15:02

Hi all,

I am tentatively adding myself to this thread having been watching it for a while now. I am 7 weeks tomorrow and due 24th October.

Just in response to a couple of things people are saying:

I am soooo emotional it is ridiculous. Sobbed all the way to work this morning listening to them raise money for comic relief on Radio 1?!?!

Also...am ONLY 7 weeks but after an unbearably uncomfortable day at work yesterday I am in maternity jeans today. Surely it's too early?? x

lal123 · 06/03/2009 15:24

sparkly and Happytangerine - well fingers crossed we'll soon be able to shout out loud and proud that we are pregnant - without having to run to the loo to knicker check!

I'm wishing I could remember my LMP - DP and I have been trying desperately to work it out (or to remember the last time we had sex! . I did my knee in on the 5th Jan and remember moaning that I'd a sore knee, a cold and my period all at the same time. I think LMP would have been around the 10th Jan - but don't really have a clue.

I feel more pregnant than I did before at 6 weeks, but guess I'll just have to wait for the scan.

sammysam · 06/03/2009 15:30

Welcome Meek-congratulations!

Spongebrain-lovely that your consultant will be there for you-good it's a few days earlier as well-keeping my fingers crossed for you

Theboob-how nasty-glad you are on the mend now and I suppose the plus side is that you have now seen a good heartbeat-that should help speed your recovery

Feel crap today-no energy, sick, tired and crampy. Eaten loads of fruit and nut-hasn't made me feel better

Just heard a friend of a friend is pg-due very close to me-so will prob be the closest person I know.........and she IS the last person i'd want to have iynwim?! I know that sounds nasty but we just don't get on-she is very competitive and everything she has/does has to be better than everyone else-not like my laid back style at all-not looking forward to her comparing every stage at all....just have to rise above it

Have tried to look online at wedding outfits as there is a month left-I'm not having much inspiration-think that a high waisted (I can't think what it's called-where it comes down from a line under the bust) would be the best idea as then hopefully it'll just skim the bump (I won't need maternity and I'll be past 12wks so can tell people if they ask and this way hopefully i'll be able to wear it next year )-anyone have any idea where I can find such a dress? Really don't think i'm going to want to wander round shops between now and then

Treats · 06/03/2009 16:03

theboob - so glad to hear from you. I had a nasty feeling that something was wrong. V. V. relieved that you and the bean are both OK. Must have been a horrible experience for you.

HappyTangerine - if you're having a boy, it usually gets showered with testosterone somewhere between weeks 8 and 10 of the pregnancy. I'm wondering if that's the cause of the awful acne and luxuriant moustache I'm currently "enjoying"

Sammysam - understand about your friend. It's my biggest worry about my sister being due so soon after me (8 days). We love each other very much of course, but, well, we're SISTERS. Sometimes wecan't help but wind each other up and I know she often feels that I do things just to show her up (I don't. I just want to be different.....) We're going to be covertly comparing our children and child rearing tactics for the rest of our lives now.

And the kind of dress you're talking about is an empire line dress. Haven't seen any but can't bear to go shopping at the moment. All those lovely new collections and I won't be able to wear them .

sammysam · 06/03/2009 16:12

AHH-thank you treats-thats how bad my brain is at the moment empire line-that might make googling a tad easier
I completely understand-I love my sister but she just can't understand/believe i'm not competitive-she always has been (even to the extent of goint to find my old reports to compare to hers!!!) she hasn't started her family yet and will do things very differently to me when she does-I'm always trying newer things-or 'strange'/'weird' things as she would look at it-she'll be much more mainstream....which will of course be the better way

My skin has been bad and I am too sporting a rather nice tash at the mo (would it be bad to bleach it when pg?) Normally I don't have this......I wander?!!!!

I just CAN'T BEAR THIS WAITING ANYMORE time has gone so slowly today.......

Treats · 06/03/2009 17:07

I'm off for a lip wax tomorrow. Nobody post to say that it's not safe for pregnant women, because I don't want to hear about it . Baby will just have to manage.

MustGetSleep · 06/03/2009 17:15

It is safe, but it might hurt a lot more than usual

MrsPuddleduck · 06/03/2009 17:32

Mustgetsleep - how do they wax the back of your legs when pregnant? I have been concerned about this as I am off on holiday in July and I only have my legs done once a year when I go away.

MustGetSleep · 06/03/2009 17:34

Not a clue I'm afraid - I was about 12 weeks when I had it done, and it was me and DH doing it at home (one holds skin taught, other pulls) so I was stood up

MrsPuddleduck · 06/03/2009 17:41

Perhaps someone else will know.

HumphreysCorner · 06/03/2009 17:50

Only had my legs waxed once and never again-was worse than childbirth.

Have convinced myself I have a water infection. What are the symptoms again?

HC - I wondered if you had a water infection. I am not sure of the symptoms but I bet cramping and frequent weeing are two of them. why don't you phone NHS direct for some advice?

HumphreysCorner · 06/03/2009 18:03

Think I will wait until Monday and ring the Drs unless it gets any worse of course.

littlepea72 · 06/03/2009 18:44

HC do you have any stinging when you pee?? The infection comes from the Kidneys, so you could notice little pains in your lower back also, plus, if it gets really bad sometimes there can be a little bit of bleeding when you pee. It sounds like a mild infection you could have, i used to get them alot with my first pregnancy.

When i used to get my legs waxed when i was pregnant,i was on my back, then one leg raised at a time, its that way or they will do it while you stand up. Sore both ways but well worth it!

HumphreysCorner · 06/03/2009 19:34

Doesn't sting when I wee, my bladder feels full but I struggle to wee anything. I haven't really drank much over the past few weeks due to sickness but am now able to drink soda water. When I look at UTI threads they mention that the MW tests your wee sample with a dipstick and this should show something. The MW tested mine yesterday so must be OK. Hoping to flush my kidneys out with soda water.

Blimey...thread is moving fast! Just managed to catch up, dinner on the go so i just wanted to quickle write a couple of things then i will be back on later!

HC I suffer with cystitus with symptoms like you mention. I drink gallons of cranberry juice and a hot bath/hot water bottle helps me too. Avoid anything citrus. You can get sachets to drink from pharmacy, but im not sure whether you can take them when pg so i would stick with the juice! I hope that helps you out, its such a horrible feeling x

Meek You are so close to me! A day apart in fact! You mention your maternity jeans heehee!! I definitely have a bigger tum. I don't actually own a single maternity piece of clothing as yet, but the last 2 days i have worn my comfy baggy tracksuit bottoms to work! I think its more to do with the amount i am drinking/eating at the moment

7 WEEKS TODAY, HURRAH!

Hattie05 · 06/03/2009 21:15

Ah thank you for sharing all your worries and concerns everyone! I'm reading this thread and going phew glad thats normal, phew glad that is too. Feels rather unkind reading other peoples woes and feeling glad but i'm sure you'll all understand!

I really did feel very nauseus last night, fine all day again today, its just when i get home from work and put my feet up i start the cramps and sickness feeling again. Have taken advice and keep eating! really helps with the sickness, but won't help the figure .

Nice to know others are in maternity trousers already.

I'm only 6 weeks, so sure i don't have baby bump, just bloatedness i think. But would really love to pull out my maternity clothes for work as i'm not fitting into my trousers!! I'm feeling so conscious i'm sure people are going to be noticing a)fat tummy or b) unusual attire covering fat tummy!

roll on 6 more weeks!

spongebrainbigpants · 06/03/2009 21:33

doggus, will be thinking of you on Tuesday, scan buddy x

Hi to everyone else and thank you for all your kind words .

lizzie9442 · 07/03/2009 09:38

Had erpc yesterday and I am now at home relaxing. Just trying to come to terms with the fact that I am no longer pregnant and go through all the ups and downs of hormones returning to normal. Thankyou for all your kind messages. good luck to you all xxxx

Hi Lizzie. Thinking of you. Be sure to take v. good care of yourself and pamper yourself as much as possible.

sponge and doggus -will also be thinking of you on Tuesday.

sammysam - is there any way you can avoid this competitive friend of a friend? That's the last thing you want when PG. I can't bear overly competitive people, life is too short!

Also want to say to all of you going through these horrendous early pregnancy symptoms whilst also looking after small children - my god. You are all total super heroes. it's only me and DH in our house, and I'm struggling to cope with that. I slept 12 hours last night and I'm STILL knackered!

MustGetSleep · 07/03/2009 13:38

I haven't been sick today!!!!
