Diddle - Less than a hour before your weekend starts. Don't forget to pamper yourself. I know what you mean about the lack of adult company. Good to see your grandad is on the mend.

Have amazed myself by cleaning the whole house from top to bottom today, now just need to tackle a mountain of washing and ironing. Of course, this is only because my SIL is coming over this afternoon and the house was in a desperate state.

I have now had 3 days without m/s so am hoping the worst is over. Knowing my luck it will be back the minute I post this message. Have definitely had more m/s this time, i think it's because last time I was working and was distracted from it and didn't have time to feel sorry for myself.

Unfortunately, won't me having a relaxing weekend this week because dh nephew (11yrs) is staying with us tonight and then his niece (14yrs) is staying tomorrow night so will have to postpone the pampering. Shouldn't be too bad they pretty good kids except the niece has started that horrible teenager stage.

Hope everyone else is well and that you all have a lovely restful and relaxing weekend.

CADS · 15/04/2005 15:58

Thanks Hellkat. Hadn't realised I had been away for so long.

JenJam also used the Body shop butter that tex mentioned. Only got one stretchmark on my belly button piercing. Had loads of stretchmarks on hips, bum, thighs and boobs before from excess weight so couldn't tell if they got worse.

ChaCha · 15/04/2005 16:14

Hey Diddle..sorry to hear about your grandad but am glad that he is back at home. My grandparents all passed away years ago - I miss them.
Which area do you live in Diddle if you don't mind my asking?

Everyone's talking about stretch marks!!! When do these start and do you put the oil/lotion on to prevent them? Pls elaborate as i'm not at all clued up.

Enthusia, how are you? Did you read my spooky story message? School is awful, everyone and i mean everyone has the cold!!! They are all coughing and spluttering over me ALL day long. I had bad m/s at work today so am glad to be home, last night was a joke, toilet - bed, bed - toilet and a lovely nosebleed in the morning.

So when do the old bumps start showing then?

Laylasmum · 15/04/2005 16:15

Hi everyone i've not posted for ages but hows everyone. I'm 11 wks 5 days now and got my scan on monday!!! Anyone else had their 12 week one yet? am v apprehensive but have had a sneaky listen to babs heartbeat at work and seemed to be galloping away ok. Anyway will post mon and tell you how i got on!! loads of love Laylasmum xx

ChaCha · 15/04/2005 16:30

Hi Laylasmum
Need an answer.. dates - do you go by last period date or by scan date? My GP is going by last period date yet my scan tells different..i don't understand..

JenJam · 15/04/2005 16:33

hi laylasmum. how do you listen to heartbeat ?? assume you work in a hospital or have you blue peter style made a doppler?

JenJam · 15/04/2005 16:36

laylasmum yes do tell on monday after scan. i've got mine on wednesday, 9am.....seems such a long time away. I'll be 11 wks exactly (i think). I really would like to know now whether its okay as am getting far to into it all (being pregnant, having a baby etc)

HellKat · 15/04/2005 17:03

Diddle- Hope by now you're enjoying R&R! Think I speak for everyone when I say we're so glad you stayed here! Glad we could've been some help and also Alot of us have grown so close would've been like losing a good mate if you'd gone.
Cads- You're very welcome.
Re stretchmarks. Got shed loads of them when pg with ds1 (belly, boobs, bum, thighs etc) but with ds2 did'nt get one. I used that Neroli Metditeranian body butter from Boots. Nice stuff, rubbed in well (bloody pricy though). This time around found yummy smelling stuff (smells like coconut after sun lotion). From Boots, they're own brand of coconut and almond oil moisturiser. (Almond oil is supposed to be wicked for stretchmarks and also almond oil is great, especially if first baby, rubbed on the perineum to prevent tearing). Read that years ago, apparently softens that area. Best check with a mw though first. Don't know if this cream will work on stretchmarks but smells divine and makes my skin as soft as ds2's!

HellKat · 15/04/2005 17:04

P.s Good luck on Monday Layla! We've got our scan too that day.

Laylasmum · 15/04/2005 17:19

ChaCHa- your dates generally worked out from your last period but if when your scanned there is a big difference like more than a week then i think they alter your due date accordingly!!
JenJam- yes i work at a GP surgery so get to have a sneaky listen!!

Laylasmum · 15/04/2005 17:33

Good luck for mon too HK let us know how goes!!!

Diddle · 15/04/2005 17:42

cha cha - I live in Stourbridge in the West Midlands, anyone else near here?

Feel very sleepy now had a lovely long soak in the bath, couldn't finish my book because i started nodding off and nearly dropped it in with me. DH is still working, he works from home too. so i am going to put my feet up for a bit.

Hope you all manage to have a relaxing weekend too, we all deserve it.

Hellkat - thanks for being so nice, you've all been a big support.

Enthusia · 15/04/2005 17:46

ChaCha - Yes did read your message - how spooky is that!!! ~I know children can have a sixth sense but it ir rather weird!!!

School are being brill - bout bloody time!!! My body has also seem to have adapted, I feel great in the mornings, no sickness or anything. Then by lunch I am waning - apparently I go white with big red eyes - and by hometime I am a goner. Have a nap when I get in and then can't really do anything for evening as that is when ms kicks in. Feel sick anf lathargic all the way round to next morning. DH is being brill though and looking after the house when he gets home! He is off this weekend - first one in 6 months - so we want to make the most of it.

Hope your ms isn't too bad over weekend!

JenJam - I was so relieved when I saw my scan - although it was too early to see anything in particular - just to see the heartbeat made me feel more positive that things would be ok and i allowed myself to get a little more excited. I hope this happens with you too.

HellKat · 15/04/2005 17:57

Thankyou Layla. What time is yours? Our's is late (3.45) so will let all know.
Diddle- You don't have to say thankyou hun! We're only doing what comes naturally plus it helps that some of us have been through it too. Glad the soak helped. Can't wait for mine. Only 1/2 hr to go .
I'm in East Midlands here (Kettering, Northants) so not miles and miles from you.

JenJam · 15/04/2005 18:08

HellKat · 15/04/2005 18:27

CADS · 15/04/2005 19:57

Oh, I miss "the getting ready and glammed up feeling" too. Haven't done that for ages. Especially, during summer, when everyone is standing outside the pubs in the sun having a good time.

BEKsmum · 15/04/2005 22:58

cp3 · 16/04/2005 13:30

Hi Everyone. Havnt read all the recent posts but i hope evryone is ok.

I was admitted to Hospital Wednesday evening and had a S&C yesterday. Just got home now. It was the worst thing i have evr been through. There was so much blood, lucily they took me straight from a&e as i made a right mess.Had a scan thursday morning and unbelievably baby still there bit obviouly hadnt groen since i was five weeks and i know my dates were right and was at least nearly 12 weeks so had to have the d&c.

Hospital was great. The chapel do services for lost babies and there is a memorial book. So i named the baby MadeleineDennis as didnt know the sex bout thats what we named them earler.

I have bought a white rose tree called my little pet and i will plant that for my own memorial

We will try again, but not waiting the 4 months recommended by the Docs. The leaflet they gave us said we can start agiain as soon as we are ready.

Anyway, thenkyou all once again you have bben my salvation through all of this.

Im going to copy all of this and post it on my miscarriage thread as i dont have the enrgy to re write it. xxxxxxxxx
