Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Been ages since I checked in - work in open plan office and haven't told them yet! (I think my assistant has guessed though)

I'm now at 8 weeks and have a definite little bump - is this normal? Or am I just getting fat from all the chocolate?

ChaCha · 14/04/2005 16:58

Afternoon all,
Cads, nice to see your message, hope all is well. I can't stand the smell of breath!! It's taking over my life right now, everybody has real stinky breath including DH who is Mr. Colgate himself!!!! Is really hard not to start gagging at work when approached by colleagues.

Have had severe m/s it seems worse in the evenings - LilJ have you a bump already? When do they start? Bumps that is..never thought about that, LOL.

Peepee, i'm sorry about your news, i don't know what happened exactly as i can't find your post!! Just all the messages from others, hugs to you and LexyB..

LilJ · 14/04/2005 17:19

For me it's fish - I can't stand look, smell, anything to do with any fish. So much for getting those precious Omega 3 oils!

Also taking the tube is a real challlenge for my heightened sense of smell - I'm trying to drive everywhere.

HellKat · 14/04/2005 19:01

I've had a teeny bump for ages but does'nt notice that much compared to how big my boobies have got!
How are you Cp3? Any better?

tex111 · 14/04/2005 19:11

Peepee, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I'm very glad that they're going to do some investigation though. From what I've read it seems it's often easier to correct the problem if you're having very early losses like yours. I really hope it's something simple like taking a mini-aspirin every day and we hear about your next pregnancy soon! Best of luck to you. Do stick around and keep us posted.

CP3, rollercoaster is the perfect word for it! So many ups and downs. I really feel for you right now and hope you get some good news. All the best to you.

Xena · 14/04/2005 19:31

It not even 7.30pm and I'm so tired I could fall asleep where I sit is anyone else suffering like this? When I went to the doctors on Monday I saw my midwife and she tried to persude my doc to give me an early scan (twins in the family) she tells me the more agrevated the symptoms and the more pg's you have the more your likely hood of twins anyway arghhhhhh I adore my sisters twins but how would I cope with 5!!! especially as the dd's would only be 3 1/2 and 17mths (a triple buggy with a buggy board on the back??) anyway the doc said no it makes no difference if I find out now or at 12wks.
My dd's really love DS (whos 7) and as DD2 flung her arms round him today I said it wouldn't be so bad to have another sister would it? and he said but Muuummm 3 sisters!!

BEKsmum · 14/04/2005 19:49

Chacha, I recognise the breath thing, never noticed before I got pregnant first time round, now yuck - there is nothing worse.

Better go as my mun & dad are here and I'm supposed to be sorting out ds for bed, he's been a beast this evening and sat on the stairs screaming no at me until I fell about laughing 'cos he was so angry.
I've decided the trying threes are much worse than the terrible two's. Generally he's a really good boy and certainly never behaves badly when we're out, so much so that my brother thinks he the perfect child. But the moment we walk through our front door, satans spawn appears just for me!!!

twinkle1 · 14/04/2005 20:20

Beksmum how strange my Ds &DD also have the weird metamorphosizing properties that allow them to turn into satan spawn!!!!!

Diddle · 15/04/2005 02:32

could life get any worse. Have now been awake for 20 hours, far too long. My grandad was rushed to hospital ths evening and has just been admitted. i ahve been there for 5 hours. sitting in a very emotional A&E which was hell for me as this where we were told we had lost our first baby. Then found out the main doors which i had parked by were lockd and i had to walk a very long way round via the EPU and maternity ward. i am being haunted. Had a hell of the day, kids being veyr naughty all day. i just want to sleep, got my first child arriving tomorrow, or should i say today at 7.15. i'm buggered. Definitly booking the holiday tomorrow. sorry to waffle on, just feel rather c**p.
I'm sure you all went to bed hour ago. ive even missed footballer wives.

CADS · 15/04/2005 08:14

Oh Diddle, you poor thing. Life is definitely being unfair to you at the moment. I hope things change soon. Go on book that holiday. Hope your grandad gets well soon. Hang in there things will get better.

CP3, Peepee and LexyB - Thinking of you.

HellKat · 15/04/2005 08:43

Diddle- Sorry to hear hun. Poor thing. You're having a shitty time of it. Well, it can only get better.
Did'nt say before but great to see you back cads!

BEKsmum · 15/04/2005 10:02

Oh Diddle poor you, you really are having a rough time of it at the moment. I hope your grandad is on the mend soon.

Can you be a bit lax today and put the kids in front of dvd's and the pc all day. I know the parents wouldn't be too impressed but sometimes you just need to do what you have to do. You could have made the parents lives difficult by calling them this morning and saying you couldn't have the kids, so just do what you have to do to get through today and don't worry about it.

Thinking of you and go get that holiday booked.

BEKsmum · 15/04/2005 10:05

Twinkle do you think the spawn of satan genes are hereditary, do you reckon it's us or the dad's that pass on this lovely character trait

Diddle · 15/04/2005 10:09

beksmum, yes could put a dvd on, but they don't sit still for long, wish they did, little treasures. Have had a call this morning to say Grandad is being sent home to be looked after, so it just makes me wonder if it was worth me being up half the night. going to sit down now and try and keep the little ones quiet. Think it will be an early night for me tonight.

HellKat · 15/04/2005 10:21

Why not have a soak tonight (with aromatherapy oils) and then grab an early one Diddle? Hold on, that sounds too good lol. Think I'll be doing that to.

Diddle · 15/04/2005 10:26

Hellkat - feel relaxed just thinking about it, might just do that. I'm reading Lovely Bone at the moment so it will be a good excuse to finsh it. i can't put it down its really good.

BEKsmum · 15/04/2005 10:27

Diddle good news that he's coming out but very frustrating for you! How old is he?

Looks like it's an arts and crafts or playdough sort of day for you then in the hope of keeping the little darlings in one place for more than five minutes.

Good suggestion Hellkat, one which will probably be taken up by most of us!

HellKat · 15/04/2005 10:35

p.s Glad to hear he's over the worst Diddle.
Yep definitely soak for me tonight

yingers74 · 15/04/2005 12:38

peepee, sorry to hear about your news and I hope that the investigation gives you some insight.

Diddle - glad to hear your grandpa is home. I found lovely bones quite disturbing, but it was a good book.

jenjam, there is some aussie oil mixture which is suppose to be good for stretch marks, it is always advertised in pregnancy mags. Saying that though, I used allsorts of potions and lotions and it did not stop me getting tonnes of stretch marks with my dd!!!!!!!!!!! They say it is down to luck, my mum had none but then she was not carrying excess weight before pregnancy unlike me!

Diddle · 15/04/2005 12:59

Beksmum - thank you, he's 83, was in quite good health, he's been in worse conditions. He managed to fight through the MRSA bug last year which brought him to his lowest. Bless him, hes a lovely grandad, was so grateful for me staying with him. That makes it worht while reall, and i've started waking up now. Early finish today too, normally work 7.15 until 6.30, but all my little charges will be gone by 4.30. hurray, long long bath coming, have had the water heater on all day just to amke sure i have enough water.

JenJam · 15/04/2005 14:08

yingers thanks for replying. where did you get the stretch marks? on your belly or more pelvis hips? is the stuff you are talking about called bio oil?

JenJam · 15/04/2005 14:13

Pee pee i was sad to hear your news - how are you feeling now?

BEKsmum · 15/04/2005 15:00

Diddle, glad to hear you're getting an early afternoon. Wow your grandad has got to be a tough customer to have fought MRSA. We've had a bit of week with it with my grandad too, he' 89 and he managed to fall over twice on Thursday, once in the street & once at home but he's a bit of a sod as he plays for the sympathy vote as did my nan when she was a live, so although the falls were accidental he took himself off to bed feeling sorry for himself and bemoaned the fact that no one cares, even though he saw his three kids that same day and sees me & my brother as often as we can get to see him. Love him to bits but he also drives me to distraction.

Jenjam sorry with Peepee's sad news your question got a bit overlooked, one good body lotion to use is Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula which smells lovely, just like cake - yum. Don't buy the one specifically for stretch marks though as it smelss horrible and isn't as nice to rub into your skin.

Better go and pick ds up from pre-school, hopefully I'll get there and back without getting soaked like I did at lunch time - why does it rain during the school run?!

Have a good afternoon, I'm off to my aunt & uncles this evening to tell them the good news especially as the baby is due on my aunt's birthday and we are really close. Bet I pop before my due date though!

Diddle · 15/04/2005 15:39

beksmum- he is a toughy. must visit him tomorrow, make sure he's improving and they haven't just chucked him out of the hospital because they need the bed.

and you're right it does always rain ont he school run, its a nightmare, esp when i've got 6 kids to try and get to the car.

one child left hurray.

how is everyone feeling, have you all had a good week, is the m/s improving?
I really don't want to leave this thread. everyone is so nice, and being stuck in the house all day i don't get much adult company.
You guys have kept me going, thank you.

tex111 · 15/04/2005 15:48

Diddle, my goodness you are going through a rough time. I'm glad you've got an early afternoon and a restful evening planned. Take care of yourself.

JenJam, with DS I used Body Shop Body Butter in Shea Butter and it was great, smelled yummy and didn't make me feel sick. I put it all over my belly and didn't get any stretchmarks there but neglected to put it anywhere else and got stretchmarks on my hips and breasts. Yuck. This time I'm absolutely covering myself in Clarins Tonic Oil. It was recommended by a friend so we'll see how it works.

BEKsmum, my new favourite word is 'threenager'. DS will be three in July and he's already showing signs of threenager-ness. Apparently it's supposed to be worse than terrible twos, it's all about attitude and getting their own way. Oh joy.

Still in my jammies here. Made it out to Bluewater yesterday and I think I'm paying for the trip out now. Terrible nausea all day. We're going to see Thomas the Tank Engine tomorrow down in Kent. I think DS will love it but I'm sure I'll pay for it on Sunday. Oh well, will have to spend the day in bed being waited on hand and foot.
