Hiya all.
Welcome back Rodeo!! We missed you! Hope you had a terrific birthday.
Jen- sorry to hear about your worries. Try to think positively.
Pretty sure my af came Monday. Yep I know. Quick or what? So hopefully not too long from now will be bfp!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Diddle · 04/05/2005 07:11

rodeo - glad you have been reassured. i'm ok thanks, no sign of AF yet, i'm fed up of waiting. so impatient.

BEKsmum · 04/05/2005 09:16

Yikes Rodeo, I'm sure everything will be fine and like the girls say bub is still hiding in your pelvis, they like to stress us out as much as possible don't they.
Please don't worry too much if you can help it and May 16th really isn't that far off. Keeping everything crossed for you.

HK wouldn't normally wish af on anyone but glad it's here for you, have fun dragging your dh into bed next week. Just wish I had the energy!

Jenjam thanks for that I will try coughing and I'm going to have a can of something fizzy before I go this time!
By the way being marked down as a trouble maker is no bad thing at least they know you care. My hv hates me as I reported the clinic to the local papers for messing up my ds's MMR , so they are going to love seeing me back especially as there is no way on earth the clinic will be doing anything but weighing this one!

How do you change the list girls as my due date has moved to the 13th November now, although with my high blood pressure it will probably be coming a lot sooner than that - eek!

Better go as ds is whinging - nothing new there then, speak to you all later.

rodeo1 · 04/05/2005 10:00

Thanks girls,

Knew I could rely on you all. Just feeling very paranoid, I seem to get worse with each pg! No, it's not very long to wait, only 12 days and about 6 hours!!

HK - Glad your AF has come (what does that stand for anyway?), Im sure yours is just around the corner too Diddle!

Rodeo from the acronym list it stands for Auntie Flo i.e. period, I've never heard it called that either!

ChaCha · 04/05/2005 10:51

Morning everyone, hope you're all well.

Feeling a lot better, still have the nausea and a little m/s but it's not as severe, I'm just over 10 weeks so am hoping its subsiding rather than 'Oh my gosh, what's wrong' syndrome that is typical of me.

Rodeo, not long to go, I am counting the days till first week of June when i see the m/w!!! The days will fly by - you'll see

HK - wishing you all the best and hope you get your BFP right away.

Enthusia - everything okay?

and good morning to everyone else

JenJam · 04/05/2005 12:18

Beksmum...is a latte / coffee just a bit too evil?

KristinaM · 04/05/2005 13:49

cha cha - I dont want to be a kill joy here but I dont know if you'll find the first MW appointmnet very exciting. Is it like a booking appointment at the hospital? if so they are very long ( about 2 hours) and VERY boring. You dont get to do anything fun like hear your baby's heartbeat or see them on the scan. They take blood and give you a LONG explanation of what they are testing for, take your Bp, weigh you, test your urine sample and fill in a very long questionnnaire about your medical history. You may get the breast feeding sermon ( sorry for the cynicism here girls). They will probably sign you up for antenatal classes ( no comment). You will get a HUGE pack of junk leaflets from companies trying to sell you stuff. If you are lucky you will get a little jar of sudocrem which is about the only useful thing IMHO!!!

One good thing is that you dont have to take any clothes off and no one examines you. You would think I would be past caring about this now but I'm not . Later on they will measure your bump at antenatal appointments and feel your tummy but its too early yet

Goodness knows how they can make this take so long but it does. Last time i had a MW who was typing everything painfully slowly into an ancient Pc with one finger and it kept crashing.

There is a lot of sitting about. Take plenty food and drink and a magazine.Think of it as a free morning off work

Hope I have remembered everything correctly

ChaCha · 04/05/2005 14:04

Hi Kristina and thanks for all the info

It's quite strange as i had my booking appointment last week but it wasn't a booking appt as such - I mean, i didn't meet the m/w!!
My GP (and a lovely lady she is too) filled in a load of forms and gave me the hefty medical file that i've to take to al future appt's, she also took a urine sample, said it was fine but would send it off to check for infections. About an hour later i left and she told me i'd see the midwife during another appt which is the 6th of June if i remember correctly - i should be around 15 weeks! So i guess she'll do anything that the GP left right??
I am looking forward to 12 week private scan though
Anyhow, how are you Kristina? What about you?

Diddle and Xena (or is it Jenjam) I'm thinking of leaving teaching altogether and registering to childmind with the hope of going on to running a little nursery...am needing advise.

Diddle · 04/05/2005 14:07

chacha, here for advice if you need it or you can cat me if you would rather. Or start a thread in the childminding section

LilJ · 04/05/2005 14:09

Wow! I just had my date scan and it was amazing. First time it felt real. All seems to be fine (two tiny arms & legs flailing about and a beating heart), and I'm a tiny bit further along than I first thought - 11 weeks, 2 days now. Having NT scan next week, wasn't sure about getting one, but decided in the end it wouldn't do any harm (being that I'll be 37 before baby arrives).

V. excited now and have been showing everyone (even complete strangers) the scan pic!

SharonTW1 · 04/05/2005 14:22

Hello everyone, sorry not been on for a while, feel off work full of cold and haven't got access at home yet.
So sorry to hear all the bad news really shocked me, don't know what else to say.
Worrying quiet a bit myself, got my scan date for 19th May and should be nearly 13 weeks then, still feeling c#*p though so probably fine, lost 8 pounds can't bear much food or anything, living off milkshakes and oranges at the mo.
Emotions running so high and just shouted at the taste panel i run, staying out of the way now.
Hope everyone's ok and think the idea of a few more details about everyone is nice.
Love to you all and take care xx

SharonTW1 · 04/05/2005 14:24

LilJ - bless you, I can't wait for my scan.
We're nearly the same stage , I'll be 11 weeks on Sat x and 31 when baby comes, is this your first ?

LilJ · 04/05/2005 14:38

Yes first baby so everything is very new. Have had a pretty easy time of it so far with only a bit of nausea and complete exhaustion. Suffering from cold as well, but so excited don't really mind stuffy nose.

ChaCha · 04/05/2005 15:24

Thanks Diddle, just posted there, never even know there was such a section... duh

Hi Sharon and LilJ

SharonTW1 · 04/05/2005 15:29

Hello again, yes I've been lucky too , no sickness yet just feeling it all the time.

LilJ · 04/05/2005 15:53

I'm definitely showing now, so gave in and told everyone in the office so I could stop sucking in my tummy every time I stood up. Also the receptionist asked me if I was pregnant which indicated that I wasn't hiding it at all well. Can't wait to feel the baby move, but really not looking forward to maternity clothes after a quick look in Mothercare (I'll be shopping at Formes I think).

KristinaM · 04/05/2005 16:22

Hi Sharon and Lil

Great news about your scan Lil - its amazing isn't it? If you get a scan around 20 weeks this is defo the one to take your DH/DP (if you have one) to. You can see LOADS of detail - my Dh got all emotional and said he felt connected to the baby for the first time. He is a scientist so normally very...well...rational!!! He is VERY supportive and does LOADS around the house and with the kids when i am pregnant but he doenst really "get" the emotional bit of pregnancy. Do you know what i mean?

I'm 11 weeks today and have had 2 scans so far (lucky me) . I'm nervously awaiting some test results ( should get them tomorrow) so cant really think about anything else right now except "is the baby Ok?".

Feel guilty as its our son's first birthday today - we are not doing a big party thing as we had a HUGE family thing for his christening and I feel terrible and couldn't really face having lots of people round.Combination of worry, nausea and exhaustion. So we are just having the immediate family and cakes, balloons, presents. Hope he wont look back at the photos/video and think what miserable parenst he has......

KristinaM · 04/05/2005 16:25

oh isnt the mothercare preg stuff HORRIBLE?? I am really really old and even i think its sad. H&M is better also Next IMHO. Formes stuff looks lovely - expensive but worth it if you have to look smart for work. I am a scruffy SAHM so dont care........

SharonTW1 · 04/05/2005 16:39

Next has some lovely things in and Verbateum ?? know I've spelt it wrong !
Getting a little tummy but not showing yet, sure I'll make up for it though.
Going home now, have a good night !

JenJam · 04/05/2005 17:08

just did a search on the place that you mention..can you try to spell it again...verbatim? or and verbatim?

BEKsmum · 04/05/2005 17:17

Jenjam you sound like my kind of girl, a latte will be fine and if the little bugger is a sleep I'll be off for a quick espresso! Now that really would be evil!!!

Did my booking in yesterday and you're quite right Kristina, it is very dull and boring, but done now thankfully. The only surprise I got was that the 20 week scan has moved to 23 weeks which is a bit disappointing, longer to wait.

Hope your son has a lovely birthday I think family parties at one are the norm aren't they? Although we did have our post natal group and a couple of friends to ours.

Hope the test results you're waiting for aren't for anything serious, I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news for you anyway.

Lol at you lot and the horrible maternity clothes at least you can fit in them, they don't think anyone over a size 18 can get pregnant and they certainly don't make anything bigger than a 20, needless to say I'm bigger than this already so have the choice of Evans elasticated or my pj's!!!

Does anyone want a three year old? I'll give him away with all the accessories if anyones interested as he is completely and utterly doing my head in and I've had enough. I've cried so many times today I've run out of tissue and I don't know what to do with him. He has been my world for the last three years and now he has turned into a horrible brat and I'm gutted, thankfully it's only aimed at me and dh and he's as good as gold when we are out so most peeople think I'm a nutter and that my son is an angel - so no cash necessary, buyer collects!!! Sorry that must sound terrible but I needed to get it off my chest.

Hope everyone else is well, has anyone heard from Tex? Are you out there? How's your dh?

BEKsmum · 04/05/2005 17:18

Jenjam think Sharon means Vertbaudet

Enthusia · 04/05/2005 17:25

Hiya all,

Cor we will have to start yet another thread soon!!!!!!!

ChaCha - How strange, I was in the middle of setting up my own childminding/nursery business looking after children with Aspergers when I was offered the job in Thailand. Didn't think I could turn down the offer, so the day after I got the all-clear from OFSTED to go ahead I had to tell them that I would actually be leaving the country . Have thought a little about it since I have been back but I had to get a job so that I could get a mortgage, now I am not sure if I have the energy. I am looking into working with SEN children when I return to wotk!!!!

I am feeling really sicky at the mo. The horrible evening sickness has now returned all day, but unlike last time, I now retch but nothing comes up!!!! Anyone else feeling rougher since they hit 12 weeks, I thought it was all meant to be getting better now. I have also had splitting headaches.

Also has anyone else been having stitch-like pains in their abdomen when they move. The pains are not really intense and don't last very long, it is usually just when I straighten up after crouching down, or when I first get out of bed in the morning, as soon as I massage the area they go away. They feel very muscular, anything to worry about?

I am now in maternity wear!!!!! This came around after I got sick of having to always be aware of my fly zips as all my trousers still fit round my waist but my tummy forces the zips down - very embarrasing in a class of 8 year olds. The maternity clothes are a little large, but ssssoooooo comfy!!!!! I have definitly got a bump. The top is soft (too much food) but the bottom is quite firm!!! I found Mothercare's black trousers ok, and the simple black and white long sleeve tops, but other than that I got the rest of mine from Dorothy Perkins, they don't have much of a range but what there is is quite nice!!!!

Congrats to people who had scans - they are amazing aren't they!!!!!!

I havr my second midwife appointment on Tuesday, any idea what they will do? I will be 13+4 weeks, and have already been booked in, so not sure what this one will be for!
