Ooh, one for you too Enthusia Well done!!

So after seeing your baba's on the screen, doe's anyone have any hunches if they were boy's or girls? Or to all who haven't had scan's yet, do you have any inklings (or any preferences!!)?

Thanks guys.
I know that in some cases bleeding is OK and I am clinging to straws of hope, but... I also think it is best to be prepared for the worst.
Thank yopu for you well wishes!
I will keep you posted.

Will go and get major cuddles from my DH. Needed!
Love,
dangirl

tex and enthus - glad the scans went well, am still counting down the days for mine, i will be about 14/15 weeks by then. A friend said i should call and if i cry they will move me up! Not much of an actress so will give that idea a miss!

dangirl - sorry to hear your news. Am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Take care and hope dh is giving you lots of cuddles and kisses.

won't be on-line much over the next few days as dh has to take his laptop into work, what a nerve, don't they realise I have work to do too

BEKsmum · 27/04/2005 22:46

Ahh Tex sweetheart I'm really pleased for you, glad tupi got to see bub & glad the advice was sound! Your ds sounds adorable and very well behaved. Glad to hear you dh is getting out tomorrow, hope you have a nice evening tucked up in bed resting together!

Dangirl what can I say, I'm keeping everything crossed for you, take things easy and let us know how you are we're all here for you if you need us. Sending hugs to you both.

BusyA ds turned 3 in March so is old enough to know better, he went to bed in a sulk with me tonight because I've been so horrible to him today - bad mummy!

Rodeo, I was convinced my ds was a dd right up to the moment he appeared so have no idea really. Everyone reckons this one will be a girl and the pyshic I go to has been telling me that my daughter has been waiting to be conceived since ds was 3mths old and the last time I went to see the lady she told me my child was telling me to get a move on, so if it is a girl it sounds she's going to be an opinionated little madam just like her mother and brother

When thinking of having children my ideal would have been a boy then a girl but now I don't give a monkeys as long as it's healthy & all in one piece.

Got to go as dh wants his pc back. Speak to you all tomorrow.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
That's for all the kind words, hugs etc from everyone. Thankyou so much! It really does mean alot.
Enthusia- Fantastic news about your scan! My ds2 was like that! Using my bladder as a trampoline!
CP3- Thankyou. Glad to hear you're doing well too! I'm already on the ttc thread (thinking about joining the ttc after mc too).
Dangirl- Oh hunny. I'm sending the very best of luck for you today. Please let us know. We'll be thinking of you. Either way, no matter what happens we're here.
Thomcat- How are you? Please try and harrass that hospital for an earlier appointment. That's bloody insensitive of them to leave you waiting. Again, either way, we're here for you.

I'm feeling bit better. Felt very quiet yesterday and reflective. Dp's been going mad at me because I won't sit still but can't help it . I've realised though that I can't carry ds2 upstairs anymore. My tum ached afterwards but then again, he is a little lump! So resting up today (knowing me will only be for 5 mins before I find something else to do). Good news is, loss is easing already! Which means I should have af pretty soon (had first af after ds2 within 2 weeks of having him!).
Take care all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

tex111 · 28/04/2005 09:41

Dangirl, I can understand why you're frightened. I'm so glad you're going to get a scan and get everything checked out. Do let us know how you're doing. I know we'll all be thinking about you.

tex111 · 28/04/2005 09:49

Jenjam, they didn't take blood yesterday but I'll have the AFP tests at 16 weeks to double check. I know those blood tests can be questionable but I like to have as much info as possible. Yesterday they did check for a nasal bone because 70% of Downs babies don't have a nasal bone at this stage. I didn't know that, but it all figured into our odds. They said we have about a 1 in 3000 chance of having a baby with Downs Syndrome and asked if I wanted an amnio or CVS since I'm an 'older mother' (34). I said that we were happy with those numbers and it wouldn't be necessary.

As for boy/girl, they wouldn't even guess at the scan yesterday so I asked them to just let me have a look at the baby's genitals. I have to say, they didn't look the same as DS's at that stage! DS's NT scan was with a super duper ultrasound machine in Tokyo and it was transvaginal. Yesterday's was on my tummy, which surprised me, so they resolution could just make things look differently but we're preparing ourselves for a little girl!! I'll ask again at the 20 week scan to make sure but I am getting girl vibes. I've been trying to prepare DS for the possibility of a sister as he insists he's going to have a 'brudder'. Even told the docs yesterday that it was definitely a boy!

I'm keepin a pregnancy journal online and you guys are welcome to take a look if you're interested. It's here .

OK, going to get the house in order before DH comes home today. Hope you're all doing well. HK hope you're mending well.

tex111 · 28/04/2005 09:54

Oops, got my link wrong. The pregnancy journal is here .

Xena · 28/04/2005 11:06

Oh Dan girl my thoughts are with you xxx

Last night DD2 was rushed to the hospital with breathing troubles she has been poorly with a high temperature for days, but yesterday afternoon her breathing became really strained. So I took her to my G.P. who said she was just bunged up. But then at about 8pm last night she was struggling for breath so we took her to hospital where they x-rayed her and told us she had a severe chest infection and needed antibiotics. They let us home after she had the first dose although they said that if she didn't responded to the calpol then she would have to be admitted to have them intervenasly (sp?). Now after 3 doses she seems much better, and now I am cross with G.P. for not spotting something more serious. I have an app with him this p.m. I don't know whether to say anything?

dangirl · 28/04/2005 11:57

Just been to see GP. I will have to go to A&E at Hammersmith for scan as EPU shut for today.
Not optimistic.
Will keep you informed.
Dangirl

HellKat · 28/04/2005 15:32

Good luck Dan! Thinking of you. x
Xena- Love and best wishes to your little one.

Xena · 28/04/2005 16:57

Thanks HK
But now its me heavy mucas and blood, discharge and cramps have to go to epac in the morning

ChaCha · 28/04/2005 17:14

Dangirl - chin up. Just keep hoping. My friend just told me bled heavily in early pregnancy and has gone on to have a gorgsous little girl.

Xena - I don't understand. What's happening?

ChaCha · 28/04/2005 17:17

Lots of typing errors, very tired.
Saw GP today for booking appt not midwife too as was told before. Was asked lots of questions and given hefty file with all notes in etc.. Have been told next scan is at 20 weeks!!!! Am therefore booking private one at 12 - they must have done this as they know i've already had two!
A few questions, she took a urine sample and did some kind of test there and then, said everything was fine but would now send it to lab for check of infections etc.. what exactly did she test for there? She dipped paper in it i think, like ph level paper or something.

Is that it now? Everyone just has to go on waiting? How would you know if the baby died until the next scan? Sorry being really sad here. I'm exhausted and don't want to wait another (what will be 4 weeks) to see scan pic again...ohhhh

Diddle · 28/04/2005 18:44

Sounds like a rough day for you all today.

Tex - glad your scan went well and hope that your DH is recovering well.

Dangirl - i am so sorry to hear what you are going through, but you never know it could just be nothing, I look after 2 children and their mom bled a lot through her pregnancies and they're here now. We're all here if you want us.

Xena - What is going on with the world, as i said above to Dangirl, you never know it could just be nothing. If you're anything like me though you'll be preparing yourself for the worst just in case. Hope you get on ok tomorrow, and they can tell you something about your condition.
I hope your DD2 is okay too, you must be going through hell.

I feel so sad for you all life is not bloody fair!!!!!

HK - Keep those feet up matey

Had a very hectic day here. kids everywhere, they've worn me out. I'll be glad of the bank holiday weekend.

Xena · 28/04/2005 19:06

i was just sitting at the table talking on the phone to MIL about DD2 and was suddenly aware of lots of fluid below. Had a house full of chilminded children so thankfully my sister came to the rescue and arrived to take over. Spoke to the midwife on the phone and she said to rest and she will refer me to EPAC for tomorrow and I should be seen in the morning. I can't work out if I have any symptoms left because I feel so shattered from last night.

cp3 · 28/04/2005 19:21

xena & dangirl, this is truley horrible, i cant believe how many of us have gone through this this month. My thoughts are with you. Take care xxxx

Diddle · 28/04/2005 20:10

Dangirl - how did you get on? is everything ok.

very quiet thread today

dangirl · 28/04/2005 21:40

Hi girls,

Spent 5 hrs in A&E. I have had a missed miscarriage. The fetus died at ca 7 1/2 weeks. Had long talk to Dr re having D&C or waiting to see if it will come out on it's own now that I have started bleeding.
I have decided to wait as the thought of D&C just doesn't appeal to me.
I was due to go to Denmark tomorrow to start new job on Monday. Drs won't let me travel for another week, so my plans have changed a bit. Will have to call work tomorrow to let them know.
I am of course really upset! I am begining to come to terms with the miscarriage, I just wish that it was all over and that I didn't have to wait like this...
Sorry for the bad news

Xena, I am soo sorry to hear your news. I hope that you will be one of the cases with a happy outcome!! Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

With love,
Dangirl

ChaCha · 28/04/2005 21:51

Dangirl, I'm so sorry, I wish i knew what to say. Please get some rest - is your DP/DH around with you? I hope so. I'm thinking of you and although i'm not that good with words always here..sending you massive, massive hugs ((HUG))

Xena, thinking of you tomorrow. Hopefully your sister or partner/husband will be going with you too. Big Hugs xx

BEKsmum · 28/04/2005 22:24

Dangirl, I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say other than what the others have said before and what I said to the others. I'm so gutted for you, please take care of yourself and don't disappear from here if you can bear it, we're all here for you and the others that have been through the same thing will be a great support to you if you'll let them. Take care of yourself sending you {{{{hugs}}}}

BEKsmum · 28/04/2005 22:29

Xena, god what is going on you must be going through hell. I'm sorry to hear that you are in such a bad way, I'm keeping everything crossed that I can possibly cross for you for tomorrow, i hope it's just your body's way of reacting to the stress from your night with DD2.

Hope your daughter is feeling better tonight and that you can get some rest, sending you both {{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}} Let us know how you get on tomorrow we'll all be here for you no matter what.

BEKsmum · 28/04/2005 22:36

Chacha, sorry with the girls news your question got a bit overlooked. The urine test is to check for Glucose, which is an indication of diabetes, Protein which can indicate kidney or bladder infections of later on pre-eclamsia and Ketones to see if your metabolic system is upset because of not eating enough or being sick.

I know it seems tough to have to wait but you normally only get to see bub twice, once at 12 weeks and once at 20 weeks but you'll get regular midwife appoitments from now on and they will listen to the baby's heart beat and you should get to hear this too so you'll know everything is all right each time.

Try not to worry, you are doing great and you've seen baby moving about so just look after yourself and it and everything should be fine.

Not being a smartarse here I've got my Dorling Kindersley Pregnancy Questions & Answers book in front of me.

Take care and I'll speak to you and everyone else tomorrow as dh is waiting to get back to his game.

ChaCha · 29/04/2005 00:03

Beksmum Thanks for all that info I really didn't know that all this is the norm, feel much better now.

Am sat up in bed unable to sleep. I think the 3 hour sleep i had on return home is the reason why, maybe all the stodgy food that i've been eating lately too. Have terrible trapped wind sorry for TMI, it's terrible, DH is going to move out i'm sure All grace is out the window.

Night everyone, love to you all and thinking of everyone xx
