KristinaM · 27/04/2005 10:15

Rodeo - so sorry to hear about yourboss's Dh. Its good of you to help out with extra shifts, especially when you are so tired. If you don't knwo what to say ( which I wouldn't either) practcal support is always good.

Chacha - know what you mean about the clothes not fitting anymore. I have lost weight because of the Ms but still have a definitely pregnant bump. Cant believe no one has guessed yet. I think the fact that I am still Bf DS has put some people off the scent!

We are trying to keep it quiet til 14 weeks. Also my sister gets married in 2 weeks so dont want to tell before then.

KristinaM · 27/04/2005 10:20

Forgot to say good luck CP3. Its not too soon if you feel up to it. I didnt wait after a Mc at 6 weeks and conceived again straight away. I know the drs say to wait for a month so they can get an accurate date but you will probably get an early scan anyway so that should do. Besides, I dont really see why they are so obsessed about dates anyway! I think they calculate it differently in other countries eg France and Australia so go figure??????????

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 10:22

oh Rodeo..my cousin passed away last year after a struggle with cancer, she left two gorgeous little girls behind. It's such a shock to the system esp when the person is young and it's close to home. She'll be glad of your support Rodeo, even someone to talk to will help i'm sure. It's the nature of life isn't it..i'll try not to get too philosophical at this early hour, shall leave you with a hug x

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 10:23

Hi Kristina, how many weeks are you?

Diddle · 27/04/2005 10:55

rodeo - all you can do is be a support to her at this terrible time. I wouldn't have a clue what to say either, he's so young, they must be gutted.

BEKsmum · 27/04/2005 11:27

Morning all

HK hugs to you sweetheat, glad everything went as well as could be expected yesterday and that you felt like coming back to chat to us lot today.

CP3 good for you I'm glad you feel ready to try again and to be honest there's nothing more fun to do with your husband when you've got a spare five minutes is there. I'll keep everything crossed for you that you get what you want quickly but remember to have fun trying too.

Rodeo, hope you have a great weekend, you'll love having some time to yourself I bet and make sure you limit yourself to only a couple of calls a day as I'm sure your hubby is more than capable of looking after your brood. Anyway it will do him good to miss you and to realise how hard you work.

Sorry to hear about your bosses husband, how awful and he is so young. Like the others I don't know what you can say to her but just being there for her to pour her heart out to will help and obviously covering her shifts will help in a practical sense too but just make sure you don't put yourself under too much pressure, you've got to look after your precious bundle first.

BEKsmum · 27/04/2005 11:33

Girls advice please

As you know I potty trained my ds in the 2nd week of the Easter Holidays and he hs been doing btrilliantly, getting both wee's and poos in the toilet.

Now however he has started to poo his pants most days especially if he has a friend to play or if he is at Nursery or distracted in any way. Any suggestions for how to stop this. I know that bowel control takes longer but to be honest I'm sure he knows he's doing it and just can't be bothered to stop what he's doing.

I've tried being nice about it and now because I'm sure it is deliberate I've tried telling him off and telling him that he won't be able to go to Nursery, drama or Microsports because they won't have him in the class if he poos himself but he just doesn't seem to give a toss.

I'm so stressed out by it that it's reduced me to tears today and I just need some sane suggestions as to honest keeping him home from Nursery would be more of a punishment for me that it would for him. Any suggestions welcome.

Enthusia · 27/04/2005 11:34

Hiya all,

Just been for my scan. Woke up in tears this morning worrying I would get there to be told our baby had died, so when I got into the scan room and the first thing I saw was an arm waving at me I nearly cried.

Baby is fine, all tests are good news. Baby was moving around heaps, sucking thumb, kicking, waving and bouncing I felt so proud, so did DH.

I feel so relieved now and that I am more out of the woods and on the road to happier pg. My spirits are very high now and I can finally see the wood for the trees. This is a great feeling, not long ChaCha and the rest of you until you hit your 12 week mark, if you haven't already!!!

ChaCha, I only took the anti-sickness pills for a few days constsntly then went to taking them every now and then when I needed them. The sickness did wear off after a while, but I still feel sick all evening and am having trouble sleeping due to windy cramps, but seeing bubs has made that worth it!!!

Sorry to hear your bosses news Rodeo, you sound like a great friend and I hope your support can comfort her a little.

Hellkat, I am glad you have the worst part of the physical process over with, here's to a sunny future.

I have rest of day off now, so am going to enjoy it with my DH and parents. Really feel I need this.

Have a great day everyone!!!!!!

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 11:49

Enthusia :O
Whopppeeeeeee Doooooooo! Awww...wow! What super news! You must be so excited! What was it like, tell me more!!! Could you see bubs really clearly? What was it like...??? Oh oh oh!!!!
You have a great day with your family, the sun is shining for ya xxx

BEKsmum · 27/04/2005 12:02

Ahhhh, congratulations Enthusia glad everything went well, it's the most amazing thing to see your first child inside you, you'll never forget today. Hope you have a lovely day with your dh and parents and here's to the next 30 odd weekss now you know all is well.

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 12:44

Hellkat ...glad you're feeling good, optimistic, positive since d&c. anyway will have proper read through later.

Diddle · 27/04/2005 14:08

Enthusia - I'm very pleased that your scan went so well, i'm sure it gives you all a boost to see that everything is going well. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day.

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 14:13

Hi Diddle, where've you been and how are you?

What are you guys drinking these days? Nothing entices me to drink, water is now synonymous with being sick, don't drink tea or coffee except half a cup in morning and fruit juice makes me puke..any suggestions?

Xena · 27/04/2005 14:33

Cha cha about the only thing that doesn't make me feel any worse if Sparkling water but would agree that the amount I drink has gone done as well. I had a terrible headache last night due to dehydration. I was drinking Diet Coke Caffenine Free but that is making me feel ill now as well.
Enthusia you enthusiam has made me exicted now about my scan glad it went well, hopefully my GP will get his act together and request one for me.

Diddle · 27/04/2005 16:09

hi cha cha - i've been working my socks off. Actually i haven't, I seem to have no enthusiasm to do anything at the moment. I am eating as though i was still pregnant so i'm looking into joinging the gym, but our local one you have to visit them before they will tell you the cost, can't get the willpower up to go.

I drank sparkling water when i was pregnant, and flavoured water, as i got very fed up of water all the time. i also had a lot of hot milk, because i missed my hot drinks. I still haven't gone back to tea and coffee even now. Just don't fancy them anymore.

What about squash?
I'm busy waiting for AF and wondering if every twinge i have is the start of it. But there's no sign yet. I bet i feel like crap as soon as it comes.

How are you feeling? how far along are you now?

busyalexsmummy · 27/04/2005 16:20

enthusia- excellant news about the scan,
hopefully you can relax a little more now after seeing
little one is ok x

Beksmum-re Ds pooing pants, firstly how old is ds?
have you tried a reward chart? ie everytime he goes for
a poo in the potty he gets a star/sticker etc then after
say 7 stars he gets a reward such as something you would
consider a treat ie Mc donalds/a new toy/a trip somewhere.
I cant really offer much advice, let us know how old he is
(you probably said at some point but i didnt notice!)and i'll
ask around friends as somebody is bound to have had the
same problem! keep smiling :-)

Hellcat-keep smiling, be strong, (((((hugs))))) xx

Thomcat- Have you tried asking your dr for an appt at epu/epac?
if you dont think your dr will reffer you just ring the hopital directly
and ask for the number, they should be able to see you more rapidly
than 2 weeks and they could test your HcG levels like they did with me
they take a sample of bloods, get you back 3 days later and test again
reason being is HcG roughly doubles every 3 days in early pg so they can
see wether your levels have gone up and at the expected rate.

Not been up to much, still feeling pretty lethargic! I wont mention decreasing
ms as i did the other day and it came back stronger! Took ds swimming yesterday
with his little friend abbie, he hates swimming and kept throwing his arms around
abbie all day!! she didnt look impressed but they kept laughing at each other which
was amusing! Seemingly I wont be having an appt with the m/w till 24th may, and
wont be scanned till end of may, by the time I see m/w I will be about 16 weeks??
dissapointing as I heard ds heartbeat at 10 weeks, but at booking in appt she didnt
even try to find it, she said it was too early(even though it was same m/w with ds,
and i was 11 weeks at booking in appt)?? o well, thats life I spose, thought about
buying a doppler but not really see the point as may possibly be feeling the baby
move by the end of may so decided would be a waste of money, although I have
thought about hiring one for a couple of weeks.

Anyway, hope everyones well, better go before ds wakes up from nap as lots to do
lol xx

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 16:27

Hi Beks, nice to see you here. Tell me more about these doppler thingies, i'm intrigued!

Diddle, I think i'm 10 weeks on Monday, if i was 8 weeks last Monday then is that how you work it out??? Still lethargic, have sat around in PJs ALL day lust roaming from one room to another via the PC!!! I also keep texting DH with little demands of goodies, sparkling water had now been added to the list

I should really get up and cook but i did that yesterday on return from work and was one sick Chacha - eugh! I really feel like one of those Mr.Kiplings french fancies (I haven't had one in years) followed by some chilled melon and lollypops!

Diddle, dont worry about the gym etc..just take it easy esp if AF is due and have a bit of a relax and pamper yourself, surely you're going to need all your energy soon

busyalexsmummy · 27/04/2005 16:32

PS chacha thanks for asking after me, did you mean me or beksmum?! confused!

doppler/sonacaid-instrument that m/ws use for listening in to the babys heartbeat, they put transmittion gel on your abdomen and place the doppler on to listen, people do hire them out or you can buy them(ebays the cheapest place to buy them)

cp3 · 27/04/2005 17:09

Hellkat im so sorry for your news. You know i know how you feel so if you need me just cat me or catch me on a thread. for you. Its a terrible thing.
I personally am finding myself feeling alot more posotive now. Ther was a reason it happened and although i will never forget i musnt dwell as it wont solve anything. It may sound silly to some but my rose tree helps, i check it everyday and make sure its watered and fed. Its my memory tree.

So pleased everyone else is doing well too. Im going o bung myself over on the ttcing thread now but i will keep popping in and checking on you lot.

tex111 · 27/04/2005 17:40

Hi gals, have just had a quick scan through the thread and wanted to send best wishes to HK.

Had our scan today and it's all good news. There is in fact a baby in there and a healthy one at that! The NT test was normal and everything looks great. BEKsmum, thanks so much for the info about Kings. I would've lost my mind this afternoon if you hadn't warned me about the parking and the long wait. It was over two hours before we were seen but I had taken packed lunches for me and DS so it wasn't so bad. DS did very well. Was getting a bit manic from boredom by the end but he was very excited to see the baby.

Going to order something in now and just collapse on the couch for the evening. DH should be coming home tomorrow and I can't wait!

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 18:16

Hi Tex, congrats on the scan

Yeah Busy, I meant you .. i get you and Becks really confused. Could it really be because your names both begin with a 'B'? Duh

JenJam · 27/04/2005 18:36

Hello tex, i'm very pleased to hear yr scan is all cool. Re: NT...did they take blood and do the NT measurement and combine the two?

dangirl · 27/04/2005 19:23

Hi everyone,
I'm soo upset!
I think I am having another m/c. Have started bleeding - bright red, only small amounts, no clots (yet) BUT... I am beginning to get some pretty bad cramps, so I'm pretty sure I know which way it is going. also my breasts are no longer sore.
I am seeing the Dr tomorrow at 11.30 who will then arrange for a scan for me at Queen Charlotte's.
I am just so sad!
Dangirl

ChaCha · 27/04/2005 19:30

Dangirl..........geesh! Are you online right now? I've read that in some PG's bleeding is okay..geeh, don't know what to say. U here to talk?
