Rodeo my scan is 3pm at Kings and nuts to twins, that wouldn't make me excited it'd make suicidal!!! How much do you think I'd get for one of them on E-Bay? - Just joking girls, in case you're not sure.

rodeo1 · 25/04/2005 11:51

rodeo - that list is one long list! Well done!

Q - is anyone else going to queen charlottes in hammersmith?

good luck beks and thom with the scan, I bet you are both really excited.

Thomcat · 25/04/2005 16:03

Me - i'm booked in to Queen Charlottes.
Not having this scan done there, I was booked in on Friday so not all sorted yet but that's where I'll be, at least for the early prenatal stageand then I might transfer somewhere a bit more local like Watford active birth centre (I'm in Pinner).

KristinaM · 25/04/2005 16:51

Enthusia - I hope you have contacted the Mw about your German Measles worries. They can do a blood test to see if you are immune and/or if you have become infected.

Everyone here is right - you probably got your rubella vaccine at school when you were 13. When you get your booking in appointmnet at the hospital they take blood routinely and test it for a whole host of things , including rubella. I think the other things are HIV, Hepatitis B and syphilis. Of course you dont have to have this, or any other test, during pregnancy if you dont want to but they sometimes dont explain this very well!!

Try not to worry

ChaCha · 25/04/2005 17:00

I was talking about this very subject with a friend at the weekend, i just found this great thread on it and wondered what you all think. Don't ask me why i'm worrying about this now at only 9 weeks but we have a lot of friends and relatives ...

ChaCha · 25/04/2005 18:30

Enthusia, where are you?
What happened at work? Did you call the GP/midwife? Been thinking of you, let me know asap

rodeo1 · 25/04/2005 19:05

Are you there BEKs and TC?? How were the scans? Any sets of twins? x x x

OP posts:
Thomcat · 25/04/2005 19:29

Sorry, posted this in conception and then realised ... oh anyway.... I'll repeat it here...........

Not great really girls.
It's either good or bad and i'll only know which in 2 weeks.
I'm either only 5 weeks pregnant, not the 10 that we thought.
Or I'm 10 weeks 'pregnant' and the 'baby' hasn't done anything for 5 weeks.

So - that's it really.

I've done the math and I've pretty much convinced myself that it's unlikey to be good news. Pesamistic yes but there was a reason I wanted this scan so quickly, a niggle that was unlying my happiness.

My last period was 14 Feb. It seems more likey that it's not going to b e the good news. Will only know in 2 weeks time. Can't do anything till the next scan.

Anyway, that's that.
For now.

TC

Diddle · 25/04/2005 19:32

oh TC i'm sorry they didn't say anything good to you. You never know it might be all ok. You could have missed a period and then fell pregnant, you never know.
Did they tell you anything at all that said one way or the other, or are they just leaving you guessing. I had the 2 weeks wait and i know how terrible you must be feeling, and worried.
Stay positive it could all be ok.

rodeo1 · 25/04/2005 19:38

I'm really sorry TC, how crap.

Love to you and your lovely family

I'll keep my fingers crossed just in case

Likewise, everything crossed TC. Does it have to be 2 weeks, I remember the awful 2 week wait that Diddle had to go through, no chance of a private scan mate?
Love and Hugs

Thomcat · 25/04/2005 19:51

That was private. The only way to know is to scan again in 2 weeks and see if it's grown, or not

ChaCha · 25/04/2005 20:36

Well listen TC, we'll all be waiting together. I can imagine how hard the next 2 weeks are going to be for you and your DH/DP but they might be easier with some support and you'll have plenty on here The girls are just fantastic on this thread. Chin up love, feel free to talk at anytime..loadsa hugs xxx

ChaCha · 25/04/2005 20:57

Where are the ladies who scanned today?
I'm really worried about you guys, hopefully you're both exhausted and having an early night!
Enthusia..how the heck are you my friend?

cp3 · 25/04/2005 21:13

TC Feel for you Honey, two weeks will be the longest of your life. Take care.

Diddle i just saw your bit about the Roses, its strange what a sense of calm they bring isnt it. Mine is called Little Pet which i thought was apt. But i like to call it MaddyD. And im proud to say it does make me smile now. Its very small white roses and i cant wait for it to flower.

BEKsmum · 25/04/2005 21:46

Evening girls, Thomcat really sorry to here your news, I'll keep everything crossed for you, hope they can give you some good news in two weeks time.

Right where to start I feel guilty posting this now but thankfully I've got good news to post as we successfully got to see bub this afternoon. Horray girls I'm very pleased to say that there is only one in there and not two as I feared but I'm only 11 weeks and not 12 as I thought so have another week of ms to go through - bugger!

Have to go back next week as the lazy little rug rat was fast asleep and would not be budged even though she banged around on my tummy like a bulldozer, but with all the extra padding I've got bub didn't even notice. Even tried an internal scan and it still refused to move other than to stretch it's legs out and settle back firmly into place.

Feeling much happier now I've seen it and heard a heartbeat, as to be honest I thought I was going to be leaving this thread as well tonight as have not been feeling to positive since I found out I was pregnant. THink this was down to a close friend m/cing recently and knowing that my mum lost two between me & my brother.

Looking forward to getting another cahnce to see bub next week and getting a clearer picture this time.

Am going to go now as I'm knackered as I was up all night with ds as he was having nightmares and hallucinations, we think it was just because he was overtired, and was scared by a Noddy story at bed time - the balls bounced Noddy out of town . Hope he's going to have a better night tonight but I've just had him up with a sore tummy so we'll have to see.

Thanks for your concern girls it's really nice to know you are all here and I'm going to check out Rodeo's new thread too.

HK hugs to you sweetheart hope tomorrow goes smoothly for you. Sending you cyber hugs & a big cyber bq of flowers to make you feel better.

BEKsmum · 25/04/2005 21:53

Sorry back to say fantastic job Rodeo, what a star.

Welcome aboard Jingle, hope all goes well for you.

Changing my due date to 12th November for now, will tell you all a more accurate date when I get one.

Hard luck Chacha, we're not kicking you off even if you are really a December baby, you're stuck with us for the duration now

yingers74 · 25/04/2005 22:00

Beks - glad to hear your news and also heartened to hear it is not twins as it gives me hope that my dream about having triplets will not come true!!!

Thom - am so sorry to hear your news, but am staying positive and have my fingers crossed.

I am still throwing up, when will it stop??? The worst thing is that am having to do cc with my dd as since staying with my parents, she has started waking up at night - am so tired. It is so heart wretching too, but know I have to do it as I really can't sleep on her floor which is what she wants me to do!

tex111 · 25/04/2005 22:00

Hi gals, have had a mad 24 hours but wanted to check in.

Thomcat, I'm so sorry to hear about your scan. I know two weeks will feel like an eternity. I remember Diddle did a pregnancy test that came up negative before her two weeks were up. When did you get your positive test? It seems like it was very recent. If things had stopped developing five weeks ago I would think you would get a negative with a test by now. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you and following your progress. Really hope you get some good news.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. DS had an emergency appendectomy last night and it's been chaos here. I rushed him to A&E yesterday afternoon and he had the op around midnight last night. He's doing really well but will be in hospital for a couple more days. It does mean I'll be on my own at my scan on Wednesday which is a bummer. Fingers crossed that everything is OK in there.

OK, totally exhausted so must got to bed now. Hope you're all well. BEKsmum, very glad the scan went well and you only have one in there!

Will try to pop in again tomorrow. Nighty night!

tex111 · 25/04/2005 22:02

Just read my message and wanted to say it was DH, not DS, who had the op. Sleep deprivation!

yingers74 · 25/04/2005 22:14

tex - u must have been terrified. Glad to hear that he is doing well, pls send him our best wishes and love. Take care of yourself.

Thomcat · 25/04/2005 22:16
