I wonder what I could get for this baby... A hamster, perhaps?

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 27/02/2009 11:54

Springy - how bizarre is that???

tristaleejac · 27/02/2009 11:54

Hi all,
I'm so jealous of everyone considering HB, I'd love one. Only thing is, I was so loud with DS I wouldn't dare have HB now I reckon neighbours would call the police!!

Welcome Lauren

I had loads of fun last night getting a belly cast done. Does anyone think a pic or 2 on my profile would be ok to show me having it done? It's a new camera so still have to load software and all that but if i can manage to upload I'd love to show you. It was so much fun!

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 11:56

Kitty, it's very bizarre. But I would quite like a fluffy little thing around the flat, we're not allowed cats or dogs, & this baby's beginning to seem like a lot of hard work

& trista, go for it with the photos! Definitely!

tristaleejac · 27/02/2009 11:57

springy my DP is determined to be in water with me and I'd love it too. We're hoping that it'll happen. We'll hopefully be in MLU where they are very relaxed about these things, so fingers crossed, it sounds like such a lovely experience.

tristaleejac · 27/02/2009 11:59

ok I'll be back soon I'll try to get pics up

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 12:02

I'm not sure if I'd want him in with me, only because I'm not sure if I'm going to want anybody touching me at all - I think I may well be one of these women who just retreat into themselves & have to cope alone. It may well just irritate me having him floating around next to me. But it'd be nice to have the option, I think.

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 12:05

Springy, DPs are allowed in no problem I think, just tell him to take some trunks!

I skyplussed it but saw most of it on YouTube! But will be watching this tonight along with ER! I love Thursday night TV!!!

Oooh tristal really want to see the pic xx

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 12:07

Springy was it the pig one???

OddEyes · 27/02/2009 12:07

Raaaah!
Just got back from midwives - no hip form gave me an internet print out and said i had to phone. Phoned again after being told 2 wks ago to go to midwife, and they said nope - see your midwife. So went to Docs who hadn't a clue. Looks like I am not going to get my £190!
Also now have a consultant appointment on Monday as MW thinks that I won't be allowed to have vaginal delivery with lo being so big already. Don't mind just want to know what is happening when.
Alos had couldn't sleep last night as was so angry with PIL for vetoing our names - really makes my blood boil. Apparently they had had a big 'famly discussion' about it on Tuesday night after I went to bed. dh decided not to tell me. but fil bought it up last night - raaaaah!
...think i am feeling rather tired and hormonal just now, sorry for rant glad you girls understand though

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 12:08

Haha, I just have visions of me screaming 'what are you getting undressed for? Don't you think that's done enough damage?' as he gets changed into his trunks

& I won't say anything about it until you've seen it properly, then

All of my hospital bag stuff has just arrived. I now feel quite prepared - I finally have maternity pads in the flat, for a start! He's full-term 3 weeks tomorrow! YAY!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/02/2009 12:10

Boffin - Yay for finished bathroom and WarmSpace (v good company!!! they did our cavity walls and loft so you are in safe hands ). You could spray the handle with chrome hammerite? Also got a letter saying i'm not entitled to DLA at all as apparently my illness will not last longer than the end of July?!? it's nice to know that they can be so sure.

BB & Frekkles - yep am really pleased with Tianna (it means Fairy Queen ) which does seem very fitting as DD is named after a mythical bird lol and the names go well together

Kalikaroo - i need to find a policeman hahahahahahaha

Frekkles - that name thing is spot on for me and DD lol

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 12:11

Yes, it was the pig one

OddEyes, I'm having similar issues with my HiP. I have an appointment with my MW (I say 'my' MW, I mean 'a' MW, as there's no consistency at all) on Tuesday again, but if they don't have it then, that'll be 4 appointments in a row

How big is your LO? I'm sure you've already said, but my brain's not at its best at the moment

& they had a family discussion about your choice of names? Really?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/02/2009 12:16

Springy - i'm happy to help you get naughty tis an honour lol aww your dh is so cute bless

KItty - yay for tens

Oddeyes - Bloody cheek!!! no wonder you're naming is personal between parents not a farking group discussion!

Trista - pics please

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/02/2009 12:18

note :- names may be disscussed on MN (tis essential lol)

frostyfrekkles · 27/02/2009 12:26

i got the HIP from from my midwife yesterday, so they aren't completely mythical i promise.

My local hospital won't do tours (apparently they've not enough staff to do that) and have an overstretched reputation. Apparently they've turned 1 in 5 folk labouring folk away recently. I also have not enjoyed any contact I've had with them in my pregnancy. I don't like hospitals atall and feel stressed and scared just entering them.

I would really like to have a home birth, but guess I'm just scared. Been reading about all the cord prolapse. shoulder dystacia stuff and freaking myself out. My sister had shoulder dystacia in her first birth with my niece and it's sounds utterly terrifying. but from her birth story I think that her whole labour was a nightmare from the minute she got into hospital and the midwives upset her by telling her she wasn't dilated enough, and then intervention folowed intervention.

I'm a bit confused as it seems all so lovely and fluffy being at home if you read all the pro homebirth stories, but the opposite from pro hospital and I can't seem to find any completely independant information.

I'm about 15 mins from the hospital. That's close isn't it?

OddEyes · 27/02/2009 12:30
