OddEyes · 26/02/2009 22:22

Evening all! PIL just left, so just about to catch up with you all again.
So looking forward to getting on with nesting again now. So much to do. Can't believe tis march this w/e. 18 days to go until induction wk....arhh!
Thanks for the votes on names. PIL apparently made a stink to dh about Isobel, they have a friend called Isobel who they seem to dislike. Am wee bit annoyed, I don't know her and it really shouldn't matter anyways.
Midwife and anti D tomorrow. What whould we be talking about? Always feel I leave the MW after sitting and politly nodding for 15 mins and come out thinking of all the the things I should of asked or said!
Anyways catch up time and then will be back on tomorrow hopefully.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 22:26

oddeyes - write everything you think of down post MW visit then ask at your next appointment, keep it in your notes so that even if you forget your midwife will see it WOW 18 days HOW EXCITING!!!

frostyfrekkles · 26/02/2009 22:30

hello!

odd eyes, I'm thinking of isobel too! i've always thought i'd call my daughter isobel

hey everyone, just checking in to give you an update on the life of frekkles. I am now half packed and moving on saturday. very excited now ! really want to be there and get ready! saw the midwife today and everything seems ok.

I'm wondering though about my due date, i think it should be earlier. Do any of you know how to calculate a due date from your conception date? As I'm pretty damn sure i know that conceived on July 13 th . The first day of my last mestrual period was 26th June. Any one any idea?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 22:31

frostyfrekkles · 26/02/2009 22:39

yeah see i think it's more likely to be the start of the month. or around the 12th if i'm a week and abit late by my dates..... do you think this is good or bad that the midwives have me down as the 24th by the booking scan date?

having a bit of a mare trying to decide on a homebirth or not just now. wish there wasn't such contraversy around everything! thought i'd decidd and i rang up nd told my mum and she said that if your aunt magaret hadn't have had a homebirth, you would have had another cousin and pleaded with me not to!

frostyfrekkles · 26/02/2009 22:40

terrible typing of mine!

hey puzzle and nutty xxxxxxxxxxxxxx how are you both this eve? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

frostyfrekkles · 26/02/2009 22:43

infact missus puzzle and nutty, i see your due dates are around the same as mine! when was the date of your last periods? or even when do you think the conception was?

and boff if you're around, could you tell me the same, as on my dates it calculates my due date as 2nd april, same as you x

hmmmmmm....

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 22:44

Banana Bonanza for me i think

Frekkles - I think homebirths are quite safe these days its like a hospital in your lounge/ kitchen etc (without the drugs though??) and you get personal MW care but i'm no expert never having had one Boffin will be able to advise you better do what you feel confident and comfortable with xx

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 22:48

LMP 24th July and i couldnt really tell you when conception was it was a busy time lol

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 22:52

also Puzzle is a hombirther too ( i think) ..

frekkles with your lmp you should definately be a lot earlier than me??? i would bring it up with the MW

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 22:56

Last day of my period was July 16th. I have a clockwork 28 day cycle.
I'm going for a homebirth. If you are a low risk pregnancy I believe they are statistically safer. How close is the hospital to your flat if you needed to go in?

OP posts:
PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 22:58

I'm pretty certain the conception date was August 1st.

OP posts:
thebluefoxategreensocks · 26/02/2009 22:58

frostyfrekkles: me having homebirth too! You should go for it - they're fab - far better than hospital! Had my last baby at home (after first one in hospital - first was planned homebith, but ended up induction in hosp) and I'd never got back to hospital...unless there was a very good reason why I needed to be there.

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 23:11

I'm nodding off, must go to bed now. Night.

As you ask, I can't remember exactly when we shagged etc, but I think LMP was 26 June 2008, and at the time I used this little online tool to work out ovulation dates. We had a shag the day before the ovulation date and one the day after, and one of those obviously did it. We avoided the date iteself because we were trying to have a girl, and we thought that might help. We also picked that cycle because according to Chinese horoscope folklore, that would mean conceiving a girl as well. Clearly old wives tales proved useless in our case and I have kept all the pretty pink clothes in the loft for twi decades for nothing . I have a 28 day cycle, and always got pg straight away five times out of five, so I clearly ovulate properly nearly every cycle, despite having a dodgy thyroid that can make you infertile. My theory is that all the women in my family are super-fertile anyway, which gives us a margin.

Mathsmummy, I think you are ACE putting red pen all over the mistakes. I do this on the letters the school sends home to us, as they are peppered with mistakes as well.

DD is taking me out today to buy accessories for the bathroom. They finished the tiling yesterday and it looks lovely, especially with all the new taps and so on (thanks Nutty!). Just the shower screen to go up and the rail for the shower head. Tiling it in ceramic sandstone-look has make the suite look cream rather than naff pink (there were pink tiles in there before which reflected the light in a funny way) so it's a bit like getting an entirely new bathroom. Still need to work out how to strip the gold off the grab handles on the bath though - they couldn't replace them without pulling the whole thing out, which I didn't want to do.
