Hellooo my favorite dirrrrrrty ladies!

I have to brag... I have spent the WHOLE day nesting - and am frankly astounded at my Domestic Goddessness (vvvvv unlike my usual slothfulness!)

Today, I have accomplished the following -

Rearranged the airing cupboard
Deep cleaned the bathroom
Cleaned out the chest of drawers that were being used for our clothes, washed & lined the drawers, and restocked with baby gear
Rearranged our entire wardrobe to accommodate above adult clothes
Set up the changing table
Made up the crib with little pink blankies
Done four loads of laundry
Ironed four loads of laundry
Washed windows inside & out
Changed the bedlinen
Taken out five loads of rubbish (baby clothes packaging etc)
Vacummed whole flat
Done six month's worth of filing
Made myself a cup of tea

Yee-ha!!!! I feel knackered!!! tee hee...

On a related note, mini-munchkin has definitely dropped today... think my body is trying to tell me something?

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 18:32

Hey MrsFossil - How lovely of your parents. Please do try and take it easy. Would you like to join our buddy system.

Brettgirl - Are you serious, that's crazy. Casting labouring women into the street. . You better staple the damn thing to your hand.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 26/02/2009 18:38

Awww... DH just called, he would like to know if he can stop off for fish & chips on his way home, because of all the hard work I've done today... I really love that man!!!

surprisenumber3 · 26/02/2009 19:11

gosh, just read all this - and it's taken me a very long time

Springy - married lady! Congrats!!

Gosh we're getting close now aren't we.

Nothing to report here really. Am feeling a bit sick lately and very tired and like I can't really be bothered to do anything. Going to try and move DS's in together this weekend so that we can decorate nursery the weekend after. Have also written a list of all baby things we need to get so am getting there slowly!

Does anyone else bump sometimes feel like the baby is 'breathing??'!! It isn't my pulse or anything, it's definitely her, she must just be moving a limb rhymthically or something. It's not as short or sharp as the hiccups - a bit strange really!

Those who know whether they're having a boy or girl - do you really believe it? And have you bought for that gender? I am still have trouble believing it's a girl after 2 boys (3 boys including DSS) but everything we have bought/others have bought is pink or girly! I was told on 20 week scan and 26 week 4D scan but still feel I'll be taking a boy home in pink clothes to a pink bedroom!!

When should we start with the perineal massage/raspberry leaf tea etc? I forget from last time, seems so long ago! I'm sure I used pure virgin olive oil last night and I had no stitches but what does everyone else use??

Will try and keep more uptodate with you all from now on!

surprisenumber3 · 26/02/2009 19:12

last night last time

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 19:16

Surprise - I get the rhythmic thing too.
I started drinking the tea 4 weeks prior and dilated very quickly and the pain was quite bearable until 6cm.

OP posts:
surprisenumber3 · 26/02/2009 19:18

thanks puzzle so I should start with the tea about 36 weeks? I didn't drink it last time.

I'm not seeing MW until 11th March (still every 4 weeks) - when does it go more regularly? I'm 33 weeks tomorrow.

Not had any bloods since 8 weeks either, I'm sure she said I will have some at 34 weeks but seems a very long time!

mathsmummy27 · 26/02/2009 19:53

hey peeps - I am going to give up work at 38 weeks even that feels like too early. I will get bored...
Boff/Nutty I can't believe I missed the fanjo water debate as I have a meaningful contribution - I have always suffered from this, even before having DD (in fact since my teens), although as I've got older it takes less time to dribble out(used to take 10-15 mins at least)

In my area we have a blue booklet - also crucial for giving birth apparently. It is so full of spelling and grammatical errors it is an embarrassment, frankly. I have circled them all in red to make me feel better

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 19:54

Puzzle 2 hour baths are the best

BB - do not sleep on the sofa!!!

Springy - at your ils!! more washing up indeed!

Brettgirl i only have my yellow notes, nothing green i feel left out lol

Mrsfossil - yay nice to hear from you

Kitty - Blimey go you!! Well done!! where do you get your drawer liners from???

Suprisenumber3 - was told girl and no there is still a niggle that this one is a boy. but i'm prepared from either the stuff i have bought is neutral the stuff i have been given however is girly. You should have has bloods at 28 weeks.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 19:55

Mathsmummy LOL at marking your maternity notes fabulous

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 19:56

Sorry, was just putting DD to bed. Yep, 36 weeks should do the trick. I don't thnk any earler s recommended.
I had bloods done at 28 weeks, I see my GP tomorrow at 32 weeks, Midwife at 36 and then theres a 38 week appt, followed by weekly ones.

Gah DH's collegue just had a baby and called it Sienna Lilly so Sienna is out for us. Nooooooooooooo

Scarlett, Skye, Imogen left to choose from.

mathsmummy27 · 26/02/2009 20:02

I vote for Scarlett - beautiful

Schulte · 26/02/2009 20:08

Gaaaaaaaaaahhhhh

I am now officially on maternity leave but the last couple of days were so manic with a last minute project that I didn't have a chance to even tidy my desk! I literally had to drop everything and run off to catch the train earlier - I'll have to go in again next week to pack my boxes and say goodbye properly. Feels like a real let-down somehow

Anyway catch-up time! See you in a few hours when I have read all your posts...

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 20:08

All gorgeous.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 26/02/2009 20:30

Ok dh and i have been having a root around and have hit upon

Tianna Skye

which we both really like as much as sienna (the other names were lovely but more back ups) am happy now will just roll it around for a bit and get used to it

surprisenumber3 · 26/02/2009 21:43

thanks Puzzle, will start at 36 weeks then!

Smutty - I asked about bloods at 28 weeks but was told I didn't need them as I'm rhesus positive, still seems wrong though and it seems everyone else has had bloods at 28 weeks

Am in agony tonight. Got really bad period type pain across bottom of bump which comes with strong tightness. I guess it's BH but they are SO painful! Feel so sick too.

Love the names mentioned, we still can't decide but I do love Evie - do you think it looks too much like 'Evil' though??

mrsfossil · 26/02/2009 21:46

hi puzzlerocks yes would like to join buddy system. Just read about it on earlier bit of thread. And i can't believe 1 of us has dropped congrats glask on ruby

I tried the rasberry leaf tea with ds and i went 2 weeks over, but i've heard that rather than start you off it helps tone your uterus (or something like that) so it might help over all.

One booklet given to me by mw suggested not only is sex a good way of starting labour but also giving dh/dp a blow j and swallowing and i ripped this page out before dh read it so i think over all i might give the rasberry tea another go.

surprisenumber3 · 26/02/2009 21:54

ha ha mrs fossil, i think i would have ripped that page out before DH read it too!

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 22:10

Nutty - Fab. Is that your final choice then?

Surprise - Evie is lovely.
I was told my bloods at 28 weeks were to check iron levels.

PuzzleRocks · 26/02/2009 22:17
