oh and one more thing barbarelly - do the cream and popping back in after a warm bath if its sore to do it at other times.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 25/02/2009 16:43

but it's all wait and see at the moment tbh.... who knows what they will do if anything (doing sweet fa has been par for the course so far lol)

BoffinMum · 25/02/2009 16:43

Smutty, you know what, I would probably be angling for a cs under a general at 37 weeks in your position, yes even me, the home birth queen. However are you sure a water birth would not be an option? Have you discussed that with them? They have recommended this for me.

BarbarellaNz · 25/02/2009 16:47

Oooh - a sweep sounds most unpleasant Boffin - does it hurt a lot?

conker off to have a bath now anyway so will try your trick

purplemonkeydishwasher · 25/02/2009 16:49

sorry nutty, i came into the conversation halfway and obviously had no idea what you were really talking baout. ignore me!

one thing i will say though is, like you, I'm end of april and hearing everyone talk about how many weeks to go just makes me depressed! it's soooo many still!!

BoffinMum · 25/02/2009 16:49

I have never had one but I bet you get cramps.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 25/02/2009 16:50

Boffin - yup, thats the plan well the cs under GA the date is variable i guess. will, definately ask about WB when i see the consultant. i'm just hoping they do/offer something at least. there is i high possibility they will just send me on my merry way with no plan (wouldnt suprise me) we shall see though, i am hopeful lol.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 25/02/2009 16:51

lets just say a sweep isn't comfortable. (someone sticking their hand up your fanjo and fiddling around with your cervix? yeah, not fun!)
but i think it depends on how 'ripe' you are. if your cervix is a bit soft it's probably not so bad and more likely to work. i was having a few little pains when i had mine done. the MW did the sweep and the pains stopped immediately. a week later i was induced.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 25/02/2009 16:53

Purple - no worries

sweeps are ok,bit uncomfy, dont do anything though lol i had 2 with dd

conkertree · 25/02/2009 16:55

i had a sweep on my due date with ds - had loads of bh afterwards but had been having quite a lot anyway. was hopeful but he was still 6 days late so dont suppose it helped much.

BabyBolat · 25/02/2009 16:59

Sweeps do sound very technical - probably a good thing tho as I would be getting DH up there everyday trying to get the bugger out if I was late!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 25/02/2009 17:00

BB - thats what the sex is for lol

BabyBolat · 25/02/2009 17:01

Note to earlier posts DH doesn't want to 'hurt the baby' WTF??!!! I am dying!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 25/02/2009 17:02

why do with his hand what you can do with his....

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 25/02/2009 17:05

do you have a rabbit?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 25/02/2009 17:06

BB please dont die

BabyBolat · 25/02/2009 17:10

No, I think I threw it away (ironically because pre-baby, DH and I had so much nookie I never used it (hence me getting myself in to this state in the first place - I blame him!!! !!!)

BabyBolat · 25/02/2009 17:15

oooh in fact that may be a bargaining tool - if he refuses, I will threaten to go and buy a new one and do the deed myself....

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 25/02/2009 17:23

LOL at BB's conversation with DH... "If you won't make love to me, I'll find a rabbit who will!!" and flounces out...

Sorry BB I couldn't resist...

Claireykitten · 25/02/2009 17:28

That shows how sweet and innocent I am, I was wondering why BB having a rabbit had any baring on the subject but obviously you didnt mean a fluffy bunny!!!

SpringySunshine · 25/02/2009 17:30

Barbarellyyyyyyy! YAY! Your tummy looks so cool Your back can't be feeling too good, but it's so impressive! Three babies in there! Wow! & ooooh, they're coming out in less than a week! (My GP prescribed me Anusol, which is available OTC)

Boffin, I'd love Dick van Dyke to be on hand for my labour - if anything would distract you from the pain of contractions, it'd be that & what a story to tell!

3/5 engaged is loads! Especially for a 4th baby, surely? Maybe you're really close to getting him out of you. Fingers crossed, eh? Ah, 2/5. But still - I'm sure that's uncommon at this point, especially for a 4th timer.

Oh Nutty, don't talk about the Welsh & sheep with the word 'chopper' in the same sentence - you know it can't end well

BB, you really think that you're going to be waiting for a long time after all these BH? More positivity, lady!

Mmm, olives. Why do I have no olives?

BabyBolat · 25/02/2009 17:32

you laugh Nutty but that is EXACTLY how it would be!!!

LuLuBai · 25/02/2009 18:10

uh-oh just popping in briefly while I prepare DDs supper (not cookies and olives after all)

I sense things are getting smutty...

Weren't we aiming for a CLEAN thread this time?

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 25/02/2009 18:15

Clean schmean... we would hate to be boring - wouldn't we ladies??

mathsmummy27 · 25/02/2009 18:23

my sweep really hurt but it worked...
