back to baths I used the sink normally. Do you think I could use a tubtrug this time?

Schulte · 23/02/2009 15:56

Boffin if it helps sort out your AP then surely it would DH as well...

Has anyone watched Baby Borrowers? It's just so wrong!

BoffinMum · 23/02/2009 16:08

Schulte, you can send him over here for detention as well. I have crayons to sharpen and books to put in alphabetical order. I think we can safely say he shouldn't cause you too much trouble after that.

Meeeahhahahhahha

Schulte · 23/02/2009 16:10

Do you do that with your students? Let them sharpen crayons?

Bronze what is a tubtrug?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:17

oh no i feel more smut coming on .......

is that a pencil in your pocket?

i know where you can put the lead from that pencil....

Schulte -tubtrug

Bronze i dont see why not

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:18

that is a thick crayon

Schulte · 23/02/2009 16:22

Tubtrug looks perfect to me! Then you can carry the baby in its bath around with you too

So - Baby Borrowers - any opinions?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:22

ooops i have just demolished 5 custard dohnuts in under 10 mins

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:23

Shulte - never seen it

Schulte · 23/02/2009 16:25

Bleurgh

Don't mention food

Schulte · 23/02/2009 16:26

Boff has gone a bit quiet eh... wonder if the builders are still there

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:27

Sorry Schulte

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:28

ROFL shes probably otherwise engaged in her bedroom having her pipes cleaned and viewing tools lol

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:29

i had better stop now before i get a virtual clip round the ear [worried emoticon]

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 23/02/2009 16:39

WOW! I've just spent the last two hours catching up from Thurs pm - what a lot of excitement there has been! Babies popping, SPD disappearing, builders with large tools, and a wedding... What a fab weekend!

TMI alert - I gave myself heart failure last night - DH and I were snuggling, as one does, and when I got up to go to the loo there was a gush of liquid... I thought it was my waters!! Turns out to be a different kind of liquid altogether... but for five mins I was certain labour was imminent and that, Murphy's Law, it would happen while we were housesitting an hour from home with NO hospital bag... serves me right for being over-organised!

We're off on a tour of the Birthing Centre at East Surrey Hosp tonight - I'm really, really not happy with Epsom hospital at all and don't have space in our flat for a pool (I'm really keen on a water birth) so we're going to see what it's like. The choice then becomes - a birth at home on dry land with all home comforts and no nasty wards - OR in a pool in a Birthing centre but the postnatal care is in the normal maternity ward. WWYD?

BoffinMum · 23/02/2009 16:41

ACTUALLY I was waving them off, I will have you know. They come back tomorrow.

Chrome taps in place.

Some tiling done - looks good. Suite definitely looks cream not pink now it has cream tiles next to it.

Solid oak 'soft close' loo seat installed.

New chrome basin taps installed in downstairs loo.

Kids' bathroom regrouted where I messed it up in 2006 trying to do my first major DIY tiling project. (Think Silence of the Lambs style massacre, but in white. I get Post Traumatic Stress Disorder just thinking about it).

They know a carpet guy who can come to measure up for the bathroom carpet.

One of their dads is also a decorator so will be able to quote for the woodwork at the front of the house outside (which is so bad it is getting embarrassing).

So all in all nesting is happening.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:42

right dd's dressing up box prezzy

so far i have

2 spanish dancer costumes
1 zebra costume (she has a thing about zebras?!?)
1 cat costume
1 Fairy costume
1 tu tu, leotard and tights (tempted to get myself a tutu!!)
3 masks (2 on sticks masquerade style)
1 bunny ears
deeley boppers

jewellery ....loads of

rings
necklaces
tiaras
bracelets

do you think this is enough?? anything else i can add?

(we got her one of those thick plastic playhouses for the garden as her main prezzie)

what do you think?

BoffinMum · 23/02/2009 16:44

KittyCat, I would not compromise. I would move out furniture and put a Pool in a Box mini birthing pool in there. Remember I have actually done this in a tiny London flat with three of us living in it and an inadequate water tank. The attitude of my mw at the time was "Hey, don't worry, I have even done one of these in a squat. This is nothing."

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:46

yikes Kitty, scary!! wait and see what you think of the birthing place as you may/ may not like it and opt for homebirth

BoffinMum · 23/02/2009 16:47

Nutty, sounds great, and she is a lucky girl. The only thing I would add is possibly a fairy wand with a star on the end and maybe even some fairy wings. Essential kit with a tutu IMO.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:48

Boffin hooray for nesting

Schulte · 23/02/2009 16:48

Ooooh Nutty that sounds like a fab present! She'll have so much fun with it. Maybe a few funny hats if you think you'd like to add something but to me it sounds like there's plenty in there. And I am going to steal your idea when DD is old enough!

Boff, so two more men coming eh?

Schulte · 23/02/2009 16:49

I like how you get other people to do the nesting for you

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/02/2009 16:49

wings and wand is with fairy costume so can be transferred to tutu outfit

BabyBolat · 23/02/2009 16:50

Smutty sounds amazing but shoes???? Does she have princess shoes and fairy shoes? Just a coupel of glittery ballet pumps would probably work!
