STT, I hope the medicine works soon and I will keep everything crossed for you that the scan goes well. I'll be thinking of you.

kookykid · 25/02/2009 17:19

STT - cork??!

kookykid · 25/02/2009 17:24

STT - I spoke to my mum who lives in Australia - she probably could've done without me sobbing down the phone-line TBH. She offered to come home, but we have agreed that if the diagnosis is confirmed she'll come home then. I really miss her! I'm not really ready to tell anyone else yet.
DH has told his parents too.

Kay - how are you and your DSs now? Hope you are all better.

Glask - hope you get to bring Ruby home very soon.

kayzr · 25/02/2009 17:45

Kooky, we're fine now. I still feel a bit queasy but I don't think I'll be sick again.

Was it the triple test you had?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 25/02/2009 17:51

Hello everyone

KK- hope you are ok... I really cant imagine how you must be feeling but am thinking of you. You mum sounds fab if she is offering to come home from australia to be with you.

Not caught up for a while...

STT- sorry you are feeling poorly.. hope things improve soon and you made it to collect DS without the cork as suggested by KK!!

Playing- wow, being induced on sunday! Hope you arent too worried about it. Sounds like the docts are doing the right stuff and you will very soon meet your baby very excited....

LB- glad you are ok and Im impressed you've been out already. Hope Owen's jaundice clears up soon. PS- you cant be LBump anymore!!!

Glask- your sound like its been a rough time but Im so pleased all is ok now. Hope you are able to get Ruby home as soon as she is well enough

Kayz- glad you are feeling better now too..

kayzr · 25/02/2009 17:57

STT, do you know if BB is still around? I know she was having a really hard time ttc but haven't 'seen' her while I've been checking the other wagon.

Astarte · 25/02/2009 18:08

Good to hear from you Glask and it sounds like she's a right little fighter

LB do try to take it a bit easier, it's very early days to be out n about after major abdo surgery. He's still gorgeous btw.

KK I don't have any experience sorry but Diege's advice sounds...well sound. I hope everything is resolved soon for you.

STT ick/boo for digestive problems, does it tend to flare with pg?

Playing good luck for Sunday

ohsnap · 25/02/2009 19:41

KK sorry for your news, I really hope you get good results from your scan, here's hoping the next 4(?) weeks fly by for you.

STT, your poor insides, I hope the meds kick in soon.

Playing, good luck for sunday, and just because you're being induced doesn't mean you can't use the pool, I was induced with DD1 and used the pool for about 6 hours!

Am busy symptom spotting here, it's a week until I test and so far I have excessive wind a sore tummy and a mysteriously runny nose. Had a letter from the doc today though which says that my prolactin level is 675 (max normal is 580) so it would be pretty unlikely that I successfully OVd, let alone got pg! Well, we shall see....

kookykid · 25/02/2009 20:40

I am seeing a consultant on Monday, which is an appointment that was made ages ago. It'll be interesting to hear what s/he has to say.

DH is being brilliant and quite positive about it all. My little DD (23 months) made me feel so much better when she arrived home this afternoon and I am feeling quite humbled and lucky to have her. Am trying to count my blessings, rather than focus on the worst case scenario.

Sorry have been so me me me today.

lardybump · 25/02/2009 21:36

Evening everyone. I didn't have a csection, sorry if I gave that impression......

KK thinking off you and your family...

I have had a bit of a worry today as well. DS had a really bad night. He would scream and look like he was wanted food so I would put him to boob and he would latch on only to pull away a couple of mins later and scream. This went on all night so neither of us slept. Told MW who said it was probably due to my milk coming in and giving him a tummy ache.... Anyway he has now gone 32 hours without a poo.... I have just called labour ward who are going to get a MW out tomorrow..... But told me not to worry. I am really worried though that he has a blockage of some kind..... Has anyone else had experiance of this???? He is only just 4 days old....... DD had about 5 poos a day at this age. He doesn't wind very well either!!!!

ohsnap · 25/02/2009 21:58

Sorry I don't have any great advice for you LB (whho, incidentally is neither lardy, nor bumpy!) but I didn't want you to go unanswered. The only scrap of possible useful knowledge I have for you is that I think sometimes BF babies don't always poo all the time as they absorb so much of the milk there's very little wastage IYSWIM. Are his nappies still wet? I think the wee's more important than the poo at this age!

Is he still very sicky or has that calmed down now? Hope you have a better night tonight.

lardybump · 25/02/2009 22:21

He isn't as sicky now but we find it really hard to wind him so he does get a lot of hicups and that makes him sick.... He is screaming now so guess I am in for another sleepless night......

How can I make him feed for longer rather than so often at the moment he is looking for food every hour but only goes on for 5 mins or so...

lardybump · 25/02/2009 22:30

right I am off now sorry i cant get on very much at the moment...

kookykid · 25/02/2009 22:31

LB - is he doing going to the breast for comfort rather than food? Is it too early to try a dummy?

I also used to gently massage DD's little tummy in a clockwise motion (as this is the way the digestive tract goes apparently) to help wind her and to help her poo.

I know tiny babies get confused signals when the mother's milk comes in, not knowing whether to feed or not, so maybe get DP to take him from you as much as possible when you're not feeding him?

I really feel for you, I remember so well those hard early nights with DD. Try to keep in mind that it gets better! Thinking of you.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 26/02/2009 08:01

Morning!

LB - Hope your night was better than expected. Sorry I don't really have any advice to add but what Kooky and Ohsnap have said makes sense.

Kooky - hope you managed to get some sleep. I know you've had lots of reassurances which I hope has helped but I know it won't take away all of the worry until you know what's going on. Am thinking of you.

OhSnap - will keep my fingers crossed for you. Runny nose is good...
How's your Granny doing?

Astarte - good to hear DD2 is doing well.

GYo - I'd always go for brownies but maybe you could bake a double batch and share some??!

Sparkly - Hope all goes well with your scan. If you are prone to IBS, it could be related to that as the first few weeks can be very worrying and stressfull - especially after a previous mc. Take it easy and I'll be lurking for your update!

Glaskham - sounds like you're doing really well and hope your post natal check went ok.

Hello Kay, LBOT, Gruff, Star, Playing and any other lurkers!

I've got a pretty full day with work today (hence the early post!) Meeting in Eastbourne this morning and then I'm covering as a pharmacist in Robertsbridge (just north of Hastings) this afternoon. It'll be the most driving I've done in about 10 days so I'm hoping my back will be ok.
Will lurk when I can!

lardybump · 26/02/2009 08:13

i feel really bad

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 26/02/2009 08:31

LB - sorry you're feeling like this. I've popped over to your other thread and am pleased to see you're now getting some responses with advice. I hope it helps. Take care

lardybump · 26/02/2009 08:40

Thanks ses, I feel bad for moaning as well.... Going to try and find out about feeding clinc today..

tinkislittlemissshopping · 26/02/2009 09:05

morning

bracken is great thanks for asking ses she is still a right guzzler getting bigger by the day!! is having 2ozs 2hrly.

poor you sparkly hope u feel better soon

poor u lardy that must be so frustrating!! i am sure that things will sort out
i am planning my next purchases
going to buy dd1 a fisherprice camera and a vtech laptop.
she is obssessed with taking picturs on my camera and keep changing the settings and she is always on our computer.

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 10:11

Sorry you had another bad night LB, I hope you get some good advice soon.

Good luck with your scan STT, we'll be here waiting for you when you get back!

Thanks for crossed fingers Ses, but I'm afraid it didn't work, AF arrived late last night
Also Granny is worse than we thought, she has a split aorta which means that either it will heal by itself and she'll be home in a week or two, or (more likely) she will die in the next few days. We are all up and down, not knowing whether to look forward to her coming home, or saying our goodbyes. I'm trying to explain what's going on to DD1 (DD2 doesn't really understand much) and she understands that she's very poorly and might not get better, but she's very fond of her Great Granny and I think she will miss her terribly if she goes

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 10:31

Let's all have one of these and several of these [self indulgent misery emoticon]

kayzr · 26/02/2009 10:39

Morning,

LB, Sorry you are having a hard time of things. I hope he settles down soon. I know the first few days with DS2 were really hard and I didn't have the fast birth you did. So I can imagine it is really tough. I do agree that the not pooing is a bit of a problem.

Ohsnap, I am really sorry about your Granny. I'll keep hoping she will be fine for you. Also sorry about AF. You can have all the brownies if you want!!

lardybump · 26/02/2009 10:45

He has just had a poo.... Lots of it and bright yellow. isnt the colour change related to my milk, does that mean he is getting milk?

Sparklytwinkletoes · 26/02/2009 10:46

We are in the wars aren't we...

LB, sorry to hear feeding isn't easy, but sounds like you might just have turned a corner? Keep us posted won't you.

Scan went fine, saw a little 'cashew nut' according to the sonographer , measuring about 7.5 weeks she said, which is about in line with my dates. So now they have ruled out any gynae problems causing the diarrhoea and have discharged me back to my GP.

I've got my booking in appt. with the mw this afternoon and I've managed to get an appt. with my favourite doc after that.

Got back from the hospital feeling unusually peckish and thought I'd make the most of it - so had a couple of toasted crumpets with strawberry jam, probably the only meal I've enjoyed all week - and have just promptly thrown it all back up again .

I feel sooooo sorry for myself. I promised I wouldn't complain about being ill when pregnancy, I've just been so desperate to get here - but this isn't pregnancy related illness so its justified, right?

The nurse at the hospital said I need to push the fluids as much as I can and sign myself off work for a couple of days, then when I see GP later see what the next step is.

Between D and V, there's not a whole lot of calories going in, which I know isn't criticial, in fact, its undoing all the facestuffing that I had been doing up until about a week or so ago....

Sparklytwinkletoes · 26/02/2009 10:47

Oooh, x posted on this thread LB, I'd say that lots and bright yellow sounded like me at the moment just like DS when he was newborn - maybe your milk has now come in?
