YAY STT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about D&V though

LB, that sounds about right. Yellow is normal and means he is getting enough milk.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 26/02/2009 11:01

Oh, and def. only one in there!

idreamofbeanie · 26/02/2009 11:15

Morning all,

LB - sorry you are having such a tough first few days. I have absolutely no advice but I hope it settles down soon.

Sparkly - hooray for the little cashew and you are definitely allowed to moan about d+v!

Ohsnap - for AF and I'm so so sorry to hear about your gran. I really hope she is home soon, the waiting is awful.

KK - sorry you have all this worry for the next few weeks. The test seems to have such a horrendous rate of false positives and it must be hugely stressful when something like this comes up. When will you get a date for a scan?

Well I really don't have any reason to worry or feel blue but for some reason I've woken up this morning in a really crappy mood . I feel like I want to burst into tears and just feel totally stressed about nothing. My ms has eased this week and I've had a bit of a sore stomach. I know it's normal and my stomach does feel more like sore muscles or stretching rather than cramps but I'm just being really negative today and am convinced something has gone wrong. Damn these pregnancy hormones - deep down I know that's all this is but just don't want to be rational about it. I want to go home, have a good cry and eat something comforting like a big lasagna or a plate of shepherds pie. Sorry for the whinge - I feel bad when so many people have genuine worries this week - but just needed to offload.

Diege · 26/02/2009 11:20

Hello!!
Am holed up with computer in dd3's bedroom as workmen have taken over my house (new kitchen being fitted). Will be really glad when it's done as meal times in evening with dds have been difficult to say the least. Only another few days though (so they say..)
KOOKY, hope you get some answers from the consultant - make sure you ask to speak to the consultant when you book in at the recpetion, rather than take pot luck with the 'also rans'. Have been thinking about you a lot, as at one point in my pregnancy I was given 1/63 chance of Edwards by sonographer (and would if I was in US)but consultant says that's 'rubbish' and risk isn't raised from age-related. How many weeks are you now? While this sounds awful and please don't take it the wrong way, the vast majority of edwards babies are miscarried before 12 weeks, with only 1 in 7000 born, so incredibly rare. FWIW I agree with what others have said about waiting for a scan, esp as the amnio would only be a week apart. And putting my bossy hat on ring ARK!! I still do every week or so - what a brilliant resource they are. Take care xxx
STT, excellent news on your little cashew nut . Hope you get some relief from your symptoms soon xx
LB, right yellow poo sounds good! Agree, means he's absorbing the milk etc.
SES, hope the driving goes OK, and that you can get a bit of rest at some point x
ASARTE, could I be cheaky and bagsy the Tramadol?? (if no-one else has asked first).
OHSNAP, really sorry about your granny That must be so hard. Take care, and let us know how things are going when you can. Sorry about af too
Hello to everyone else. Have a lecture to write so will no doubt be on here today more often than not .
Lots of batches of brownies to bake I think for the wagon this week!

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 13:05

Glad you got reassuring views of your cashew STT, it must be a relief knowing there's nothing wrong there! How's your tummy, are the meds helping yet?

Cosmogirl · 26/02/2009 13:16

Hi all,

Non-wagon hugs to everyone having a rough time at the moment.

Congrats on your scan SST

It is my penultimate day at work today, so despite being plagued by the usual nausea, I cannot be too fed up today.

MIL is going to Australia tomo for two and a half weeks to see BIL and SIL and their two DSs - she said not to have the baby until she is back....Well, I have to say I am fully hoping I will have had it by then! So over being pregnant now and hoping 37 weeks could be the lucky number for me (fingers/toes crossed)

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 26/02/2009 13:53

Sparkly - really pleased your scan went well
Don't worry about complaining about ailments - we understand!

OhSnap - sorry the news wasn't so good regards your granny. Must be a bit of a rollercoaster. Thinking of you.

Diege - exciting about new kitchen but I guess it does mean trying to be a bit inventive with meals in the meantime.

Cosmo - yay for ML Hope your 37 week plan comes true!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 26/02/2009 14:02

IDOB - boo hiss to pg hormones. It's such a good sign but makes you feel so rubbish!

LB - yay for poo!

Diege · 26/02/2009 14:13

Great news that ML is so imminent COSMO I bet you thought it would never come around! Dare I ask if the sickness is passed yet so that you can enjoy it properly?
IDOB, totoally normal, but big sympathies. Hope you get that big plate of lasagne!
SES, when does you ML start? I'm seeing woman from HR on Monday to firm up dates/entitlements etc. My place do an enhanced package, which will mean at least 3 months of full pay, which I've never had before! (then I think it's 6 months at 50% plus SMP).
Kitchen men still sawing away...they now say next weds before it's finished ...

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 14:47

I have a faint glimmer of hope.....

TMI TMI TMI TMI TMI
I just went to change my tampon and found it utterly spotless!
Resume viewing

AF seems to have packed her bags already, I must say I was surprised at her arrival, I wasn't expecting it for another week, so now I'm thinking maybe implantation????? I've never had that before so am a bit but as long as there's no return of unwelcome ladies I shall POAS next week as planned.

Mat pay sounds good Diege, but boo hiss for kitchen delays, can you still cook anywhere?

lastboxoftampons · 26/02/2009 15:22

STT!!!!!!!! Wonderful news! I'm so glad it's all looking good.

OS So sorry about your Gran But crossing fingers for your glimmer of hope!

Diege, super jealous of your mat package!

Cosmo - enjoy your last day and a half!

LB - Hooray for poo! Has DS settled down any since then? maybe it's been, um, brewing for a while and making him uncomfortable?

IDOB - Brownies cure all - have one!

I've been a little emotional lately myself. I started to tear up when I saw the pics of David Cameron and his son on the covers of the papers this morning so sad. Then I saw a picture of Brad carrying Shiloh and got a bit weepy thinking of my DH carrying our LO. Babies, Babies, everywhere!

SleepyCaz · 26/02/2009 15:34

Is this a thread for Jan 09 Mummies? My DS was born 29/01/09. A little sister for DS, 2.5!

tinkislittlemissshopping · 26/02/2009 15:57

oh good luck
os

brackens poo is bright yellow
welcome sc and congrats

lastboxoftampons · 26/02/2009 16:05

Hi Sleepycaz - we're not particularly Jan 09ers. Lots of us here started on a thread over on conception and then as more and more got lucky, thought we should all move over to the antenatal threads. We've got 8 babies so far with one more coming over the weekend all the way through to some in their early first tri and even TTCing.

Welcome

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 26/02/2009 16:06

Hiya all... only dropping in quick again really...

KK- so sorry to hear the news about your blood test results, (i didn't ignore your post, x-posted and dashed- sorry) i'm glad to see you've made a decision, and got all your questions etc that you want answering- it's good to have things straight in your head then you can be prepared for straight answers... i mean i had no time to get my head around things and i'd think of something i wanted to know and by time i saw some-one i'd forgotten... I do hope everything is ok, and send you lots of love at this time!!

STT- sorry to hear about your illness- doesn't sound nice!! Hope you're on the mend soon!!

And as for me.... Ruby went into a cot early hours of yesterday morning, and is now in clothes, off the drip, off the glucose, off the heart rate monitor.... all she is dependant on now is her feeding tube. BUT last night i tried her at the breast just before she was due a feed and although she was asleep she clamped onto my nipple and attempted to have a suck but got nothing... about 2hrs ago when i was with her she managed to latch on and suck enough to get a couple of drops, and that was in her sleep aswell!!! I'm hoping to try her every time we go now so she has more chance to practice and hopefully be feeding sooner!!

My expressing is going well, i'm pumping every 3hrs and managing about an ounce at a time, and she's feeding just under an ounce every 2 hrs right now, so i'm supplying 2 out of 3 feeds at the moment!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 26/02/2009 16:17

oh and i got back into my jeans this morning!!!!

and i got a text from Nat the other day so she's still alive- must just be too busy to grace the wagon with her presence!!

GruffaloSoldier · 26/02/2009 16:19

Hi Glask - that sounds like such great progress! You must be so thrilled. Im sure she will be BF in no time by the sounds of that. Is there any more developements when you can bring her home?

Fingers crossed for you then Ohsnap!

Diege - thats not great about builders. Maybe they were giving you worst case scenario? Maybe you should get your hands on a rocket

Cosmo - not far now! Keep going! I am off this week then have next week and three days the week after to do, but I'm so ready to finish NOW!!!!

Hello to everyone else Ive missed. Im having a weird day today. Been really tired, headachy and dizzy and had to sleep most of afternnon. Hopefully I'll snap out of it soon!

GruffaloSoldier · 26/02/2009 16:22

Aww Glask just saw your pic of Ruby on FB - soooo gorgeous!

lardybump · 26/02/2009 17:13

DS is sleeping all day today which means he will probably have me up all night again... How do i get this to turn around????? But I am waking him every two hours and feeding him. He is on for about 10 mins every time so better than he was.... I am going to try to sleep for a while now, think I have over done it today as my bits are now throbbing...

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 17:28

LB I think it might be a little bit early for trying to make DS diurnal as he is still very young, but you're probably doing the right thing waking him for feeds during the day. Do you keep everything dark and quiet when you feed him in the night? I found that helped start some sort of routine, but not sure it was very effective this early.......

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 17:34

Sorky, Tink, LB, anyone else with temping experience, can you have a look at my chart and see what you think? I had some bleeding yesterday evening which was very sudden and was fresh, red blood, but it hardly lasted any time - was gone by this morning. Typically I forgot to take my temp this morning so that's no clue, but can you make any sense of it???

Astarte · 26/02/2009 18:26

What cd are you...7dpo?

If tomorrows temp is 36.8 or higher and there is no bleeding, I'd say implantation....tbh it's waaaaaay too early even with shortened LP probs to bleed at 7dpo

I've heard of LP 9/10, but not any earlier than that. So I'll go out on a limb and suggest the possibility of a little spark of hope there for that chart.
Don't forget to take temp tomorrow though because that'll be the crucial one.

ooooh 'citing innit!

Astarte · 26/02/2009 18:40

Just wanted to say I hope your Gran pulls through

LB poo sounds exactly what it should be for a breastfed baby. 2 days is fine for a lack of poofulness btw, he will have absorbed most of his colostrum with very little waste.
3 of mine have passed meconium during birth or just before and all 3 of them didn't poo until day 3!
It is a bit worrying, but if they aren't wasting any food there isn't anything to excrete iyswim.

Day 4/5 will be the worst for feeding as he is getting used to the milk being in and you are doing the same for feeding. Keep putting him to the breast as often as you can during the day which will help to stimulate a good supply and encourage him to take more during the day and a bit less at night.
If the poo starts to look a bit green or frothy then he is getting too much foremilk, but as long as it looks like Korma you're fine

Xanthe is 11days old now and only since yesterday I'd say has she moved to being awake a little more during the day and a bit less so during the night.

I'm now feeding her at 11pm, about 3.30am and then again about 6.30-7am. Before that it was cluster feeding from 8pm-11pm (poor nips) and every 2-3 hours during the night, which is tiring.
The early days are hard, see if you can nap in the afternoon with Ds, if Dh will take Dd out for an hour or two. That may make it a bit easier for you.

Hang on in there, you are doing fab!!!

Diege they're yours.

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 19:08

I shall go and put my thermometer by my bed now so I don't forget, everybody cross their fingers for me please!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 26/02/2009 19:09

Ohsnap, I've pretty incapable of most things right now, but finger crossing I can do, and have been since your earlier post - lurking, just not feeling up to much.
