GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 22/02/2009 09:47

Sorry-

Baby boy at 11.25pm. 8lbs 12oz...

OP posts:
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 22/02/2009 09:55

Very quickly, Ses- could it be braxton hicks?
or even trapped wind? I get the stich pains a lot now when out and about and it really hurts but subsides when I rest. LB said they sounded like her BHs.

Other time much earlier on I think it was trapped wind..

Definately worth mentioning to the MW.

Glad you enjoyed show

Best go or DH will get cross!

bye

Sparklytwinkletoes · 22/02/2009 11:36

Blimey, its taken me ages to catch up from my Friday post!

Congratulations LB and Glask!

Happy - hope you're not too far behind too!!!

What a lovely weekend for the waggoners!

I feel rubbish, which I hope is good. I feel sick and I've got D which is horrible. Am trying to rest and keep fluids up...just hope its not a tummy bug and that if it is, it won't harm the LO.

The only thing is, its the same as with the one I MC, MS, D then nothing...

I'm trying not to worry, which is very hard, and I know understand so much more than I did before. I've always tried to be sympathetic and show empathy as best I can about MC and TTC after MC etc, but its really not till I've experienced it myself that I fully understand how all consuming it can be.

With taking a lot of time to get pg, then mc, the the operation, then family issues, then pg....I feel like I've done a lot of learning in the last year. I hope I'm a better person because of it.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 22/02/2009 13:09

Congrats LB
Looking forward to seeing some lovely piccies of the new wagon babies

Sparkly - I'm sorry you're feeling so rubbish. I know what you mean about that all consuming experience and wish I could make it easier for you. Like you I've also tried to look for some positives from my experiences but it is hard and I do think it's one of those things that you're allowed to say simply that life dealt you a rotten hand. There will also be some positive slant you can find when you look hard enough (mine is googling about mc made me find you lot and MN!) but it doesn't take that shadow of grief away. I will never think of this as my first pregnancy - there will always be space in my heart for the two that died. This pregnancy has been full of worry but it will make this one even more appreciated though when it arrives.
Sorry I've rambled again but - although two people's experience are never exactly the same - I do feel for what you're going through.
The odds really are stacked in your favour though and I hope your sickness is a good sign and niggles away reassuringly without being too awful.

GYo - I had wondered about BH and trapped wind but it was just the fact that it was always in the same place that made me wonder. I've got my next consultant appointment on Tuesday for my thyroid and I get to see the obstetrician as well as the endocrinologist so I'll mention it then as I don't see the MW now until 24th March.

kayzr · 22/02/2009 13:45

STT, I hope you aren't feeling too bad. When I rang the out of hours GP he said there is a countrywide D&V bug going round so you may just have that.

I've rung the out of hours GP again for DS1 as he is really hot and he was just crying unconsolably(sp) but it seems spongeing him down with tepid water and putting on Tom and Jerry seems to have solved the crying. He has had some more calpol. Just waiting for them to ring back.

Oh and always have a spare battery for your thermometer. We've just tried to take DS1's temp and the battery has run out!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 22/02/2009 15:08

hello everyone

Kayz- how is DS1 doing? sounds like he is really poorly...but Im glad tom and jerry cheered him up a bit.. I hope the docs call you soon.

Ses- hope you can get an answer on the pain... hopefully its just ligaments if not BH or wind... I can imagine it would be nice to get some reassurance especially if its keeping you up at night. Glad you enjoyed your birthday trip though (except the bed being hard!)

STT- hope you've just got some early preg symptoms and are feeling better soon. Its definately been a tough year for you.

Tink- hurray for good shopping

Gruff- glad your sister was able to help but sad they've gone now... how exciting to think that next time you see them you will have a baby!

No more updates from LB as yet.

I'm just back from my NCT session which was good... Suffering really badly with SPD today, could barely walk to the car afterwards. Dh told me to sit on sofa and not move, and suggested I cancel the things I've got planned for this week.... soooo frustrating as I just want to do things before the baby comes

GruffaloSoldier · 22/02/2009 16:48

Hey there!

Im just back from NCT class too but just had to congratulate LB on new arrival!Hooray for another wagon baby

Well I have been going to bed far too late having my sister here and babysat til late last night so I am now going for a nap!

Re : Braxton Hicks, does anyone have loads when they are walking around? Thursday walking round Tesco I kept getting BH and they were really uncomfortable. Saturday we went for a walk and again I had to walk really slow or I set them off again. Is this normal for 32 weeks?

kayzr · 22/02/2009 17:04

Hello,

Just got back from hospital. The GP said she doesn't know what is wrong with him but if he keeps up the unconsolable(sp) crying in the next 4 hours to take him to Scarborough hospital for lots of tests. Not quite sure how we are meant to get there as MIL is working at the theatre and mum is out. The GP did say that he will probably sleep alot as he was up most of the night.

Cosmogirl · 22/02/2009 17:35

Hi guys,

Big congrats to LB on her baby boy. This has been a baby-arrival filled thread so far!

SST - hope the D passes soon and it is just something doing the rounds.

GYo - SPD sounds like a nightmare. I have similar thing with the nausea. I want to be up doing stuff etc but finding it so difficult when I just feel sea-sick all day.

Gruff - not sure on BH. I tend to get them mostly at night. At least I think that is what they are. Feels like trapped wind, really tight and like someone is blowing me up with a balloon pump.

Kayz - hope DS1 feels better soon.

Hi to everyone else.

Going to attempt some food now but terrified it won't stay down. Baby has been so active today - must still have loads of room in there, she is kicking prodding and wiggling like crazy. I'm hoping this is her attempting to engage

Starshinetiger · 22/02/2009 19:58

Congrats LB! hope you and family are doing well.
Kayz, sorry DS1 is so ill, hope he gets better soon. i usually find with sickness that 1st 24 hours are worst.
Sorry no time to catch up - mum coming tomorrow and want to have place straight.
STT sorry for sickness. hope it is just a bug. don't think there is anything useful i can say.

kayzr · 22/02/2009 20:35

He is fast asleep now. We think the crying could be caused by nappy rash. It has come on just today probably caused by all the runny nappies he has had. So changing alot and plenty of cream. I feel drained and I don't think I will get any sleep tonight.

Morning Gyo - morning all!

Hooray for a week off

Im definitely going to have a nice chill out today.

Kayz - hope DS is feeling better today.

Thanks Cosmo - they are def Braxton Hicks Im experiencing as my sister confirmed this for me last week.Im going to speak to my mw if they carry on like this.

kayzr · 23/02/2009 09:38

Morning,

DS1 is fine. He is currently running round the kitchen asking for cheese!! He slept all night and DS2 woke up once so we managed to catch up on our sleep.

Glask text me earlier and hopefully she'll be able to hold Ruby for the first time today. I asked her to give Ruby a big wagon cuddle.

Starshinetiger · 23/02/2009 10:08

Kayz - great news about DS1 and about your sleep. how is dh doing now? is he back to being more mobile?

GYo - how is your spd doing today?

Can you ladies give me any tips on birth pools - really need to order one today and am very confused by all the advice? astarte - think you used gentle water - is it very rigid = uncomfortable? the inflatable ones look like they don't regulate temperature of water, or have filters or pumps - has anyone found one that does?

right off to antenatal appt with doc. then need to clean again as mw doing home visit re homebirth today. also mum coming over and then out for meal with work tonight - my mat leave night out combined with another's leaving drinks to go abroad with company and return of our director after 2 months abroad at home 'cos her dad died (very sad).

hoping doc can do something about my wrist as it's still bad 1 week on - maybe then i can get back to normal typing.

"See" you later.

Quick update before going off to pilates and then back to work! 6 weeks left until ML...

Kay - glad DS1 has made a rapid recovery.

Star - hope appointment goes well and GP can do something about your wrist.

Morning GYo and Gruff and any other lurkers too!

Pain went through the day yesterday but reappeared overnight again! Always in the same place! Could be trapped wind so I'm hoping if it is, pilates will help to shift it. If not, I'll mention it to the obstetrician at my appointment tomorrow.

Any news from Happy??

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 23/02/2009 10:17

Hi Star-

Thanks for asking, im still hobbling about. Something caused huge flare up yesterday and Im not sure what as I didnt walk a long way or lift anything... Im just resting a lot this week and hoping it doent get worse. Though I might just go completely crazy at home!

About birthing pools, I have just had this same debate. I was originally going to go with one like Astarte from gentle water but they couldnt get it to me til 5th March which would probably have been fine but I wanted something sooner. So we went with the eco pool in box. We bought the pool, liner, inflate pump, hose connectors, hose and heat cover for about £153 (inc postage)- which is now ours to keep- should we do it again ( ) I did wonder if the inflatables are more comfortable for leaning against the sides - which I assume they have to be. WOuld be good it get view from Ast, who may have used both types.

GOod luck with doctor and MW re homebirth..

Im loving your cleaning devotion. I need to do some today (everything I did last week was undone by DH this weekened when he was tidying up...- how can that be????)
