Diege · 13/03/2009 16:22

Hello! Sorry I've been so rubbish keeping up. Can't wait until maternity leave when I'll be free to mumsnet to heart's content!
Hope meet-up went well...would be good to have a 'national' one at some point, am dying to meet everyone!
Bathroom now finished - dh has bought me some Lush bath things for the new bath as he knows how much I've hated having just a corner one. So a workman free house at last!
Have a strange feeling a wagon baby might be on its way...GYO maybe???

kookykid · 13/03/2009 16:52

So, how was it meeting up in RL, ladies??

Diege - it must be a relief to have a builder-free house. Now all you need is to be on your maternity leave!

I had a MW visit today and got to hear baby's heartbeat. DD was intrigued and kept saying, "My turn!" Lovely MW let my little DD hear her own heart with the doppler. When I'd said goodbye to the MW at the door I went back to the living room to find DD lying on the sofa with her shirt pulled up waiting to hear her baby's heart!!

Diege · 13/03/2009 17:23

Aww KOOKY that's so sweet! Must be lovely to be able to relax and enjoy the pregnancy now.
Am I the only one whose midwife uses a trumpet style device so never get to actually hear heartbeat myself?
Come on girls, tell us how the meet-up went!
(anyone remember ny disastrous one in London with nov 05 ladies?? ).

Astarte · 13/03/2009 17:41

.....might have time tomorrow to catch up.

GruffaloSoldier · 13/03/2009 17:50

Hey everyone!

Meet up went great!Got back 5.15 so had a good three hour natter Def have to organise a national one!

Yay Diege for builder free house! and yes possibly you are the only one with mw who uses trumpet type thing for heartbeat!LOL

Hope evryone else has had a nice afternoon!

Cosmogirl · 13/03/2009 17:57

Evening all,

Glad meet went well. Must be good to put voices and faces to names.

Diege - bathroom sounds great. Lush stuff is so scrummy. The smell of the shop itself is a bit much but the products are fab.

Just had a bath myself and shaved, plucked, scrubbed etc... so if I go into labour tonight will be all ready to greet the doctors and mws! Sod's law I will go into labour when I am at my hairest and smelliest tho!

Cosmogirl · 13/03/2009 17:58

I am definitely feeling we need another wagon baby to arrive soon.....or Playing and Happy to check in with details of their arrivals....

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 13/03/2009 18:12

glad meet up went went well

kk glad mw went well.
when i used angel sounds doppler my dd would lie next to me in the bed and pull her top up 2

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 13/03/2009 18:20

hello

Meet up was fab - lovely to put real faces and names to our funny pseudonyms

KK- thats lovely re your Dd, very cute

Im willing baby Gyo along the best I can but after a night of weirdness its settled down again but who knows could be the calm before the storm!

The threat of my MW doing a S&S next friday should be enough to get me going.

Hello Diege- looking fwd to having more people off on mat leave too for more chances to chat . Oh and I've never seen a MW using a trumpet thing but I do recall my friend being thrown off the MW course at uni as her hearing wasnt up to using the trumpet so they must still use them in training (although that was 14 yrs since I started Uni (wow I feel old!)

DH has jsut come home with some beautiful flowers for me... so exciting to have flowers

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 13/03/2009 18:24

Diege- now Im intrigued, what happened at your meet up??

OP posts:
Starshinetiger · 13/03/2009 18:35

Glad your meet-up went well ladies.
Diege - yes, I remember your Nov05 meet-up story and that worries me slightly, but hope ours would be a success.
Ended up going to Day Assessment Unit this morning - all was fine with baby, seems I am just not lying back and relaxing enough to feel movements, as I felt plenty while I was lying back in DAU - mw was lovely though and agreed it was hard to lie back and relax with a toddler to play with. Feel I wasted their time, but as DH says, that's what they are there for and it was pretty quiet there - even birth pool room was free. (Note to self - Friday mornings obviously a good time to go into labour )
Replacement birth pool is now blown up too and surviving so far.
Feel kind of relaxed and ready for arrival now - done everything I wanted to on mat leave before arrival and tomorrow we can go up to DH's work for the fete and then he's fine with an arrival any time from Sunday onwards (except Mon eve, as he has an important snooker match ) - guaranteed will be another 2 weeks before LO puts an appearance in now !

GruffaloSoldier · 13/03/2009 18:35

yes tell us Diege

kayzr · 13/03/2009 18:39

Hi Glad meet up went well.

Yes Diege, I rememeber that meet up. Did you ever make up with them?

I am exhausted after spending the day in York so having a very early night.

kayzr · 13/03/2009 18:57

Oh yeah. Just remembered something!!!

MIL said to DH that you lot wouldn't talk to me or be my friend if you knew I lived in a council/housing association house. Now I'm pretty sure you all already know that. Also because I've met 2 girls from Dec 08 she said that I obviously borrowed someone else's clothes so I looked good.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 13/03/2009 19:09

I'm home!! (Ok it didn't take all that time as I stopped off at Morrisons for stuff to make spag bol tonight )
DH was home before me and sorting out some shelves I'd said I'd wanted for inside the bottom half of a wardrobe which I asked him to do

Good to see GYo and Gruff this afternoon and will look forward to the next wagon meet up

Kay - your MIL really needs to see a Dr

kookykid · 13/03/2009 20:01

Kay - Your MIL is a proper wind-up merchant, isn't she? What a cow!
I'll be up in Yorkshire to visit my in-laws soon, so maybe we can have our own Oop Norf meet-up in Malton??

I'm off to watch Comic Reflief with a huge box of tissues as it's bound to set me off no end.

Ooh, and I think I felt the baby move, but not certain!

Diege - dying to know what happened at your meet-up! Do tell!

Star - great that all well with bubs and you felt lots of movement.

kayzr · 13/03/2009 20:03

Oooh Kooky that would be brilliant!!!

glaskham · 13/03/2009 20:09

Evening all...

STT- I have an angelsounds doppler, i got it from the same sight that tink did... i found it really good and would reccomend it. I was going to buy an extra, cheap, set of headphones so the DC's could listen at the same time as me as they loved it, but never got time to!! I am going to put it on ebay soon i think as i dont need it any more.

Kayz- will have a look at the pic on FB once i've posted- very intruiged.

Diege- I saw the other day you said your pram had come from M&P, i thought you were wanting to get a bee?? what did you get in the end? and please dont tell me a herbie as i'll be VERY !!

Gruff, GYo & Ses- glad the meet-up went well, we will have to sort a big wagon meet up soon!! Me and Kay keep saying its a shame we all live so far away from each other, I wanna show off my tiny little girl!!

As for us, the health visitor came this afternoon, Ruby hasn't put any weight on since she was discharged from SCBU, she's not lost any though which is a small positive. She also had her eye exam today (only done on prem babies) but she's all fine!! She also went from 9.30pm-3.30am last night!! she normally goes 1.5-2hrs max during the night so i was really shocked when i saw the time!!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 13/03/2009 20:18

Hi Glask
Sounds like Ruby's doing really well.

I've just had a text from a friend of mine due her 2nd on 20th. She's been in hospital with cholestasis poor thing and if he doesn't arrive on time they're going to induce her next week. He's also v big (MW estimated 9lb when she was 37 weeks!)

Our spag bol is bubbling away nicely and looking forward to digging in!

kayzr · 13/03/2009 20:27

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I put an old corset on Ebay and said I would only post it to the UK. So the winning bidder is from bloody Italy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate selling on Ebay and I will never sell anything on there ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
