Hurray for one more day at work Gruff!!!

Aches pains and general uncomfyness seem the norm for late pregnancy but hopefully it will be shortlived for all of us.

LB- sorry for DS being poorly, hope the sling helps.

Ast- has DH come to relieve you yet?

Im considering an evening of labour induction methods.... anyone had success with the oral method of absorbing the prostaglandins? ?

Off to investigate the fridge for dinner.

Wow! You guys have been busy again today.

IDOB - at your mum! Lots of women start to feel better around now, so try not to worry. Being tired is still a really good sign.

Kay - at your MIL. Unbelievable - what does she hope to achieve by her behaviour I wonder? Bizarre!

Glask - great news about Ruby - it must be amazing to have her home.

LB - poor DS. I have no advice really, but wanted to say I'm thinking of you.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

RE the dreams everyone's been having - do you reckon it could be because it's a full moon??!

I've had a great day - realise now how much tension I've been carrying around - am also very very tired after all the emotional upheaval. Eveyone at work was so pleased for me and even parents' evening went well. Am off to bed now though.

kayzr · 10/03/2009 21:31

Ooooh maybe Kooky. I did dream last night that DS1 woke up and had grown thick black hair over his body.

Maybe he is a werewolf.

kookykid · 10/03/2009 21:32

Kay!

night!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 10/03/2009 22:06

Astarte · 10/03/2009 23:07

LB, hope your ds is a bit more settled tonight x

Wow, bargain Kayz! how's the weight loss coming along? LOL re: ds being a werewolf, very funny :D

Is Glask home with Ruby yet?

Ah wriggling foetuses, sore ribs, nightime pee'ing.....I don't miss it AT ALL!! hehe x

GYo how can you wonder what is for dinner after debating oral induction?

Ooh Gruff, yay for impending M/L enjoy every second

Astarte · 10/03/2009 23:09

must read properly....

Congratulations on Ruby coming home, you must be thrilled

off to bed now...night.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 11/03/2009 06:23

Morning everyone
Awake super early today... had a really odd night of aches and pains but they seem to have gone now that its morning.

KK- so glad you are feeling so relieved and relaxed now.

Mother coming today to inspect the birthing pool. I just hope she can keep her anxiety to herself about it, she isnt very good at being enthusiastic about anything and impending babies seems to be the hardest thing for her to find exciting it seems- its all worry worry worry...

Right going to sip my tea and check my email.

Back laters

Morning,

Astarte, it's not going too bad. I lost loads last week because I was ill but have put a bit back on which I was expecting. I'm going to see about getting a bike as the shop does a good deal. I'm hoping to be a size 10 again by the end of the year.

I can not remember what I was going to say. There was something.

tinkislittlemissshopping · 11/03/2009 08:20

morning

Cosmogirl · 11/03/2009 08:22

Morning,

My due date is here! Well, the date I worked out from first fetal movements anyway. Not feeling like anything is going to happen though ........

So did you try the oral ingestion of prostagladins last night GYo...? I'd say it is worth a shot (if you pardon the pun....)
That, or you could eat seven pineapples in a row (yack).

Hope goes ok with your mum. My parents are coming to visit tomorrow and taking me out for lunch.

lardybump · 11/03/2009 08:24

I have had no sleep again!!!!!! DS is full of cold and has been upset most of the night... At least he was not screaming last night just crying!!! He is asleep now the sun (and dd) are up though surprise surprise.....

Still it is a good job he is so gorgeous or he might find himself out on his ear.....

I am just so pleased that he has not been so sick because it means it cant be reflux as i first feared....

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 11/03/2009 08:31

Morning all-

Cosmo, still lots of hours left in the day keeping my fingers crossed for you

oral labour induction mission completed but no effects as yet though I did have a very disturbed night. Might try again tonight in the more orthodox method but SPD is making such things rather tricky!

Bad news about no sleep LB, but good its prob not reflux. Hope you can rest during the day.

Just looking for jobs for DH and there is a job going as a taxi driver on the Isle of Lewis!! Brilliant, I'd love it!!

Astarte · 11/03/2009 08:46

I am looking for a cleaner, does anyone have one and how do I go about employing one?
Thought I'd pay someone local cash-in-hand, but I don't know anyone locally to me who has a cleaner for a recommendation, so I'm a bit stuck.
What does a cleaner normally manage to get done?

Diege · 11/03/2009 09:19

Morning! GYO, all I can say is that you must be desperate to get that baby out . Hoping it works for you anyway annd you don't have to put in a repeat performance!
ASARTE, we had a cleaner a while ago but gave up on the idea in the end as 1. all she seemed to do was shift around piles of stuff and not actually do much cleaning, and 2. it was in the same state a day after she's been. May well try again with someone new though, but make sure I do lists of things (bed changing etc)rather than just specify general 'cleaning'.
Have to dash to teach now, but morning to all and will catch up later x

lardybump · 11/03/2009 09:48

Astarte I would love to have a cleaner but alas would not be aloud...... I am busy ironing here, really must get this house back in order!!! It is my third day of going solo and the first that i have actually not gone out so beter get something done.......

I can not belive dd is going to be two in two weeks time..... my baby is so grown up!!!!

ohsnap · 11/03/2009 09:50

Morning,

Sorry you had another sleepless night LB but it does sound as though things are improving slightly? Maybe once he's over his cold things'll settle down properly for you all. Did you try the sling last night?

I had a busy day yesterday, mum's been really busy visiting Granny in hospital (she's much better though and should be home in a few days!) and she's had no time to do any housework so I popped round with the DDs yesterday while she was out and did some cleaning. I left this note (along with a chocolate wrapper):

In came the Brownies, 1, 2, 3,
They cleaned your toilets of germs and wee,
They hoovered the floors and dusted (quickly),
While you visited Granny in hospital (sickly).

P.S. Did you know Brownies live in lairs?
And they sometimes eat your chocolate eclairs!

ohsnap · 11/03/2009 09:51

I'd love a cleaner too but I don't think we could justify the expense and I wouldn't feel right MNing while someone else cleaned my house

Sparklytwinkletoes · 11/03/2009 09:54

Morning all, incredibly paranoid here, its getting to the same stage in this pg as I got to when I think the last one ended. Also the due date of the last one is coming up very quickly too (17th March).

My next scan is booked on 31st March and it can't come soon enough.

I had bad cramps yesterday and D again, but that all seems to be back to normal today. I really don't feel sick, my boobs don't seem sensitive, i'm not so tired and my appetite has faded away - I'm just so worried that its happening all over again.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 11/03/2009 10:11

Morning

Sparkly - sorry for your anxieties. It would be strange if you weren't worried though and the odds really are in your favour. You are at that awful stage where symptoms can start to tail off for all good reasons and yet you're still waiting for that reassuring scan. I'm keeping everything crossed for you and coming your way.

Astarte - I had a cleaner for a few years recommended to me by my SIL. She was a lovely lady and I thought quite a bargain. I paid her £20 for 2hrs but she always did more than that to get everything done as she often did my ironing too! She just ended up not being v reliable and she broke a couple of things too - including a lamp that was a wedding present that we replaced and then she broke again!! I'm not going to be able to justify a cleaner to DH whilst I'm off on ML but then you're in the position of having 4 DC which is a totally different situation...
There's also a company called Molly Maid (not sure if they're local or national) that I enquired with once but when they came round to talk about it, it felt like they were interviewing me rather than the other way round!!

OhSnap - love your little note you left for your Mum and I bet she really appreciated the brownies helping her out!!

Morning everyone else too

Right, I have a day's holiday from work today (yay!) and haven't had my breakfast yet. I might do a pan of porridge - any extra for anyone??

tinkislittlemissshopping · 11/03/2009 10:23

hi

really hoping to see mj

gyo ye for due date not long now
ss - try not to worry i am sure al will be fine
os what a lovely thing 2 do

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 11/03/2009 10:28

Morning again... well it is for me as I went back to sleep on the sofa - unfortunately after a bowl of porridge so I've now got horrendous acid burn

Astarte- We've had two cleaning companies and it was fab and really helped. We were able to be really specific about what she did and it included ironing DH's shirts. I think we had her once a week (there was only 2 of us in small house working full time so never there) and she'd do kitchen/ bathroom and lounge every week and then the upstairs floors every other week.

Second company much the same- but we then moved and never got one at this house, though will need to when I go back to work.

The only thing I'd say is they tend to start off great but will reduce quality/ efficiency over time if not checked etc. It will be better for you if you are there to talk to them face to face rather than communicating via notes etc.

OS- brownies sound fab, what a lovely thing to do. How is your granny doing?

Diege- LOL about being keen to get it out now, will hope last night's efforts catch up with me later (AFTER mother has gone!!) gosh, Im hopeful!

Morning Ses

Hi STT- hope that the scan date will come around quickly for you... think being anxious must be perfectly normal as Ses said.
Look after yourself.

OP posts:
lastboxoftampons · 11/03/2009 11:02

Hello everyone!

GYO - methinks you've ingested your prostagladins in the wrong end! I'd rather eat the pineapple myself!

STT - I know, it's so hard. Try to think positively and not overanalyze your symptoms or lack of. As Ses says, the odds are with you. Take care of yourself, I'll be thinking of you!

Glask - must be wonderful having Ruby home - congratulations!!!

OS - what a sweet note, did she respond?

Sorry about another sleeless night LB I don't know what to suggest, but I hope your LO is feeling better soon.

No cleaner suggestions here, unfortunately. Actually, DH and I are a pretty good team when it comes to cleaning - I'm very picky about the bathroom and he is more concerned about the kitchen. The bedroom's always a mess, but hey ho! I'm sure it might all fall apart once the baby comes - I guess we'll see!

I've been having a really good clear out of old clothes and stuff thsi past week in preparation for some furniture moving. Will be really nice when it's all finished! I'm sure by the time I get around to nesting it'll all need to be done again!

Cosmogirl · 11/03/2009 11:24

Also morning again here! Like you GYo I went back to bed after breakfast....not sure if I feel any better for it or not. Trying not to get to down about nothing happening as really had hoped today would be the day. I blame MN as this was where I found the info about adding a certain number of days to the first movement you felt and it came out with the eleventh March. Baby clearly doesn't agree.

Going to do some more cleaning as everything is a tip again. No advice on cleaners from this end I'm afraid..

SST - hope your scan date comes around really fast. It must be awful having to wait and it is completely natural to have these worries.

OH - glad to hear your Gran is doing better.
Hi to everyone else.
Right - cleaning must commence..
