That's fantastic news Kooky!!!
I've just arrived home and logged straight on to check your news. I'm so so pleased for you (and Mr Kooky) - and a boy too, congratulations!

Kayz - can't believe your MIL . Does she think working for less money is a better option than spending some time as a family until your DH finds a job? I have a very difficult relationship with my witch of a MIL and I'm not looking forward to telling her our news.

STT - for feeling rubbish and for horrible dreams. I keep dreaming that I have twins and keep losing one! They sound funny but are really disturbing at the time. Not as bad as having your hair fall out though - I think that would really freak me!

Star - for poor DS. My DB was a proper little monkey as a toddler and no number of falls, bumps and bashes made him quit climbing. It doesn't seem to have done any permenant damage if that helps .

Gruff - yah for ML soon!

Well I'm still counting down the days until my 12 week scan (13.5 days to go!). The time is dragging. My symptoms have mostly disappeared over the last week or 2 - although I'm still exhausted - which is a bit worrying. I'll be glad to see a healthy little bean at my scan. My mum is lovely but the most tactless person alive and doesn't think before she speaks. I told her I was worrying a bit about feeling better and was scared I would go to the scan and find out the LO hadn't developed properly and her response was "yes, that happened with my first pregnancy, I didn't know anything was wrong till the scan and was told the baby had died, it was so awful, its just the worst thing you can imagine and it's more common than you think". Very helpful !

kayzr · 09/03/2009 21:47

IDOB, That is a bit tactless of your mum. I have been there and she is right, but she could have worded it better. Both my 12 week scans have scared me so much as there is always this niggling thing at the back of my mind. I have always thought he was a boy and he would be 5 this September. My little boy was alive but he hadn't formed properly. I had considered having a termination as I was only 16 but decided I wanted to keep the baby. I sometimes think it was karma. I had thought about killing him so he didn't form properly.

Luckily it wasn't anything genetic, just one of those things so it shouldn't happen again.

Star, just thought your DS could be like my uncle. When he was 3 he rode a ride-on bus down the stairs and through the closed glass front door!!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 09/03/2009 21:47

IDOB - evening, your mother sounds very helpful indeed although she probably meant it in the best way

You're not far off 12 weeks which is when many people start to feel better anyway, any chance of you being further along than you think?

kayzr · 09/03/2009 21:50

I just can not type!!

He would have been 7 this year. Might help if I got rid of the laptop as DS1 had pulled off loads of keys.

idreamofbeanie · 09/03/2009 22:03

Thanks STT and Kayz - she really doesn't mean to upset me she just doesn't realise what she is saying until it's already out then she's sorry. I know I'm near the 12 week mark and most of the time I feel really positive, just have the odd worried moment when I'm in on my own and feeling surprisingly healthy. It all seems too good to be true really. It's good to be able to come on here and know someone will understand my crazy little panics. Not long to wait till my scan and I'll feel much better after that. Sorry for moaning!

Kayz - I'm so sorry for all you went through and when you were so young as well. I'm sure you know deep down that its totally natural to have mixed feelings about an unplanned (or planned) pregnancy and it's not your fault the baby didn't develop but I really feel for you. It's so easy to feel guilty - even though I really want this baby I've had 2nd (and 3rd and 4th) thoughts about it and worried I'm not ready or won't make a good mum and maybe it wasn't a good idea but I feel bad for feeling that way.

kayzr · 09/03/2009 22:08

Oh of course it is so natural to have mixed feelings. I did with DS2 more than DS1 though as I was so worried about DS1 feeling left out.

I think the shock of being PG at 16 caused me a lot of stress which I sometime wonder if it contributed at all. I was on the pill and we used a condom that split. So it was a huge shock because we thought we were covered by being on the pill.

idreamofbeanie · 09/03/2009 22:23

That's really hard Kayz, I don't know how I would have coped at that age (although it would have been a miracle pregnancy - I was a late developer! ).

Well off to bed, this is very late for me these days . Night night.

kayzr · 09/03/2009 22:26

I think I might join you(well not join you IYSWIM) and go to bed too.

Another huge congrats to Kooky.

Night.

kayzr · 10/03/2009 07:41

Morning,

Just to let you all know that Glask brought Ruby home yesterday!!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 10/03/2009 08:04

Morning Kay!
Thanks - that's fantastic news
Welcome home Ruby and congrats Glask!

kayzr · 10/03/2009 08:09

DH just told me that MIL says I am making up going to New York with my school. She said that schools do trips to France not New York. Apparently because DH went to Switzerland I decided to try and show him up by lying about NY. Yeah I made it all up, I bought all the pictures I took and stuff I bought off Ebay

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 10/03/2009 08:24

What???!!! I hope your DH has calmly told her she's BVU and needs to take it back. Either that or he needs to talk to her. Don't know how much good it will do but she needs to know he won't allow her to get away with her stupid digs. I guess the only alternative is that she's attention seeking in which case the best thing may be to try and ignore her (not easy).
I wouldn't know whether to laugh at her or be v angry or maybe a bit of both...

kayzr · 10/03/2009 08:29

I often don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Just told one of my friends who also came on the trip and said I should ask MIL if 40 students and 3 teachers also made it up.

I generally ignore her most of the time. It's when she tells people I can't cope with the boys, that's when it gets to me. She knows one of the HV's and she tells her I don't cope. So the HV rings and asks if I need help as MIL said I was struggling. DH went mad at MIL that day.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 10/03/2009 08:34

V sad she hasn't better things to do with her life than try and paint you in a bad light...

Right I must get up (posting via phone in bed!!) and get down to Brighton. Baby just started doing somersaults so would be nice to lie here a bit longer...

Morning all

Kayz- Im shocked at your MIL I really feel for you having someone like that in your life (had a similar ex MIL some years ago). Hope you can ignore her despite it being rather annoying.

KK- hope you are still smiling

Hi everyone, STT good to hear you are feeling pants but good to have symptoms!

IDOB- sorry you are still waiting for that scan date... seems a long long road but it will arrive soon.

Having another NCT coffee this afternoon cant wait to get out and see all the lovely ladies.

OP posts:
Cosmogirl · 10/03/2009 11:44

Morning,

Hope you had a good night celebrating Kooky. Still smiling for you .

Gruff - yey for Mat Leave nearly starting - not long now.

Kayz - grr at mean MIL.....She sounds like a real pain in the bum.

Thanks for everyone who has joined my syndicate and put lovely early guesses. Hopefully baby will take note....

Nothing much to report here. 37 weeks today so full term which is good. Just been watching prog from last night about women addicted to surrogacy. Oh my goodness, clearly these women don't have any of the pregnancy problems like sickness, SPD etc... Personally couldn't think of anything worse than being prego as my job.

Glad to hear Ruby is home now - that's great news.

Sorry to anyone I've missed. Brain is slowly but surely turning to mush I think...

ohsnap · 10/03/2009 11:45

Must've been something in the air last night for dreams, I woke up at 3am feeling really scared, I'd had a very real dream about being chased by carnivorous monkey-faced men with axes I kept trying to fight them off while they chopped at me. I often seem to have dreams where there's something bad trying to get in and I'm trying to lock the door but the lock doesn't work, I wonder what that means.....

Kayz, your MIL is a loon! I moan about mine turning up unannounced sometimes, but blimey I wouldn't swap her for yours!!

Hooray for Ruby coming home, hope all's going well.

GYO, sounds like you've made a good group of freinds there with NCT. Have the classes finished now?
COSMO, saw the surrgaacy programme too (though the russian woman very odd). Agree, they must all have relatively easy pregnancies!.
OHSNAP, dream sounds awful! A bit like those flying monkeys from wizard of oz!
Right, student due at 12 so better get my e-mail page back up

ohsnap · 10/03/2009 12:01

Argh Diege, I was terrified of those monkeys! [shudder]
