Kooky - was thinking of you and really glad that you had such a good consultant and they didn't keep you waiting.

Diege - sounds ridiculous that that's the only board to get with the bee so can understand your change of heart.

LBOT / Cosmo - we've gone for the new Britax and hope to pick it up next week. They had both at Babybarn and the new one looked a little larger in space for the baby and because it went flat we only needed the car seat and not the carrycot as well. It was £100 more than the old model but we saved on the carrycot. Hadn't noticed about the foot rest so hope that's ok.... Will update you when I've got it (hopefully Wednesday!)

I could bore you with a back update but it's just no better really and lower back hurting after the drive today. I have my hotwater bottle on my shoulder at the moment and hoping for a better night.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 05/03/2009 19:17

Hello all
Back from my day of coffee and visits. Lovely to get out i have to say.

KK- glad the CVS went ok and you are feeling calmer. Hope the results are with you soon. Your mum sounds fab, no wonder you cant wait to see her

Diege- buggy board thing is crazy, so sounds like change of pram is good choice.
Did MW say anything about your breathlessness etc?

Ses- sorry to hear about your back pains. It must be really miserable. I saw an osteopathist who was very good. I'd recommend it if you are considering any treatment.

2 of our 7 NCT grp babies have arrived early now so Im hoping it might be catching

evening all sorry I have not been on but really finding it tough at the moment. DS is feeding every hour and I am so tired and fed up, gave him a dummy today and feel really bad about it..... MIL and DP say I need to top up with formula but I really dont want to!!!!

DS has a cold so is being sick again and dd has an ear infection... i am painting a red cross on the front door tomorrow..

To add to it all I my stitches are infected. They are not disolving and have become nasty. MW has taken some out but will be having the rest removed tomorrow.... Oh the joy.....

Anyway enough about me how is everyone else doing. Dont have time to catch up with the weeks news so if anyone has the time to fill me in that would be great...

kayzr · 06/03/2009 07:09

Morning,

KK, Glad CVS went well. I'm happy you are feeling calm about it now. I'll keep everything crossed for you. I really hope the weekend goes quickly for you.

LB, Sorry you are finding it tough. Please Please don't top up with formula unless it is what YOU really want. I didn't want to but MW threatened us with taking DS2 into hospital so we gave him the top ups. Once they are used to the bottle and how much easier the milk comes out, they become reluctant to BF. 12 weeks later and it is still hard sometimes giving him a bottle.

DS2 is 12 weeks old, can you believe it???

Mum dyed my hair last night. I'm not sure if I really like it but DH says it looks good.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 06/03/2009 08:18

Morning

Kay - 12 weeks ???!!!
Where did that time go????!!!
Can you post us some more up to date piccies at some point?

LB - good to hear from you. It sounds like you've got a lot to deal with at the moment. Hope your stitches heal up and infection goes quickly.

I had another poor night's sleep last night and resorted to the spare room at about midnight so that I could try and get comfy and stretch without disturbing DH. This morning my lower back is much better but still having problems with my right shoulder so I have arranged to work from home today so that I don't have to do the driving I was meant to.

Also thought I was getting a migraine last night as my vision went blurry exactly like it does when I get a migraine (which is very rare). As usual, my vision was back to normal within half an hour but the anticipated headache never appeared. I know blurred vision can be a symptom of PE but I don't have any other PE symptoms and it did only last 30 mins so I think I'm ok.

It could have been stress affected as along with everything else, one of my colleagues at work has done something stupid which is classified as gross misconduct (can't go into details). He has been suspended pending a disciplinary interview which could lead to his dismissal. I've been approached about being his representative at that interview next week. Even though he's been really silly and there is an element of dishonesty, I feel for him. He's been under lots of stress at home and I really hope he gets away with a final written warning and demotion.

Hence I think I day working from home today will be the right thing.

Better go check some emails...

Cosmogirl · 06/03/2009 08:25

Morning,

LB - sorry you are having a rough week. Hope things improve for you. As Kayz says, don't feel pushed into the formula thing if it isn't what you want. Not much to report I don't think, except we think Playing has popped, but she hasn't checked in, so no official news yet.

KK - glad yesterday is over for you and another wishing for a speedy weekend for you so you can get the results. Make sure you get plenty of rest and relaxation time.

Ses - ouch, back thing sounds nasty. Think it is a good idea to work from home today. All that driving must be taking its toll.

I have my 36 week check at 9 am so will check back in later this morning to let you know how it went.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 06/03/2009 08:35

Morning Cosmo! Hope 36 week check goes well.

kayzr · 06/03/2009 08:45

Ses, thank you for reminding me. I took so pics of DS2 before our camera broke. Just added them to my profile!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 06/03/2009 08:51

Wow Kay!! He looks gorgeous!!! Makes me think we really should do a wagon meet up with babies. Now that would be a bit chaotic! Or maybe that old wagon word - hectotic??!!

kayzr · 06/03/2009 08:52

Thanks. He has just started staring at his hands like they are about to do something wonderful.

We really should meet up, it would be great.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 06/03/2009 09:43

Morning All

Ses- sounds like a bad situation. Hope you are ok, sounds like good to work at home. Roll on that maternity leave!

LB- sorry things are tough, hope they improve soon and the stitch removal isnt too bad.

Kayz- DS2 is 12wks!! wow thats amazing, time really flies

Cosmo- good luck with the 36wk check.

I am due my 38.5wk check and delivery of HBirth kit but the MW just called to say she is attending another homebirth so might not see her.

Was awake at 3am til 6 for no real reason, felt really odd and wondered if it was some kind of labour but baby still inside me this morning...

Hi everyone else.

OP posts:
Cosmogirl · 06/03/2009 09:51

Hi, back from check. As ever feel like I didn't find anything out. Apparently baby is 4 lbs ....but I'm measuring 35 cm. That sounds small to me considering Ruby was 4 lbs at 32 weeks... Head is in the brim of the pelvis but not engaged much (she said about 1/5 when we pressed her for it). I just feel like I come from these appts none the wiser. I suppose at the end of the day the baby will come when it is ready and no amount of MW opinion/comment will make a difference...

Sorry for bad night GYo. I didn't sleep too well either and my right jaw is really sore - has been last two days - it is really annoying me.

Cosmogirl · 06/03/2009 09:53

Aww cute pics of Dylan Kayz

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 06/03/2009 09:56

Hi Cosmo. Sorry to hear the MW appt wasnt very helpful.

Think we should spend day with our feet up on wagon sofa having a rest.

Im watching homebirth diaries on tele... not sure if its a good idea or not...!

GruffaloSoldier · 06/03/2009 09:59

Morning all

Day off today - wahoo!and I am going to do absolutely nothing and only 3 more working days until maternity leave - wahoo!or 21 working hours

Have my 34 week mw apt today and am having bloods and r neg jab too. Hope they dont do them at same time like last time!

Didnt sleep great last night either but was somewhat self inflicted as I decided that I needed a nap at 8.30pm and woke up at 10pm oops!

Sorry that your apt wasn't what you were expecting Cosmo, but if they were worried they would have said something surely?

Sorry that your back etc is still playing up Ses - I have back pain every night and can never find a good position to sleep in (as of last week) and it really is miserable.

Hi Gyo - sorry for not sleeping - hope mw makes it to you so you can get your HB pack, how exciting!

Hello to anyone Ive missed!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 06/03/2009 10:01

Hi Gruff! Hurray for day off. Join me and Cosmo on the wagon sofa for some serious couch potato-ing!

OP posts:
Cosmogirl · 06/03/2009 10:05

Yep, join us Gruff - tis very comfy here

Yeah, I'm just being a moaner I think. Basically I wanted her to tell me the baby was 6 and a half pounds, fully engaged and will be born next Wednesday and because she didn't say any of that I am grumpy. Tis silly I know - I just don't want to be pregnant anymore.......

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 06/03/2009 10:10

Hello Gruff! I'm going to squeeze on to the couch potato sofa too (obviously with my laptop so I can do some work...)
I've just phoned my Mum to see if she'll look in town for me for one of those microwave packs you suggested. She said she has one!!! She's going to bring it round later

Cosmo - I do wonder about the MW appointments sometimes. I think the only thing they do that is clear is the BP check and urine sample check. The rest is all a bit vague and nice to do but never seems to tell anyone anything definite. (Just IMHO!!)

GYo - seems like we could all do afternoon nap on the sofa after our lack of sleep. Out of interest, in what way were you feeling strange last night? Was it anything specific or a feeling?

Baby seems to have a foot under my ribs this morning. I remember wondering when that would happen a few weeks ago so I'm not moaning...

GruffaloSoldier · 06/03/2009 10:10

Well ok if you insist I might have a little snooze, just prod me if any brownies come round, actually I'll probably smell them

Cosmo I can totally sympathise - I am getting so impatient and Ive still got 6 weeks! I have been measuring big for some time too so I have other worries - like having the horrendous births that my sister had. Grr!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 06/03/2009 10:12

I've totally reverted on bump size, Gruff. A month ago I had loads of people telling me I looked huge and now I've got lots of people saying I look "v neat" and one person even said they might not have noticed I was pg!!!
I'm trying not to get obsessed with that or with my weight but think I've put on just over 1.5 stone so far... Hoping I don't find it too hard to lose it afterwards.

Diege · 06/03/2009 10:12

Morning! Gorgeous piccies KAYZ, and like the cocoon too...did that come with your pram??
LB, sounds tough . I don't think dummies themselves are bad, in fact I was recommended them when bf dd1 to try when I'd just fed her and she was still screaming 10 mins later. More often than not she would have a quick suck on the dummy then fall asleep (very much pre-Gina days . Agree with Kayz that formula top ups must be your decision...and good luck with stitches, ouch!!
GYO, I mentioned breathlessness to midwife and she said if I was concerned I should make an appointment with the gp ; she thinks it's just baby pressing on organs etc, so obviously not that concerned (didn't even write it in notes ). I'm just concerned because the last times it didn;t start until later, but maybe it's a 4th baby thing...Hope you're not too tired today with early waking!
Right, better try and sort out how to put Dyson together...then I'm ordering my pram at last!

Diege · 06/03/2009 10:14

Ooh SES meant to say hello!! Good idea working from home - def no driving for you!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 06/03/2009 10:16

Hi Diege
Good luck with Dyson and yay for pram shopping!!

GruffaloSoldier · 06/03/2009 10:20

hey ses - baby was almost off the scale at 20 wks on all measurements. im measuring 2 weeks sometimes 3 weeks ahead. my sis had 9lber then 10 lber, wouldnt even get through pelvis (we are small - 5 ft 3, size 10) DH was 9lb and early, they said they would be surprised if baby wasnt big. although im ever hopeful chances are i'll be induced, have ben told i wont be allowed to go over. im asking for a growth scan today as previously promised

GruffaloSoldier · 06/03/2009 10:23

i have had people think i was due next week!

alo had loads of painful braxton hicks and period type cramps

problem was my dating was done by scan as didnt have LMP to go by so I could be a couple of weeks out on dates! thats what does my head in not knowing.
