Morning,

First day of maternity leave! Can't believe I am up this early.....

Glask - I think the way you are feeling is completely understandable. Sounds like you are doing amazingly well considering what you have had to go through. I have said more than once that I wish the baby would arrive early, but in reality, having to be separated etc...and go through what you are, is not the easy option and you are doing a great job.

Wonder if HappyNappies is still waiting or has had her baby?

Hope all is going well for Playing too - two new wagon babies could already have arrived - so exciting!

LB - glad to hear your update and that things are progressing well with DS.

Gruff - yep, there is no fighting it - we are getting closer and closer to the top of that list!! Makes me happy and nervous at the same time.

Right, I better go and start some of my chores. I figure if I get as much done this week as I can, I can sit back and chill out for the rest of the time.

idreamofbeanie · 02/03/2009 09:50

Morning all, this thread has been busy over the weekend!

Cosmo - hooray for ML! Are you planning some lovely relaxing time at home?

Glask - obviously I have no idea how it feels to be in your position so I can only imagine how difficult it is for you at the moment. You are doing amazingly well with everything that is going on and it sounds like Ruby is thriving on all that care you are giving. Just to say my mum was in hospital for a while after having my brother and was worried about how I would cope (I was 2) but it was fine. I got to spend a bit more time with my dad and grandparents and although I missed my mum being there all the time I coped fine. Don't worry too much about your other DCs - they are really resilient and will adapt to things not being quite normal for a while.

LB - glad things are going well for you and DS.

OS - sorry for AF.

Sorry - that's all I can remember just now . Who says pregnancy ruins your memory!

We had a lovely weekend at SILs. It was really hard not to tell her I'm pregnant but DP really wants to wait until after the scan so I restrained myself. Feeling really well these days (sorry Cosmo), only a little nausea if I go too long between meals and still tired but not totally exhausted like I was before. Everything seemed to ease after the 9 week mark - I was a bit worried about it but have decided to be positive and just enjoy feeling more human! Boobs still very sore so haven't lost all my symptoms.

idreamofbeanie · 02/03/2009 10:10

Oh - meant to say I've also been having some really weird dreams! I dreamt last night that I'd had twins and I kept putting them down and forgetting where I had put them. I'd be holding one baby and someone would visit and ask where the other baby was and I couldn't remember. I'd find them in the laundry basket or behind the sofa. When the HV came I couldn't remember if I'd fed or changed the babies that day. It sounds funny but I woke up quite upset.

I guess I'm just worrying about whether or not I'll be a good mum (although I'm fairly sure I won't lose my baby down the back of the sofa! ). Did anyone else have these strange dreams?

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 02/03/2009 10:25

Morning! Quick post before heading off to pilates and then off to a meeting in Maidstone this afternoon! (LB - will wave at you!)

IDOB - dreams are one of the more interesting effects of being pg... Think we've all had a variety of funny and scary ones.

Tink - like the new list

Cosmo - yay for ML!! Relax and pamper yourself with plenty of sofa time

Kay - sounds like things have settled down. Any more thoughts on a home business?

Morning everyone else!

kayzr · 02/03/2009 10:57

Ses, we are tempted but it's the initial(sp) outlay that is the problem. Banks aren't all that keen on lending atm. So it's on hold for now.

tinkislittlemissshopping · 02/03/2009 13:40

tinkislittlemissshopping · 02/03/2009 13:57

have found this one now it is so cute

www.twoleftfeet.co.uk/Graco_Baby_Delight_Firecracker.html

Astarte · 02/03/2009 14:50

don't order anything from 2leftfeet Tink.
They are notorious for being problematic and doing off with money. MN is full of posts complaining about them.

Congratulations BB glad to see you over here

GYo have responded on FB.

Both HV and M/w arrived at the same time today so have had hands full. Day not going so bad, but 4pm will be killer time I think.

Hope everyone is okay I just wanted to pop in for BB...baby needs feeding now.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 02/03/2009 19:23

Hi! Quiet on here today - where are you all??!!

Astarte - great to have that feedback about that website. Hope you got through your busy day ok.

BB - still here for you!

tink - not sure about your shopping as with £14 postage on ebay you won't save that much on a new one...

Hope everyone has a good evening.

tinkislittlemissshopping · 03/03/2009 07:59

kayzr · 03/03/2009 08:57

Morning,

We had another good night here. DS1 has been sleeping through the last few nights and DS2 just wakes once.

We've decided to go on the pullman diner train for our anniversary in July. We've been wanting to do it for ages and last year it was fully booked so we booked it yesterday to be sure we're going.
Only thing is I guess it is black tie dress code and I have no idea what I will wear. I'd love a maxi dress but I can see getting on a train being a bit hard.

Hope you are all ok.

Playing, hope everything went well on Sunday.

Cosmogirl · 03/03/2009 10:23

Morning,

Gosh it is so quiet on here.....is everyone off either having babies or taking care of them?

Bit fed up this morning. Feel enormous and cumbersome and struggling with the simplest of tasks. Sat down in the shower this morning to attempt to shave my legs and could barely get up again.....

Really quite ready to have this baby now methinks. 36 weeks today!

Tink - good news on no more maternity clothes. I'm looking forward to having more choice of what to wear again.

Kayz - yey for good night's sleep. Must feel satisfying.

idreamofbeanie · 03/03/2009 11:33

Cosmo - sorry you are having a rough morning , you really have had a difficult time being pregnant haven't you. Not long to go now though (I'm sure it feels like ages, my scan is only 3 weeks away but it feels like an age). It'll all be worth it once you have your LO in your arms. I have my fingers crossed for an early arrival for you.

Kayz - yah for pullman trip. It sounds fab!

Tink - hooray for the end of maternity wear. Now you another reason to shop .

DP and I have a week off work in April and I am trying to decide what we should do. We are trying to be fairly sensible in case dp is made redundant (he works for a bank) so we will probably go camping. I fancy Cornwall as I've never been but as one of the weekends is a bank hol the travel might be a nightmare. We could go to lakes again but fancy a change and we could go to scotland and meet some friends and family but again I fancy a change and in Edinburgh we finish up just hanging around having coffee with mates rather than getting out and about. Any suggestions?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/03/2009 12:36

Morning everyone
Thank you everyone who replied to me on FB. Your advice is the best solid helpful advice I?ve had in ages- thank you so much

Cosmo- Im sorry you are feeling a bit fed up. Reckon these weeks are hardest of all. I remember Nat saying that to me at the start of pregnancy ? now I know its true. Have you got any plans with friends for the next couple of weeks before the baby comes? Shame we aren?t all a bit closer for a bigger coffee meet up.

Tink- wow 6 wk check already! Hurray for being out of your maternity wear too. I was just wondering what I will wear after the birth before I can get back in my usual jeans etc..

Kayz- Pullman trip sounds fantastic...I?ve heard from people who have done it that its lovely thing to do. Where does train go to? Reckon a maxi dress will be fine, just have to get DH to help you onto the train.  Also hurray for sleeping going ok.

Astarte- how are you doing now DH is back at work? Do your older DCs like to help with Xanthe?

Two left feet was on watchdog last night- didn?t see the story but assume it was bad press as Astarte mentioned.

Hello everyone else

Hi IDOB

Sorry didnt respond to you... Camping sounds good fun. There is some beautiful scenery in north Wales that tends to get overlooked a bit. Also I've heard that the the North East coast is lovely too (I think that you can do trips to see seals etc ) Im sure some others will have some input.

The train goes from Grosment to Battersby. This is the website. It's quite cool having a steam railway on the doorstep. DS1 loves it.

IDOB, I agree with Cornwall as I love it there. But the north east coast is gorgeous. Especially around Whitby and Robin Hood's bay. Plus you are near me the North York Moors.

idreamofbeanie · 03/03/2009 13:47

Cheers Kayz,

I think we will finish up in Cornwall to be honest. I have been saying that I want to go for ages so it's about time we braved the drive, DP and I are worse than kids for hating being cooped up in the car. The north york moors are lovely but we think we will do some walking there on long weekends and we had a long weekend at Robin Hood Bay last year. How close to York are you?

The train trip looks fantastic! My 2 year old cousin loves watching steam trains so I'll have to remember that website when they come to visit.

kayzr · 03/03/2009 13:50

About 25 miles away. We're about half way between York and Whitby in Pickering.

idreamofbeanie · 03/03/2009 13:51

OMG - this time next year I might have a DC. It's so weird, even though I have the BFP it still doesn't seem at all real that there will be a baby at the end of this. Then I think about my cousins or niece visiting and think about how much I love spending time with the LOs and it hits me that I (fingers crossed) will be a mum this time next year. I hope the scan will help it feel more real.

ohsnap · 03/03/2009 14:05

Hello all, haven't been on much the last couple of days as I've had a coldy headachey thing. All better now though

BB!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!
Am very though as I think I'm now the last wagoner still to be ttcing. for you though!!!

IDOB, Cornwall is lovely but allow about 3 hours to get from the end of the M5 to proper Cornish coast! As soon as you get off the motorway it bottlenecks into one A road and if there's one overturned caravan you'll be waiting a long time! We went to Rock 2 years ago and it took 4 hours, Google says it should take 2! Devon is just as nice but not as touristy, what sort of thing are you looking for, coast/pretty scenery/surf etc?

GYo sorry I didn't reply on FB, but what everyone else says sensible advice, glad you're feeling better about it now.

Cosmo, sorry you're having a hard time, here, have a brownie, they're special ones which get rid of heartburn and make you feel all light and floaty!

Kooky I hope you get some good news today, let us know how it goes........

Astarte · 03/03/2009 14:16

We're all still alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hurrah!

Even Dh seemed rather surprised not to come home to WW3 .

Have spent the morning baking cakes with the kids, yum.

Shoes arrived this morning, they are exquisite and very 'lucky' shoes I sense .

OS how's your Gran?

kayzr · 03/03/2009 14:32

YAY Astarte!!!!!! Very of the shoes, they are gorgeous!!

IDOB, we went to Bude when I was younger and it was lovely and within easy reach of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Also within reach of Tintagel which is beautiful.
