OhSnap don't worry about this mornings temp , it's still well above the coverline and the % of charts which go triphasic is tiny. Still positive thoughts here

Gruff & Cosmo I'm wishing you 37 week deliveries

Well I'm sorting out all my stuff this weekend and getting rid. I can't wait....maternity clothes, newborn baby girl and boys clothes, pregnancy books, drugs. I hope it's cathartic!

I'm still having the night sweats and losing 1lb a day (I gained 2lbs at the scrummiest birthday dinner last weekend), now back in my skinnies
Just waiting until my stomach muscles knit back together then I can get back to some exercise.

TINK I'm looking for a playmat, what would you recommend (nothing Disney)?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 27/02/2009 12:14

Morning everyone

Been a bit slack on here recently... but been reading most of the news.

Congrats Ast on getting back into your skinnies!!! got serious skinny jean envy and I've still got a bump. Did you find you have lost water from legs at all? Im really concerned my thighs are considerably bigger than before but hoping its fluid rather than the effects of the wagon brownies ... Sounds like Xanthe has settle in so quickly...

Glask- glad you are ok and getting to hold Ruby etc, sounds like she is making great progress. Pictures on FB are gorgeous )

Gruff- good luck at docs.. Definately think you should skip work and lie and watch films all afternoon. Sending over some relaxation orders

Hi KK-- hope you are ok. Thinking of you

Tink- hurray for more shopping...

Cosmo- how does it feel to be a lady of leisure (or nearly?) very exciting. Hope the rest from work gives you a rest from the nausea.. but fingers crossed it will go as soon as the placenta comes out. You really have suffered this pregnancy.

Hi Diege- hope the kitchen hell finishes soon. We had no kitchen for 6months a couple of years ago and that was awful so I feel your pain on noise, disruption etc.
ooh, DH revealed he had some tramadol in bathroom from his knee operation in september so if I need them they are there but Im hoping it wont be needed for 1st baby afterpains.

IDOB- 9wks already!! thats amazing. Sorry moods are affecting you. Reckon that will stop soon and come back around...35ish weeks

Ses- sorry for no heating.. really miserable but least its bit nicer today. I've got my doors and windows open to let in fresh air (and unfortunately my whiney neighbours moaning and cigarette smoke as well but you cant have everything!)

LB- hope all going well with you and you are getting some feeds into DS. How is your DD adjusting to life with a little brother?

Hello OS- hope AF is still keeping away.

I've just got my drugs prescription for home birth (pethidine equivalent drug called meptid or something), so nearly ready now, just need the gas and air cylinders which are coming next Friday . Though I wish I was giving birth before then.. might start on the labour inducing techniques before DH reaches up and breaks my waters himself, think he is as fed up as me now!!

Phew, long message

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 27/02/2009 12:16

ooh Ast, thanks for offer agian about the hynpo cd, but i've picked one up in the end as I was keen to get on with it... Finding it quite relaxing and Im trying to do it once a day in the afternoon. Hope it helps.. Im definately feeling less stressed about the birth now... just sh*t scared about what to with the baby when it arrives!

OP posts:
ohsnap · 27/02/2009 12:53

GYo, you prob won't feel your afterpains too much, firsts are fairly mild - mor eof a tightening feeling inside than a pain as such. They get worse with each baby so I am dreading number 3's as #2's were pretty painful.

Goodluck at the Dr Gruff, and at the consultant KK.

My temp seems to be neither up nor down, but I didn't have a great night's sleep and was woken up a bit early so it might not be too accurate anyway.

Mum has just had a call from the hospital, they say Granny is in a lot of pain and needing oxygen so we're going in to see her in a minute.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 27/02/2009 13:21

Im sorry to hear about your granny OS... Hope this visit goes ok today.

Just updated list.

Congratulations to the births, Glask and LB. Sounds like you both did really well and are coping well.
Sorry for the sickness and illness that is going around the wagon at present. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
KK- Sorry for the results, hope you get some better news next week.
OS- bleed sounds promising, fingers crossed for you.
Hope your granny is ok.

Hello to everyone else, sorry if i have missed anything important.
Feeling pretty tired at the moment, iron levels are low so trying to get those back up. Busy organising the big move, moving out of here in 2 months, move in with my nan.
Getting massive! Somedays i look as big as i did with DD1 at term and i have another 3 months yet!
Will try and get on over the weekend and catch up properly, got to find something for tea! Oh yeah think we have finally decided on names for both sexes!

Diege · 27/02/2009 16:30

Hello! Just a quickie as all hell breaking loose here with dds!
KOOKY, that's great about contacting ARC - glad you could get some reassurance. Are they offering you a CVS? (assume that's what you mean by placenta sample?). Don't let them pressure you into anything - it's you who decides what tests (if any) you have done, not them. Is this your usual hospital or a differt one?
Hi MIM!! Was just thinking of you this morning when updating list! Know what you mean about bump. I was this size full term with dd1, and I'm only 23 weeks .
OS, hope visit to your gran goes ok xxx
IDOB, congrats on scan date! Not long to go now
TINK, will have a look at those play mats - you bare a bad influence
Right, better go!

tinkislittlemissshopping · 27/02/2009 18:22

oh er diege lol
hope things have calmed down
moi a bad influence surely not

which activity centre do people think i should get for bracken?

kayzr · 28/02/2009 08:08

Morning!!

DS1 slept all night!!!!!!!!!!!! It was great!!

I never thought in a million years I would be so happy that DS1 slept through, I thought it would be DS2 I'd be trying to get to sleep all night.

Tink, I like the second one best.

Hope you are all well.

tinkislittlemissshopping · 28/02/2009 08:33

hi kay gr8 news

i luv leappad one amazon r doing it for £66 from £80

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 28/02/2009 10:08

morning everyone.
Kayz- hurray for DS1 sleeping all night must be great to feel rested... assuming you werent up too much with DS2

Hi MinM- not seen you for a bit... glad you are ok. Hope you can rest though if feeling tired.

Really here. Huge row with DH over something small that got blown out of proportion. Im so upset and trying not to be stressed as its so bad for the baby. Can i blame to the pregnancy hormones for being so upset and crying?

OP posts:
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 28/02/2009 10:13

Tink- love the first link. Heard great reviews about baby einstein stuff.

OP posts:
Diege · 28/02/2009 10:24

Morning
Sorry about your row GYO - the ones about something and nothing always seem to be the worst I've found (dh has gone out in sulk here after one of those this morning). I say don't blame pregnancy hormones for feeling so upset, blame dh . Seriously though, hope things blow over soon and you can start to feel better.
TINKS, also like first link best, although others are lovely too - a hard choice
KAYZ, excellent news on ds1 - you must feel like a new woman How is sleep going with ds2?

Have to finish some work today, but also need to buy a new hoover . We have scrimped in the past, but really need a powerful one (thinking Dyson type) but wondered if anyone had any recommendations?? My money for doing the extra day a week has come through, plus for marking, and am feeling a little overwhelemed about all I have to buy!! (not such a bad feeling...)
Hoping everyone has a good weekend

kayzr · 28/02/2009 10:32

DS2 also slept all night last night. But he normally wakes at 5 and thats it.

GYo, sorry about your row. I agree with Diege, blame DH

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 28/02/2009 10:36

Thanks Diege. Wish I was a cool and calm as you seem to be about your "fall out"! Hope yours resolves soon. Dont expect resolution here until tonight at this rate.

Regarding a hoover, I've had a upright dyson for years. Think I first bought it in 2001 maybe (its on its second live in relationship now!!)and its still going strong. Sucking power is good and its easy to empty etc. Guessing they are more expensive than others but its proved it worth by lasting so long.

oh, they are a bit heavy, i struggle to carry mine upstairs at the moment with the SPD but other than that great. Suspect the newer models are even better.

I sound like a right hoover geek!

OP posts:
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 28/02/2009 10:40

thanks Kayz- glad Ds2 slept all night too

OP posts:
Diege · 28/02/2009 10:49

Thanks for the hoover info! Yes, was thinking up-right dyson, but wondering aboutn stairs etc - can you get into the corners etc? (now I sound like the geek). Am reluctant to spend loads, but have sneakily been thinking that if I splurge from my marking money then I won't feel so bad spending rest on baby/dds clothes etc/me. Still, don't think even TINK could get excited about this one!
Re: row, 'time out' helps with me, and with dh gone all day with dds to MIL, I know that by the time they're back it will have blown over, so don't stress (though obviously not nice). Feel free to tell us about it on here if it will help?

kayzr · 28/02/2009 10:53

Diege, you know you go to Whitby. Who advertises the cottage you stay in? We're looking at maybe going for a week just for a little holiday as we've had to cancel our orginal plans.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 28/02/2009 10:58

Morning!

tinki - I had a look at your links but 2 of them had ended. Out of the other 2, I like the leappad one too.

GYo - sorry about your row (and Diege and any others...) I have found that pregnancy does make for a few more upsets simply because we're both going through a lot of change and not necessarily experiencing the same things and the same worries at the same time. I don't think the hormones cause any of this but sometimes magnify it. Well that's my experience anyway!

Re Dysons, we have one too and I have to say that without SPD, I am getting DH to carry it upstairs at the moment. I agree though that it is easy to use, empty, etc.

We are still without heating and only limited hotwater. DH has phoned British Gas who are coming out between 2 and 6pm today so hoping it'll be sorted soon.

Mum's phoned to say she's sorted out some of our old baby clothes, bedding etc! She said they were all still packed up from when we moved into the house 16 years ago!!! I may go and have a look this afternoon.

The dogs are being groomed at the moment by the mobile groomer in his van on our drive. They get their hair cur quite short but are so nice and clean... for about a day!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 28/02/2009 11:05

Sorry took ages to post that and x-posted with you all!

Kay - DS1 and DS2 both had good nights??!!!! Great!!!

Baby feels like it's having a stretch here - can feel it by ribs for the first time but can also feel movements below belly button!

Friend of mine is due her 2nd at the end of March. Her first was just over 9lb and she's been told this one is over 9lb already!

Diege · 28/02/2009 11:09

Kayz, I'll ask dh (when he is speaking to me) and e-mail you through facebook the contact details. The cottage we stay in is in an idyllic spot, by the foot of the abbey steps right next to the beech, and has 3 large bedrooms - perfect for us as they can just walk up from beach in 2 mins and get straight into the bath. So much easier that getting into clothes etc.
Hi SES! That's awful about no heating. I thought Gb gas had some sort of 'pledge' if they leave you without for so long? I'd also play up the pregnancy thing..maybe say labour is imminent and you have home birth planned?? . Looks like the dyson then!

kayzr · 28/02/2009 11:12

Thanks Diege, We've found a few rather cheap ones which we can still afford. We're thinking of going May or June so the schools are still at school so it's cheaper.
