Evening all,

Just updating as I am 33 weeks pg today. Sorry you are struggling STT.

Im not having much of a good day either. Went to shops with DH this morning and had such a hard time just walking round one shop.Getting really tired, headachey and dizzy. Had to stay in the car for the rest of the time as couldn't face it. Got home and managed lunch but didnt feel better so had a 2 hour sleep. Felt a bit better after but still dizzy/woozy. Im getting a bit worried so will probably got to the doctors tomorrow. With all my pelvic pain and Braxton Hicks Im getting panicky as to whats wrong. I would have gone today but couldn't bare the thought of walking to the docs (only 10mins walk)

Sorry for me post, especially when everyone seems to be going through some rough times at the mo but just wanted to get it out. DH isn't here and my Mum is out and have spoken to sister three times already.

Astarte · 26/02/2009 19:24

Aw! STT hang on in there
Great news about the scan though
A couple of days rest sounds great, hope you get signed off and can rest. We worry when we stuff our faces and we worry when we don't feeling like eating at all don't we?

What is that saying......a mothers place is in the wrong!

Can I ask everyone, when did they resume relations again?
I remember with Dd1 it was a few weeks, but there were reasons for that.
I can't remember at what point with the boys, but obviously it did .

Where's Nat?

Astarte · 26/02/2009 19:28

Happynappies was still pg on Sunday btw but maybe she's had the baby now.

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 19:40

Oh Gruff, sorry you're feeling bad too, there must be something in these wagon brownies. Have you had and flashy/sparkly bits in your vision? If so, definitely definitely go to the docs tomorrow, but actually if I were you I think I'd go anyway just for peace of mind.

After DD1 it was about 3 months before doing anything as I had a double length episiotomy and LOTS of bruising, after DD2 it was more like 6 months as I had nerve damage (someone tell me WHY I'm doing this again??) so I don't really know what's "normal"

Starshinetiger · 26/02/2009 19:40

STT - sorry you aren't feeling very well. Hope it passes soon and you rest as much as you can.
Ohsnap - fingers duly crossed.
Kooky - sorry to read your news. glad you could get some useful advice on here and shall keep positive thinking for you.
Astarte - sorry, can't remember when we resumed relations last time, think it was a few weeks at least.
Diege, sorry for kitchen taking longer, hope Weds is final final day.
LB - glad DS has pooed, hope he settles in over next couple of days.

Can anyone tell me, is it normal for movements to get less towards the end? I'm 36+4 and in last couple of days have not had so many movements or so vigorous - before, i would sit on sofa in evening and get a positive show of belly just moving around, but not really happening like that for last couple of evenings - is this usual? Should I call mw tomorrow?

Sorry it seems to have been such a pants week on the wagon - yay for sneaky wagon hugs and brownies!

ohsnap · 26/02/2009 19:43

Star, movements do decrease as the baby's running out of space to do backflips, as long as you're getting at least 10 movements each day I think you're alright.

kookykid · 26/02/2009 19:46

STT - great news about your scan! Am so pleased for you. Hope you're feeling better soon so you can start enjoying your pregnancy.

OhSnap - I have everything crossed for you.... it really sounds hopeful. How is your grandmother?

LB - great news about the poo! My wonderful (slightly hippy-ish) midwives reckoned that newborns have to be re-programmed to sleep at night, not during the day. Their theory was that they are still programmed in ancient ways when tribes of people travelled during the day so baby slept and then when they would settle for the night to camp that's when the baby would wake to be fed along with the rest of the tribe!

Glask - sounds like little Ruby is doing really really well and I think you're amazing for expressing and I'm sure your determied to BF will pay off.

Gruff - sorry you're not feeling great... but do give yourself a break! You're 33 weeks now and the pregnancy is going to start taking it's toll physically. I found I really slowed down a lot at about that time when pg with DD. I slept more in my last trimester than the first I think!

Diege - yay for maternity pay... sounds like a fab package. Thanks for your advice, it has really helped.

Astarte - it was months before I let DH anywhere near me!!

Hope I haven't missed anyone - apologies if I have.

I am feeling much calmer today. Have decided I need to try and take things easy and look after myself and the baby in the hope that everything is OK. Yes, it's going to be an awful few weeks waiting, but I can't change the outcome and the odds ARE low. I wish it wasn't happening but it is! Feel very grateful to have found MN as it's been a huge source of comfort and reassurance when I haven't felt strong enough to talk to people in RL.

kookykid · 26/02/2009 19:49

Sorry, X-posts.

IDOB - yay for getting to 9 weeks!

Star - I second what ohsnap said! Sure the MW won't mind if you call for reassurance though.

GruffaloSoldier · 26/02/2009 20:01

Thanks KK and ohsnap! Havent had any visual disturbances so hopefully nothing too serious. Im concerned am supposed to go back to work tomorrow afternoon and cant see it happening if I dont perk up soon!I have to put LO first though and myself LOL!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 26/02/2009 20:09

Feeling cold here - suddenly no heating or hot water
Thank goodness for open fire in the lounge! I've just lit it and hope it warms up soon.
DH is out on a work curry night tonight so haven't got him to try and sort it or to warm me up!

OhSnap - still fingers crossed here!!

Glaskham - Ruby looks gorgeous

Gruff - sorry for your discomfort, dizziness, etc. I'd give GP or MW a ring tomorrow for peace of mind if nothing else.

Kooky - Good to hear from you. Sounds like you're trying to get things sorted in your head and you're coming across with a great attitude. I really hope the next few weeks don't drag too much and that you get good news at the end.

Diege - am of your maternity pay! I start ML on 3rd April so another 5 weeks and 1 day (who's counting??!)

IDOB - 9 weeks!!! Have you got a scan date yet?

Hi to everyone else.

Starshinetiger · 26/02/2009 20:50

Thanks everyone - I don't seem to remember worrying this much first time round, which is odd!
Boo for heating Ses - hope DH can sort it out when he gets home.
Sorry for all I forget I've read - memory appalling at the mo.
Oh, STT - fab news about the scan, hope you feel better soon.
By the way - anyone feeling hormonal?! - whatever you do, don't watch Sky1 at the mo - has me in tears!

Morning all!

OhSnap - hope you didn't forget to take your temperature! What was it?

Hope those in the wagon sick bay are feeling better this morning.

DH hasn't managed to get the boiler working (yet!) so freezing house this morning. He did find an imersion heater to connect though so we did have hot water at least.

LB - sounds like your milk is coming in hope your night wasn't too bad...

5 weeks today is my last day at work before ML!!
Not sure if that sounds a long time or not...

Cosmogirl · 27/02/2009 08:49

Morning Ses.

Diege - in response to your q - nausea still there every day pretty much (varies in severity from day to day) but am able to eat ok-ish and haven't thrown up since Dec 27th, so that is something I suppose. I must admit though, the nausea is still very depressing at times and the key reason I would love to deliver before 40 wks if possible (with a healthy, good-weight baby if course). Most people who have nausea right the way through report that the nausea disappears the minute the placenta comes out so I am praying that happens to me too.

Diege · 27/02/2009 08:59

Morning!! Still holed up in dd3's bedroom - this time with dd3 as off nursery on a Friday.
Had to come upstairs as she was screaming her head off every time the drill went on! I think it will all be done by weds, including tiling, so not too bad as we're all out of the house by 8 on those days.
ASARTE, that's really interesting about the green poos and foremilk etc. I had this when bf dd1, and she became really cranky and it hastened the move to formula. No advice round here available after first few weeks, and if I'd have known about foremilk/hindmilk etc I would have tried to feed longer etc...I they wonder why so many people give up! Did manage 6 months though, although dds2 and 3 have never had so much as a 'sniff of the nipple' as my HV so eloquently put it . Oh and thanks for the tramadol My e-mail is [email protected] oh drug pusher life saver!

SES, hope your house gets warm! Not long at all until maternity leave - I think I am about a month behind you. Yes, am very pleased with ML package. The only 'condition' is that you have to pay some back if you don't come back to work at all, but I def am so doesn't effect me.

Ooh what's on SKY1 Star??? Don't get satellite, so intrigued!

KK, so glad you're feeling calmer . It's normal to feel up and down, so don't beat yourself up if you have a few low days xx

Wow IDOB, 9 weeks today! That's going so quick!
GRUFF, really hope you feel better soon. May well be worth a visit to the GPs. Hoping you can get some relief, and def stay off if feeling rough xx
Hello to everyone else I've missed. Just waiting for the playbarn to open and then we're out of here!

Diege · 27/02/2009 09:07

x-posts COSMO, that's rough . My sister was still throwing up into a bedpan when she was in labour (sickness started at 6 weeks)but it really did disappear straight after delivery. She made her dh go out and bring in a bucket of KFC - it stunk the ward out but she didn't care!

idreamofbeanie · 27/02/2009 09:27

Morning all,

the dratted hormones that made me act like such a moody mare yesterday have decided to give me a break today so I feel much better (of course the lovely steak and potato wedges I made myself last night followed by 10 hours sleep might have helped too ). It made me laugh when Diege said nine weeks seems to have come around quickly - for me it seems to be taking ages to get to 12 weeks . No scan date yet Ses - I'm waiting for a letter from the hospital to say they have received the request from the midwife so I can phone and arrange a date.

Cosmo - sorry you are still feeling so grim. Do you have a list of fav foods you want to have asap after the birth? A friend of mine has terrible ms right up to birth and she gave her partner a list of foods he had to bring to the hospital and cook when for her when she got home. Within 10mins of birth she was starving and not a hint of nausea so she said she didn't stop eating for a week!

Diege - fingers crossed its all finished by Wed.

Ses - hope you're not still freezing.

kayzr · 27/02/2009 09:31

Morning,

Hope you all are ok this morning.

Cosmo, I do hope the sickness goes as soon as you give birth, I can't imagine what it must be like to have constant sickness.

My sickness this week has done me good. I've lost 7lbs since Monday. So hoping to keep it off.

Hello to everyone, bit busy this morning. Hoping to do some gardening if the dogs next door don't drive me insane!!

GruffaloSoldier · 27/02/2009 09:45

Morning all!

Was up at 4.30 this morning - not good!
Spoken to mw this morning and have to go to docs at 2.40pm (supposed to sart work at 2pm so will have to miss it ) They think my iron levels have dropped again or something. Also told I've been doing too much I very much doubt it!

Ses - not long for maternity leave for you!Mine is a week on Wed and I reckon it will drag!

Cosmo - Im sure your nausea will pass as soon as you have that baby in your arms! Not long now!

Diege - playbarn sounds good, cant be good for you or dd3 cooped up in a room listening to noisy builders!

IDOB - Hooray for feeling better!Hope scan date comes soon!

Kayz - happy gardening!Sun is shining so a lovely day for it

Morning all- yet another flying visit- but wanted to pop my head in and say Hi!!

Ruby is a week old today!!!!

Can't remember who asked about her coming home?... But once she's laching on and getting a full feed from me then she only needs to be feeding wthout her feeding tube for 48hrs till she's allowed home!! So the way things are going we're looking at roughly another 2 weeks according to the midwives who care for her!!

I'm sat here waiting for 11am to come so i can express some more milk for her, then its off to SCBU to try and latch her on for a feed before her 12 o'clock feed. then we need to be home for about 2ish as the big monkeys are back from london this afternoon!!!

We're taking DH's mum and nanny to visit Ruby this afternoon, then an evening visit with the DC's before their bedtime.

I'm getting very exited for the DC's coming home- i've not seen them properly for nearly 2 weeks with being in hospital since the 16th, then them going to london. Visiting hrs in hospital weren't the best time and place to spend time with them so i feel i've missed out on so much!! I have a lot of making up to do with them!!

Our PC is bust so i'm currently using my sisters laptop- but DH's mum and stepdad kept saying they'll buy us a laptop so we can send them pics of ruby etc still... on one hand i dont want them to, but on the other hand it'd be nice to be able to keep in touch still!! Only really borrowed my sisters laptop so i could get pics on and email them to family etc... need to give it back on sunday.

Right i'm off to do a couple of last bits before we go and see the tiny one.

Hope you're all well!! x

kookykid · 27/02/2009 11:00

Morning all,

Had a phone call from the fetal medicine unit in Cambridge who have said to come in on Tuesday. When I asked whether it was for the scan, they said they could do "both". Am concnerned they'll want to do the placental test as the baby won't be big enough to diagnose through the scan alone.

Diege, I finally called the ARC and you're right, they were fantastic. They are sending me some information.
