OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 16/02/2009 17:18

Clearly thats female intutition about male babies!

Hi Diege- x-posts there... hang in there with the final (!) 37! What is the topic of the papers? is it interesting?

idreamofbeanie · 16/02/2009 17:45

Well thanks for all the sympathy although I don't really deserve it. I'm just too stubborn to admit I might have to slow down a little bit now I am pregnant . I"m sure some part of my crazy brain thinks that if I take it easy when I'm not quite 8 weeks I'll be bedridden by 30 weeks .

It'll be interesting to see who's right on the boy/girl intuition front. For now I'm clearly just hoping this pregnancy continues and the bean is healthy but I have to admit to a small and sneaky sense of panic at the idea of having a girl. I'm such a tomboy I'm not sure I'd know what to do with a a girly girl. Of course we'll probably end up with a little boy who wants to dress as a princess and push a buggy and I'll be far too busy to worry I don't know how to put his make-up on . Kids never do what you expect do they.

idreamofbeanie · 16/02/2009 17:46

Hope you get through the marking soon Diege, 37 doesn't sound too bad - there aren't any more papers hiding behind the sofa are there?

kookykid · 16/02/2009 19:01

Hi!

Fingers crossed for a good labour for Astarte! And LB - hope you're not far behind.

Sorry to hear that Glask's waters have gone - it must be so worrying for her.

IDOB - Hope you're feeling betetr after the busy weekend you had - I am 11 weeks and find that if I over-do things I really pay for it later. Hard to take things easy if you're not feeling too bad at the time.

Diege - hope work doesn't take too long. (I am feeeling very smug as have all my planning done for next half term. I am not usually such a swot!).

GYO - I loved those weird alien movements! I used to have a bath specially so I could watch the gymnastics going on!

My scan is in 2 days time. Trying to pretend it's not really happening. Just wish it was over and done with already. Have been staying with the ILs in Yorkshire for a few days, so that's been a good distraction, but know tomorrow night is going to be a sleepless one.

Diege · 16/02/2009 19:03

LOL IDOB about getting a 'girly boy'...think mine will be that way inclined anyway
Only another 17 papers to go!!! (save any lurkers round back of sofa)
GYO, topic of paper is very definitely not interesting...Theory and Methods in Sociology (A level). Or rather, it might have been interesting 3 weeks ago, but not now...
Exciting that we may well have a new wagon baby by tomorrow!

lardybump · 16/02/2009 19:29

My period type pains are back...... Oh please let this be it....

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 16/02/2009 19:42

Oooh! LB - I hope so for your sake! Fingers crossed!

Hope all's going well for Astarte and Glask too.

LBOT - yay for great MW appointment and hearing hb

IDOB - do allow yourself to take it easy. Must have been a difficult dilemma though with the hen do.

Diege - sounds like the end is in sight with the marking!

Kooky - good to hear from you. Good luck for scan (although I'm sure you won't need it!)

I've had a good day. Pilates this morning then lunch with a friend. She gave me some indulgent bits from our local spa (which I then went to this afternoon for a manicure and pedicure!)

In between lunch and spa, I went to look at a curtains/ blinds shop. It's a small independent place that my brother recommended and they were fab. I've come home with some sample books and she's coming to measure up (at no extra charge) on Wednesday morning. We need to get curtains and blinds for living room, our bedroom and the baby's room.

Most excited about the baby's room . The walls in there are already a pale yellow colour which we'll keep but then this shop does lots of frieze and matching curtains/blinds that can be black out ones too. Have shown DH this evening and we both like the set with animals on - snake, koala, parrot and lizard. They are all set on a background of cream with leafy plants that the animals are on.

We think it's quite cute and colourful and wouljdn't be too young for up to 5 or 6 yrs of age so worth the investment!

ohsnap · 16/02/2009 20:05
