Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

Congrats to Mandy and Twocute!!!

Well nothing new on my end. I had more bloody show last night and thought that today was going to be my day, but right now, I got nothing. It's still early, but I doubt it's going to happen.

Gotta go, ds1 just put his hands in the yogurt and is running around saying he's a snowman.

Why I'm adding to this chaos? Can some remind me please.

Congrates Mandy & twocutes.

BIB like you had painful contractions/bh yesterday then all quite. But like with my previous pg's i slept realy well last night 10.30pm to 6am and only waking once to go to the toilet.

titmouse · 04/03/2009 16:10

congratulations Mandy and what a lovely name for your little boy!

Wow it is all really happening now - MKG fingers crossed that you will be soon, it seems like you've been on the verge for a really long time

I'm having a really down day, been crying most of it and fell out with a friend that I would never normally have a cross word with - having read twocute's labour thread (thank you it was lovely to read) I wonder if its a run-up to labour but it's probably just too many hormones!
I had a student MW in on my appt yesterday and she was so insistent about weighing me and then they both told me my weight gain is in excess of the norm for a whole pregnancy (and I still have 3 weeks to go)which has upset me a bit cos I can see how whale-like I have got but I didn't need a student telling me I'd have to work a bit harder to lose it!!

well bring on the babies cos reading about the births does cheer me up loads, thank you everybody xx

emma2617 · 04/03/2009 16:14

congrats TwoCue and Mandy! It really is all going on!

BIB - i had the same last night! Really thought today was going to be the day, but alas I fear ti may not be! The tightenings were geting more intense throughout the evening yestrday, I managed to fall asleep but being woken every hour by a real humdinger that made me wince, then today they have really slowed. They are still happening but much less regularly and only slightly uncomforable! At 39+4 I should have realised it was too good to be true!

jollyjoanne · 04/03/2009 17:11

Twocute what an amazing tale. I'm really impressed and that way you manage to mnake it all sound so - well normal. And yet it still made me cry!

Mandy huge congratulations to you. I know that this has probably seemed a really tough journey for some more than others so big respect to you and the new baby.

Captain my baby bump does seem to have slowed or eased off on the movements but when she does make a big movement my goodness does it feel odd. I feel like my whole insides are going over, and the other day she dragged her foot around from one side to the other and you could see it moving across the bump it was totally surreal and a little alien like!

Still not even any strong BHs here yet, very much the same as they were at about 20 weeks just that slightly uncomfortable tightening but nothing more. Starting to get really jealous of everyone else who is seeing some action.

rubyring · 04/03/2009 17:12

oh what lovely birth stories! am a sobbing mess yet again, it's all so amazing isn't it?
congratulations, it's really hotting up now! xxx

babyinbelly · 04/03/2009 17:55

Congrats on the babies ladies.

Mandy you really deserve to enjoy your baby after all the worry you've had. I'm really pleased for you.

Titmouse Are you being allowed your HB? Any news yet?

Have been having a few contractions again today but tend to see more action late evening/night time so might pick up again. Went to DP parents today and his mum seems to think will be very soon. She's had five boys so hope she knows!

corgikelly · 04/03/2009 19:21

What extraordinary stories, mandy and twocute! Congratulations to you both!

Not posted for an eternity, but just wanted to congratulate those of you with your new arrivals. The birth stories are actually surprisingly reassuring! I've got two days until my due date, and although keen to get on with things, am trying to enjoy the relative calm of one child! Good luck to everyone, pre and post birth!

laumiere · 04/03/2009 21:10

Well am feeling a bit happier about life after checking stitches, not the car crash I was expecting!

Going to the loo remains an adventure though, as seemed to have bruised my tailbone during the birth, which makes sitting really painful!

Congrats new mums!

titmouse · 04/03/2009 21:57

Hi bib thanks for asking.
I'm still not sure about HB, blood tests werent back and I have to call them tomorrow. It is looking unlikely though, was a bit annoying as MW didn't want to give me a definitive answer. But she is still dropping the HB box off next week so all is not lost! Just can't see my haemoglobin having risen the satisfactory amount. I was prepared to opt for local MLU as a compromise but she said I couldn't go there, if bloods are not ok I have to go to the labour ward. So fingers crossed! I'll post an update tomorrow xx

CaptainKarvol · 05/03/2009 10:53

Congratulations Mandy, it's been a long journey for you, I bet! Looking forward to seeing lovely pics

Twocute (threecute?) that is a fab story, thank you for posting it.

Thanks to all those who have been so reassuring about the movements - my next MW appt is not till next week, it seems like a long time (I can finally see why those home dopplers are so popular)

titmouse - try not to fret about the weight. I put on loads and loads with DS (went from 9 to 12 stone), most of it turned out to be water and vanished - well, leaked away really - within the first two weeks after the birth. What a tactless student though. I hope you get your HB - the box being dropped off does sound promising.

laweasle, have you got your car back yet?

Not much going on here, just nighttime BHs, a toddler with a streaming cold and an imminent third birthday for me to organise. GPs all coming over on Sunday, and I have to organise a buffet which can cater for a 3 year old, a vegetarian, a gluten free diet and a low-salt kidney-friendly diet. Hahahaha. I may just invite the grandads, they eat anything. Once that is over, I can get on with having this baby, but NOT before

lollipopz · 05/03/2009 10:58

Hi all lovely birth stories I am starting to get excited full term on Sat

Just seen my gp who is concerned that baby is an 'unstable lie' basically the head is still floating about anywhere, so I am back off to the hospital tomorrow afternoon for a proper diagnosis and to decide what needs done

When I found out I was due near the end of march I had visions of daffodils and lambs and walks in the sunshine! Aye right! The snow is still falling here and its getting quite thick!
Hope everyone is doing well x

titmouse · 05/03/2009 11:59

I've just spoken to the doctors surgery and my new haemoglobin count is 10.2, quite a hike from my last test, and I have been taking the iron pills religiously so it will probably be higher by now - doctor has said anaemia has improved and as I am v. close to the 10.5 required for a HB it looks like this baby WILL be heaved out in my living room!! (well, all other factors permitting )

captain thanks for the encouragement re the weight thing, I am sure she will improve with practice and say less tactless things - she couldn't find the baby with both hands and I felt a bit sorry for her I tihnk she has lots to learn!!

babyinbelly · 05/03/2009 13:11

good news titmouse.

Do we need a new thread some time soon?

Hope everyone doing ok today.

goldmother2b · 05/03/2009 13:47

Hi all,

A quick update to let you know that I had a little girl at 1.58am on 3rd March - after 4 and a half hour labour - she weighed 7 lb 3oz and is absolutely perfect. Name is TBC. Will check in and catch up with everyone's posts when I get a chance and also tell my tale!

Boobz · 05/03/2009 13:50

A day early! You lucky thing goldmother - I'm so sure I'm going to go overdue...

Congratulations! TBC is an unusual name, but I'm sure it suits her. And such a quick labour! Argh, I am SO IMPATIENT!

Well done you. Come back and tell your story soon!

xxx

goldmother2b · 05/03/2009 13:56

Boobz - thanks - you were joking about TBC I hope!

meep · 05/03/2009 14:09

Hooray - welcome to the world to goldbaby and a very quick labour - impressive!!! We need stories and pics so that I can sob some more!

lol Boobz !

Congratulations goldmother

Was that (gasp) on her due date??? And what a quick labour!

Madigan · 05/03/2009 14:38

Hello - just been told about this thread, so hope you do not mind me joining. I am 37 weeks tomorrow, and feeling like crap at the moment!!! Horrible cold, can't sleep, go to the loo every half hour, in considerable pain with baby pressing on bladder, waddling, trying to look after 18mo, seriously pissed off with husband on a permanent basis because he gives me no sympathy whatsoever and expects me just to carry on like superwoman depite the fact I am about to give birth, throbbing headache, chesty cough, exhausted.... need I go on? Anyone else feel the same way? or do I just sound like a miserable old mare

titmouse · 05/03/2009 15:07

congratulations goldmother that is brilliant, I hope you had a positive labour experience and I look forward to reading your story!

welcome madigan sorry to hear you're feeling so crap you've found the right place for it anyway xx
